Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail

Came to Vegas for Illenium at the Sphere and had to make a stop at Scotch 80 Prime. They have daily happy hour Monday to Thursday from 5-7pm where you get 30% off selected items. It would be a good place to go if you want a steak night on a budget. We usually sit at the bar and order drinks as well. The drinks here are strong and unique. This visit I tried the spiced old fashion which is tequila based. It tasted just like an old fashion but a little more subtle than your standard old fashion. We ordered the Cesar salad and jumbo shrimp cocktail to start off. The salad has anchovies and a long bread stick crouton. The lettuce was crisp and coated nicely with the dressing. The crouton was super crispy and had shredded parm on top. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was super meaty and large. It had a nice bite and the cocktail sauce was nice and tangy. The shrimp was also coated with a sauce as well as you can see the herbs on it. For our entree we got the 8 oz ribeye cap and wagyu short rib. The ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was tender and nicely seasoned. It was not overly buttery so you can still taste the beef. The wagyu short rib was actually a pasta dish. It came with pappardelle pasta and chorizo sausage. Our server recommended to eat the short rib with a bite of the sausage. The two complimented each other very well. The short rib was soft and the chorizo sausage was more firm. It balanced each other out as the short rib was more fatty and the sausage was more lean. The pasta was cooked al dente and had a nice bite and chew. There were tomatoes and chickpeas part of this dish as well which makes it more hearty. We ordered the toffee pudding for our desert and enjoyed that as well. The pudding came out hot with a scoop of ice cream on top. The toffee pudding was spongy and paired well with the ice cream. It had crumbles baked inside which gave it a nice crunch. The service here is really good. They came back frequently to check how we were doing and brought us water and bread. There were jokes exchanged and they really made our night. The restaurant has both bar seating and regular dining. Everything was elegant and would be a perfect date night or night out in Las Vegas. It is located at the Palms which is off this strip so it is less hectic.

Scotch 80 Brie Fondue

First time here and living in Vegas, it will probably be our last. We had tickets to a show at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms. We like to eat before the show and normally try to eat in the casino where the show will be, so I made a reservation for last night. I looked at several reviews before writing this review to see if this is the way this restaurant operates on a daily basis or if it was just our experience. Sadly, you will find they are consistent in many ways which I'll explain. Let's start with the hostess, Sadly her personality is the norm of culture from the top down here. This being an upscale restaurant in looks only, they have a dress code which is not really enforced. I saw people dressed to the hilt down to non collard shirts, from slacks, to jeans, to a few in shorts and a zippered hoodie. I'm guessing he may be a regular. I was standing in front of the hostess stand on my walker in a nice pair of jeans and a polo shirt when they opened and this young snot, looked past me to an older couple dressed in a suit and the wife in a nice dress and asked them if they had a reservation? I stopped her and said "I have a reservation" to which she immediately turned her attention to me and asked me my name. We both thought her as very rude but it did not get better from there. We were told to have a seat on the couches inside and they would seat us. A different girl took us to our table. We can easily afford to eat here otherwise we would not have been here, but again culture, judging people who are not regulars. Our waiter Noah came over with a snotty attitude, and actually provided ok service as I met his attitude with attitude of don't treat me like I don't belong. In Vegas, you can find better quality food off the strip at the same price or cheaper. Noah was attentive until they started to get busy then we got forgotten. We told Noah we drink a lot of water so please keep an eye on this since they did not have bigger glasses according to him. We like to order appetizers and enjoy them before the next course. We explained this to Noah who said he would portion our meal out but that did not happen. We started with crab cakes and the Scotch 80 Brie Fondue. We told him we wanted to enjoy this before the next course. He pushed so I ordered the Four Onion Soup Gratin and we wanted to share the Scotch 80 Chopped Salad. Noah said they would not come out until we were ready. Our two appetizers arrived and about half way through those the soup and salad arrived. I pointed out this is not how we asked for our food and he said he will make sure the main course did not come out until we were ready. For the main course I had the Scotch 80 Burger and my friend had the Diver Scallops and we ordered a side of the Mac and 3 Cheese and the Creamed Spinach. They did not come out before we were ready but my burger was clearly made and sitting until we were ready. The scallops came out cooked almost perfectly, however the cheese on my burger was not melted and the burger was cold so it got sent back. I enjoyed the sides and my friend finished her dinner before my burger came back. The crab cakes were good, the Brie Fondue as well as the salad was good. The onion soup, I've had better. It was not horrible but it was not great. My friend really enjoyed her scallops, the burger was not worth $50, it was ok, nothing that separates it from other burgers. The sides were good as well. Even though Noah passed by our table several times, he did not acknowledge us and we had to keep asking for refills as he filled waters on other tables but ignored us. His assistant was a little better but he was hustling. It got so bad that my friend started drinking water from the bottle she brought in. In reading reviews, this place is normally not very crowded except for show nights and the lackadaisical service and mistakes by the kitchen seem to be hit and miss. There was a couple we saw arguing with one of the managers because they had a reservation for two and added another person going to the show last minute. Even though the tables are mainly 4 tops, the manager said they were too busy to seat a third person at the table and told him he can sit at the bar and have a drink but no food??? Poor culture from the top down. We never leave less than a 20% tip normally but this entire experience was far below 20% more like between 10 & 15 but we still left around 18% which was more than generous for being judged and ignored. We will not be back and I don't recommend this place unless you want ok over priced food and to be judged and treated like you don't belong even though you make more money than anyone there.

