This is my first used car purchase and my first experience with CarMax, and it went well. I researched vehicles online and put in all the specifications that I was in search of, and found a 2025 Nissan Sentra in Palmdale, CA, shipped it for $99 and waited for it to arrive. The online shopping experience was straightforward, and the communication and text updates were smooth and non-burdensome. I did the financing online to get an idea of where we would be and also sought out financing through America First Credit Union to make sure I had the best interest rate (in the economy, you have to save where you can). We test-drove the car with Bryan M., and he was great to work with. The CarMax experience is definitely different because there aren't any deals or haggled pricing, so you will want to do your research and know what the car you are interested in costs as a new vehicle and as a used vehicle at a dealership, so you can cross-reference prices. We test drove another vehicle just to make sure we were confident in our choice. Bryan ran a finance credit check for us, and after comparing the rates, we ended up using America First Credit Union. After researching and comparing the extended warranty protection packages, the CarMax service protection plan is really comprehensive and covers a lot so it was a tough decision. It is very well reviewed. We did end up going with the plan AFCU offered because it was comparable and extended to 120K miles. We brought our check in the next day, and we were in and out within an hour of our scheduled appointment. Bryan didn't pressure us to buy anything additional, and I appreciated his customer service and professionalism. When we ran into a snag with the computer system, the management stepped in and problem-solved right away, and it didn't hold us up in any way. The car was washed and ready to go! Small hiccup with vehicle and it needs a maintenance within 24 hours but I am not worried because they were prompt in response and even though it was Bryan's day off he responded with directions. Still overall a positive review and hopeful experience. read more

I made an appointment at CarMax because I expected someone to be ready to assist me at the scheduled time. Instead, I was told I would have to wait another 35 minutes. If appointments are not going to be honored, there is little point in offering them. This was a frustrating and disappointing first impression, especially when I came prepared to seriously consider purchasing a vehicle. I scheduled an appointment simply to view and test-drive a vehicle. I arrived on time but was marked as "browsing" and waited an hour without being called or even being given an opportunity to look at a car. An appointment is meaningless if no one is available to assist the customer. I eventually left without seeing a vehicle. Nobody reached out to me to let me know what was going on or to apologize for the long wait. When I went and asked what was going on I was told they were short on staff. This was an extremely disappointing experience. CarMax came recommended - I'm telling those people that they must have had a totally different experience than me at a different location not to use this location in the future. read more

We recently located a 2016 Lexus RX350 at CarMax in Sacramento, California. After carefully considering our options, we paid the $149 vehicle transfer fee to have the vehicle delivered to the CarMax West Warm Springs location in Henderson, Nevada. On Sunday, June 21, at 4:00 PM, we attended a scheduled test drive. The representative who assisted us, Daviana, was professional, courteous, and very helpful throughout the process. After reviewing the vehicle, we expressed our interest in purchasing it but requested one additional day to complete a final test drive before making our decision. Daviana informed us that she could place the vehicle on hold until the close of business on Monday, June 22, which gave us confidence that the vehicle would remain available while we finalized our purchase decision. Today, we contacted CarMax to inform the team that we were on our way to the West Warm Springs location to complete our final test drive and proceed with the purchase. However, during that call, we spoke with a representative named Eric, who informed us that the vehicle was already being processed for shipment to Texas for another potential buyer. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed and frustrated by this news. We relied on the assurance provided by your representative that the vehicle had been placed on hold for us. Based on that understanding, we felt comfortable taking the additional time needed to complete our evaluation of the vehicle before making a significant purchase decision. While Eric apologized for the situation and offered us a credit toward a future vehicle transfer or test drive, the issue extends beyond the transfer fee. We invested a substantial amount of time and effort researching vehicles, comparing options, arranging schedules, and ultimately identifying a vehicle that met our needs. Finding another comparable vehicle may take weeks or even months. We were informed that the issue may have been caused by a system or computer glitch. While we understand that technical issues can occur, customers should not bear the consequences of internal system failures, especially when they have relied on information provided by CarMax employees. The assurances given to us were ultimately not honored, and as a result, we lost the opportunity to purchase a vehicle we were seriously prepared to buy. This experience has left us disappointed with how the situation was handled. We believe greater accountability and communication are needed to prevent similar situations from affecting other customers in the future. We respectfully request that CarMax review this incident, determine what went wrong, and provide a meaningful resolution beyond a future transfer credit. read more

