This review is a long time coming. I don't typically write reviews, but I have not been able to get this out of my head ever since I bought my car here. I bought my 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback on 12/01/19 from the Sales Associate, Renato Flores. I had already done my research and received a quote ahead of time on an auto loan through Chase Bank that I brought in to the dealership. Renato walked me to the back and showed me the Honda Civic in Sonic Gray. That is when I noticed this odd orange substance covering a good portion of the passenger side of the vehicle. Renato said he didn't know what that was and they had a second car of the same model in their warehouse. He told me we could just use this car as the test drive. I drove the car around and found it to suit my needs, so we sat down at a desk on the sales floor and discussed my options as far as purchasing the car. The discussion took quite a while, with Sebastian Hun coming over to assist Renato with the sale. I felt a little uncomfortable with this, but it seemed as though Renato was less experienced when it came to negotiating. They gave me an okay trade on the car I brought in and Renato assured me they would get the Civic from their warehouse. This is where mistakes were made... Instead of Carson Honda using my quote from Chase Bank, they decided to run my credit again without a thought of asking me and offered me the same quote I received from Chase Bank. I should have left there, but pressure got to me and I signed for my new car! They walked me over to Osvaldo Vargas, who assisted with finalizing the papers while Renato went to pull my new car up. (Side note, Osvaldo was nice and helpful throughout the signing process.) I walked out of the side entrance to see the brand new Hatchback!... And then I looked closer at the passenger side of the car. Lo and behold, there were small traces of the orange substance still on the side of the car. I opened the passenger door and there was the bright orange substance in the crevices of the door. When I asked Renato if this was the same car that was in the back, he decided to lie to my face and tell me that it was not the same car. This is when the disappointment and regret began filling my body. I felt that no one in this place was honest and could not be trusted. I sat in this dealership for hours just so I can be lied to? Renato offered to take the car over to be cleaned... again. He took the car to the back at least two times in order for them to finally clean off the most noticeable parts of the orange on the car while I just stood outside waiting. Congrats on the sale, but, sorry, I will never recommend anyone buy a car from your dealership. This is the situation people fear when they are shopping for a car. TL;DR - It was a terrible experience. Dealership ignored my pre-quoted loan, ran my credit again, and used a different bank instead. Felt a little ganged up on by sales team. Sat around for hours waiting. Car I test drove had mysterious orange substance on it when I arrived and was lied to, saying the one I bought was not the car I tested. Only reason for two stars instead of one is Osvaldo's customer service. read more

I purchased my 2013 Honda CR-V from this dealership. With this 1st purchase I purchased a Honda Care package, however I was charged for Oil change and maintenance at every time I was going here. Nevertheless, I came back today to buy a new car. As a returning Customer I thought I will get a "Welcome back!" attitude from their Customer service and Management. Not at all! I really disappointed in this place and will never return anymore, as they lost me forever. This place is a rip off! I got a new better car for less and very good Christmas deal from Honda of Long Beach then Carson dealership was trying to sell me. Anna G. Long Beach read more

Went in with a concern with my dear, Zul, she purchase a 2020 Honda Accord Sport in August. Was greeted by General Manger Dean Hayek, who was very polite and attentive to hear us out. To make long story short I want to starting by thanking the whole Carson Honda Team. Especially Tim Seoung, Dean Hayek and Joseph Jorge, they did everything in their power to show Zul she was important and a valued costumer. The time they took to make things right is greatly appreciated. I recommend Carson Honda because they are a friendly and welcoming environment. I have been a Honda owner for the past 20 years and I can tell you I am 100% satisfied. My next Honda purchase will definitely be from Carson Honda and I know they will provide me with VIP service and make sure I drive out with my new car feeling super happy. Once again thank you Carson Honda team for putting a smile on my friends face. See you soon read more

We had the best experience buying a 2018 Honda Accord by 3 very dedicated and extremely professionals. Tim, the manager worked it to where we were on target with our projected budget, Miguel Alfaro the best salesman ever, gave us everything we wanted and more. Lily, the sales manager expedited all the paperwork in a timely manner because we were pressed for time. I will recommend and purchase all my future cars from this friendly and customer service oriented dealership. They even fed us the best tacos ever. Big Mahalo to this team of awesome workers. read more

