Great service at Martin Chevrolet
Linda C.

So my brand new Chevy Colorado (less than 2,000 miles) dashboard display went missing (only maps and radio status would display). So I couldn't tell how fast I was going l, nor how much fuel was in the vehicle, and also the backup camera wouldn't engage on the display either). So took it in to Martin Chevrolet and dropped it off with "Ed" Edmundo Sanchez. Ed greeted me with a smile at my door and promptly took care of checking the vehicle in. Martin Chevrolet is a privately owned dealership (verses a big auto group) and their personalized and genuine caring shows! Ed took the time to offer pleasantries and promised a call or text when the truck was ready or if there were questions or approvals needed, so I felt comfortable leaving it. I waited in the service lobby for my ride, which had complementary coffee, and they also had a snack vending machine. TV's mounted to the wall with local news on. Comfy couches, a small display of Chevrolet merch and Chemical Guys detail products available for sale. The waiting room was clean and noticeably at that, it didn't smell or have terribly outdated reading materials and magazines as often other dealership waiting rooms do. It was nice to see the care given to the waiting room. Sadly my truck had quiet a few electrical issues they needed to address, but Ed kept me updated daily (they had the truck for 4 days trying to resolve it), but I'm so happy with the excellent communication and service. Ed was off on I'm sure a well deserved day off when I picked up the vehicle and I believe the service advisor by the name of Ricardo assisted me, he was friendly and helpful and part of the reason I won't bring my vehicle anywhere else in the future!

This was the condition my tire was in when it was parked. Which I had AAA come to put my spare on.

I brought my car in for the "Annual Maintenance" as well as getting a recent tire looked at that went flat the day before. I had my spare in its place and alerted the service provider Alvin that I didn't know where the puncture was since AAA couldn't see anything when they changed the tire out. So I asked if it could be repaired first. He said he would have the techs inspect it. He also told me that the routine maintenance for the 16K service would be $764- I wasn't prepared for it being that large of an amount but went ahead with it and he said it would be about 2 hours till my car was done. I went to work then he called and told me that the tire was punctured at the side wall which makes it not reparable and needs to be replaced which the didn't have in stock and that would be $270- I spoke to my close friends and boss they told me to stop the work immediately. I called Alvin requested this to stop at 9:15am mind you I dropped the car off a little after 8am he said they were almost done. But not with the tire replacement since they didn't have it in stock. I got a ride there to just get my car back. I talked to Mario and he was very helpful in getting my price down and helping me use my points as well to adjust the price. I was very thankful for him taking the time to understand this situation. I brought the car to America tire they inspected the tire and said they can repair it at no charge. The Alvin guy at Martin Chevrolets I knew where the tire was damaged. I did not know where it was damaged and neither did the AAA tech who put my spare on. I'm not a tire technician. But Alvin implied that I had knowledge of the exact area the tire was damaged and I didn't. I'm not happy and I feel like there should be more trustworthy people. Mario at Martin Chevrolet would be who i recommend to speak to if you bring your car there.

I accompanied along with my friend who went in for a "LOF" along with checking on a malfunctioning passenger window on 04/14/25. The attending Service Advisor (Richard) was very attentive whilst at the same time using his cell phone to video the outside/inside of the truck- to show how it appeared before any tech- touched the vehicle. Upon inspection of the vehicle- there were few suggested repairs/replacement of accessories- one of which being wiper blades- which to an unassuming person might just authorize this specific replacement at a dealer discounted price of $92.00- but they customer replaced those wiper blades less than two months ago with RainX Latitude wiper blades (I know because I purchased them via Amazon Prime Next Day Delivery)- I did bring this up prior to leaving the dealership with the Service Director- Ben. Initial thoughts explained was dirt on the windshield- I'll take that with a grain of salt. Granted the vehicle wasn't washed- maybe the customer needs to request this- granted it's not a Lexus- since on one occasion the local dealership did a hand-wash when all they did was check tire pressure at my request. Overall the dealership's management/staff performed attentive and quality work- with just a few inconveniences. Their showroom and service lobby was good as well with the obligatory free coffee/hot chocolate/etc.- it would've been nice if they had pastries like competing automotive brands in a few miles radius.