THIS CARMAX SELLS BAD CARS ABS went out 58 days after purchase on my first day of school. carmax would not cover any of it because it wasn't within the 30 day warranty. both Jessica and Vanessa were absolutely terrible customer service reps saying "you can't expect us to tear the car apart" and hanging up on me. i paid $482.09 + $105 to tow it to Carmax. my car wasn't diagnosed for 2 days after they said they would look at it and 5 days after i picked it up, my engine went bad. i saved for over a year to buy this car and CarMax is doing nothing to help which leaves me with a $13000 loan for a car i can't drive. read more

Hi y'all! I'm back with a THIRD, updated review. Buckle up. As it just gets more and more insane. Thus far the radio's digital face display still does not work. I believe we're on radio 5 or 6 at this point? This last radio install was an aftermarket radio. Instead of going with the Nissan radios that are no longer available due to the vehicle's age. Latest install occurred on July 28th. I picked the vehicle up late afternoon on the 28th. By Saturday, mid-morning, the digital face display was once again becoming so light, it looks blank. Unless I'm literally leaning on top of it? The display is not able to be seen. Jeannie, has been on the receiving end of every negative email, complaint, picture, video, and conference call with those concerned. The idea that she heard the vendor say it was due to the sunlight and she ran with it blows my mind. So far I have been told that two different stock radios were not functioning properly because the factory settings had been messed with. On top of all of the other mechanical failures this car has had since I've owned it? It's not shocking their explanation is "we didn't check that." No one will ever convince me that every single radio face display has failed within the first 7 days because of sunlight. The sunlight was present the day after the last install. I didn't have any issues. It was present the day after that too. No issues. It's been over 90 days since I purchased this vehicle. They have yet to fix the original complaint. Their only solution is to continuously order radios. Each radio install will come with a 12-month or 12,000 mile limited warranty. That implies CarMax thinks that I am going to be on this crazy train the entire duration that I own this vehicle. I'd have been better off buying a 30yr old used car from some dude on Boulder Highway. To be continued... read more

First impression of Carmax Henderson, as soon as I walk through the door was a lack of professionalism. the young lady that greeted me at the door checks me in takes me back to a desk and starts processing me and asking for my license. I didn't even know she was the salesperson. she never introduced herself, never told me her name or position, or that she would be the one taking care of me. pleasant lady nonetheless very young unprofessional for instance, I'm a 65 year old and she decides to call me buddy? Hello, I'm not your buddy and I don't care for a nickname thank you. So I take a car for a test drive and they don't even take my trade in to get appraised while I'm out driving. they wait for me to get back so I can be there for an extra 45 minutes extra (WTF), which is more time that I wanted to spend there. I wound up spending a lot more time there because of the incompetence of their service department. I get my car for 52,000 take it home and the bumper sags literally. I take it back they fix it I bring it home it sags again. I bring it back again 2 hours later they tell me they "didn't fix it right the first time" no shit Sherlock . Did you use duck tape or crazy glue? thanks for making me come out here so they can tell me they have to order another part (they thought they could get by without the 1st time) . I had an appointment for all the visits too. Not sure why, if they're not going to even look at it for 2 hours! again it took them three or four times to fix it instead of fixing it right the first time. I don't live close. 3 weeks later and I put more miles on the new car bringing it back and forth than actual regular miles (no hyperbole). sometimes they give you a car sometimes to give you a ride and then I'm stuck at home. Why is the onus on me. the only professional in the whole place was my service manager victor. The other surprise when I got home (the 2st time) was, there was actually a dime and some big crumbs of bread shoved into the window slot and supposedly they get what 125 checkpoints on the car? I specifically ask the sales lady to deodorize the car b/c it smelled like smoke she promised me it would be taken care of when I picked up the car after I paid for it still smells like smoke month later .thanks for that. Once they have your money, good luck. So I come back for a 3-day payoff so I don't have to pay any interest on the car and there's some new girl, Ashley doesn't seem to have a clue. She keeps going back to her manager to ask questions. she's so flustered that she asked me to walk away while she finishes her tasks. then gives me a receipt with my old address on it they don't even know my address after I just bought a whole car from them. And whatever you do don't bother asking for a manager there's one manager there or a lady in the office her name is Lex, absolutely lied to me. said she was getting me a manager and then just cut me off. I call right back there's nobody around by that name so another manager I talked to gives me another number because she said "I don't want to have to go all the way back there and tell him what to do in service because it's too far of a walk" give me a fucking break that's what I called you for and that's what I'm asking you to do. See there's no grasp of what service is, here or standards because it's corporate. it's very corporate, they just want to make the sale and move on to the next one. quite the assembly line. I won't be going back there for my next car. I've been to this one multiple times and the feeling I got was there has been some massive layoffs or something because this team was in the weeds! read more

