This is where the true helpful Honda people are! If you can't find them at your nearest Honda dealer, then head for Carson Honda! I had avoided buying a Honda for years. Not only did their products seem overrated and nothing fantastic, but I couldn't stand their dealerships whenever I'd visit with friends or family. The salespeople were arrogant and would act as though the car was made by the hands of God himself; often adding steep markups. For years I had remained loyal to domestic brands, particularly Ford, because of this and had great experiences with them. When it came time to purchase my first ever brand new car, we wanted something comfortable and economical. We liked the Fit, but couldn't stand several of the Honda dealerships we had visited in the area (Airport Marina, Culver City, Scott Robinson, Norm Reeves). We were often treated rudely, the salespeople were not familiar with their product, and many had $2-3k markups on a $16k car. Ridiculous. We ended up looking at comparable Fords, Chevys, and Hyundais instead, even though the Fit met our needs the most. As one last chance, on the weekend we decided we'd buy a car, I gave Carson Honda a try by getting an online quote on a 2015 Fit. While other dealers were marking up the price by thousands, Carson was $400 BELOW sticker! Amazing! We rushed down and were helped by Octavio, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. I emphasize patient, because we stopped by two more times during the day to test drive the car (while doing the same at the Ford and Hyundai dealers) and he was accommodating each time. There was no pressure at all. When we decided to go with the Fit (and once again, the service at Carson Honda was the only thing that persuaded us to go with Honda) and came back to the dealer, our transaction was handled by Ramon. He wasn't quite as outgoing as Octavio, but was still helpful and made it an easy purchase. The online price was honored and there were no tricks, no haggling, and no hassle. I had spent hours of research beforehand to estimate the monthly payment, and they matched my numbers almost to the cent. On a side note, we loved the Halloween decorations that were in the showroom when we bought the car in late October. It was fun, festive, and took some of the edge off of an intimidating purchase. Overall, the facilities are modern, clean, and inviting. As a follow up, the Fit now has 600 miles and is two months old, and we had some quality issues crop up. I took it down to Airport Marina Honda because they were close to my house and they refused to honor Honda's warranty, were wanting to charge a diagnosis fee, and had accused me of the car's defects. How insulting! They didn't take blame that the car may have had these defects from the factory. I came to Carson Honda today ready for the same fight and was greeted by Jonathan. He was welcoming and friendly, especially considering it was a Saturday morning. When I told him about the problems, while getting ready to roll up my sleeves for a brawl, he said "no problem" and said that these issues were occurring on the Fits. It'll be all fixed under warranty, no questions asked. I happened to cross paths during today's visit with my salesmen, Octavio and Ramon, and they were friendly as always and seemed genuinely concerned about the car. I was almost ready in the past week to trade in the Fit for a Ford and to never come back to Honda, because I was so insulted by Airport Marina Honda. It ruined the whole experience of owning a new car. But Carson Honda delighted and surprised by their amazing service. I am so happy to have done business with them and will continue to do so. My review is based on how we were treated.. first I'd like to Thank Sandra for trying to help us until she introduced us to another rep, would of been nice if he was actually the mgr. It is absolutely ridiculous for someone to try & make high commission in one single sale instead of building a relationship with the customer first. These guys ask for high down payments & high monthly payments for a Civic!! It is a 4-6 years commitment which means sales reps will continue to interact with the customer & if the customer feels welcomed he or she will refer others to whomever sold the vehicle to them. It is insane for them to try & make high commission in one sale instead of making fair commissions by making a few sales daily. Happy customer = good referrals = more sales = more money!! Your first goal shouldn't be about the money. Is it fair if I offered $2,500 down & anything under $300 a month for a Civic? It is a Civic for Christ sake!!! read more

