NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THESE CON ARTISTS. They'll kiss your ass when you're in the dealership buying a car, but the second you have a serious problem, they'll do everything they can to shift the blame onto someone else. I purchased a 2026 Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro from Hyundai Carson in March 2026. In August, the vehicle drove itself into another car. I understand that the accident itself is not necessarily the dealership's fault. What happened afterward, however, is absolutely unacceptable. When I brought the vehicle back and reported problems with the car's computer and safety systems, the dealership initially asked whether they could review the vehicle's EDR (Event Data Recorder/"black box"). Then, seemingly out of nowhere, their story changed. The next day, they told me that my vehicle does not have an EDR. That claim is extremely difficult to reconcile with the documentation for the vehicle. The 2026 Palisade owner's manual specifically contains a section titled "Vehicle Data Collection and Event Data Recorders," and the manual states that the vehicle is equipped with an EDR. I contacted Hyundai Corporate directly, and Corporate confirmed to me that my specific vehicle does have an EDR and that it made no sense for the dealership to tell me otherwise. So let's think about this logically: if the accident were unquestionably my fault, why would anyone have a reason to prevent the vehicle's data from being examined? The dealership initially wanted to look at the EDR, then suddenly claimed the vehicle had none. That change in story is extremely suspicious and has completely destroyed my trust in this dealership. To make matters worse, the dealership then told me there was "nothing they could do" because they were supposedly not Hyundai, but merely a "reseller," and that I needed to deal with Corporate. This is incredibly different from the sales pitch I received when purchasing the vehicle, when they went out of their way to portray themselves as my one-stop shop and promised excellent customer service. Now the dealership is no longer answering my calls, and when they were answering, the people I spoke with were incredibly rude and dismissive. I have never dealt with a dealership that was so eager to take my money and so unwilling to stand behind the customer afterward. Whatever happened to the idea that a dealership should actually help its customers when something goes seriously wrong? HYUNDAI CARSON IS A SCAM. They treated me like a valued customer when they thought they were going to make money from me, and the moment I needed actual assistance, they wanted nothing to do with me. I'm not a fan of the service department at this dealership. I brought my wife's Elantra GT in for a simple oil change and a routine inspection. I made an 11:00 a.m. appointment online and noted that I would be waiting for the vehicle. I arrived about 15 minutes early. While checking in, another customer was checking in at the same time. I have no idea what she was having done to her vehicle, but she was told it would be about a two-hour wait. I asked how long my oil change would take. I was also told two hours. I asked, "Even though I have an 11:00 appointment?" One of the service advisors said that appointments are simply to let them know who's coming in they don't actually reserve a service spot. That was a new one for me. After about an hour and a half, I noticed the other customer's vehicle was finished, and she drove away. Meanwhile, it took about two and a half hours before my car was finally done. For a basic oil change and a so-called inspection, that's pretty ridiculous. A couple of other things continue to annoy me. They never seem to put an updated mileage reminder sticker on the windshield after the oil change. It's a small detail, but it's something customers expect. Then there was the inspection report. They recommended replacing the drive shaft. Unless I'm missing something, since when does a front-wheel-drive Elantra GT have a drive shaft? Recommendations like that don't inspire much confidence and make me question how thorough the inspection really was. I was charged over $700 with no acknowledgment of the poor experience. The service recommendations included repairs on components I had replaced less than a year ago -- and the technician's own video contradicted the written estimate, which raises serious questions about the integrity of the recommendations. The service department at this dealership is extremely disappointing. My experience started with a scheduled 7:00 a.m. appointment, yet the service staff didn't arrive until approximately 7:10 a.m. After checking in, I was directed to a waiting area next to a showroom that was under construction. The constant construction noise made the environment uncomfortable and difficult to tolerate. I attempted to pass the time by watching television, but one TV was set to a Spanish-language channel and the other was playing reruns of a low-budget sitcom. I asked if someone could provide a remote so I could change the channel, but no one made any effort to locate one or assist me. Around 7:45 a.m., I stepped outside to get away from the noise and noticed that my vehicle was still sitting where I had left it, untouched. When I went back inside to ask why no technicians appeared to be working on vehicles, I was told that the mechanics had arrived and were already in the shop. I explained that no one appeared to be working and questioned why the dealership schedules 7:00 a.m. appointments if service work doesn't begin until much later. The response I received was that administrative tasks take time and that my vehicle would be completed soon. My car was finally finished around 8:30 a.m., and I was informed that an oil change and a 40-point inspection had been completed. Considering the vehicle did not appear to enter the service bay until after 8:00 a.m., I found it difficult to believe that both services were performed thoroughly in such a short