I would strongly recommend doing your research and shopping around before purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. Although they don't advertise dealer markups on their vehicles, my experience involved sales tactics and added products that I felt were not clearly disclosed. I've worked in car sales for years, so I'm familiar with how the buying process works. The main reason I ended up purchasing here was because this was our first stop, my daughter was extremely excited about the vehicle, and I didn't want to make her wait through the weekend while we continued shopping. Seeing her happy ultimately outweighed my better judgment, and I allowed myself to overpay. One major issue involved an alarm system. Since the vehicle had just arrived, I could tell the alarm had not yet been installed. I specifically asked the F&I manager how much I was being charged for the alarm, and he told me I had NOT been sold one. Now, two weeks later, I'm being contacted by their alarm company asking me to schedule an appointment to have it installed. That raises serious concerns for me about transparency during the finance process. They also use a third-party appraisal through Edmunds for trade-ins, and the amount I was offered was nowhere near the value I was seeing for the vehicle. To put the negotiation into perspective, their first offer on a 2026 Honda Civic was approximately $649 per month with $2,000 down. For someone who has experience selling cars, that alone told me I needed to pay very close attention to the numbers. I take responsibility for agreeing to the deal because I wanted to see my daughter happy, but someone with little or no car-buying experience could easily walk away paying significantly more than expected or agreeing to products they may not fully understand. Based on my experience, I would recommend getting everything in writing, carefully reviewing every line of the contract before signing, and comparing their deal with other dealerships before committing. I want my second pair of keys they promised me 5 times, and then promised me again on the phone. All I asked was for someone to take accountability, acknowledge the mistake, and work with the credit department to correct what appears to have been an employee error. I posted about this 10 months ago, and I am writing to provide an update on this situation. My lease ended in November 2022, and I purchased the vehicle. When finalizing the purchase agreement, the finance manager asked me to sign without offering any explanation, resulting in over $9000 worth of add-ons being included to my finance amount. I immediately submitted a request to that same finance manager to cancel the add-ons, but as of 08/11/2026 nothing was done, the charges still remain part of my loan balance. I'm sure that he intentionally ignored my request for his own personal gain. I intend to confront them with these facts and demand a full refund. if they refuse to comply, I am prepared to take legal action. I recently purchased a new 2026 Honda CRV Hybrid from Gardena Honda and wanted to share how wonderful my experience was with David, Amalia, and Shaddi. I have been a Toyota owner for the past 13 years and truly never thought I would drive anything other than a Toyota. But the moment I test drove the Honda, I completely fell in love with it -- and so did my 9-year-old! Although the entire process, from the test drive to finally getting the keys, was long and a bit exhausting, David and Amalia made the experience feel warm and comfortable for us. This review is long and detailed so If you have problems smogging your Honda see them about it and I'm sure they can help you -- California has become a nightmare with the new regulations. This update is to praise the service team -- the drama that I have been through at the test only smog station to get my car smogged with the new computed regulations in California has been a nightmare. My Honda Accord Sport failed the smog pre test I was absolute perplexed because my car is in fantastic shape and my prior cars have always passed a smog test but now the computer for my Accord says "Cat Not Ready" . He can't smog it because it will fail and says that I don't drive it enough and to drive the car over 200 miles and try again I do drive my car so I'm like wth -- anyway 4 more attempts later it failed again and again now I'm annoyed. My daughter drove me on the freeway all over Los Angeles to Inglewood 60+ miles and back then and it failed. My sister drove all over Los Angeles Glendale Manhattan Beach Downey and back it failed wth is the problem I'm soo over this ish with the computer saying "Cat Not Ready". Drive a few hundred miles more they say and I'm pissed off. What more can I do this is so stupid I'm not built for all that freeway and street driving it's making my joints flare up I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am feeling miserable. I called Gardena Honda speaking to a mechanic named Art he pulled my maintenance records the entire history and says my car is in great condition low mileage etc etc but he gave me hope this problem would be handled by the Gardena Honda maintenance team - he told me what they could do to get the car "Smog Ready" I was amped and given a 9:00 am Appointment for Wednesday 4/16/25 I met with Art he wrote up the issues re: the smog and what I needed done to get the car smog ready and the mechanic drove it off to get started. I waited in the lounge area its very comfortable I bought a packed lunch and a book -- they have a bunch of vending machine filled with food and sandwiches snacks drinks candy iced coffee soda etc and free coffee I relaxed and the time flew bye they told me it was ready at 11:30 am. Art told me to go immediately to a Test Only Station I did and my car passed the smog test in 20 minutes. I am so grateful for everything Gardena Honda .. Thanks a bunch to the team who worked on my car you're awesome. My sister Loni C. I had a poor experience