I came here on a Wednesday evening for their "girl dinner " menu because I thought it was so cute and trendy and the items sounded appetizing. The service was mid but I did appreciate the manager coming out and fixing our undercooked wagyu sliders which were delicious! We also tried the shrimp toast , which was OK, the crab cake was bland, the wagyu empanadas were delicious & that chimichurri sauce was FIRE!The lumpia was also a hit! I think our server forgot I ordered fries but that was fine. The martini tower was a perfect servicing and the Lychee was my fav . To wrap it up the dessert trio hit the spot & the lemon meringue stole the show! Overall, this was a great deal & girls night out idea I'd like to maybe see a chicken and/or vegan option in the near future.. Everything is shareable and the bill was about $120 (with tip ) I'd definitely come back.

Went in for Girl Dinner with the bestie and had a wonderful time their GD menu is a a line up of their apps but in sample size portions, perfect for a catch up "how's life going" session to sip and nibble on. We ordered the sliders, lumpia, shrimp toast, empanadas, crab cake, and those came with shishoto peppers. We had to get an order of fries when one of the servers walked past and we saw their glistening crunchy texture lol for cocktails we kept it light with a Lychee Me and a Silly Rabbit. Absolutely delightful and they taste like juice so be careful. The dessert was just ok, maybe because the food was so good? Lastly, shout out to our server Joseph- incredibly courteous yet had a friendly and approachable demeanor. He was awesome and checked on us the perfect* amount since he could tell we were there to yap the entire team was amazing and we are so looking forward to coming back in the near future.

Can't wait!

2/20/26- The month of March - besides the crazy March Madness- is a birthday month -.. (which means I try to take advantage of the entire month- hehe)..but it's also the DH too.. Made a reservation via Open table - Got a confirmation text following. When I called Palms and reserved a night, the staff went ahead and added it a birthday celebration to the reservation.. So looking forward !!

Another great dinner here. I had a few family members in town, where do you go to have good food and a variety of food? So glad we came here. The four of us enjoyed the wine and a selection of food, including their "Tomahawk " We arrive during their happy hour and was able to order a few items discounted 30% off Love the elegance of the restaurant, the staff, the service, the food, will continue to bring out of town guests here

Hokkaido Snow Beef* so tender my gosh
Tina K.

Service is top notch as you would expect out of a fancy restaurant. I want to specifically talk about the dish ordered, I had a sale , a French onion soup they are great but the one that truly stand out was the Hokkaido snow beef. These are amazing, so tender and so juicy... it's so worth it for the price, I'm a girl that doesn't eat much and this was the perfect portion. Every bite has a rich beef flavor and it melts in your mouth... I've had waygu many times but if you never had this, definitely worth a try! You won't regret it!

