We came to Sushi Neko Original for an early dinner after seeing SO many great reviews, and it definitely did not disappoint! They offer all-you-can-eat for around $35, which honestly seems like a great deal if you can put down some sushi , but we knew we wouldn't eat enough to make it worth it, so we opted to order à la carte instead. We started with the pork belly, which was actually the only thing we didn't care for, so we ended up sending that back. Everything after that, though, was SO good. The garlic spicy salted edamame was delicious and such a good way to start. We also tried several of their all-day specials--the yellowtail carpaccio, crunchy onion albacore, and seared bluefin tuna--and all three were delicious. Normally the specials are limited to one per person with AYCE, but since we were ordering à la carte, we could order however many we wanted. For rolls, I got the A Little Tease Roll and really enjoyed it. My husband got the Call 911 roll, and judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say he loved his too . My son kept it simple with a California roll and a cup of rice, which worked perfectly for him. We also shared a lychee nigiri, one of my favorites, and it was super yummy. The ambiance is probably one of my favorite things about this place. It's really fun and feels like somewhere you could come for a date night, but it's still completely comfortable for families. It would also be a great spot to come with a group. The surrounding area looks a little sketchy, so don't let that throw you off. Once you walk inside, it seriously feels like you've been transported somewhere completely different. The restaurant itself is really nice and has such a fun vibe. The best Ayce sushi place in Vegas! If you're tired of the boring buffets on the strip, I highly recommend to visitors to check out this restaurant off the strip in Chinatown. Food (4.5/5) I strongly recommend to order the nigiri and stay away from the rolls if you want to get your moneys worth. The nigiri selection is pretty huge with multiple unique cuts of fish that other Ayce sushi places usually don't include (surf clam, ono, yellowtail toro, uni). Although some of the premium items you're only allowed to order once, it was pretty satisfying to be able to even try it as most ayce sushi places don't even include these items. The nigiri is on the smaller side (maybe 1/2 the size of regular size nigiri) but I appreciate how they didn't include a ton of sushi rice with each piece. It seemed like this restaurant wanted you to get your moneys worth and not have you fill up on rice! Highlight items are definitely everything on the special nigiri order menu selection, eel nigiri, and seared salmon. The regular tuna nigiri was just alright and my group did not like the ikura as it was a little off tasting. They also include free ice cream at the end and the affogado was pretty good! Service (4.75/5) The service was pretty good for such a small and packed place. We went right at opening and it was completely full with a long wait outside on a Sunday afternoon. The best part of this place is that there is NO item ordering restriction so essentially you could order 100+ nigiri for a single round of ordering. Most ayce sushi places I've eaten at have very shady rules that try to screw you over so you can't order a lot, but this place took the opposite approach so I can see why it's always busy! The staff was very quick at bringing out the food and having you order again. There is a 90 minute time limit to eat so start ordering right away. Ambience (4.5/5) This restaurant is located in a strip mall plaza in Chinatown and the parking was limited, but once inside this restaurant was pretty cute with the decorations. Having two people is easier than having more. When the whole table orders, they bring in all the food at the same time, sometimes with different peoples orders on the same place. As you are being seated the servers welcome you with some chant and the inside just has so much fun energy. Great place to be eating with family and friends. I really enjoyed the pineapple salmon steak, Galbi short rib, all the seared salmon rolls, Uni, lots of the salmon rolls were good. Decided to try the second location of Sushi Necko (maybe it's the first location?) nearest the Ramen restaurant. Cute intimate space with obvious Japanese decor. We were seated immediately since we showed up at 12:45 PM. Turns out we qualified for the lunchtime AYCE price which was 26.95 since it was a weekday. Hubby is gluten-free so it's always a challenge to find a sushi restaurant that accommodates his chosen allergy. This usually means he has to get rolls that have no sauce on them, no imitation crab meat inside the roll and the use of tamari instead of regular soy sauce. This location accommodated him to a certain level. They said he could subtract items from any role but they could not add any additional items such as extra cucumber or avocado, etc.. FYI- only other downside was that they were out of salmon and yellowtail collar. We all left with full tummies after consuming the daily specials that are limited -one per person, lots of yummy rolls, and different nigiri specials and ice cream for dessert! read more
