Situated across from Fremont Street in old Vegas, Oscar's is a great second story steakhouse with a classy feel and solid food. We split the porterhouse and tomahawk along with Brussels sprouts and creamed corn. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The steaks had a decent amount of fat but that comes with certain cuts and is to be expected. Our server was very kind, joked around with us throughout the night, and made the whole experience that much better. Split four ways with a bottle of wine, it came out to about $90 per person. For the price and what you get it is definitely worth a visit. There are better steak places in the area, and certainly worse ones, but Oscar's holds its own and I would recommend it. read more

We had dinner at Oscar's after hearing a lot of great things from locals, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. It's located on 2nd floor of Plaza Hotel, look for escalator. Reservations highly recommended. From the moment you walk-in, makes you feel like you stepped back in history. We sat in main dining room (aka glass dome) next to window which had great view of Fremont Street. Their delicious dinner rolls with soft butter set evening in motion. Brioche type rolls were soft and lightly salted, it was gone instantly. Loved it! We were impressed with Khameleon Cabernet Sauvignon wine that we got with our meal. Bold yet, smooth and delicious. Got 2nd bottle, couldn't resist. Pork belly and dozen oysters appetizers were amazing. Both were highly recommended by our waiter. Pork belly was lightly sweet and succulent. Oyster came with 3 types of sauces - horseradish, cocktail sauce and vinaigrette. For main, we got Bone-in ribeye and Filet Mignon. Steaks were cooked to a perfect medium and were outstanding. I usually don't put sauce on my steak, but the Bordelaise sauce we ordered on the side really enhances the flavor of the meat. We enjoyed all the sides - crispy brussel sprouts, glazed mushrooms, creamed corn and broccolini were good. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake which was rich and yummy. We were staying at the California casino and the ten of us decided to come here for a steak dinner. The staff was very professional and accommodating. We all shared the steaks and sides. We probably had too much food but it was delicious. We ordered 2 of everything which was ribeyes, New York Steaks, Cesar Salads, chopped salads, pork belly, sautéed mushrooms, Brussels sprouts and creamed spinach. Everything was delicious! Went here for my birthday dinner our last night in Vegas and it didn't disappoint! Although the service was just a smidge too slow everything was pretty amazing. My group of four were seated at a round banquette under the glass dome with a view of Fremont Street. We all had a cocktail and shared a glass of wine. We were able to get a reasonably priced bottle so we were very happy with that. The sommelier was very friendly and accommodating. Not at all snooty . Three of us shared a strip steak- perfectly cooked and sliced for us . We also shared a chopped salad, a Caesar salad , baked and mashed potatoes. It was all delicious. Our first time visiting Oscar's and it did not disappoint! The ambience is so cool here with the lights and surprisingly, I was able to take nice photos in the semi dark lighting. Our server, Nick, was excellent with a face and smile like an actor straight out of the Casino movie! Out of everything we ordered from the scallops, steak, wedge salad, meatballs, burger and the ravioli, the braised beef ravioli was the best. An explosion of flavor in your mouth and you'll be thinking about it days later. The steaks not the best we had but it's fine. I thought it would be a little more formal when we arrived but there's people dressed in jeans and caps. We will be back again when we are in the downtown area. My visiting family wanted to go here for happy hour, so we went. I have not been to this in awhile, and the last time I was here, the nonnas meatballs were so off putting I swore to never come back. We ordered Sal's Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Cardini's Caesar, and Oscar's 24oz bone-in ribeye, and everything was good overall with classic steakhouse dishes done well. Chose Oscar's for my birthday because of the reputation -- the "Casino" history, the legacy, the high-profile image. The reality was different. I had half my steak on the plate and was asked multiple times if I was finished. Not checked on -- asked if I was done. Repeatedly. The table next to us was offered complimentary drinks at the bar in exchange for giving up their table. That tells you everything. For a steakhouse that leans heavily on prestige and nostalgia, the experience felt transactional and rushed. At this price point, guests shouldn't feel like table inventory. The steak was fine. This has got to be hands-down the best steakhouse I have ever eaten at! So on Monday afternoon, we decided to pop in and eat here for the second time. I know the first time was pretty good and I loved my filet mignon this time we had the ribeye bone in and for the second time this place was amazing. I officially can say that for now this is my most favorite steakhouse in Las Vegas. I've only been to about seven of them, but this is definitely my favorite. Hours are 17:00-22:00 and Happy Hour (HH) from 17:00-19:00. We came in right when they opened and in good time. By the time we left, most seating areas were full. Made reservations on Open Table for the patio, but overheard the host tell another party that Happy Hour is only in the bar area (bar, high tops, and a few booths). All good, believe me I had all three lol. - Caesar Salad HH $8 Fresh, salty, spicy from the ground black pepper, excellent croutons. Wished it was a bigger portion, but maybe the regular portion is larger. - Oysters HH $3/ea Delish, perfect sizes, all the fixings. We didn't order many, 4 total, so maybe the presentation didn't need to be so big, no complaints though. - No