Excited to get the keys. BEFORE issues appeared

Hi y'all! I'm back with a THIRD, updated review. Buckle up. As it just gets more and more insane. Thus far the radio's digital face display still does not work. I believe we're on radio 5 or 6 at this point? This last radio install was an aftermarket radio. Instead of going with the Nissan radios that are no longer available due to the vehicle's age. Latest install occurred on July 28th. I picked the vehicle up late afternoon on the 28th. By Saturday, mid-morning, the digital face display was once again becoming so light, it looks blank. Unless I'm literally leaning on top of it? The display is not able to be seen. Jeannie, has been on the receiving end of every negative email, complaint, picture, video, and conference call with those concerned. The idea that she heard the vendor say it was due to the sunlight and she ran with it blows my mind. So far I have been told that two different stock radios were not functioning properly because the factory settings had been messed with. On top of all of the other mechanical failures this car has had since I've owned it? It's not shocking their explanation is "we didn't check that." No one will ever convince me that every single radio face display has failed within the first 7 days because of sunlight. The sunlight was present the day after the last install. I didn't have any issues. It was present the day after that too. No issues. It's been over 90 days since I purchased this vehicle. They have yet to fix the original complaint. Their only solution is to continuously order radios. Each radio install will come with a 12-month or 12,000 mile limited warranty. That implies CarMax thinks that I am going to be on this crazy train the entire duration that I own this vehicle. I'd have been better off buying a 30yr old used car from some dude on Boulder Highway. To be continued...

CarMax Henderson

My husband and I stopped by Carmax on a Saturday morning. This Carmax location is in Henderson. We were looking at the Lexus ES300h which is the sedan hybrid model of the Lexus ES350. CarMax opened at around 9:00 A.M. The process to test drive the vehicle required a lot of paperwork to be signed prior to driving it. The vehicle had low mileage and no issues with it. The service was great at this CarMax location. The team member we were working with provided great feedback and answered all of the questions that we had! The team member was transparent with the buying process and it was a great experience overall! There were plenty of other vehicles available at this location, but at the time, we were only interested in test driving the Lexus ES300h that was available. We didn't end up buying a vehicle when we visited, but we at least were able to test drive out the Lexus ES300h that was available and get more information on the vehicle!

Inconsistencies

Reserved a 2018 sienna. Autocheck checked out. They also provided a carfax which they say they dont. Carfax pointed out odometer fraud. Frustrated so I called to cancel. Jasmine was not trying to cancel. She was trying to convince me that it was a typo? Twice? When I rebutted she got extremely upset and hung up. Called again spoke with Mykyla and again was hung up on. Nobody would transfer me to a manager. Apparently since the leads Jasmine and Mykyla were sick of me they let Ashley deal with me. Both of those women deserve to be reprimanded. I was expecting them to be apologetic and maybe even find me another vehicle. No way not anymore. Autochecks are garbage. Get a carfax always

I had an extremely frustrating experience with CarMax roadside assistance. I requested a tow around 7:00 PM after my vehicle became undrivable. Despite calling multiple times throughout the night, I kept being told the tow was delayed. No one ever showed up, and I was left stranded without any updates or reliable communication. The lack of urgency and poor customer service was unacceptable. If you're relying on CarMax roadside assistance in an emergency, don't expect timely help. I was very disappointed with how this situation was handled. It is now 12am at night and I am still waiting on a tow the lady over the phone is extremely rude

I used to really HATE going to car dealerships. Especially a used car dealer. (sorry, I know some of you, somewhere, MUST mean well), but before this, I hadn't had that experience yet. Well, except the Porsche dealer in SLC. Their service dept. generally delivers a good experience. But I was determined to buy a used car that was economical and reliable, for a daily driver. So, I had to brave the universe of used cars. I also had to trade in a car, and again, didn't want the experience of having to deal with all of the want ad, KSL online stuff, etc. So, having heard good things about CarMax and not wanting to deal with all of the aforementioned nonsense, I drove my now unloved, trouble prone former luxury car to CarMax. I was shocked to find high-service availability people working there that were so kind, and so pressure-free, that it was somewhat disorienting, and certainly unexpected. A great willingness to serve along with significant patience; no steering or pressure toward buying or selling, just what felt like a legitimate effort to provide good service and GREAT business process, was experienced. They also gave me a no-haggle price that exceeded my own internal estimate of the amount I would need in order to get rid of my used car (based on some ChatGPT research and quick online reading.). So, you can imagine how surprised I was when they beat my estimated offer minimum. Fast forward many steps, in the order of brevity.... The rest of the experience, the automation, the business process, and keeping the promises that the business delivered, all the way down to the continuous over communication regarding the car I ordered, and voila! A happy, yet discerning customer was born. CAR MAX. I won't ever do it another way again if I need a used car. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It wasn't a perfect experience, but I still give 5 stars because I truly believe Carrie in corporate and the GM of the store are stand-up people who genuinely care about making sure their customers are happy and in the right vehicle. In the end, everything worked out as it should. Carrie was extremely professional, patient, and helpful throughout the process, and the GM was equally understanding and supportive. I stand by the fact that CarMax sells reliable, well-running vehicles. Two of my children have purchased cars from them, and I recently purchased a Ford F-150 myself. Each time, the vehicles have been excellent. I've been very satisfied with the service I've received--both when selling my vehicle (fair offer) and when buying one (fair price). I would feel completely confident recommending this dealership to anyone looking to buy a car.

Ask the Community - CarMax

Are they currently doing markups?