Worst place to buy a used car, I bought a 2002 Honda accord with 57,722 mile on it in April 2018, with in 1year and six months of me having it and taking it to the honda dealership to get all of the services (oil change and all that they recommended) driver side window regulator went out had to get that replaced transmission is about to go out on me any day engine has a leak and driver seat no longer folds forward side mirrors no longer move and now the driver side window is about to go out as well, it cost $7,714.35 was able to get a loan so It came out $12,000 and some change for a complete LEMON,and no help from anyone towards the end they tried to say it was the way I took care of it but I took it to get serviced everytime to one of there dealership. So disappointed in Honda they supposedly last forever or 300,000 plus miles. I honestly believed there service department did a fuel service inspections on all there used cars before they are sold. Re-think your purchase on used a car. read more

Bought my car here. So far so good. No problems. Thanks to Cesar Guttierez, he's an amazing salesman. Beforehand, I've come here before for oil changes and again... good customer service. Thanks Carson Honda, you guys are cheaper and more efficient than Gardena Honda read more

I had a great buying experience here and was going to rate Carson Honda a solid five stars. The two star penalty comes from the responsiveness after my purchase. I traded in my car when I picked up my new CR-V. I left my work badge in the old car and didn't realize it until I arrived in San Francisco. I've called four times now. A few times I was told my salesman would be in the office tomorrow. That was on consecutive days. I was put on hold for a manager. The receptionist twice picked up my line and made an announcement for a floor manager to answer the phone as if she had pressed the wrong button. No one came on the line to talk to me. I also emailed the salesman to the same email he had given me to send some documents to on the day of purchase. No reply. All I really wanted was an answer to the simple question of whether my badge was there and if they could send it to me or if I should get a replacement. This neglect of the simplest of requests makes me question what sort of treatment I would get if I had a serious issue with my car. I think I will cancel the extended warranty they sold me and purchase it though a different dealer. Verdict: Happy with purchasing experience, more than disappointed with lost sales follow up Update: Now down to one star, really ought to be a zero. I purchased the extended warranty at the same time I bought the car with the "can only get this today," and "you can cancel at any time", etc and etc. Well, I've been trying since the end of November to have the extended warranty cancelled and the money credited to my account. I did get a response to the first email I sent asking for more information. (Maybe that's where they earn their one star.) I sent the requested information, but can't get a peep out of them since. I've sent four or five emails with no reply given. I've even included finance director Tracey Kesterman on the last couple emails. Still no response. I've made phone calls. They're busy, "but someone will call me back." I haven't received a single call from them. I don't know if it is the company's policy to stall on refunds as long as possible or if it's general incompetency. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and attribute it to the latter. At this point it feels fraudulent and I probably need to waste more of my time pursuing a case with the dept of consumer affairs, or the state attorney general, or whoever you need to talk to to pressure a business to live up to their promises. As I said above, the purchase experience was great. Everything else is rock bottom the worst. read more

I came back to the dealership because I try to be a loyal customer. I purchased a vehicle in 2012 with an extended warranty for Lo-Jack. Unfortunately the car got stolen. But since it was under the warranty, I had to file a claim. Let me tell you, If you're not persistent and pro-active in claims, then you will lose. First of all, When I called Lo-Jack, someone there told me that The dealership has to file the claim (I wasn't able to get the name, but it is supposed to be on a recorded line right?) Secondly, Tracy was nice enough to help me out initiate the claims, but then, there was no answer from Lo-Jack regarding my claim after 2weeks or more. So, I decided to call Lo-Jack myself. Then, they said that I should have started the claims. (Tracy was mentioning that to me to because she never heard such a thing that they have to start the claims process). When I contacted Lo-Jack, they gave me the number for SAFE-GUARD. This is where it becomes ridiculous. Lo-Jack sent them copies of the documents I emailed and faxed. I spoke with their reps (I have the names and dates of the conversations) they in turn gave me the. email and fax number where to send the documents, which I did, MULTIPLE TIMES (I have the transmital reports by the way). Everytime I checked with SafeGuard, they always ask me for the same documents and I would tell them the same thing over and over again that I sent the documents already. Today, I spoke with Fosa since I got an email from SafeGuard that they got some of the documents. Unfortunately, the credit of $2500 should have been applied when I purchased the new Vehicle and I told her that there was no credit applied. She mentioned that that's how it works -- How am I supposed to know that now right?! Since I have been tossed around multiple times. Let me go back to the day I purchased the new vehicle, I mentioned to the Finance officer, Ozzie, that I have a pending claim with Lo-Jack - he even pulled out the paper if I were eligible for the claim, But since it was past 100k with mileage, It wasn't applicable anymore. But I made him aware of the extension of 5000 something and that I requested for a copy of the contract for Lo-Jack and the extended warranty. Another individual gave me a copy of the blank Lo-Jack warranty that was signed by I don't know who since it was just a signature and I sent that to SafeGuard. As a consumer, I will not recommend products from Safeguard for their warranties. I will not stop until there's a clear answer for the mishandling and miscommunication that the car dealership and SafeGuard Has. It is NOT FAIR for consumers to be treated like this. We have already been violated and this is how they treat you -- adding insult to injury. The sales industry hasn't changed at all. They're just after sales and the fake pleasantries that these companies will forever linger. That is a disgrace. If there's anyone I'm good about is Erwin in the service dept. read more