Nose's Meatballs HH $12 Comes with two - smaller than baseballs, bigger than golfballs. These were sooo good. Soft but kept their shape while you cut them with a butter knife. We ate them with the dinner rolls. - Dinner Rolls no charge Pull apart, soft on the inside, nice crust on the outside. Generous portion of butter topped with shredded cheese. - Steak Fries HH $9 Topped with parm and parsley, but not much. Thick and long pieces, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Served with a side of ketchup, very simple. We requested for them to come out with the steak, like steak frites. - 18oz Kansas City Strip - Dry Aged $81 Perfect medium, thick cut on the bone. No mention of how long the dry aged process, but mild funk, so maybe 30 days? Lightly season so the flavor of the meat came out. We shared, so the chef pre-sliced the plate for us. - Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie $15, with vanilla A La Mode $4 Everything you could ever want in a chocolate chip cookie (unless you like them thin and crunchy, then this isn't for you lol). Warm and gooey with a thin crust, served in a cast iron skillet. Traditional ice cream; options of vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry. Now the food... We got the Cesar salad, Dry aged Kansas strip, Australian lobster tail, Brussels sprouts, and fries. I would probably give the Brussels an 8/10, everything else was 10/10 spectacular. The steak melted in your mouth. The lobster was the best I've ever had. The sides were surprisingly large, so I would probably get 1 next time(the fries.) Enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner at Oscar's, the legendary downtown Vegas steakhouse owned by the city's former mayor and, before that, mob lawyer. It's a big, old school place designed to make the most of the view from its floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the blazing lights of Fremont Street right outside. This is sort of a storybook Vegas dining experience, and they play into it with a good-natured, let's all have fun approach. The staff was uniformly friendly, professional and attentive. Our bartender set us up with a perfectly poured martini and a properly chilled Riesling, then on to our window-side table looking out onto the chaos below. Warm pull-apart bread was yeasty and tasty, with good-quality butter. My wife enjoyed a 9oz Filet cooked to her favorite temp (medium rare+), while I indulged in the Braised Short Rib Rossini. The slow-cooked beef was tender, with a deep, rich flavor that hit home nicely, while the charred-outside, tender-inside foie gras gave each bite an earthy, decadent nudge. The sauce was, likewise, expertly developed and really brought together all the elements of the plate, which also included sautéed spinach and whipped potatoes. A really excellent entree. Mac & Cheese was quite nicely made, striking a good balance between creamy center and crispy top. Sautéed asparagus was accidentally delivered, and we enjoyed the unexpected addition. The meal was rounded out with a complimentary birthday mousse cake, that offered a nice sweet finish after so many savory flavors. We had a decent meal here. But we were expecting a really good meal. We had an early reservation and I thought we would sit on the large patio, but Vegas was having a cold snap and it was pretty dark and cold out there... so inside it was. The dining room filled up but the bar area was really hopping and it gets loud in there. Service was solicitious and helpful. I'm a sucker for a seafood tower, so we got the small version ($95), as my SO is less a fan. It was pretty disappointing actually. The seafood all tasted mostly of water - all very mushy and not that "fresh" taste you want. I think it was also maybe missing a good sauce - it had cocktail, a mignotte for the oysters and some horseradish... maybe a creamy mayo/mustard for the crab would have helped? But nothing was really delicious. I would skip this for sure. While we had heard lots of good things about their crab cakes, our waiter steered us towards the glazed pork belly appetizer ($19). We should have gotten the crab cake. The pork belly again was OK, but nothing spectacular and I wouldn't order this again. My partner's NY Strip was good but again, there are no shortage of good and even great steaks in Las Vegas. I'm glad we visited this downtown institution, but I don't think we'll come back. What a wonderful evening! My husband had surprised me for our engagement anniversary for a dinner at Oscar's Steakhouse! It was my first time here on a Thursday evening. Our reservation was for 5:00 P.M, as soon as it opened! Oscar's Steakhouse is located in the Plaza Hotel & Casino at South Main Street in downtown Las Vegas right next to the Fremont Street Experience. It's named after former mayor Oscar B. Goodman. One of the signature aesthetic features is the main dining room. The main dining room is under the Plaza's Iconic glass dome. The restaurant's theme is old Vegas glamour. There is a lot of memorabilia of Goodman's time in office, photos, and the Rat Pack era. The restaurant also includes a lounge area and a newly opened rooftop patio for al fresco dining. The patio offers views of Fremont street! We ended up sitting inside the restaurant in the main dining room in the iconic glass dome. We had a view of main street and could see the Fremont street partially from where we were located. The service was amazing. As soon as we sat down, a team member brought over menus and waters. The menu has a wider range of steaks from bone in, dry aged, prime USDA selections, and more. If you're looking for alternatives, seafood options are available, salads, and shareable appetizers. From the appetizers menu, we ordered the following Short Rib Ravioli ($31.00) with pecorino, bordelaise No Nose's Mob Meatballs ($18.00) house made ricotta, parmesan, basil I ordered the Filet Mignon. For the sides we selected the Mac & Cheese, Creamed Corn, and the Mashed Potatoes. Service