Mark-ups? When my daughter bought her car in October, it was reasonably priced considering the market. Like I said, in my review, they were the easiest to deal with. If you have your own financing of course it's better, but you can always refinance…

Any other fees charged taken off appraisal offer when you sell!? Example: if they offer you $15,000 for your car, do they give you a lessor amount for hidden fees?

No, they just offer you less when you get there

I had the pleasure of working with Toby to locate and purchase the Tacoma I've always wanted. He helped secure just the right one for my needs, he was patient and informative throughout the process, and made sure I understood everything and got exactly what I needed. A smooth process from start to finish, Toby is a top notch salesman, friendly and I'm very happy I was able to work with him. Findlay Toyota is very streamlined with everything in one spot, a truly comfortable car buying experience and I wish I would've bought a vehicle here sooner. If you're looking for a Toyota or need good service by professionals in a great location, I highly recommend stopping by and be sure to ask for Toby!

I waited almost 2 months for my 2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, and what should have been an exciting…read moreexperience turned into one where I genuinely felt lied to and scammed. We worked with Kody Manalo and were very clear about what we wanted: a white AWD RAV4 Hybrid with no unnecessary extras. We agreed on a price, received it in writing, paid a $500 deposit, and were given a VIN for the vehicle we were waiting for. On August 26, Kody told us our car had arrived. When we came in the next morning, we immediately noticed extras we had specifically said we didn't want. I checked the VIN and discovered THIS WAS NOT THE CAR WE HAD BEEN GIVEN THE VIN FOR. It was a different vehicle with a higher price. We immediately questioned Kody about it. He told us not to worry and that our agreed price would stay the same. Based on that assurance, I signed paperwork reflecting the original price. About 30 minutes later, he came back and told us the price was changing because this was a different vehicle -- almost $3,000 more. I asked what happened to the RAV4 we had waited two months for, and I never received a clear explanation beyond an "internal miscommunication." We asked for a manager. Remi Chun (Remington) came to our table. We specifically asked if he was a manager, and he confirmed that he was. He acknowledged that this was their internal mistake but said they would not honor our original price. I later discovered that Findlay Toyota's own website lists Remi Chun as a "Sales Associate," not a Sales Manager. The whole experience honestly felt like a well-organized scam. People told us things directly to our faces, only to change the story shortly afterward. We were basically given two options: pay almost $3,000 more for a different vehicle with extras we never wanted, or start over and wait potentially another two months. Unfortunately, my previous car had broken down and I had already been paying for a rental for about a month. After almost 4 hours of arguing and feeling completely misled, I finally gave up and signed. I love my RAV4, but there was zero excitement left when I bought it. I just wanted to get out of that dealership. Please be aware of this SCAM inside the dealership!!!!!

I couldn't more strongly encourage the use of this company to sell your vehicle. Thank you all at Give Me The Vin!!

We brought the beastie in for a tire replace and then after that the wheel locks went missing, so we had to purchase new ones. Then, the warning light came on before winter break and it was the computer sensor for the DEF tank. It took weeks for them to get it diagnosed, parts ordered and then installed. They had our truck for too long. Plus, we were paying out of pocket, it wasn't just a few hundred dollars. It was so stressful. We are teachers. We work at two different schools and carpooling everyday was exhausting and stressful to say the least. So when we got the truck back it seemed to be functioning. When the DEF needed filling my hubby took care of it, but then we noticed the gauge isn't showing that it was filled. So great, we knew we needed to take it back in, to my disappointment. So, we went in to the service department. My hubby explained everything and suggested they start the work right before spring break so they can have the beastie for a week and we won't be stressed. The manager spoke to the team and we have an appointment to drop it off. I'm relieved so far. Still concerned about the DEF gauge, but optimistic. They guys were welcoming when I pulled into the service area and friendly and helpful when I was pulling out. The manager made time right away to invite my hubby into his office right away to discuss what we needed and got us set up with a plan right away. So far so good. I will keep you posted. Thank you Auto Nation for the great customer service yesterday and we look forward to a successful experience when we come back in March for the servicing of the DEF gauge.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Julia Zagajeski, my service advisor at BMW of Henderson…read more I recently had a complicated repair involving my extended warranty company, and what should have been a relatively straightforward claim turned into an extremely stressful and lengthy process. Throughout it all, Julia was exceptional. I also want to praise others , technicians etc who were involved in obtaining the authorization for the repairs. She stayed on top of the warranty company, made numerous calls, challenged information that did not make sense, kept me informed, and most importantly, advocated for me as her customer. There were times when I was ready to give up out of sheer frustration, but Julia continued working on my behalf until the repair was finally authorized. What impressed me most was that Julia genuinely cared about what I was going through. She was professional, responsive, compassionate and persistent. I never felt like I was simply another repair order on her desk. BMW of Henderson is very fortunate to have someone like Julia representing its service department. Excellent customer service is easy when everything goes smoothly; the true measure of service is how someone responds when things become difficult. Julia went above and beyond for me when I needed it most. I am extremely grateful for everything she did and would recommend her without hesitation. Thank you Dr. Roselyn Tomasulo

Time estimates are consistently given as "10-15 more minutes," only for those delays to continue repeatedly. I also found that concerns and questions are not always handled well, especially when customers challenge information or point out inconsistencies. During one visit, I had a disagreement with a manager regarding recommendations for services and purchases for my vehicle. The conversation became uncomfortable enough that the manager later apologized for coming across as though he was trying to influence or manipulate my decision-making. What was especially frustrating was being accused of relying on ChatGPT for my knowledge and questions about my vehicle, rather than recognizing that customers can have their own experience and understanding of dealership sales tactics and service practices. I expect transparency, accurate time estimates, and respectful communication when bringing my vehicle in for service. Unfortunately, my experiences here have not reflected that standard.
