    Uni pasta
    Devon P.

This is an amazing restaurant! The staff were friendly and I loved how the chef came to the table. The seafood was fresh and delicious! The uni pasta had a savory note and wasn't excessively salty so I was pleasantly surprised. The otoro sakura bowl was great. The slices of fish were large and difficult to eat, but I found a way because it was so delicious. The interior was nice; although the restroom was very basic. The prices are high but they are justified because of the amount and quality of the product you receive. Overall, I would definitely come again!

Wow. Their otoro and chutoro bowls are to die for. Expensive, but huge and extremely fresh fish. The owner is also very friendly and personally came out to greet us!

Shigotonin is a hidden gem for sushi lovers. The food here is top-tier. Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Each piece was prepared with care and perfect timing. The uni, toro, and hamachi were especially memorable. You can tell the chefs are experienced and passionate about what they do. Service was warm and attentive. The staff made great recommendations and explained the dishes without rushing us. It felt very personalized and respectful of the dining experience. Prices are reasonable for the quality, especially considering how hard it is to find true craftsmanship like this. Shigotonin is not just a meal--it's an experience. Can't wait to come back!

Want fresh fresh fresh fish? Shigotonin is the spot! I usually eat at AYCE sushi restaurants, but I wanted to change the vibe and eat top quality sushi. As you walk in, you enter a minimalistic and modern restaurant. It kind of feels like I'm at an art gallery. They offer various options of maki's, rolls, bowls, and even appetizers. I got the jidori karaage... super juicy! I also got one of the bowls and the toro set. Expect big cuts of melt in your mouth tuna. Every dollar spent was so worth it. The fish was so fatty it coated my mouth and melted in my mouth. The saltiness was perfect. Service was 5 they were constantly refilling our drinks and checking on us. I highly recommend Shigotonin if you want to treat yourself or someone special. Go and taste for yourself!

One of the best sushi experiences I've had outside of Japan. The interior is simple and clean, but nothing to write home about. The service was amazing and was helpful in figuring out what we should order. The Sakura box was a highlight for me although it was very expensive. The sweet shrimp is something I haven't tried before but it was delicious and marinated perfectly. The grilled unagi roll wasn't that special for me but it was still good. The sashimi here was excellent and were generously cut portions. Definitely get the Sashimi platter if you are into sashimi. We also ordered the uni pasta, although not pictured, and found it to be tasty but I wouldn't order it again. It is worth trying at least once since it's unique. The sashimi (Hamachi) is also amazing and is the best yellowtail I've had at a US restaurant.

Intimate and minimalist cute little Japanese hole in the wall restaurant. The food is focused on fresh Japanese sashimi and sushi. The service was impressive when I went on Saturday night and the Japanese owner/chef came out to greet guests. Everything we had was amazing and fresh. My favorite had to be the uni pasta with caviar, kama toro, and uni handroll. The kama toro and chu toro was buttery and melt in your mouth. Really fresh. Definitely worth a try

Service was good. Liked how the waitress showed us the specials board and scrolled through photos to highlight the special. Visually very appealing. Food came out quickly and presentation was good except for the Wagyu and mushrooms. For $85 Wagyu I'd expect better presentation and flavor. Super mild buttery flavor and definitely tender. However it just was lack luster at that price. the miso mushroom dish was also take it or leave it. I say leave it at $35. I'm comparing the 5 ounce Wagyu from Raku on a hot stone for $120 and even though this was more tender the presentation was lacking. Both Wagyu were ok, not fabulous. The oyster mushroom at Raku was much better than this place. The sashimi was a different story. Hella good and very nice sized portions. The sashimi rice had a little something special about it and I could have eaten a bowl of it separately or with the Wagyu. Nothing but stars for the sashimi bowls ~ $65.

All I have to say is wow! We absolutely loved this experience. Every dish we had was so fresh and delicious. Servers were friendly and attentive. Cannot wait to go back!

Amazing food, amazing service, and a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment. We went here end of February to celebrate my friend's wedding and the food was outstanding. I got the miso soup, temaki 5 kinds, and uni carbonara. The chutoro and uni were the best but the other fish was great too. Everyone loved their meals and I look forward to coming back here one day.

The fish is solid here but agree with others that the price may be a bit high for what you get. I've been to premium sushi/omakase places that offer similar sets in LA for less. I think I was a bit disappointed in the amount of uni I got for the special chirashi. I kid you not, the small fingernail size dollop of uni you see in my picture was all the uni given for the entire chirashi bowl. Now the high quality of fish was what redeemed this place a bit more as a 4 star for me, but I almost rather they didn't list uni as part of this bowl if they're going to be giving such a small amount that's barely enough to get a good taste of when mixed in with the rice. Good and attentive service was another reason I leaned towards the 4 star rather than 3.

