I believe this is the sister restaurant to Sushi Neko. I put my name on the list and waited, and waited for a really long time. Well I know a party of 1 isn't good for a restaurant as far as space they had many opportunities to seat me earlier instead they made me wait. When I was told 3 parties were ahead of me they seated seven. Now for some people it isn't easy to go it alone at a restaurant we can at least be treated better. All You Can Eat (AYCE) dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada... Two ladies from church (Willie and Blossom) suggested that we meet up for them for dinner at Umami... and we did! We arrived early, found relatively close parking in the shared lot, and got our name on the list. We had about 45 minutes to shop around in that waiting time. When our time was up, we were seated in a booth in the modern, busy environment. Staff were very efficient and brought many, many dishes. Very popular spot, may be a wait, loud and busy, definitely not for a quiet date night. They yell something every time someone gets seated. Overcrowded parking lot, but once you're finally in there and seated well worth the anxiety. Just have a sake or glass of wine with your meal and the anxiety of it all will cool . Enjoy! read more

Last week I was craving sushi so I went with my mom for lunch. We haven't been there in years (since my last review of the place). We arrived about 15 minutes after they opened and I was shocked that the restaurant was packed, last time we were there it was almost empty. We got the all day AYCE so my mom could have her uni. We also ordered the sweet shrimp, hamachi kama, salmon belly... amongst other things. Everything was fresh and tasty. The stand outs were the calamari skewer, the seaweed salad was good, seafood salad, salmon belly oh and the coconut shrimp was tasty. It was so good that my mom and I went back for lunch this week... this just might become our weekly lunch date place. The pricing is very fair and it's not super far from our place. I love this sushi spot! I would say one of the best spot I have taste in Vegas. The place was poppin when my siblings and I walked in the door. Everybody seems to be happy and respectful in here. Our server greeted us with a warm welcome and was really polite. The ambiance is super clean and vibrant.. a lot of positive energy eating in place. Its a random pick from my sister, but she nailed it this time. I ordered plenty of food until I get pregnant from sushi haha. I would say the sushi that stands out to me is the White Salmon (fatty and creamy), wow that was unique and flavorful. One of the best cut of fish I have tasted. Another one is their yuzu albacore, that sauce is just perfectly blended with the fresh fish. Its amazing in my mouth. Obviously, I devoured a lot in their menu, but I will keep it sweet and short! It was about 80 mins wait for a party of 7 on a Sunday evening at 7pm. For AYCE, I like how they don't limit how many dishes you can order per order. Boy we were starving. Everything tasted fresh and good. Food came out extremely fast. And didn't even have time to take photos. They don't want you to waste rice but at the same time they don't really have that many options without rice. It would have been nice if you can just order sashimi. They can limit to how many orders per person like they did for other items like raw oyster and nigiri. For dessert, it was one mochi ice cream per person. Still one of the best AYCE sushi spots in Vegas. We come here for birthday dinners or when company is in town and we're never let down. Stopped in on a Mon around 12:30 for our daughter's bday. There was a 15 min wait but it was less than that. We were seated in a booth that was already set up with an ice water carafe, napkins, chop sticks, soy sauce & the usual ginger & wasabi dishes. Our server, like the other servers, was very busy but also very polite and greeted us with a smile when she came to take our order. She knew the drill. There would be a few rounds and was ready with her Ipad to take on all of our orders. We are some AYCE champs in our family! I go for the All Day option bc I like the No Rice options. You can only order one per person but that's standard. My husband & daughter got the lunch AYCE. My favorite items are the Seafood Salad, Salmon Kama, & baked muscles. I appreciate that I had a lot of options without rice. I don't fool myself into thinking skipping the rice makes my epic take down of a meal guilt free. However I feel less bloated and weighed down. I also order everything with no sauce or sauce on the side. Including the baked muscles and they are all still delicious bc Umami uses fresh seafood and the chefs prepare everything perfectly! My husband loves the bulgogi fries, Chicken Katsu, Lisa Lisa & Rainbow Rolls. Our daughter enjoys simple Nigiri which is exceptionally fresh tasting and buttery in texture. My only complaints, & they're minor but I noticed a slight decline in the cleanliness overall. There was a long hair on our table when we were seated, the hallway leading to the bathrooms was cluttered with what looked like storage along the wall leading from the kitchen and the bathroom itself was pretty disheveled and dark. It wasn't trucking stop bad, but I don't recall this being an issue in our past visits. A little attention to cleaning up the clutter and a bathroom sprucing would go a long. Been here many times before. Wish they had a sushi bar but they don't so sometimes you have to wait a long time even if you're just one person. Tonight I was hoping for a late dinner and their website says they are open until midnight with last call at 11:30 p.m. 7 days a week. I arrived at the restaurant before 11:00 p.m. and was told they normally do last call at 11:15 but they already had it and that they were closed. Fine, I walked over to Buffalo Wild Wings and found out they were also closed. On the way back to my car I see three young men walk up to the restaurant go inside and get handed menus and a table. I walk back in the restaurant and the person tells me that they're still open. At this point I'm pretty frustrated and not wanting to get these people my business anymore. This is my second time visited Umami and it's been 5 years since my first visit. I waited for maybe 20 mins until we got the table. The restaurant was loud and packed for lunch! AYCE sushi with great selections and FRESH! I love the scallops and hand rolls. Late night dining. I've been here years ago and glad I stopped by again. This is an AYCE Sushi restaurant but they also allow Ala Carte. Service was also good. Nice and friendly workers. Food: Pork Skewer Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna Agedashi Tofu Spicy Tuna Roll Idk the name of the last roll but it had Shrimp Tempura and Spicy Ahi with some kind of sauce. It was so good. The pork belly was seasoned well. I wish it had more fat though like pork cheek/jowl texture. All the sushi was delicious but my least favorite was the crispy rice. It lacked Tuna on top. This was my first time actually taking advantage of All You Can Eat sushi and it was sooo worth it. What you can get for the money is a pretty good deal. I didnt enjoy my baked rolls but thats on me for trying two that were a bit too unusual. I wish there were a few more drink options. I also would love if they took reservations but I understand why they dont. Its tight/small inside and tables are close together. Theres not much room to wait for a table by the hostess area either. We just waited in the parking lot in our car. My shrimp sushi roll was my favorite thing I tried. Also the fried rice was very tasty just wish we could order it without the veggies. Definitely worth it!!! Fish is pretty fresh but the price is on point. Not the highest quality, but not the worst. Service is usually pretty good for how busy it is. The server always checks up on you and makes sure you're good. Only downside is you can't wait list online or on yelp. You have to go in person. But overall, definitely worth it. Sometimes wait can be 90-120 minutes, and other times it's relatively empty (late night weekday) so call ahead! read more