Worst customer service I have every had. I went in to have my alternator change and was told I had to pay for a diagnosis check and it would be deducted once I approved the work for 300 to 600. They called me back and told me the price would be 877. Not the original quote of 300 to 600. I paid them the 122 for the check and gladly picked up my car. The service advisor, MARISOL, does not have any communication skills at all. I came in for an appt for a recall service. She does not know customer service at all. First, she did not introduce herself. So when I signed up for the shuttle service, I was asked who was my advisor, and I'm like- I don't know her name, she never introduced herself, all I know she sits on the 1st table. Second, she did not say anything on the expected time frame for the recall. That's the whole point that you are speaking to a service advisor, right? Third, I told her that I will avail of the shuttle service. She did not tell me where to sign up, or should I already wait for the shuttle coz she signed me up already, or where to wait. She was like- here are your paperworks and I'll call you once the car is done. And she was already walking away. Fourth, when she called me that my car is ready for pick up, no info offered as to how the recall service went, or let's say she'll discuss it when I pick up the car, but at least give a quick update on how it went. Marisol was unprofessional and should be re-considered if she is to remain an employee or not. read more

I really don't appreciate when businesses try to take advantage of the customer. I came to replace a key and was told I would have to pay to reprogram the key once I purchased the new casing and blank key which they would additionally charge me to cut. I asked point blank why I had to pay for reprogramming since the inside mechanism was in tact. He said because the chip is in the damaged casing of the key. That is not true! I replaced it myself and saved myself well over $100 and no reprogramming was needed!!. I know that is true of the older model keys but I'm sure the employees in the parts dept are well aware of which type of models and years require reprogramming. Especially since the key was in pieces they could have checked in one glance. I did. Ridiculous! I fixed both my keys myself and saved over $160 they wanted to charge me. Rip off!! read more

Made an appointment for 1015, I was here a little early, sat for several minutes with no idea what to do, nobody greated me or addressed me until the bored looking girl finally came over and told me somebody would be with me soon. They weren't. After standing around for ten minutes a guy finally came over and stated the process, at 1024, my car was brought into the shop. Attempted upsells the entire time. They came out and told me I had nails in two tires and they could patch them, it would add an extra 20 minutes. Two hours later, my car has been sitting in the done area for 20 minutes, I asked if it was done and told I had to wait for my assigned handler. My handler never showed back up. I asked another handler about it finally and he said he would close it up. I'm not coming back to Carson Honda. I was not a happy customer. I drove from San Diego with my husband to test drive 2019 Honda Pilot certified preowned. We really liked the car but later when we bought the car, we found out that few things were not disclosed to us. The sales representative Renato F. was helping us and while we were dealing with financial representative to set up the paperwork, he promised to clean the car, check on other things we requested and make sure that all accessories that were checked on 182 point inspection were included. We were already pre-approved from our credit union for the loan, but for some reason noone knew how to submit the paperwork to our bank. That should be a red flag. Anyway, they said we can take the car for 5 days and submit the paperwork they gave us to our bank and they will know what to do. We spent most of the day there and they still could not set up our loan with the credit bank.... Later we learned that only one person (Tracy) in Carson Honda dealership was helpful with setting up our pre-approved loan with credit bank. The rest of the team is pretty much useless and just takes your money. We also found out later that the car was not cleaned well, the air filter was dirty and some accessories not included. We are still trying to get the accessories (cost $200) but dealing with them from San Diego is not getting us anywhere. We contacted manager, associate manager, representatives but no response from any of them. So, we went through Honda corporation and awaiting some help. Pretty much the whole experience was a fiasco and we would not be back. read more