dealing with this dealership. I'll be fair and say I was asking for a very aggressive deal that was probably unlikely. But instead of just telling me it wasn't possible, they made it seem like they could do it and kept calling and texting me. I told them I could only do 0 down and $250/month after taxes. They came back with things like $3,500 down and $199/month saying it "comes out to $250," and then $1,500 down and $250/month. I told them I couldn't do either, and I asked if the second quote was after taxes, but instead of answering directly they kept rambling about other things like how other customers are paying $500. At that point I already knew they couldn't get to my number, so I thanked them for trying and running numbers. But they kept calling and texting without giving straight answers and kept trying to get me to come into the dealership. When I got fed up, they even said things like "72 x 250 is 18,000 ma'am," which felt like they were implying I was being unreasonable. Which doesn't make sense because I was asking for a 36 month lease quote idk where they got 72 months from. I also texted the manager later just to confirm if the quote was after taxes and never got a response. I understand my ask wasn't realistic, but my issue is they kept making it seem possible, kept contacting me, and wouldn't give clear answers. It just felt like a lot of run around and wasted time. I have documented the original quotes alongside the final contract numbers and am currently attempting to resolve this directly with management. What needs to happen: I expect Honda Gardena management to honor the originally agreed-upon figures, correct the contract line items, and refund or credit any unauthorized price increases. I am open to updating this review once management takes concrete steps to correct this issue. This is the second David Wilson-owned dealership where I've had a bad experience in the span of one week. This time it was their Honda dealership. My previous issue was with their Toyota dealership in Claremont. I drove 1.5 hours each way a total of three hours of my day expecting to finalize a deal. I had been in communication with a salesperson for nearly two weeks. Initially, I was told the car I wanted had been sold, only to be contacted again 7-8 days later and told the previous customer's financing "didn't go through." While I understand deals fall apart, waiting over a week for a financing decision seems unusual. I forgot to mention this was a Certified Pre Owned. The most frustrating part of this experience was being told I was only allowed to put a maximum of $5,000 down. I have never heard of this in all my years of buying vehicles. A down payment is a down payment it goes toward the purchase price of the car. We have strong credit and have been approved Tier 1 at every other dealership we visited. Despite this, we were quoted an 8.64% interest rate with a hard cap on the down payment. Forcing a higher interest rate while limiting the buyer's ability to reduce the loan amount feels unrealistic and unethical. At that point, I walked away. I recently visited Gardena Honda with my wife to look at certified pre-owned SUVs. At first, things started off well. A salesman greeted us warmly and showed us a 2024 CR-V Hybrid with about 18k miles on it. The vehicle, however, had no window sticker. When I asked for the price, I was told it was \$37k. We took it for a test drive, and afterward, I said I was interested and wanted to negotiate. The salesman was fine with that and had us sit down inside. He asked to run my credit, but I told him I wanted to settle on a price first. While waiting, I decided to look up the listing online and found the exact same vehicle posted on their own website for \$32k. That immediately raised a red flag. The salesman eventually came back with a "discounted" price of \$36.5k, which I found insulting considering the online price was already \$32k. When I pointed this out, the sales manager, Isaac, got involved. Unfortunately, his approach was unprofessional from the start. He claimed the vehicle had \$7.5k worth of dealer add-ons like paint protection and an alarm system. After negotiating, he brought an offer of \$32k, with an additional $2.5k in alarm and paint protection, bringing back up to \$34k. He then insisted the offer was only good for that day, pressuring me to commit immediately. To make matters worse, during the negotiation Isaac asked me why I was "talking weird" and suggested I might be recording him simply because my phone was on the table. I found this comment completely out of line. He later added, "Well, nobody is holding a gun to your head," when I asked if I had to purchase the vehicle today at that price instead of going home to think about it, which is a wildly inappropriate thing to say to a customer. Even after supposedly removing some add-ons(alarm and paint protection), Isaac then said I would have to purchase gap insurance at \$1,200 and finance the vehicle for 84 months with Honda in order to qualify for the price. Forcing a customer into a specific loan term and add-ons just to get the advertised price is unfair and misleading. At that point, I walked out. This dealership needs to do better. I have worked in sales and professional environments myself, and I would never treat a client the way we were treated here. Be careful when you take your vehicle to GARDENA HONDA. They will rip you off , not fix the problem and then charge you more money when you bring your car back in for the same issue. I took my car to this location because my air-conditioning was not working in my vehicle. They charged me over $2700 to get the problem fixed and it did not get fixed. Took my car there 3 times for the SAME ISSUE A/C. On the third time they wanted to charge me another $3000 to fix the problem which they didn't fix the first 2 times. The third time I took my car up there they held it for two weeks end result.... I still have no AC in my car.