GREAT experience at Carson Honda. I've bought Honda parts there before but had to take our 2010 Honda Insight there for the first time. They were very friendly, expeditious and honest. We thought there was something terribly wrong with the car after reviving it ourselves. (It sat unused for months during pandemic stay-at-home. By the warning lights, we thought that the main hybrid battery was too old and might need replacement. $$$$) They said NOPE. Just a backup fuse. They did a diagnostic check and drove it around with a clean bill of health. They charged us the normal diagnostic fee (very reasonable) but did not charge for the labor to fix it, nor did they charge us for the replacement fuse because they said they "just had an extra one" in the shop. SO NICE. We are usually skeptical of car dealerships and high-pressure sales businesses but we felt very well taken care of at the Carson Honda dealership. I need to mention: THEY DID NOT EVEN TRY TO SELL US A CAR. Sounds crazy but I respect them so much for just catering to our needs. When we are ready to buy a car, we will WITHOUT A DOUBT be returning to them for our Honda needs. I am HAPPY to continue giving them our business. Want to specifically mention Javier in the Service Department and everyone who received us when we arrived, as well as whomever worked on our little car! Thanks everybody! read more

Worst experience ever buying a used car that had a "clean carfax" and "one owner low miles" as listed on their website. I later learned the car had a front end collision and badly repaired with bad touch up paint that didn't match. The trunk would even open by itself when I backed up. It happened to me 3 times in a day. I wasn't even informed by the salesperson the car had been in a wreck when I bought it. They are very dishonest. Fake friendly. The carfax was fraudulent. Big mistake buying a car at night. I was taken advantage of and felt scammed so I took the car back and wanted to buy a new car. They told me I couldnt return it and made me feel intimated and trapped. They made me a deal to take the car back and sell me a new honda accord for a higher price than a different dealership I had already talked with. This dealership manager acted and told me they were doing me a favor. I refused to pay a higher price for a car I could get for less somewhere else. I have already filed a grievance with honda corporate and will call their general manager to file a grievance as well. Deceitful lying dealership. Dont buy a car here if you value your money. I was shopping for a car online. I found a car on Autotrader. I called Carson Honda and they said they would hold the car for me with a $500 deposit. I flew into town to purchase the car only to find out that the photo of the car advertised was a different color. When I informed them of their false advertising, they told me too bad. I asked to speak with the general sales manager. I was walked to a gentleman by the name of Luis Contreras's office. He told me that he could do nothing other than return my deposit for the car. I asked about my travel cost because of their misleading advertising got me on a plane, taxi to and from airports, parking fees totaling approx. $300. Luis offered to reimburse me $54 towards my travel cost after a lengthy discussion. I told him half would have been fair enough for me but he was quick to say that was all he could do. Very poor customer service on one hand after finding out about their misleading ad but to add insult, offering me only 1/4 of my out of pocket costs is very poor judgement. Be aware of misleading ads by this dealership and poor customer followup and service. Ps. They made me wait another 30 minutes afterwards to get my refund on my $500 deposit. If I could give a zero stars, I would. Luis did arrange to get me a ride back to the airport. I'm sure he just wanted me out of the show room. Lol read more

This is review is for their service department only: I've been coming to this dealership for the past 5 years to get my car serviced here all the time but today when I went to go get my car serviced for an simple oil change I was informed by one of their service reps that they were closed for the day, and then when I mentioned to him, that I thought they were closed at 6 during the week, that when he switched to him saying, oh we stop taking non-appoinment cars after 5 p.m., which is bs, since ive always come I usually come after work which is after 5 p.m. never had a problem, until today, maybe it is a fact that it's a Monday and they don't wanna do work overtime I seen that they don't have any cars as they claimed nor they seemed busy, so I don't understand why they don't wanna take my car for a simple or change but I guess that they rather leave on time than having loyal customers, he also mentioned that i should come tommorow morning at 7, umm no, I cant come whenever its more reasonable for them either, he then stated on Thursday they are open until 8, also a big lie they close at 9, I guess its more important to them that they leave on time that they have loyal customer, anyways, I wont be coming back to this dealership anymore. read more