Since Memorial day, I started searching to buy a more economical car. I had already set my eyes on the car that I wanted at another dealer. My father was going to pay cash for the vehicle and they said that it would be $25000 out the door. Dad asked for me to search Auto Trader. We found an ad that they had the vehicle that I wanted for under $20000. Lorenzo our sales agent was out there when we arrived. I told him that we were looking for a Honda Element. He first showed us a 2010 used one which costed the same as a basic brand new one. I told him that what we were looking for and he took us right away. They had 3 of those vehicles. We test drove the car and of course I was in love with it already. We went back inside dealer and he told us that the cost to get it out the door was going to be around $2000 more of the asking price. He went to finance to get it lower and came back with a higher amount. Dad and I discussed it and we told him that we would take car and pay cash if the amount was only the $2000 extra out the door. They made it happen. Everyone was very courteous. He had the car cleaned and filled up the tank of gas. The whole process took less than 2 hours. I love the car and everyone was very courteous at the dealer. Thank you Lorenzo. He still has to come and clean my house LOL just like the tv ad. read more

I wish i could put 0 stars , i made an appointment to get my car serviced here. This was the first time going to this Honda dealership being it wasn't to far from my house. This place is TERRIBLE. I've dealt with both the Sales & Service sides and both departments left me unimpressed. Sales: I was looking to buy a car & the sales guys here were either rude or didn't care about what I wanted and would just suggest things THEY wanted to sell. The guy asked me what type of car I was looking for & I told him a car like the civic or the accord. So, tell me, why does he proceed to show me EVERY SINGLE TYPE of car that is NOT similar to those at all?! He showed me like a convertible, a truck, etc. Exactly what I didn't want. Then, the sales guy wasted my time asking about what color I wanted. Um, why don't we settle on a car model first THEN discuss stupid things that don't matter like the car's color. One of the other sales guys (on a different visit) actually made fun of me & laughed at me. Great, sounds EXACTLY like someone I want to do business with! One another visit, I was ready to buy a used car, but I wanted them to go slightly lower on the price. They refused to lower the price at all. Like, not even go down by $50 or anything! They basically said, take it or leave it at the current price, so I left! I ended up going to a different Honda dealership around 30 miles away to finally buy my car, and not only were they willing to work with me and lower the price, but their sales guy was extremely nice also! It's a shame too because another family member will likely be buying a car soon too, but it definitely won't be from this dealership. Service: I used to get my oil changes here and those went fine, although a little overpriced. What I did like (& probably the only pro about this place), is that they offer complimentary snacks & drinks, wifi, and cable. So, at least you have something to do while they're working on your car. However, what I didn't like was what happened at the end. At the end they look over your car and tell you about any work that needs to be done. So if your fluids are low or something is on the verge of breaking, they'll tell you. Well, on my most recent visit, they told me I needed thousands of dollars worth of work done and that it was super important to get it done asap and did i want to get it done today? I declined, since I always get a second opinion before doing any major work. So, after leaving the dealership, I took my car to get looked at my another auto mechanic & took it to another person after leaving that place as well. Both said I didn't need any work done and that my car was fine! Wait, whaaaat?! I went from desperately needing thousands of dollars worth of work done on my car, to my car being fine?! On the plus side, the service department people are very nice & all that, but misleading me into thinking my car needs work when it doesn't, really isn't the best way to win my business. Bottom line, either the mechanics at Honda are incompetent or they're scamming you. read more

Had to revise this review. When I wrote it I hadn't gotten in the car yet to drive away. But when I did, I noticed that the TPMS light was on and the car was still pulling to the left even after an alignment they said they did. I asked for a multipoint inspection. They told me about the bad brakes the boots, the tie rods, the spark plugs, etc. You'd think that somebody would have seen the TPMS illuminated and said something about that too OR fixed it. So from 4 stars Carson Honda gets knocked down to 2 because driving with faulty alignment is never fun. Service advisor Manny is tops! Very friendly, knowledgeable, easy-going, thorough too. The service staff were attentive and quick with answering questions I had. They've got a small lounge area with a TV and clean bathrooms. We recently moved from being a long time VW family to owning a Honda. What I'm missing most right now about VW Service Centers is the courtesy car wash! i went to this place maybe couple of weeks ago, on the service department they are nice and accommodating Pros: they have a nice area for service customers, coffee machine is awesome, TV's and nice and clean couch to sit on Cons: the problem is the ladies behind the desk is not paying attention on their job and just chatting behind the desk, i saw my car pulled out from the service area, so ive waited for them to call me if its ready, its been almost an hour until i get bored waiting and asked if my car is ready, the guys who assessed the cars said its been ready, and wondering why i have not get called to pick up my car, and assisted me to the cashier, i was upset, all this time i was waiting patiently my car have been ready for pick up. really i have to ask them to do their job. and last thing i went home, good thing I open my hood and guess what ive see, the oil cap is sitting by the radiator not where it suppose to be. I saw the oil change special on their website for V6 at $36.95, so I decided to to set an appointment for my pilot to have its oil changed on that same website. My appointment was confirmed and actually stated my cost-$36.95 (appt # x04h95ez4l). So I drove up to Carson Honda a little before the appointment time. A big guy, service advisor I presume, who looked like a linebacker attended to me, told him I have an appointment for oil change and looked at his ipad. He checked things out, then told me my total will be $50+ for the oil change. I told him I had set this service for $36.95, he said no, I should have a coupon printed out. I told him its in my phone, and he said "AS LONG AS YOU CAN PRINT IT OUT." WHAT A STUPID REPLY! Do I look like I have a printer on me, or in my vehicle?!! Anyway, I had it cancelled and drove off. Since I was so disappointed, I went to Long Beach Honda. My disappointment turned into delight when their oil change service is for $$32+. So an older service advisor checked my pilot out and told me that Im a little early for an oil change. My vehivle is still good for about a thousand miles before oil change is due! I so much appreciate the honesty! He explained things, including codes representing kinds of services and how often I should do it! Carson Honda, why cant you be like Long Beach Honda? This is how you loose customers, you know? read more

