Close to home for us! And the sushi is always fresh and amazing. Staff are super friendly. I always get a shrimp tempura roll and my husband does the AYCE, the lunch special Mon-Thurs is very reasonable. My favorite sushi spot on the centennial side of Las Vegas.

I believe this is the sister restaurant to Sushi Neko. I put my name on the list and waited, and waited for a really long time. Well I know a party of 1 isn't good for a restaurant as far as space they had many opportunities to seat me earlier instead they made me wait. When I was told 3 parties were ahead of me they seated seven. Now for some people it isn't easy to go it alone at a restaurant we can at least be treated better. Seated in the corner next to the bathroom, lovely. Off my soapbox. The food was good and a nice bang for your buck. I did enjoy my lunch and my waitress which is why I gave a better rating. That's all.

Honestly we can never get enough of this place - we LOVE everything about UMAMI! The food is always served expeditiously, the service staff are always accommodating and the ambiance is upbeat and friendly. No overly loud music. Tables are set a little too close but still a great sushi restaurant! The $34.95 all you can eat is very appetizing. We usually go a la carte in the lunch hours instead. Free Parking! 24oz Beers! Highly recommend

All You Can Eat (AYCE) dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada... Two ladies from church (Willie and Blossom) suggested that we meet up for them for dinner at Umami... and we did! We arrived early, found relatively close parking in the shared lot, and got our name on the list. We had about 45 minutes to shop around in that waiting time. When our time was up, we were seated in a booth in the modern, busy environment. Staff were very efficient and brought many, many dishes. It's fun to dine with different people because everyone chose things that were unusual. They knew to get the pork skewers which were amazingly good! Everything was beautiful and delicious! We would enjoy returning!

Last week I was craving sushi so I went with my mom for lunch. We haven't been there in years (since my last review of the place). We arrived about 15 minutes after they opened and I was shocked that the restaurant was packed, last time we were there it was almost empty. We got the all day AYCE so my mom could have her uni. We also ordered the sweet shrimp, hamachi kama, salmon belly... amongst other things. Everything was fresh and tasty. The stand outs were the calamari skewer, the seaweed salad was good, seafood salad, salmon belly oh and the coconut shrimp was tasty. It was so good that my mom and I went back for lunch this week... this just might become our weekly lunch date place. The pricing is very fair and it's not super far from our place. Wins all around

It was about 80 mins wait for a party of 7 on a Sunday evening at 7pm. For AYCE, I like how they don't limit how many dishes you can order per order. Boy we were starving. Everything tasted fresh and good. Food came out extremely fast. And didn't even have time to take photos. They don't want you to waste rice but at the same time they don't really have that many options without rice. It would have been nice if you can just order sashimi. They can limit to how many orders per person like they did for other items like raw oyster and nigiri. For dessert, it was one mochi ice cream per person. Flavors included mango, strawberry, chocolate and green tea.

Very popular spot, may be a wait, loud and busy, definitely not for a quiet date night. They yell something every time someone gets seated. Overcrowded parking lot, but once you're finally in there and seated well worth the anxiety. Just have a sake or glass of wine with your meal and the anxiety of it all will cool . Enjoy!

I love this sushi spot! I would say one of the best spot I have taste in Vegas. The place was poppin when my siblings and I walked in the door. Everybody seems to be happy and respectful in here. Our server greeted us with a warm welcome and was really polite. The ambiance is super clean and vibrant.. a lot of positive energy eating in place. Its a random pick from my sister, but she nailed it this time. I ordered plenty of food until I get pregnant from sushi haha. I would say the sushi that stands out to me is the White Salmon (fatty and creamy), wow that was unique and flavorful. One of the best cut of fish I have tasted. Another one is their yuzu albacore, that sauce is just perfectly blended with the fresh fish. Its amazing in my mouth. Obviously, I devoured a lot in their menu, but I will keep it sweet and short! Its worth going here! Overall, I will go back here again and definitely a recommendation to all sushi lover :)

Still one of the best AYCE sushi spots in Vegas. We come here for birthday dinners or when company is in town and we're never let down. Stopped in on a Mon around 12:30 for our daughter's bday. There was a 15 min wait but it was less than that. We were seated in a booth that was already set up with an ice water carafe, napkins, chop sticks, soy sauce & the usual ginger & wasabi dishes. Our server, like the other servers, was very busy but also very polite and greeted us with a smile when she came to take our order. She knew the drill. There would be a few rounds and was ready with her Ipad to take on all of our orders. We are some AYCE champs in our family! I go for the All Day option bc I like the No Rice options. You can only order one per person but that's standard. My husband & daughter got the lunch AYCE. My favorite items are the Seafood Salad, Salmon Kama, & baked muscles. I appreciate that I had a lot of options without rice. I don't fool myself into thinking skipping the rice makes my epic take down of a meal guilt free. However I feel less bloated and weighed down. I also order everything with no sauce or sauce on the side. Including the baked muscles and they are all still delicious bc Umami uses fresh seafood and the chefs prepare everything perfectly! My husband loves the bulgogi fries, Chicken Katsu, Lisa Lisa & Rainbow Rolls. Our daughter enjoys simple Nigiri which is exceptionally fresh tasting and buttery in texture. My only complaints, & they're minor but I noticed a slight decline in the cleanliness overall. There was a long hair on our table when we were seated, the hallway leading to the bathrooms was cluttered with what looked like storage along the wall leading from the kitchen and the bathroom itself was pretty disheveled and dark. It wasn't trucking stop bad, but I don't recall this being an issue in our past visits. A little attention to cleaning up the clutter and a bathroom sprucing would go a long. We still enjoy coming here and always recommend it to anyone in the Centennial area for delicious fresh sushi!