period of time. Between the late start, poor communication, uncomfortable waiting conditions, and questionable service process, this was a frustrating experience from beginning to end. But walking into Carson Hyundai for the first time after I couldn't make a new deal with my previous dealer closer to my house I was greeted by the salesman Josh L. who was great and made the negotiation pretty painless and we closed the deal very fast. Do not come here. I am not being hyperbolic when I say this is the worst treatment I have ever received from a dealership. If there were ever a dealership that fit the stereotype of "used car salesmanship," this would be it. They bait-and-switch. On February 21, I negotiated a lease deal for a 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited in person with another dealership. When it came time to sign the paperwork, that dealership had sold the color I wanted. So, immediately afterward, I contacted Hyundai Carson and one other dealership to see if either would match the agreed-upon deal. I spoke directly with the sales manager at Hyundai Carson, Niles, who told me he would work on the numbers. I then received a text message from the dealership confirming that they had spoken with the manager and that the deal would be matched, stating that "it is doable". I was explicitly told that if I came in that day or the next morning, they would honor the deal. I called back and received a second verbal confirmation. Based on those assurances, I left a personal appointment and drove over an hour to the dealership. When I arrived, Niles had already left. The salesperson assigned to me then presented a deal that was $80 more per month than what had been confirmed in writing. I calmly explained that this felt like a bait‑and‑switch and that it was not an appropriate way to treat a customer. The salesperson then told me, verbatim, "You are not a customer because you have not purchased anything yet." At that point, I left. Another dealership later honored the original quote without issue. Terrible experience. I brought my car in for a 10,000-mile service, which was supposed to include a tire rotation. Weeks later, I realized my tire with a large dent was in the exact same spot. I came back, and it was confirmed they never actually did the rotation the first time. Avoid Hyundai at All Costs - Horrendous Customer Experience We leased a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 because it was supposed to be reliable and backed by Hyundai's "great customer service." Instead, it has been a nightmare. The 12V battery is defective, confirmed by Hyundai's own roadside assistance test reading: "BAD & REPLACE... This battery has reached its end of life. Immediate replacement is advised... Battery fails to meet industry standards." You'd think this would be simple - replace the battery under warranty. Instead, Hyundai has done everything but fix it. Hyundai Carson couldn't be reached for days. Phone lines were down with no notice online. Their chat support gave us a non-working phone number and cut us off. We tried calling another dealer, Hyundai Torrance, who told us flat-out, "there's nothing [they] can do" because we didn't lease from them. We tried contacting Hyundai Corporate, who took nearly a week just to get us a service appointment, during which time we were stranded multiple times. We were also specifically instructed to just keep calling roadside assistance for jumps. When we finally got into Hyundai Carson, we sat there for over 5 hours. No loaner. No rental. We showed them the failed battery test. Their response? Recharge the battery, test it immediately after, claim it was "fine," and send us home. The rep even admitted the battery was "barely above the threshold for failure" -- immediately after recharging. Still, no replacement. Hyundai also told us on the phone that a component has to fail two diagnostic tests before they'll replace it. When we asked for this in writing, they sent us an unrelated warranty clause about vehicle buybacks that had nothing to do with it. Meanwhile, the car keeps failing in dangerous, disruptive ways: Stranded at night in a parking lot with our kids. Battery died at school pick-up -- had to take a $75 Lyft just to get our children. After charging overnight, the car started but refused to shift into gear -- scrambling to get kids to school. My wife stranded at a dentist appointment, forced to jump the car in a parking lot to get home. Safety sensors malfunctioned while parallel parking with my wife and kids inside -- the car slammed on the brakes for no reason and locked until restarted, causing a traffic jam. Dead battery also prevented us from locking/unlocking the car or even opening the charging door. On another day, we had to jump the car twice just to manage school pick-up and back-to-school night. We even sent Hyundai a second failed diagnostic test from their own roadside assistance. Still, corporate refuses to commit to replacing the battery, offering only conditional "if/then" statements: If the dealer agrees it's warrantable, then maybe towing, rental, or costs will be reimbursed. The issue is that Hyundai has already acted in bad faith by refusing a genuine warranty repair, and we can't keep running to the dealership without alternate transportation at the risk that Hyundai will pull the same bad faith garbage. This is our only vehicle. We're a family with kids and busy lives. Instead of honoring their obligations, Hyundai has treated our time as disposable and our safety as irrelevant -- all over a basic 12V battery. We have spent thousands on this lease, and Hyundai has given us nothing but wasted time, repeated failures, and outright misrepresentations. Bottom line: Hyundai has breached its promises, its warranty, and our trust. This is the worst customer experience we've ever had, and we will be pursuing legal remedies. read more

