These guys gave us a diagnostic and the price was way beyond what we could imagine and paid the diagnostic fee and decided to tow the truck home. The mechanics took a day and half to even start looking at the vehicle for a 1 hour job. Then we got there our car was a mess nothing was put back they opened our back seat and left it like that, our glove box was out and the computer. They were working on other cars and finally when they put back the parts they had us push our car out the bay because they were not going to do it, f'ing jerks. Never do business with these people. Even though it was a little busy around the time I went in, I didn't have to wait long to drop off my vehicle for a diagnostic. As I mentioned, this company attempted to strong arm me into work that didn't need to be done. Two months after my smog mechanic discovered that someone there purposely disconnected three vacuum hoses as well. Not only are the mechanics at Able Auto dishonest, but they also sabotaged my vehicle because I refused to pay the diagnostic charge. Do not use these people. read more

I had been looking for a reliable shop for some time now and my brother kept recommending this place. He always talked well about Emiliano so I decided to bring my car in because it was overheating. The turnaround time was pretty fast and they are very communicative. They told me what the issue was and also advised me about other things my car will need in the future. Pricing is reasonably and competitive compared to other shops I've been to. (Mostly performance shops) Ran my car for a bit after I got it and everything is in working order. I stopped in for a parking brake clip repair on my F30. I wanted to replace the plastic OEM clip with a metal aftermarket one, and Emiliano took care of it within couple hours, although I was a walk-in customer. There was a small hiccup with the direction of the bottom piece of the clip being mounted, as the method of install is different from OEM (as well as the design), but Emiliano quickly took care of it and corrected it at no extra charge. The lady at the front desk is super nice and communicates very clearly where she quickly stabilizes all miscommunications. Stopped in for an oil change. Surprised to find the nice Korean couple were no longer the owner. They sold the repair business to an employee last year and are now running the smog-only shop next door. That's cool, the new staff took their time checking over my car, tires, etc. instead of rushing through a 10-minute oil change haphazardly (like the last guy in Monterey Park!) I've been sending my cars to be worked on when it was owned by the Koreans. He sold it to Emiliano the new owner. He was very nice and the office entrance from before is a whole lot better now and cleaner. They offer complimentary treats and water for customers. They gave me an estimate for what I requested and provided recommendations to change certain parts since they would be working around the area. They didn't pressure me. Work was completed to my satisfaction. My only thing is when I picked up car, there were oil smudges on top of my hood. They should have wiped it down since it wasn't there when I brought it in. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! IF YOU HAVE AN M CAR LIKE ME, YOUR CAR WILL LIKELY GET JOYRIDED AND BEAT-ON! I suspect this place of destroying my clutch during a test-drive after a sunroof repair and oil-change. I brought the car in with a pretty fresh and grabby clutch. It comes back to me with a slipping clutch and the radiator blows within 1 hour of picking up the vehicle. They call it a coincidence. Me and my new mechanic call it abuse during a test drive. I have evidence. They put 37 miles on my car for an oil change test-drive. That is ridiculous. Their work order doesn't even have a mileage in and out section. Even more ridiculous. I totally smell a joyride and have proof. I had a hidden phone in the car linked to a Tile. Everyone should do that same to track your car when you drop it off to a mechanic. I trusted this shop with over $6K in mechanical work over 2 years, and each time, they have had me pick up my car only for something else to break immediately, leaving my car in need of a tow! Being that my car is known to BMW enthusiasts as one of the best BMWs ever made, I have gone through my car being joyrided by two other people in the past. Each time, the clutch was destroyed. It's like clockwork. A clutch doesn't wear that quickly with a normal oil-change test drive. I can prove they abused it, but the time it would take to legally get things straightened out would be way too long so I decided to move on and just report everything on Yelp. Shame on you Able Auto. I would sue you if I had more time because I have proof. Fortunately for you, I just don't have the time. I found a better mechanic, and they are worlds better than you guys AND they have a mileage in and out section. You guys are liars and cheats and you will never abuse my car again. For anyone reading this, and feeling your car has also been abused my Able, please chime-in. I hit a hunk of blown truck tire debris on the 405 Freeway as I was driving to LAX Airport. The undercarriage cover was torn off and noisily scraping on the road. Dear Reader, I've lived in Torrance for half my life and not one auto shop has given me a more fair treatment with reasonable rates than Able Auto. Able Auto has treated me with the uttmost respect and straight forward attitude. They never gave me the run around on estimates and always gave me their professional recommendations when it came to the decisions for my cars. I've had a 1992 Geo Prizm from when I turned 16 years old (until I crashed it), a Nissan 200sx SER (until I crashed it =P), a Honda Civic EX 01 (until I sold it) and now my current cars Honda Civic 2007 and Acura TSX (I Love Them). I have brought each car to Able Auto, yes even the Geo Prizm, and they've taken care of all the usual maintenance and repairs for six years of my time driving. Do you remember when the Nissan 200sx SER (Sentra) had an alternator problem with their 1995 - 1997 editions? Well I do! The damn car broke down on me so many times that I used up my entire years worth of AAA free towing! When the alternator first burnt out, I took my Nissan to Able Auto so they can work their magic. Before I knew it, the car was out of the shop and flying through the wind until the alternator burnt out again after a couple of months. I called them about my alternator and they told me to bring it in so they can take a look at it with no fuss or blame. As they looked at the alternator they noticed it burnt out due to overheating from its close proximity to the car engine. With a little ingenuity, they replaced the alternator for FREE and placed a heat shield between the engine and the alternator so it wouldn't happen again. After that my car was good as new! I drove the car for another two years until I crashed it during a drunken night...that's another story -__-. After that incident I never wanted to go to another auto shop again. After moving to Orange County I still drive 40 miles to Able Auto for maintenance and repairs. It's the only place I trust with my cars! Sincerely, Edward K. Note: Apparently Nissan started making their alternators with a lesser heat resistant metal to fit the newer models of their Sentra, however they forgot to tell the owners of the 1995 - 1997 models that their alternators would burn out in a few years! It turned out my sway bar was detached! A different mechanic told me I needed new shocks! So they saved me hundreds of dollars with fixing that sway bar alone! The ladies in the front were so helpful even after I asked a ton of questions.