My husband and I stopped by Carmax on a Saturday morning. This Carmax location is in Henderson. We were looking at the Lexus ES300h which is the sedan hybrid model of the Lexus ES350. CarMax opened at around 9:00 A.M. The process to test drive the vehicle required a lot of paperwork to be signed prior to driving it. The vehicle had low mileage and no issues with it. The service was great at this CarMax location. The team member we were working with provided great feedback and answered all of the questions that we had! The team member was transparent with the buying process and it was a great experience overall! There were plenty of other vehicles available at this location, but at the time, we were only interested in test driving the Lexus ES300h that was available. We didn't end up buying a vehicle when we visited, but we at least were able to test drive out the Lexus ES300h that was available and get more information on the vehicle! read more

I had an extremely frustrating experience with CarMax roadside assistance. I requested a tow around 7:00 PM after my vehicle became undrivable. Despite calling multiple times throughout the night, I kept being told the tow was delayed. No one ever showed up, and I was left stranded without any updates or reliable communication. The lack of urgency and poor customer service was unacceptable. If you're relying on CarMax roadside assistance in an emergency, don't expect timely help. This review is for my experience in selling my old car. I did not come to CarMax to buy a new one. My dad just got a new car (the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron, and yes, he will only exclusively drive all-electric cars) and I inherited his 2018 Tesla Model 3 as a result. This meant it was time to sell my 2015 Kia Soul with almost 70k miles on it. It's been paid off for several years and has had no serious issues for as long as I've had it, with the exception of the battery, brake pads, and engine all having to be replaced; the latter was recalled a few years ago due to a fire risk. Having made a ton of memories with friends and family in this car, it was a little hard to part with it, especially since Kia announced a couple of months ago that they had stopped production of the Soul. Required to sell my car to CarMax was the official title, the registration, the keys (original and spare), myself, and my dad. We had made an appointment to sell it on 2/26/26 at 1:00pm. The registration was under my name and my address, but since the title was under my dad's name and his address (I got it leased new when I was still living with my parents), he needed to be present during the sale as well. The inspection and all that other stuff took about a half hour and then it took another half hour for the sale to happen. They were really busy at the time, but they were able to work their magic and take it out of my hands in about an hour. Selling my Soul to CarMax (not intentional lol) was quick and easy and because it was still in good condition, I made quite a bit of money from the sale, which I won't disclose on here. I've had this car for almost 11 years and my dad said that someone who buys it is going to be very happy because I took such good care of it. If you're looking to sell your car, CarMax is absolutely the way to go. read more

I used to really HATE going to car dealerships. Especially a used car dealer. (sorry, I know some of you, somewhere, MUST mean well), but before this, I hadn't had that experience yet. Well, except the Porsche dealer in SLC. Their service dept. generally delivers a good experience. But I was determined to buy a used car that was economical and reliable, for a daily driver. So, I had to brave the universe of used cars. I also had to trade in a car, and again, didn't want the experience of having to deal with all of the want ad, KSL online stuff, etc. So, having heard good things about CarMax and not wanting to deal with all of the aforementioned nonsense, I drove my now unloved, trouble prone former luxury car to CarMax. I was shocked to find high-service availability people working there that were so kind, and so pressure-free, that it was somewhat disorienting, and certainly unexpected. A great willingness to serve along with significant patience; no steering or pressure toward buying or selling, just what felt like a legitimate effort to provide good service and GREAT business process, was experienced. They also gave me a no-haggle price that exceeded my own internal estimate of the amount I would need in order to get rid of my used car (based on some ChatGPT research and quick online reading.). So, you can imagine how surprised I was when they beat my estimated offer minimum. Fast forward many steps, in the order of brevity.... The rest of the experience, the automation, the business process, and keeping the promises that the business delivered, all the way down to the continuous over communication regarding the car I ordered, and voila! A happy, yet discerning customer was born. CAR MAX. I won't ever do it another way again if I need a used car. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