I live about an hour away and had been seriously considering a 2024 Hyundai Palisade they had listed at $38,998 on CarGurus. I reached out and spoke with Mike, who was initially helpful. I was completely transparent with him--letting him know I had a deposit on another Palisade and that I'd already been to several dealerships. I told him upfront that I was not interested in any dealer add-ons. Mike assured me that they could remove any of those if needed. We scheduled an appointment for a cold Sunday evening, and I made the long drive with my two young kids to see the vehicle. The Palisade looked great, the test drive went smoothly, and I was happy with the advertised price. When we sat down to talk numbers, I didn't even try to negotiate lower--I was ready to close. Then came the surprise: nearly $5,000 in mandatory dealer add-ons. These included a $699 3M protection package, $799 battery protection, $1,499 SWDS security system, and $1,499 for Allstate paint and fabric protection. I asked to remove them, especially since Mike had promised that was possible. The response? Since the vehicle was "priced so low," they had to make it up with these extras. In other words, they would not remove a single add-on, despite what I was told. Trying to compromise, I offered to keep two of the add-ons if they could bring the total down to $2,000. The manager flat-out refused and said "no deal." So after all the time, gas, and effort--plus bringing my kids along--I had to walk away empty-handed because of classic bait-and-switch tactics. The kicker? Just a few days later, I received a call from Jerry, their Internet Sales Manager, offering the add-ons for the $2,000 I had originally proposed. But by then, it was too late--I had already bought a 2024 Hyundai Palisade from AutoNation Hyundai Valencia without any of the dealer games or extra fees. To top it all off, I noticed that Carson Hyundai has since raised the price of the vehicle to $40,998, likely to give themselves more "wiggle room" for negotiations while still forcing those same inflated add-ons. If you're looking for an honest, transparent buying experience, I would highly recommend steering clear of Carson Hyundai. It's a shame they don't honor their word, especially when families like mine are making serious buying decisions based on what they're told over the phone. Shady dealership! If you can find the car you want somewhere else...consider it. I have been in the process of looking for a car for a few months now, looking for a low mileage (below 100k), inexpensive small SUV for a family member. Not easy to find, but now I have one more thing to consider shady, bait and switch dealerships. I picked this dealership because they had the car and the price i was looking for... Once I got there I walked up to the dirt covered cars (to be fair, construction next door) and lot with no sales people around to greet...OK, maybe now pressure. Now let's find the car. Finally find it after searching the whole lot. As I am there circling the car prepared to pounce... 2 younger guys pull up in one of the other used cars with bags of fast food and they greet me with a proper, "Sup?"..felt like I was at a 80's high school hool parking lot in a bad movie. Then they walked off. Thought maybe they would come back after the embarrassment of jumping out of a used car with greasy bags...whelp, so much for that. Walk into the building a couple minutes later, majority of the staff and sales partying in the what I assumed to be the finance bullpen eating the grease burgers and shooting craps...from what it looked like. I stood there waited see if any unoccupied sales people would look up. Finally an older guy lifts his head from his phone to ask if he could help and if I needed anything. Told him I was there to look at a car, but if everyone was too busy...I could come back at a more convenient time for the dealership . He told me they are "no pressure and not sharks" is why they ignored me...OK Checked out the car...inside, muddy footprints on the plastic protector for the mats, stains on the liner, dirt/ dust finger prints, used and unused napkins, and half drank water bottle. I asked why it was so dirty inside and not like the pictures (I understood the construction dust outside). His response, "must have been a loaner" ‍. Obviously, this car was the previous day's lunch runner. We debated why it was clean or not...couldn't handle the excuse coming from the kindergarten mentality (felt like I accused him of eating chocolate and he was denying it as he had chocolate all over his face and hands). Finally asked him, can I just buy this car at the online price, he answer "probably not". He had to ask his sales manager. He told me to look at window sticker, missing, was ripped off and was one of the things I thought was the dirty napkins. Then he said look at the car next to it. "The dealer options, is added and mandatory to pay for..." Another $5000 for alarm system, dealership something ($1499 each), something for $499 , and something for $750...( ok, just $4200-ish). I asked why, these were all useless things to me, then he said "we all do this, all dealerships add these things," "is this your first time looking for a car?" "What you never bought a car...?" This guy was lucky i wasn't "stuff him in the trunk" mood . I just turned and said thanks, and left... hopefully they make enough not sell8ngvcars at this dealership if this is how they treat people. Based on other reviews. Bait and switchy. Learn about "money factor" on a lease. Drove all the way from LA. The quote for the lease wasn't anywhere near what they said over text. I'm now paying $200 more to finance per month, guess it's the name of the game. Nice sales people (they gotta be nice or they won't sell cars), but very very bait and switchy. But at least we sorted the deal out. Kind of. Just not the deal we were offered or wanted. Eh. Got an Elantra N with no add ons and no mark up. But drove over an hour for LA, they claimed they had a better deal than anyone else but that's not the case. Get educated on "money factor" which is APR but for a lease. They charged more for money factor which