I absolutely love this place, food is amazing! Fish is so fresh! I love how quickly they bring the food out even when they are busy, I love the music they play, I enjoy listening and dancing as I love to eat and dance.

Stopped by Monday for the first time. Restaurant was packed at 12pm. We did their lunch AYCE for $27. Hostess/server were all so friendly and welcoming. First round of food came out super fast. Next few rounds did take a bit of time, but everything was so delicious!! Yellowtail nigiri was beyond, so smooth and buttery. We will definitely come back! I know on weekends, wait times can be over an hour!! FYI

This is my second time visited Umami and it's been 5 years since my first visit. I waited for maybe 20 mins until we got the table. The restaurant was loud and packed for lunch! AYCE sushi with great selections and FRESH! I love the scallops and hand rolls. Sometimes you have to wait for your server to come back to order more so just order ahead if you have a hearty appetite! Definitely one of my favorites in Vegas!

Umami Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Umami

Are there gift cards offered during the holidays?

For the "All-day" pass of $29.95, does that mean you can go for lunch, leave, and then come back for dinner?

The all day price is for one visit and includes a few more items than the cheaper lunch cost. There is no pass for multiple sittings

Is there a wait-list I can sign up on yelp?

You can only get on the list in person.

Do they serve any protein besides sushi?

Hi yes they had like chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken, bulgogi, different appetizers, rices, soups, and more

Is dessert available?

They gave us little cups of Ice Cream

AYCE and in the menu there are price per item, how come?

Although 99% of patrons order AYCE, you can order ala carte

When is happy hour?

Mon-Thur 9pm til close

How much is it a person and is it all you can eat?

Last time I went there which was about a month ago it was $25 per person and it was all you can eat and well worth it.

Can I eat alone in all you can eat?

Yes

Do you do parties of 10 and can we make a reservation?

The web site says they take reservations, but when you call they do not.

Do they have 'no rice' rolls?

Yes they have a couple of sashimi rolls that are apart of the all you can eat.

What does it include in the buffet?

Includes everything on the menu. Some items (marked) are one per person but rest of the items you can order more than one.

Do they have uni?

Yes! I had it with quail egg and is was good.

Do you do reservations?

I don't think most AYCE places take reservations. Just check in and they add you to a wait list.

Do they have gift cards or gift certificates?

Yes, they have gift cards.

Hours for New Years Eve?

They are open but hours very depending if it's busy or not

Can I make a reservation online? I can't get through on the phone?

Yes and no. It's not really a reservation. They just put you on the waitlist ahead of time is what I was told. For parties 8+,9+,10+. Depends on who answers the phone.

Is it all you can eat sushi during weekend?

Yes it's AYCE 7 days a week. I highly recommend this place. I come here every time I visit LV. I will start with the limited items first then sashimi then lastly the rows. 😂

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? (Especially check soy sauce, fish sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, batter mixes for wheat, barley, rye & triticale.) I have Celiac disease & have to eat gluten free.

Yes, its all gluten free. Rice doesn't have gluten. I would say avoid the sauces to be on the safe side.

Are to-go orders still 30% off?

Yes if you use the "Check-in" on Yelp.

We were very pleased and happy my daughter found this restaurant on Yelp while we were in Vegas!…read more The reviews did not disappoint us or let us down! There was some major construction in the neighborhood, so it took us in circles but we finally arrived! The restaurant is quaint and located in a strip mall. Parking was crazy, and we had quite a few panhandlers walk up to us as we waited outside for our table. The restaurant is smaller but extremely crowded. Many patrons were dining there, and we can understand why. We ordered a variety of dishes, appetizers and desserts. Each one was fresh and had great flavoring! We did not order the AYCE. We ordered several rolls and they were 5/5. The rice was fresh and so was the fish. There were not any aftertaste or seaside smells at all. They didn't overcompensate by drowning the rules in sauces. You can actually taste everything which was very refreshing. The muscles were cooked properly. They were not overcooked or undercooked. They were not too watery like most places. They actually used real missago. The only thing that I would suggest is to maybe spend a little bit more time cleaning the shells. We ordered several appetizers such as the taoyaki, tempura, edamame and a few others. I love the way the temper was nice and crispy on the outside and the shrimp was still tender and fully cooked. The edamame was not watered down and had the right amount of salt. The taiyaki actually had chunks of octopus and not just smush seafood and sauce in the middle. The desserts were okay, we asked for green tea but they gave us something different. The tempora fried ice cream was a little too battered. The service was pretty good even though they were extremely busy. They did come and check on us a couple of times and we did have to wave them down a few times. However they were friendly and definitely did respond to us when we asked for additional items. We definitely do not have any complaints about this restaurant. We will definitely be coming back. We highly recommend it.

Shigotonin is a delightful discovery off the Vegas strip (but may as well be on the strip…read moreconsidering the taste and quality of food here) in a small plaza. Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto. Cannot wait to return to Shigotonin!

Plus they offered us to choose anything on the menu to add on as extra nigiri orders.