8oz Rib Eye Cap* with Bordelaise

Service and Ambiance: our party was promptly and warmly greeted at check in, originally seated in bar area which was nice but we asked to move to the main dining area for more of a traditional steakhouse feel. Wait staff and servers were professional and checked in throughout the meal as did the sommelier who recommended a similar wine and price point to the one we originally ordered. Food: enjoyed both the bread service and the fondue with toast points to start, along with excellent cocktails, mine was a seasonal blueberry with sugar rim, not too sweet for a starter though. Just right. Both the 8 oz Fillets my husband and son ordered and my 8 oz Ribeye arrived at perfect temperature and the garlic potato puree and the Mac and cheese were excellent complements to round out our meal. Finally - do not skip dessert here, the Dubai chocolate and the Bananas Foster are events in themselves and tasty as well. Would gladly return for another celebratory dinner.

Enjoyed a wonderful private work dinner here! The crab cakes were great, the brie fondue was out of this world delicious, Caesar salad was good, sea bass was phenomenal, Millionaire Maccheroni was good, and the creme brulee was a perfect finish! Loved the decor, and the service was impeccable! Perfect celebration dining!

My girlfriends and I had such a wonderful evening here. We went to enjoy the Ladies Menu. These are smaller portions and quite affordable, but in an amazing and elegant setting. I must admit my favorite was the martini flights for only $20. The service was wonderful per usual.

New server... better at communicating

11/27/25 We returned again and ordered just a couple of dishes we felt were safe. Caesar salad, Cap steak and Chilean sea bass along with the potatoes and creamed corn. Much better than the previous visit. Eddie was great!

Empty big tables between our parties that stayed empty throughout the night also the other side had a row of empty tables as well.

We chose this lounge to celebrate a good friend's birthday because they've been promoting their "girl dinner" concept online, which looked perfect for a fun night out. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the expectations. Their policy is that they don't seat more than 12 people at one table, which we completely understood since our group was 14. We were more than happy to split into two tables and simply asked if they could try to seat the tables next to each other so we could still celebrate together. Instead, our group was seated far apart in different sections of the lounge, even though there were several open tables nearby that would have easily allowed us to sit close to one another. The restaurant also wasn't busy when we were seated around 7:15, and it actually became quieter as the evening went on. It felt like the seating decision was more about server sections than accommodating guests. For a place that actively promotes a "girl dinner" vibe online, it was disappointing that a group of 14 women coming in dressed up and ready to celebrate (and spend money) couldn't be accommodated in a way that allowed us to actually celebrate together. Being separated really took away from the birthday atmosphere and unfortunately dampened the evening for our friend. We had been excited to try this spot, but after this experience many of us agreed we probably wouldn't return.

Decided to check out Petrol Head with some friends this past Sunday for an early dinner at 5PM…read more There were five us total and when we walked in, we were able to sit anywhere we liked. They weren't busy at all, which is expected. Since there were five of us, we did try a good portion of their menu, including drinks. There were food items that weren't available that night since they were revamping their menu, which is a bit unfortunate. From the drinks menu: Pink Slip - Light and refreshing with a tad of fruitiness. Orange Overdrive - Lighter and more tropical version of a Mai Tai. Octane Fluff - Smooth and silky with a bit of sweetness. Pit Lane Passion - Fruity Petal to the Metal - Refreshing and sweet, the Kettle One Botanicals gives it a nice floral element Tokyo Drift - Strong, grassy, and gritty. My favorite out of all the drinks was the Octane Fluff. It was super delicious and the toasted marshmallow was a nice added touch. My least favorite was the Tokyo Drift -- it had Rihei (ginger sochu), citrus, layered matcha, and apple sake. While it sounded very interesting and looked amazing, it had plenty of potential but unfortunately, I don't think it was executed that well. The matcha used was really grassy and gritty -- I've actually never had matcha that tasted like grass before but whichever one they used, it sure did. The Rihei was far too strong and did not mesh well at all with the matcha. The apple sake was just there. It was like drinking three separate drinks but all at once. From the food menu: Japanese cucumber salad - tangy, refreshing, and slightly spicy. OG burger - delicious, plenty of flavor, and the fries were really good. Japanese curry fries - curry had great flavor but I did wish it had some meat. Wings - we tried both the guava heat and the miso honey. The guava heat was my favorite, it was sweet with a small kick. Their wings were juicy and super plump, which was great. Shoyu butter pretzel - pretty normal. Nothing special to be honest. Service is a tad slow mainly because the establishment started to fill up and they don't have a dedicated server to the tables. It was fine for us but if you get impatient, that is something to note. Prices are reasonable for the food but it is a tad high for the drinks. They do have a happy hour as well but it doesn't start until 11PM, which is super unfortunately. I would love to see a reverse happy hour sometime for them cause I simply cannot eat that late. I'm honestly pretty impressed with our first visit. It's very rare where I find a bar where I like almost all the food AND the drinks. Everyone in my party would agree as well. They are actually expanding their hours to include brunch on Saturday and Sundays. We can't wait to go back again. Definitely recommend.