would have had the residual be way more $$$$ to pay off if I wanted to buy the car after the lease. They raised it up way past tier 1 credit and we didn't take the car off the lot and had to rewrite and finance the deal but the were cooperative but bait and switchy-ish. Salesman was nice. They didn't have all the colors they claimed they had either. Overall it was okay but don't ever sign anything without money factor spelled out and checking residual on a lease. Not a good visit on July 27, 2025. We have been looking for an ev car for a couple weeks now. Then we came across the nationwide deal from Hyundai. Searched around San Diego and Los Angeles, and we found a dealership that was willing to work with us(supposedly). This dealership is the Hyundai in Carson. Text messages between my brother-in-law, Darlene, & Juan, a "sales manager", happened and did a handshake deal thru text and call. Images attached. $2000 downpayment and $279/month + taxes for the Ioniq 9 SE in gray. Me and my family were excited. This was on July 26. We agreed to meet with Juan on the morning of July 27, since we're coming from Oceanside and we wouldn't make it there before their closing time. We got there at 9:55am on Sunday, July 27 and we were greeted nicely by Josh. He was really nice. While waiting for Juan, we did another test drive. When we came back, we finally met with Juan. However, this is when it started to go downhill as far as our experience went. We confirmed to him again the deal that he and my brother-in-law had agreed to, and he still said "Yup!". When he brought the paperwork, it didn't reflect at all what was discussed. The pricing jumped to $468/month. The pricing was not based on the $279 anymore, which was what made us drive all the way from San Diego. We explained to him that this was not what we had talked about, so he went back to what I assume is the sales room, and he later came back with another quote. It's now at $425/month, still not even close to what was the deal that made us drive 1 hour and half for it. It looked like they were adding fees into the pricing. So we asked for Juan's manager, and Shawn(or Sean) came out. We tried to discuss with him the situation, but he kept denying it. At the end of all this, we were told to go "Fuck Off". Juan was a witness to it too. Upper management needs to look into how they operate this dealership. You can even see from other reviews before me of almost similar negative experience. read more

Have been here less than handle of times since Covid because I needed to get my car serviced for oil change etc and it's close by my house so it's easy to drop in when I need to during the day especially since I work from home I just bring my laptop to continue working The customer service has always been great and friendly The place is clean from the waiting area to the bathroom Their coffee making machine is Starbucks and there's plenty of places to sit from single seaters to tables Length of service wait time always depends on when you go... average is 2-3 hours really but that's how it is most dealerships honestly But yeah always have had good experiences and never have had bad experiences. read more

STAY AWAY!! Dealers were very unhelpful and will try to talk circles around you. They also sold me a car with issues--none of which were mentioned at the dealership. They also LIED about agreeing to pay for maintenance on the car for a year. When you call them, they will say they'll call/email you back, but that's another lie. They're hoping you get lazy/forgetful so they can continue practicing their predatory business tactics. read more

PUT YOUR CUSTOMER FIRST!!! I chose this location because of a coupon they sent me for an oil change for $39.77 but ended up paying $58.67, close to an additional $19.00 and didn't let me know until they finished over 3 hours later. They also claimed I had an open safety recall open but I showed them paperwork from my last visit that said it was completed last year. So now I don't know who is the liar. Next once the car was ready, they parked my car in the lot, handed me my keys and I had to go look for it. There are a lot of nice and helpful people and a lot of socializers at this location. So while we are waiting for our vehicles, they are eating, talking, laughing and smoking outside. This is one of the most unprofessional dealerships I have ever been too. I purchased a vehicle from Hyundai Carson less than 30 days ago, and it's already having serious issues. Warning lights started popping up almost immediately, prompting me to have the vehicle inspected. It turns out there are multiple expensive problems that should never have been overlooked -- or hidden -- in a sale. What's worse? When I brought the car back to the dealership, I was told (by their own staff) that the vehicle was traded in by one of their own employees, who knew about the problems and expected the car to be sent to auction. Instead, the dealership sold it to me -- a regular customer -- with no disclosure or warning. After letting general manager (Sean Gibson) know about the service manager (Andres) denying knowledge of the cars condition, customer service went from bad to worse. This is not just poor business practice. It's deceptive, unethical, and deeply disappointing. A dealership should never knowingly sell a defective vehicle, especially one with a known history of issues -- and definitely not when that knowledge comes from within their own team. I trusted this dealership to stand behind what they sell, but clearly that trust was misplaced. If you're considering buying a car here, think twice -- and get everything independently inspected before you sign anything. read more

This dealership delivered a "brand new" car to me only to find out after so many hiccups and money for repairs etc etc that it was a lemon. Someone at this dealership did work on the car without ever recording or disclosing it to me. Mt journey with corporate after finding this out has been just as disappointing as Carson.