We did have to wait a bit as it was quite busy. This place is located in a nice outdoor shopping center with lots of stores. Parking can be a bit of a challenge on a busy day as there are also lots of stores nearby. Once seated, the were expecting to have a wait on the food. However, the food can out amazingly fast!! Like lightening fast!! As soon as we ordered it fast!! I'm not sure if it's still as fast right now. Our server took our orders on an iPad and before she even left our table, items were already coming out!!! The food came out faster than we could eat. But the food was also delicious!!! Everything we ordered was soooo good! Service was also excellent! We've been wanting to go back to this sushi place since we tried it. We keep getting distracted and wanting to try more places, however, I think we will make it a point to eat here on our next Vegas trip! read more

Well worth the wait and definitely lives up to the hype! We visited yesterday on a Saturday afternoon at 1pm and was told it would be about 30-45 mins wait. It ended up being an hour. All tables were filled and staff was always quick we had Janna she was wonderful. Food came out really quickly. I thought they'd have a paper menu to mark off but the waiters just take your order off an iPad. We got full just off the first round since we ordered so much. I really liked their selection of hot foods they had so many things you wouldn't be able to get from elsewhere such as galbi ribs or beef fried rice and much more! Their rice ratio was great it was so little but also soggy and falling apart since they sauce up the nigiris. It's not advertised but I like how you're able to do half rolls to try different rolls. The only roll we tried was the Burn Your Ass and it was pretty good. Their hamachi kama was my favorite it was perfectly cooked! And to top it off it was only $30 for all day/weekend dining! We've been always heard about this place on socials. We've tried to go a few times but the wait is always insane being the only AYCE sushi place in north vegas area. We finally got a chance to try it, and decided the 45 min wait since we were in the area was worth it. The decor is modern and kitchy. Staff was polite and quick. Unfortunately the food and some of the fish just wasn't that amazing. We ordered probably at least 50% of the menu trying a bit of everything. It was good enough but not worth the wait time. Was in the mood for a wasabi fest have been here several times and it never disappoints. Got there at around 11:15 in anticipation of the typical crowds that hover around the door waiting to open at 11:30, but we noticed the open sign in the window, apparently they open at 11:00. We were seated in a booth which is better since the tables tend to be close together and smallish. Ny was our order taker then Joseph took over. We ordered the all day menu which is about 4.00 more. We ordered a ton, mostly nigiri and the rice to fish ratio was good, I.e not too much rice compared to the amount of fish. The only disappointment was they didn't have uni today. My dining partner focused on miso soup, fried rice, gyoza and chicken katsu but did have some unagi (eel) and a veggie roll . All in all, pretty good sushi for AYCE. A few rough spots but overall this was a great AYCE experience! Pros: the menu is extensive!! Lots of options from rolls to nigiri to skewers to appetizers. The rice to fish ratio is the best I've seen at an all you can eat! Some of the items are limited to one per person per day but they are so worth it. The food comes out fast and our server was so kind to order us a salmon hand roll that wasn't on the menu. Fish is extremely fresh and surprisingly one of our favorite items was the tamago - made fresh to order and perfectly charred but not too sweet. The ice cream that comes with the check is really good too! Cons: the wait can get LONG. You can add your name to the list and shop around until they will text you when it's close to your turn and you have 10 minutes to check back in. On a Wednesday night they quoted us 2hrs for a table for 4 but the table was ready in 1hr. We were sat at a dirty table with dirty seats and no menus. Nobody stopped by until our server thought we were ready to order and we still needed menus. It also seemed common that 1-2 of our items from each round would get sent to the wrong table so if there is something you really want to try, make sure to check on it! read more

Been to Umami a few times already and have mostly been happy that's why we still go back. It's a pretty popular spot so there's almost always a long wait. We've only been maybe twice when the wait was less than 15 mins. So if you come, especially on a weekend, be prepared to wait. I love the interior of this restaurant. It's always clean. Now the food. We always get apps. Love their garlic parmesan edamame, tempura, hamachi kama although I don't think it's always the collar part that gets served. We also always order the yuzu yellowtail (my favorite), super white tuna, salmon belly, ocean trout, salmon and yellowtail carpaccios, q roll and the sarada lobster. Everything's really tasty. Service could be a bit better. Servers are nice and they come around often to take orders. Empty plates most of the time sit there on the table taking up precious space coz when they deliver your order, they don't take away the empty plates. I guess they have other people do that. Also, the last time we were there, our orders got delivered to the table next to us who were seated and ordered after us. We had almost the same order so it took us a while to realize that those were supposed to be for us. We informed our server and she put in our order again hoping those would actually make it to our table. Today, we got seated and almost immediately got served food even before we ordered.