This review is a long time coming. I don't typically write reviews, but I have not been able to get this out of my head ever since I bought my car here. I bought my 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback on 12/01/19 from the Sales Associate, Renato Flores. I had already done my research and received a quote ahead of time on an auto loan through Chase Bank that I brought in to the dealership. Renato walked me to the back and showed me the Honda Civic in Sonic Gray. That is when I noticed this odd orange substance covering a good portion of the passenger side of the vehicle. Renato said he didn't know what that was and they had a second car of the same model in their warehouse. He told me we could just use this car as the test drive. I drove the car around and found it to suit my needs, so we sat down at a desk on the sales floor and discussed my options as far as purchasing the car. The discussion took quite a while, with Sebastian Hun coming over to assist Renato with the sale. I felt a little uncomfortable with this, but it seemed as though Renato was less experienced when it came to negotiating. They gave me an okay trade on the car I brought in and Renato assured me they would get the Civic from their warehouse. This is where mistakes were made... Instead of Carson Honda using my quote from Chase Bank, they decided to run my credit again without a thought of asking me and offered me the same quote I received from Chase Bank. I should have left there, but pressure got to me and I signed for my new car! They walked me over to Osvaldo Vargas, who assisted with finalizing the papers while Renato went to pull my new car up. (Side note, Osvaldo was nice and helpful throughout the signing process.) I walked out of the side entrance to see the brand new Hatchback!... And then I looked closer at the passenger side of the car. Lo and behold, there were small traces of the orange substance still on the side of the car. I opened the passenger door and there was the bright orange substance in the crevices of the door. When I asked Renato if this was the same car that was in the back, he decided to lie to my face and tell me that it was not the same car. This is when the disappointment and regret began filling my body. I felt that no one in this place was honest and could not be trusted. I sat in this dealership for hours just so I can be lied to? Renato offered to take the car over to be cleaned... again. He took the car to the back at least two times in order for them to finally clean off the most noticeable parts of the orange on the car while I just stood outside waiting. Congrats on the sale, but, sorry, I will never recommend anyone buy a car from your dealership. This is the situation people fear when they are shopping for a car. TL;DR - It was a terrible experience. Dealership ignored my pre-quoted loan, ran my credit again, and used a different bank instead. Felt a little ganged up on by sales team. Sat around for hours waiting. Car I test drove had mysterious orange substance on it when I arrived and was lied to, saying the one I bought was not the car I tested. Only reason for two stars instead of one is Osvaldo's customer service. read more

Compared to Honda in signal hill, the employees were very helpful. I came in for a deficient battery and because I didn't purchase my Honda at that location, the employee mentioned I should call the dealership where I purchased my car for further assistance. Once I spoke to the manager from Hardin Honda, he sent me the necessary paper via email and was able to get my battery replaced at Carson Honda. Overall, good service and planning to take it back for an oil change. read more

I had to write this because I have had poor service and sales help from many car dealers. At Carson Honda, however, I found something that doesn't exist at very many car dealerships. Service and a great salesman. I had called earlier about a used 2006 Honda CRV and when I drove up and introduced myself, the salesman said that Sebastian H. was already in the car and driving it up for us to inspect. I have no idea how they knew it was the car I was interested in (even though I had called earlier). The car was what I wanted, but needed front tires and the dealership agreed and payed for them. I was in finance very quickly and the Finance Manager, Ali Hassas got me through the process in the fastest amount of time I have ever done a deal. Seeing that I have purchased many cars and trucks, I was amazed. I had one problem and that was that the radio wouldn't play. I thought I was going to have to spend a fortune to get it working. I should have checked it out before I bought, but Sebastian, the salesman from heaven told me to bring it back. I did and they found a code that got the radio working like new. The price? $0. If you are looking for a great deal, salesman who cares and a finance manager who knows his business, take my advice and go to Carson Honda and ask for these two professionals. First off let me say that buying a car can be very stressful. If you are looking for a new Honda I recommend Carson Honda without any hesitation. "Ozzy," Dean, Ray and the entire staff at Carson Honda made my experience as smooth as possible. After spending weeks looking for a new car, previously I have only owned Toyota's, I settled on a Honda Civic EX after the test drive. The ride is smooth, the cabin is spacious and the car comes better equipped than it's closest competitor in the price class. So began the age old price comparison war and haggling with dealers. Thankfully things have gotten easier with TrueCar and Edmunds. I had contacted several other dealers and even driven 45 miles out of my way to the valley, to a dealer that rhymes with "Schmmalpin,"for a bait and switch on the price quote I was given via email. Four hours later and some inappropriate comments form the sales staff we walked out for the second time on a deal. Lucky for me after telling a friend my story he steered me to Carson Honda. I had already received some fairly competitive offers and was going to have to swallow my pride and head back to one of the previous dealers despite the poor customer buy decided to try Carson. I reached out to Carson Honda and explained my situation, Dean and I exchanged two phone calls and I had an offer in my mailbox in writing with everything spelled out for me within an hour. Fast forward three hours. I arrive at the dealer and my car is at the door with my name in the window. I was greeted by "Ozzy," who walked me in set me up at a table and Dean, with whom I set up the deal, came over and walked us through the entire process. i had an 05 odyssey that transmission broke down at 130k...but i really like the it...so i bought a brand new 2018 odyssey last 07/08/17...i brought it in 07/17/17 @174miles coz the radiator is leaking...guess what, they told me that there is rule that within the first 90 days I have to bring it back to the dealer where I got it from..that they couldn't do anything about it..I said that's bs...what if it broke down at vegas...corporate is no help either...I called them and they told me just to bring it to another dealer...very disappointed read more