The atmosphere inside is simply top notch, its themed head to toe and for me personally, I always love a place that's well themed. The drinks were all good, and thankfully they have non-alcoholic versions for many of their drinks. No complaints on any of them, they were exactly what we were looking for. I will say the prices are a little steep, but this isn't someplace you are likely to come to on a regular basis, so I can excuse it. (And if you do like the vibe and come often, you can always get non tiki drinks cheaper.) Overall very very fun, wish we had come a little later because their was a band that was setting up and got maybe three songs in before we left, but they sounded pretty good!

Intricate gears, corsets, and brass galore; airships drift through sepia skies as The Alchemist Bar…read moreand Restaurant keeps my clockwork heart ticking. Upon setting foot, you are easily transported into a newfound universe, a reimagined Victorian Era, should it be powered by steam rather than electricity. A sense of mischief within every corner, down to the cocaine chambers, which explicitly discourages patrons from summoning demons. Should malevolent entities roam the streets of Sin City, I have nothing to do with such necromancy. Beyond the aesthetic, the service elevated all else. Amanda, our bartender, was effortlessly charming, sweet, welcoming, and knowledgeable in a sense that every recommendation she had for us felt as though it were a present rather than a suggestion. I jokingly told my mates that every time she checked on our table, I felt as if I shed new skin as her amiable, warm presence baptized me. As if she had not graced us enough, she surprised us with a tofu cheesecake layered with raspberries and strawberry sauce, alongside extra beverages. All of which were indulgent, balanced, and quite the delicacy. The general manager, Will, was holstered with identical cordiality as he checked on us in a sincere manner and even offered us their house-made taco sauce. 'twas a minuscule gesture that highlighted our vegan tacos as it was a supplemental, bright-nuanced depth to an already astute dish. Chef Kario's taco flight read as though 'twas a Pulitzer Prize-winning culinary narrative. The jackfruit barbacoa had a smoky, yet sweet profile. The mushroom with brown mole had an earthy heat. The cabbage with notes of pumpkin (?) was bright, textural, and slightly nutty. Each piece was grounded by their house-made tortillas that were tender, slightly charred, and essential to tying everything together. Furthermore, the drinks deserve their own reverence. Why be present at Sin City shows when liquid entertainment lies before you at The Alchemist? Fountains of Bellagio, take notes. Anyhow, the Matcha Tonic was theatrically poured from a teapot that I forgot I was drinking alcohol considering I casually sipped my beverage as if 'twas an afternoon tea. Perhaps, I am an alcoholic? Do not tell my sponsor.. I mean...mother (?). I digress, the coconut water's sweetness and citrus notes married well with the matcha's savory backbone. Every sip is an invitation to reflect. Moreover, the Lychee Bloom's expressive smoke bubble erupts into a transient aromatic veil and I am promptly magnetized. The lychee conducts with a lavish, fragrant profile whilst the roses offer a floral composure. I relish in a multi-dimensional vibrancy. Where the matcha tonic contemplates, the lychee bloom bewitches. Where there are elixirs, lavatories to conjure up spirits, and AMANDA, I, too, am present.