I recently had an extremely disappointing and stressful experience at Martin Chevy, specifically with Aaron in their sales department. I asked them to cancel my optional extended service contract and resubmit the deal to the finance company. Instead, I was told they would not cancel it because "they would be taking a loss on the car." This is not only unethical -- it's illegal. Under California Civil Code §2982(c) and Federal Truth in Lending Act (15 U.S.C. §1601 et seq.), optional products like extended warranties or service contracts cannot be required as a condition of financing, and refusing to remove them after request is a violation of consumer rights. Aaron then told me to contact him when he was "off the clock," and when he called, he gave me an ultimatum: either have the loan funded by Monday or they would "come get the car" -- all because they refused to remove a $2,800 extended service contract I did not want. Again, service contracts are completely optional. On top of that, Aaron texted me repeatedly during my workday, pressuring me to move forward. I even tried to meet him halfway, but the dishonesty continued. All of his managers were equally dismissive and unprofessional. While I understand my credit situation is not perfect, that does not give them the right to bully or manipulate me simply to secure their commission. I fully intend to file a formal complaint with the California Department of Motor Vehicles Occupational Licensing division and the Bureau of Automotive Repair, as well as cancel the service contract once the loan is funded. Looking back, my first red flag should have been how many times they kept reworking the deal to get more money out of me. Initially, I was told $1,000 down, then $2,000, and on the very day I was set to pick up the car, they raised it to $2,500 -- telling me this while I was already on the way to the dealership. This was a textbook case of high-pressure sales tactics, dishonesty, and disregard for consumer rights. My advice: stay away from this place at all costs.

Great experience. What can I say! It was the first week of February and Was in the market to buy a truck and I had the pleasure of working with Robbie. Not pushy at all and he helped me the night before when I went by the dealer to just look. Following day I was going home from the store and wanted to ask some questions about the trucks and sales. I ended up buying the truck I wanted that night which was a 2026 Silverado ZR2. It was already 7:30pm on a Tuesday and by the time we were done it was like 10pm and they close at 9pm. The staff I worked with that day were friendly and professional. I would buy another vehicle here.

Arturo was amazing he was able to get us transportation to the dealership and when we had questions or inconveniences come up he always had an answered or was able to give us an answer. I have bought multiple cars in the past and this was the first time that a sales person knew more than me about the vehicle you could tell that Arturo had done his homework.

HER Honda lease is also coming to an end, so she was considering getting a new vehicle from Scott Honda at the same time. Unfortunately, the experience was very uncomfortable. The situation became even more disappointing when the finance manager made sarcastic remarks towards her . The salesperson also expressed frustration and said that they had spent several hours with us "for nothing." I understand that buying a car takes time, and I respect the salesperson's time. However, customers also have the right to ask questions, compare numbers, and take their time before making a major financial decision. Not agreeing to a price does not mean that a customer is wasting anyone's time. In my opinion, good customer service should be about helping customers make an informed decision, not making them feel pressured or uncomfortable because they choose not to accept the deal. She has been a Honda customer for many years and has purchased multiple Honda vehicles in the past, including two from Honda of Gardena and two from Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Cerritos. You can verify her purchase history. After this experience, I don't believe I will be returning to Scott Honda Hawthorne or recommending this dealership to others. It was disappointing to be treated this way after she was recommending it to me as a loyal Honda customer for so many years.