Worst place to buy a used car, I bought a 2002 Honda accord with 57,722 mile on it in April 2018, with in 1year and six months of me having it and taking it to the honda dealership to get all of the services (oil change and all that they recommended) driver side window regulator went out had to get that replaced transmission is about to go out on me any day engine has a leak and driver seat no longer folds forward side mirrors no longer move and now the driver side window is about to go out as well, it cost $7,714.35 was able to get a loan so It came out $12,000 and some change for a complete LEMON,and no help from anyone towards the end they tried to say it was the way I took care of it but I took it to get serviced everytime to one of there dealership. So disappointed in Honda they supposedly last forever or 300,000 plus miles. I honestly believed there service department did a fuel service inspections on all there used cars before they are sold. I came back to the dealership because I try to be a loyal customer. I purchased a vehicle in 2012 with an extended warranty for Lo-Jack. Unfortunately the car got stolen. But since it was under the warranty, I had to file a claim. Let me tell you, If you're not persistent and pro-active in claims, then you will lose. First of all, When I called Lo-Jack, someone there told me that The dealership has to file the claim (I wasn't able to get the name, but it is supposed to be on a recorded line right?) Secondly, Tracy was nice enough to help me out initiate the claims, but then, there was no answer from Lo-Jack regarding my claim after 2weeks or more. So, I decided to call Lo-Jack myself. Then, they said that I should have started the claims. (Tracy was mentioning that to me to because she never heard such a thing that they have to start the claims process). When I contacted Lo-Jack, they gave me the number for SAFE-GUARD. This is where it becomes ridiculous. Lo-Jack sent them copies of the documents I emailed and faxed. I spoke with their reps (I have the names and dates of the conversations) they in turn gave me the. email and fax number where to send the documents, which I did, MULTIPLE TIMES (I have the transmital reports by the way). Everytime I checked with SafeGuard, they always ask me for the same documents and I would tell them the same thing over and over again that I sent the documents already. Today, I spoke with Fosa since I got an email from SafeGuard that they got some of the documents. Unfortunately, the credit of $2500 should have been applied when I purchased the new Vehicle and I told her that there was no credit applied. She mentioned that that's how it works -- How am I supposed to know that now right?! Since I have been tossed around multiple times. Let me go back to the day I purchased the new vehicle, I mentioned to the Finance officer, Ozzie, that I have a pending claim with Lo-Jack - he even pulled out the paper if I were eligible for the claim, But since it was past 100k with mileage, It wasn't applicable anymore. But I made him aware of the extension of 5000 something and that I requested for a copy of the contract for Lo-Jack and the extended warranty. Another individual gave me a copy of the blank Lo-Jack warranty that was signed by I don't know who since it was just a signature and I sent that to SafeGuard. As a consumer, I will not recommend products from Safeguard for their warranties. I will not stop until there's a clear answer for the mishandling and miscommunication that the car dealership and SafeGuard Has. It is NOT FAIR for consumers to be treated like this. We have already been violated and this is how they treat you -- adding insult to injury. The sales industry hasn't changed at all. They're just after sales and the fake pleasantries that these companies will forever linger. That is a disgrace. If there's anyone I'm good about is Erwin in the service dept. read more