Our bartender/server was very sweet and let us sample one of the drinks before ordering which I thought was pretty awesome. AND they came in these cute test beakers which was very on theme! For drinks we got the butter me up from her recommendation and the Charandas incantation. The charandas incantation was surprisingly tasty although the butter me up was not I love an old fashioned which I thought this would be adjacent to, but honestly it tasted like nothing but alcohol and MAYBE a hint of caramel at the end. Just pretty alcohol forward so it tasted like I was taking a shot the whole time. The other thing that was a little off putting was the fact that they had all these fun cocktails... and they were served in a plain glass with a massive ice cube I think with the name of the Alchemist - I just expected more. Food we got the Peanut noodle cups because honestly the menu was a little confusing. It had Asian, Mexican, American, and Peruvian food all together.... And none of it looked amazing. The Peanut noodles were a little heavy on the fish sauce and kind of hard to eat, but overall ok. I like the idea of here, and I think there is potential. But personally I can think of quite a few other places I would go first.

We decided to go with the tasting menu tonight since we hadn't been before and wanted a good sampling of what they had to offer. It did not disappoint. Not a single dud on that menu. Faves were the Oyster Duo, Octopus, Foie Gras and the Por Flank. Every single dish was flavorful and well seasoned. The service was outstanding and attentive with one tiny hiccup, not big enough to take a star away. I had specifically noted on our reservation that it was our Anniversary and it would have been nice if it was recognized but was not. Wasn't looking for any freebies but would have been a bit more special if mentioned. Not end of the world but a bit disappointing. He canceled the reservation on Mother's Day and was fully aware of the stated $25 per person cancellation fee ($100 total). Unfortunately, the restaurant charged his card three separate charges totaling $250 ($100, $100, and $50). He contacted the restaurant and was initially told the refund would be processed within 3 days. After following up again 3 days later, he was told the employee who handles refunds was out of the country and that he should not have been told 3 days. He then received an email from Thaddeus confirming the cancellation fee was only $25 per person and stating he could use the $100 as credit toward a future visit if he showed the email at the restaurant. However, the additional $150 in charges was never addressed. My son replied to the email asking about the extra charges and still has not received a response 3 days later. At this point, he is handling the matter through his bank's fraud department. Very disappointing experience, especially with the lack of communication and accountability. I would not recommend this place.

I feel a bit of shame being a Vegas local and sharing that I've legit NEVER been to VooDoo Lounge…read morebefore this past weekend. And what a cool spot it was! We were at the Rio to see a show, and after the show decided we wanted to keep hanging out there and enjoying. At one of the bars we randomly stopped at on the property before the show, one of the bartenders gave us a buy one get one free cocktail for VooDoo Lounge if we went. And there was no cover charge to get in! Sold! We decided to head up there after the show. This spot is locaed on the 51st (I believe) floor of the hotel but you enter on the second floor and take an elevator up. After a quick check our IDs and search of our bags and whatnot, we were able to take the elevators upstairs. As soon as we got there, I booked it for the outside patio. I mean, come on, you have to! This is really what sold me. WOW! It's STUNNING up there! Amazing views on the Strip unlike anything I've ever seen before. There was also a DJ up there and he was playing great music. For a Friday night, it wasn't super busy, but still really nice. We were able to sit wherever we wanted, as the tables and lounge seating was totally open for everyone to enjoy. We took in the beautiful views and each had a cocktail. Our server was outstanding and did a great job waiting on us. Sadly, we were getting a Vegas thunderstorm underway so the DJ had to stop and security all ushered us inside. Still, nonetheless, this was such a cool experience and one I'll continue to talk about. Definitely go if you can!

It was a Saturday night at 9pm, we were greeted by very friendly staff both downstairs and upstairs. We went out to the terrace to enjoy the view and took over a lounge seating space. The 3 of us ordered a fishbowl which was great but we didn't stay longer because the place was empty and the DJ played the same beat for the entire hour we were there. It's a shame that this has gone so downhill. When I went to the bathrooms I noticed the water damage on the walls and the lack of maintenance so it sealed my fate to not return for a while. This used to be the spot but it's a little scary anywhere in the casino.