Well damn the sushi is that good; I haven't had tuna that good ever. And it was every piece of the tuna from the akami to negitoro to the Otoro. The staff are well trained, attentive, and have some of the friendly and joking nature of the owner, Shigo-San. The uni pasta was also excellent but if I come back I'm ditching that and getting more varieties of the special bowls (there's been mention in previous reviews of the Hokkaido special's rice being mind blowing) We also got the yellowtail temaki which was okay but the tuna was so delicious that it couldn't compare. For party of two, our total came to around $240 including tax, tip, and a sake bottle. FYI the special combo set prices vary I think but at the time we went the tuna mix was $150 and the temaki 5-piece set would have been $125

Everything is so yummy and the service is good the food came out so fast. I also got the uni pasta and more hand rolls but I forgot to take pictures of them. It's very clean and minimalistic and hole in the wall. You would never suspect this place. The Sakura box is so yummy but the pieces are bigger than one bite. Would come again.

After researching for a long time what to eat in vegas, I decided to finally try this spot off the strip as I usually stick to the food on the strip. The reviews for this place is crazy good! Naturally, I had high expectations and made a reservation immediately. tbh there was no need for a reservation. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived. Although it might have been the timing since it was a weekday when we went. All the food was really good. The fish is fresh. No complaints. The chicken namban was surprisingly juicy and the sauce was super good and went well with the chicken. The uni Carbonara is a must get. Overall really good food but slighly overpriced for the portion. I felt that the prices were comparable to the strip pricing (if not more expensive) But it was really good and fresh.

I have never been to a sushi location that the service is this spectacular. Table always cleared away of empty dishes and the speed of how fast the food comes out is INSANE. You don't need to go to the Strip for Ari yeah!…read more Ari Sushi & Izakaya is a very well-Yelped restaurant in the southwest. I've particularly seen buddies post about it on Instagram a lot, and I finally made my way out there since I found that it aligned with my mom's food craving. I went for the Ari Ari Combo ($29.00). It started with a little bowl of balanced miso soup and a tiny side salad with fresh greens and a simple sesame dressing, and was followed by six thin but delicious sashimi slices and four basic but also solid-quality nigiri. I would be more than happy to come back try to more of their raw fish any time. If that doesn't sound like enough for lunch, I did share other food items. The Garlic Edamame ($7.00) felt a little less salted than I expected but was a good portion and had plenty of both a garlic sauce and crispy garlic slivers. I also helped out with a Bento with 3 items ($25.00): bulgogi, mixed tempura, and spicy tuna roll. The bulgogi was tender but not strongly marinated enough and the spicy tuna roll felt pretty standard, but I did really enjoy the shrimp tempura and the veggie tempura pieces which I tried. They were super hot and crispy while being cooked perfectly inside, and the sauce was perfect. The music was relaxing and not played at a very high volume. The restaurant is a little more dim than I'd like and could benefit from overhead narrow-angle lights, but maybe the food was just that good that the lighting wasn't so important. The server was happy to refill my complimentary water with lemon as often as needed, as well as to add more water to the Hot Green Tea ($4.00). I did try some of the tea, and it was potent and low in bitterness. I'm pleased to report that Ari Sushi really does offer delicious sushi, enough so that I'll probably have to make more trips from Henderson to try more of their menu. If you want high quality mid-price-range sushi that's not in an all you can eat format, this is a great place to look.

Perhaps they just know "how to eat," as in GLUTTONY and stuffing themselves with bad food. I came here based on a sole recommendation and the 1K+ positive Google reviews. I apologize in advance for being brutally frank as I am certain to insult many people, namely the 1000+ positive Google reviews. I suppose my palate is just at a different level. I do not go to AYCE sushi for a reason, except for one establishment on W. Sahara/S. Tomsik where the quality IS in fact day & night compared to "Top Sushi." From the start I ordered shrimp tempura just to see what type of batter they use and the size of the shrimp. Batter was soggy and no crunch. The shrimp was size 31/40 vs 11/12 like at my only AYCE go-to. Beyond that, the shrimp was pasty. The Korean fried chicken was good; no complaints. The mini udon had good hearty noodles but the broth was warm at best, not hot. Their salad is pure Iceberg, so it's useless with zero nutrition or taste. My other place uses only high quality mixed greens with Romaine. I can hear what you're saying, "Why order these items at an AYCE sushi restaurant?" Because it shows the integrity of an establishment putting items on the menu that pass as filler. The salmon collar was doused in oil and sauce to hide its badly pre-frozen state. This place touts themselves as having the best fish-to-rice ratio. Of course, because the quality of the fish is sooo poor, it doesn't matter. A true sushi is a 1:1 or more generously a 1.25:1 ratio of fish:rice. Any less rice is not sushi! Why fake it?!?! Just order sashimi and a side bowl of rice if you're looking for a lot of fish and a speck of rice! The proper proportions are 12-18 grams of fish to 10-12 grams of rice; that is real sushi! If your entire tray of nigiri is swimming in sauce, you're hiding the frozen fish. My go-to place has IQF fish relatively fresh that there is practically NO sauce! If you want non-frozen, go to an ala carte sushi place not AYCE. Quality fish does not need to hide behind all that muck! If you're the type of sushi eater that just gorges themselves with rolls, then this is the place for you. If you're a true sushi lover meaning nigiri with quality rice or sashimi, DO NOT even attempt coming here! The unagi had a "muddy odor" which is a sign of freezer burn. The hokkigai was so rubbery and 61-70 rather than what should be 51-60 size. The Saba was pure salt! It's supposed to be briny with the influence of the ocean not a salt bed! The mango salmon was unique and flavorful if you want to taste only mango and not the salmon. Seared Escolar was honest. Most sushi places call it "super white tuna" or "white maguro" which is BS! I give Top Sushi that. They do not hide the fact that it is Escolar. Moreover, I counted the word "imitation" 26 times on their menu!! Why would you like to eat "imitation" anyway?!? The salmon skin roll was so chewy I thought I was eating a fishy beef jerky. There are more bad examples but I need to restrain myself. When I looked around at the guests, not a single person looked like they even knew that sushi rice is a specific quality like Tamanishiki, Tamaki Gold, a more affordable Kagayagi (used at better quality AYCE venues) or at the very least Kokuho Rose, nor do they know that it is cooked with Mirin. These are the McDonald's and Denny's crowd. Let's talk about the service. It is a cattle call!! Be prepared to have no conversation, not even a "Hello" with your host/hostess. Just follow her, sit and shut up. When the servers drop off the food, you feel like you're encroaching on their lives. They are miserably unhappy. I made a concerted effort to make eye contact with every server who walked by and smiled at them to draw a response. Not ONE acknowledged me with a smile back or any sign of humanity. In fact, they just looked away and went about their business. Zero engagement; Top is the epitome of a turn-&-burn operation. Let's just make money because these guest do not know any better. The ONE server I noticed was very pleasant serving her guests with enthusiasm. She was the anomaly. The worst part is charging $35 for pure garbage. That's the normal rate for AYCE even at my go-to, but for this quality, $25 at best just for people who do not have discriminating palates and simply want to stuff themselves! In the end, I still gave an industry gratuity out of principle. It's not the staff's fault they work in a mediocre establishment. I tipped 30% nevertheless albeit I will NEVER come back. By the way, the mango mochi and Sapporo were excellent!