was quick! The appetizers arrived first within 20 minutes. The short rib ravioli was some of the most flavorful raviolis I've ever had. The noodles were cooked fresh. There was so much short rib inside the Ravioli. It was delicious! The No Nose's Mob Meatballs was interesting. I had a few bites of the meatball, but my husband ended up eating it all. The sauce was scrumptious though! After eating the appetizers, a team member came over to our table and picked up all of the dishes as well as cleaned the table. We ended up waiting another 20 minutes for the steaks. My Filet Mignon was cooked medium well. It had a crunchy outside, but the steak was tender and juicy on the inside. I asked for some A1 Steak Sauce too! The sides were soo good! My favorite was the Mac & Cheese. It was gooey and loaded with cheese. The Mashed Potatoes were good. I ended up mixing the mashed potatoes with the creamed corn! We ended up finishing the meal with 2 desserts - the NY Style Cheesecake and the Crème Brulee. As soon as we placed the order, the desserts came out within minutes! I didn't like the NY style cheesecake. It had a lemon flavor to it. If you like lemon or lemon flavored food, you'll enjoy the cheesecake though! The Crème Brulee was perfect! Oscars is the best! Have frequented here a number of times. The addition of the indoor/outdoor patio is amazing! We ordered filets medium rare with creamed spinach and side of the Parmesan risotto. That is not a listed side but John, our waiter, hooked us up. John was an excellent waiter as was Gabby, his helper. Karla, the manager, came by our table and greeted us and was polite and thanked us for visiting. The weather for April was so beautiful and the Fremont view was lovely. We got dirty martinis and they were so good with bleu cheese olives. We also ordered a bottle of Petite Sirah that went well with the steaks. And espresso martinis for dessert. Steak was cooked to perfection and my sister, who was with me, said she had dreams of the risotto! She said it was the best risotto she has ever had!! Reservations were made for dinner on a Saturday night and we waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated when we arrived. Our seats were fantastic which gave us a beautiful view overlooking downtown Circa and the Fremont Street Experience. It created such a great and intimate atmosphere to start the evening.   We enjoyed all the food and drinks that we ordered. The food was amazing, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The salad could have been chopped into smaller pieces, as they were served in large leaves, but otherwise, no complaints.   We were very impressed with the thoughtful, personalized anniversary card signed by the staff, along with the complimentary anniversary dessert, which added a memorable and heartfelt touch to our night.   Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Oscar's Steakhouse. Had dinner there last night and it was excellent. Although there were tables available, we decide to have dinner at the bar, which was a very good experience. They do offer corkage. It's not cheap but if you bring a good bottle of wine, it is worth it. Mat was wonderful at the bar. We didn't start with any appetizers, but I had the prime rib, which was excellent. I will say it rates among the top I've had in Vegas. Nikki had the small fillet and ordered the cream corn which she fell in love with. Especially considering the last time I dined here was way back when it was the Center Stage Restaurant!(Yes, I also swam in the pool they covered to build it ). I rarely go downtown #stripgirlie but escaping F1 brought me downtown. Honestly, the views and vibe alone were worth the trip. Sitting above Fremont with those classic neon signs glowing below, pure old-school Vegas. Dinner -fabulous! Service -fantastic! The views- Epic! **Shoutout to Nikki for taking such great care of us! We Ordered: *Sal's Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail - Big tasty prawns with a very tasty zesty sauce. *Brussels Sprouts - Cooked perfectly, parm on the side. * Joey C's 8oz Filet Mignon - Medium-rare perfection with a baked potato. * Oscar's Black Angus Burger Brioche, American cheese, minus Plaza sauce, crispy onions, add mustard. Juicy, Spot on. Every dish was flawless, zero mistakes. I also enjoyed a couple espresso martini's -Very good. Between the food, the service, and those downtown views, I'm officially a fan again. Oscars doesn't need my recommendation but I'm going to give it anyway... the restaurant is beautiful. It overlooks Fremont street. Very 60s modern steakhouse vibe... staff was well turned out and attentive. Sazzerac was perfect. It was happy hour so I got the meatball appetizer and it was excellent, moist and flavorful. Steak was perfectly prepared and seasoned. Potato was all you want in a potato and bread was excellent... Oscar's was on my bucket list and I wasn't disappointed read more

I've been to Oscar's Steakhouse twice - once for dinner in the beautiful main dining room overlooking Fremont street and another time at the bar for a drink and appetizers. Both times, the service and food were superb! Most recently was a quick drink at the bar where Matt, the bartender, took care of us. The Old Fashioned he crafted was top-notch. It was great to see their oysters and shrimp on the happy hour menu. I'd highly recommend them. Drizzle the oysters with the champagne vinaigrette and a touch of Tabasco to elevate the taste even further! At dinner, the complementary brioche bread was baked fresh and served hot. It was hard not to later slivers of butter on it. For appetizers, we ordered a half dozen oysters, broccolini, and mashed potatoes. Everything was excellent! The prime rib I ordered came out a perfect medium rare accompanied with a side of au jus and horseradish. The service was professional, attentive, and welcoming. We had no space left for dessert, yet if the meal is anything to go by, I'd bet their sweets are exceptional!
