TARU was recommended to us as one of the best sushi restaurants in Las Vegas, and after eating there, my wife and I would absolutely agree! We decided to sit at the sushi bar, which turned out to be a great choice. It gave us the opportunity to interact with the chef and watch him prepare everything right in front of us. You could immediately tell how talented and experienced he was just by watching his knife skills and the care he put into every dish. We started with the Albacore Tuna, cut into six beautiful slices. It was incredibly tender and practically melted in our mouths. It was so good that we ate it before we even thought about taking a picture! I ended up finding a photo of it on TARU's website because it deserved to be included. Next, we had a Salmon Roll, and then we decided to put ourselves in the chef's hands and asked him to make us a Chef's Surprise. He prepared a beautiful plate featuring four different types of fish, and this time we remembered to take a picture! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. To finish the evening, the chef surprised us with a dessert of fresh oranges with a touch of liqueur. It was light, refreshing, and the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. What really made the evening memorable was the combination of excellent sushi and the personal experience at the sushi bar. Our chef was cordial, engaging, and clearly very talented at his craft. Food was good, service was honestly pretty great. But the prices are just really high for what it is. The biggest surprise was the seafood ramen dish. That came out way better than I was expecting. I would happily go back and have the ramen. But if you're in Vegas to be "in Vegas" then I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. This time we are back since we fed the kids and wife craving for a great sushi. Ordered Shaginiyan platter and uni pasta to share including oyster. All was marvelous and tasty. This place can get busy and super busy but the 2 host/server maintain all spectacularly. I do feel bad for them running around and even though we waited the good side we get sake for free that keep flowing while we wait so no harm done. They know how to take care their customers. We decided to visit Taru on a whim on a random Thursday night. We were seated immediately upon arrival and were greeted by a very nice server whose name I now no longer recall. I am so sorry. I ordered an old fashioned which took a little bit longer to come out. As a result of that, the server made it super special and turned it into a smoked old fashioned. What a nice touch/service recovery. Everything we had here was divine as shown on the pictures. The sushi was fresh and the oysters, albeit being tiny, packed so much flavor. The Uni pasta was interesting, but in a good way. I would say the price point is truly warranted because of the quality of the fish and other dishes, as well as the exemplary service that is provided during the meal. We checked out Taru for the first time last weekend. The ambience is great for date night vibes. The staff is warm, attentive, ajd knowledgeable. We came before the BSB concert on Sunday at like 530 surprisingly it wasn't more full here. We got seated right away and ordered hot tea. They have a really extensive menu and we had settled on a few things to order. We got the truffle salmon sashimi, chu toro roll, winter flower roll, creamy salmon, koki wrap, soft shell crab roll. The highlights were the truffle salmons sashimi, chu toro roll and the koki wrap. All the rolls didn't have too much rice which was excellent but some of them weren't that many pieces. This was our first time checking out the Chinatown area outside Las Vegas and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here! We were craving sushi and found this place through searching the area. The 5 star reviews didn't lie. We were greeted and sat promptly. We wanted to sit at the counter to watch the sushi chefs. The fish is super fresh. Recently went here for a late night bite, I had been previously but it had been awhile. Taru is a higher quality Japanese restaurant that specializes in sushi but also has great kitchen items. It's definitely a step above all you can eat as far as quality. I would say the best sushi spot in Chinatown that is not a Omakase or Kaiseki. When I went, it was getting into the late night, which I believe they're open pretty late until like 1 PM or something. They had a late night menu with some good dishes and good value, also specials on drinks. I remember getting a crudo dish and some small plates to share and everything was delicious. Ambience here is really nice. The decor is really elevated. The restaurant is really beautiful. Also, the service is really good. Finally got around to trying this place and I am so thankful I did. This will definitely be my go to Sushi restaurant going forward. I came in Sunday evening and we were seated immediately. There were about three other tables at the restaurant so it was pretty empty. This is Located in a shopping center so parking is pretty easy to find. I ordered some sushi pieces and a few rolls and ended up paying about $100. I think this is pretty standard for the quality sushi that I received. All three rolls were exceptional, but my favorite was the one wrapped in soy paper, it was such a fresh roll. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and there was no fishy taste to it. Service was amazing and I had a pretty good conversation with the waiter there. This place is open pretty late so you'll be able to grab a late dinner and the ambience is incredible - perfect for a date night.