The way the sales people have ignored me every time I am here getting my car serviced makes me…read morethink I look like a vagrant, and I'm okay with that. I purchased my car in 2018 and have brought it here for service ever since. But the last 3-4 visits, I do the same thing, sit in the lobby for about an hour then walk around the lot looking at cars. I've been think about getting a new car for a while, but I haven't had a car note in years, so I'm reluctant. Not to mention, I rarely drive, so rare that I was thinking of just selling the car, then had to have someone bring me back to logic. Let me just say this, this review is in no way about the service dept. If I had an other issues I would go to Carson or Manhattan Beach, but I come here. Today's visit really annoyed me, I'm stilling in the lobby reading my book and a salesman named Anthony comes in and begins to speak about the 4th of July sale. I listen, because I can really be easily convinced to get a new car, but I notice that despite him having my full attention and us only being within feet of each other, he is not talking to me. He confirmed it, when he begin asking everyone in the room, individually, if they were interested in taking a look at the numbers on trading in a vehicle for a new one without any commitment. He didn't ask me or the guy behind him who could easily be confused as being asleep. I didn't speak up, because I could just as easily be swayed by characteristics to keep my money. What I did do was get up and walk the lot, like I normally do when I am here and I peaked at a few cars, while also speaking with my husband, because I needed someone who was going to tell me if I was over thinking the whole situation. Can you guess what happened next, as walked around circling the cars and taking an extra second to stare at the sticker... Nothing! No one approached me and asked if they can help. No one came out of the sales office, after watching me from the large glass windows I was looking at vehicles in front of. Nothing! So I walked back to the lobby to wait for my car and write this review. But then, I started wondering why I was even giving 3 stars and my husband called me back to ask if I saw anything I liked. I told him I didn't but they probably had the car on the used car side. So I got up and walked around the used car lot side and I did see two or three vehicles that I was interested in. These I took a few extra seconds to look at because I wanted to see the price, the year, the details, the warranty information. But again, no one came out. No one came to help me to ask if I was interested in anything or to see if I needed assistance. The only time I spoke to an employee at South Bay Toyota was each time I walked back to the service center where they offered me shuttle services or wanted to see if there's anything that they could assist me with. So I am giving three stars because I could easily walk to service department and ask them to get me a sales agent and I'm sure that person who comes to me would be all too enthusiastic about showing me what's available. It has happened before and that's why I know exactly what vehicle I want next.

When I got there, I brought it up again and was told the Uber needed to be booked through their account, not mine, and that they would have to get approval from the GM the next day. I wasn't happy about that answer, but I was still willing to move forward with the purchase. Before they ran my credit, I was very clear that I was only interested in Mazda's 0% financing for 36 months. I have very good credit and expected this to be a pretty straightforward process. Instead, after waiting, my salesperson came back and told me Mazda hadn't responded yet, but they could get me approved through Capital One at 1.99% and get me out the door sooner. That really rubbed me the wrong way. I specifically came in asking for Mazda's 0% financing, so I didn't understand why they were suddenly pushing a 1.99% Capital One loan instead. I later called and was told my credit score was 815, which made the whole situation even more frustrating. I negotiated a very good price on the car, so from my perspective, it felt like they may have been trying to make some of that money back through financing by steering me toward Capital One instead of waiting for Mazda's 0% offer. I can't say for certain that was their intention, but that's certainly how the situation came across. By this point, between the delays, the transportation issue, and the financing situation, I was no longer excited about buying the car. My dad and I went to lunch and I ultimately decided to just Lyft home and walk away from the deal. To be fair, they only promised to cover the Uber one way, so I understand that getting home would have been on me. My issue was that something they had promised in writing suddenly became complicated, and then the financing situation felt like another attempt to change the terms of what I came in expecting. Overall, the experience was incredibly frustrating and completely took the excitement out of buying a new car. My advice is to get everything in writing, make sure they actually honor what they promise, and pay very close attention to the financing they offer. If you're getting a great deal on the car, don't assume they're necessarily going to make it easy for you to get the financing you came in expecting. Buyer beware. Ask questions, verify the financing yourself, and don't be afraid to walk away