Amazing amazing dining experience. I'm so glad my friend recommended this place - she came 10 years…read moreago and Kabuto has still kept up the same quality experience! Tuesday dinner at 7:45pm for two booked online, about 1 week in advance. They text you to confirm the reservation and ask which omakase menu you'd like (7-course for $130 or 8-course for $185). Sitting at the sushi bar is definitely a great experience (vs a table). We arrived 30 minutes early, they were able to seat us 15 minutes later. The outside is very subtle, we almost missed it. It's in a plaza; the lot was full but there's plenty of turnover and we got a spot pretty easily nearby. Service was impeccable, prompt, professional friendly. The type of place where if you take a few minutes to go to the bathroom, no fewer than 3 people come by to push the chair in, fold the napkin, arrange your spot so it looks just right. Based on past experience doing omakase, my partner was expecting to need to go out and get a burger afterwards just to feel full. Not in this case - we definitely got plenty of food with the $130 menu! The Sakari Yuzu (in the Unique Sake section) was recommended when I asked for something light and refreshing. Both me and my partner really loved this, and we usually like totally different types of drinks. I liked it so much I'm looking up where I can buy bottles myself! It was just lightly sweet, citrusy, super tasty and refreshing. What can I say about the omakase... everything was incredible. The fish was insanely fresh (we were wondering how they get everything to Vegas so fresh). There were also warm starters and things like miso soup; such good flavor. The matcha tea they give you at the end tastes so good, I never thought I would enjoy matcha so much, and it was paired with dessert and worked surprisingly well (not too bitter). I'm usually not very impressed with tuna, yet the toro was so tasty. I've never had uni so deliciously sweet. Pricey at $337 total for two people, but honestly for how pricey Vegas is, we've had plenty of meals costing this much that weren't nearly as good. Totally worth it IMO!

overall, one of the better omakases I've had! $130 for 7 courses, with a nigiri course of 10…read morepieces. well-paced, filling without being overwhelming, and everything was delicious Appetizer - tofu, eel, caviars - jelly fish, pickled seaweed warm dish - black cod, mistake mushroom gravy, herbs, rice crackers sashimi - 2 pieces of madai - 2 pieces of young yellowtail (my first time trying this! firmer and less fatty than hamachi) nigiri - jack mackerel w/ chives and ginger - jumbo sweet shrimp - akami - sea bream w/ sea salt and lemon - chutoro - shima aji - fluke - hokkaido uni - soy marinated ikura - tamago most pieces were classic soy sauce + wasabi pairings, but there were a few more experimental combinations too. Not all of them landed for me, like the sea bream which felt a bit confusing with salt, citrus, and wasabi all at once. Also wasn't the biggest fan of the strong ginger on the mackerel, and the ikura was salty however the fish quality was excellent. the white fish were some of the best I've had, the akami was super clean and flavorful, and the hokkaido uni was incredibly sweet. They had a really unique a la carte menu too! I tried the kamashita (tuna collar) for the first time. It's even fattier than o-toro, and just melted like cotton candy in my mouth. roll - negi toro roll soup - mushroom miso soup dessert - matcha ice cream, red bean, fruits overall, I do think it lacked a few "wow" moments. I was really impressed by the opening appetizer and some standout fish, but everything else was just pretty good.