I brought my 2006 Honda Civic Si in for a couple warranty jobs: something related to the control arm & paint recall due to premature wear. I was solicited by a nice lady via phone almost a year ago to have the dealership service the control arm. I finally go around to calling the dealership about 1.5 - 2 mo. ago and inquired about the paint recall notice that I had received in the mail. Carson Honda came to mind because I appreciated the fact that someone had proactively called me to bring an issue to light and offered to fix the control arm recall for free. They got me in touch with the a service advisor by the name of Tony and I brought my car up to the dealership all the way from San Diego, which is where I currently reside. To make a long story short, I received my car in a worse condition from the time I dropped my car off. The work was outsourced to a local body shop where they repainted my hood, trunk, and a couple other body panels per the recall notice. There was bare metal exposed at the edge of the hood, and most people understand that when moisture meets metal rust will form. I was also missing the panel that covers the drivers side sideview mirror on the inside of my car, missing tabs in the engine compartment, the drivers side headlight stopped working, and I had my subwoofer wiring exposed along the drivers side floor. I left my car for 3 weeks the first time around and I had to resort to borrowing my girlfriend's car to get around because the dealership doesn't offer loaners. When I picked up the car at the dealership and learned about the shoddy job the body shop did, I had no choice but to take my car back down to San Diego because I didn't have the ride situation figured out then. Still, I was not offered a loaner or rental car but I was merely offered a discounted rate while the dealership had to figure things out with the body shop. I ultimately ended up bringing my car back to have the dealership address all of the issues I noted above and waited another week. I was finally offered a free rental car the second time around but it was only going to be available on a Monday, which was no use to me because I had made the trip up from San Diego and I would be missing work on Monday so that I can get a free rental. Additionally, I was told that I'd get an answer by mid-week but there was no follow-up. I ended up calling on Friday evening after work because my patience had run out. Tony was unavailable at the time but I was told by another individual by the name of Louis that he wasn't totally sure what the status of my vehicle was... I explained my horrible situation to him and he ended up calling me back to let me know that all of the issues I brought to light had been addressed. I picked up my car that Saturday and vowed never to come back to this dealership again. My advice to the dealership... don't do business with business partners that will give your own business a bad name, and don't be so quick to offer a service if it won't get done right the first time around. read more

DONT COME HERE this place is a bunch of thieves and rip customers off. Wanted to rip my daughter for $375 for fuel change and brake fluid change. The car has 16000 miles not even recommended in the owners manual. When I spoke to the manger he advised all Honda location advise to do this repair. So I called 2 Honda Dealers and don't recommend any of this. I spoke to the manager and he started coming with a bunch of excuses. I can't believe such a big dealership would want to rip off customers and especially a military customer. Please save yourself from this horrible dealership. I will also be contacting the Honda Headquarters. read more

"WORST" dealership ever. My personal experience bought a car here not even a month driving it and it starts making a funny noise. I take it in and they say the car is missing transmission fluid. By then I'm like wait a minute don't you guys do a 150 point inspection on every car? The sales rep that helped me tries to play it off like yea but as long as the fluids/oils meet the requirements we leave them as is. People Be careful when you drive off with these cars not only was it missing transmission fluid but power steering fluid as well. This is not a dealership worth buying from. read more