I had a great buying experience here and was going to rate Carson Honda a solid five stars. The two star penalty comes from the responsiveness after my purchase. I traded in my car when I picked up my new CR-V. I left my work badge in the old car and didn't realize it until I arrived in San Francisco. I've called four times now. A few times I was told my salesman would be in the office tomorrow. That was on consecutive days. I was put on hold for a manager. The receptionist twice picked up my line and made an announcement for a floor manager to answer the phone as if she had pressed the wrong button. No one came on the line to talk to me. I also emailed the salesman to the same email he had given me to send some documents to on the day of purchase. No reply. All I really wanted was an answer to the simple question of whether my badge was there and if they could send it to me or if I should get a replacement. This neglect of the simplest of requests makes me question what sort of treatment I would get if I had a serious issue with my car. I think I will cancel the extended warranty they sold me and purchase it though a different dealer. Verdict: Happy with purchasing experience, more than disappointed with lost sales follow up Update: Now down to one star, really ought to be a zero. I purchased the extended warranty at the same time I bought the car with the "can only get this today," and "you can cancel at any time", etc and etc. Well, I've been trying since the end of November to have the extended warranty cancelled and the money credited to my account. I did get a response to the first email I sent asking for more information. (Maybe that's where they earn their one star.) I sent the requested information, but can't get a peep out of them since. I've sent four or five emails with no reply given. I've even included finance director Tracey Kesterman on the last couple emails. Still no response. I've made phone calls. They're busy, "but someone will call me back." I haven't received a single call from them. I don't know if it is the company's policy to stall on refunds as long as possible or if it's general incompetency. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and attribute it to the latter. At this point it feels fraudulent and I probably need to waste more of my time pursuing a case with the dept of consumer affairs, or the state attorney general, or whoever you need to talk to to pressure a business to live up to their promises. Worst customer service I have every had. I went in to have my alternator change and was told I had to pay for a diagnosis check and it would be deducted once I approved the work for 300 to 600. They called me back and told me the price would be 877. Not the original quote of 300 to 600. I paid them the 122 for the check and gladly picked up my car. Owners beware of the scam practices of the service writers. I live 5 mins away but from now on I will gladly be taking my car to another Honda dealership. ***Update thanks for nothing again. I was promised on the phone that something was going to get my wiper was going to be fixed, by the receptionist on the phone that she talked to Johnathan the wiper would get fixed, that I would be taken care of. so I made appointment with her for Monday at 8am. She told me that Johnathan would be there at 8am. So I get there at 8am, I'm in the appointment line. To find out the girl Didn't make an appointment. The part was not Orderd. The service advisor, MARISOL, does not have any communication skills at all. I came in for an appt for a recall service. She does not know customer service at all. First, she did not introduce herself. So when I signed up for the shuttle service, I was asked who was my advisor, and I'm like- I don't know her name, she never introduced herself, all I know she sits on the 1st table. Second, she did not say anything on the expected time frame for the recall. That's the whole point that you are speaking to a service advisor, right? Third, I told her that I will avail of the shuttle service. She did not tell me where to sign up, or should I already wait for the shuttle coz she signed me up already, or where to wait. She was like- here are your paperworks and I'll call you once the car is done. And she was already walking away. Fourth, when she called me that my car is ready for pick up, no info offered as to how the recall service went, or let's say she'll discuss it when I pick up the car, but at least give a quick update on how it went. Marisol was unprofessional and should be re-considered if she is to remain an employee or not. read more

I really don't appreciate when businesses try to take advantage of the customer. I came to replace a key and was told I would have to pay to reprogram the key once I purchased the new casing and blank key which they would additionally charge me to cut. I asked point blank why I had to pay for reprogramming since the inside mechanism was in tact. He said because the chip is in the damaged casing of the key. That is not true! I replaced it myself and saved myself well over $100 and no reprogramming was needed!!. I know that is true of the older model keys but I'm sure the employees in the parts dept are well aware of which type of models and years require reprogramming. Especially since the key was in pieces they could have checked in one glance. I did. Ridiculous! I fixed both my keys myself and saved over $160 they wanted to charge me. Rip off!! read more

Scheduled an appointment at 1030. I arrived at 1030 and waited for at least 10 mins to be recognized. One car behind me was seen right away and also another car on the NO APPOINTMENT LINE was helped before getting to me. Waited a total of 15 mins before someone finally asked if ive been helped. No point of setting an appoitment if im not going to be helped anyways. Better off going to Scott Robinson as their service is better and have a nicer cleaner facility. 2 stars because Laurie was nice and apologetic. read more