CarMax - My new whip. Thanks, Car Max! - Used Car Dealers Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

Horrible experience. I purchased a Model Y from this CarMax location. Within the first few days, I discovered a significant vibration at highway speeds, particularly around 60-70 mph. The vibration could be felt through the steering wheel and was noticeable enough to shake the side and rearview mirrors. I brought the vehicle back and was told the passenger-side wheel was bent and that the front lower control arms/tension arm bushings were cracked/separating. The repair order specifically stated that the rim was bent and front control arms/tension arms needed to be replaced because they were causing excessive movement at the wheels. What followed was nearly three weeks without the vehicle I had just purchased. The replacement wheel took approximately a week to arrive, only for me to be told that the wheel had arrived damaged and could not be installed. I was then told I would have to wait another week for another replacement, then something happened in the Tesla ordering system and the wheel was actually going to take another week to arrive! I eventually became frustrated enough to consider returning the vehicle. I was given the option to return it for a refund or exchange it for another vehicle. Unfortunately, returning it meant waiting for the refund, and having another vehicle transferred from another CarMax location would have meant waiting another week or more. I ultimately decided to give CarMax another chance and wait for the repair. After I contacted Customer Relations, the situation suddenly moved much faster. I was told the wheel had suddenly arrived and was being installed. Shortly after, I was told the wheel had been replaced, the vehicle had been test driven, and the vibration was gone. However, I was then told that the control arms would not be replaced despite the repair order stating that the bushings were torn/separated and that replacement was recommended. When I asked about this discrepancy, I was told that the control arm issue had essentially been diagnosed based on it being a common cause of vibration. The major vibration is definitely improved after replacing the wheel, but I continued to notice a slight vibration around 65-70 mph. I brought the vehicle back as the service advisor instructed me to do if I had any concerns. They were unable to reproduce it and was informed that the next step would be for them to schedule an appointment with Tesla (because they can't service the car there) which would require me to take additional time off work and make another trip to Carmax to drop the car off AGAIN. At this point, the experience has become exhausting. I purchased the vehicle expecting to drive it--not spend the first several weeks dealing with repairs, loaner vehicles, delays, conflicting information, and repeated trips back to the dealership. The most frustrating part is that the standard 10 day return period has now expired. I raised the original issue shortly after purchasing the vehicle, and the vehicle spent a substantial portion of that period in CarMax's possession being repaired. Customer Relations is currently escalating my situation to management above the store level to determine whether anything can be done, so I am still waiting to see how CarMax ultimately handles this. I understand that problems can happen with used vehicles. What has been disappointing is how difficult and exhausting it has been to get the problem resolved. I expected better from CarMax and hopefully I can receive a better outcome. read more

Very disappointing experience with CarMax. The vehicle I purchased had an issue so I went back and they told me was dangerous to drive, so they took it back for repairs. (Why sell something that is dangerous to drive? ) I waited almost 3 weeks for the rim and was told it would also be sent to Tesla for a proper inspection--but that never happened. I feel the issue was inadequately handled from the beginning. Instead of properly diagnosing the problem and making sure everything was checked and repaired, they replaced the tires and returned the vehicle to me. The vibration is still there, so clearly the underlying issue was never properly addressed. I shouldn't have to keep bringing the car back for problems that should have been taken care of the first time. Extremely frustrating and disappointing service. read more

Husband spent some time putting all the requested info into the on-line system so that we could have an "Expedited Appointment" based on them basically and seemingly simply seeing the car we had for sale. Yeah, not so much. We had to sit thru the whole process again. Why did he have to put everything into the system (including uploading his D/L, as 1 example; calling the bank for the pay-off, as another example?). Don't make people do this stuff if you have to call the bank again and make copies of everything again. We have been CarMax buyers and sellers for 26 years. Michelle was a prig and as someone who's worked in Sales for many, many years, shame on her. Jackie was nice -- just doing her job -- but at least she remained professional. I am extremely disappointed with the way CarMax has handled my situation. After purchasing a vehicle that has since been found to have multiple major mechanical issues, I went to the dealership hoping to discuss possible solutions and get assistance. Before my visit, the General Manager knew I was coming. However, when I arrived, another employee falsely presented himself as the General Manager and acted as though he had no knowledge of my concerns. When I confronted them about it, the actual General Manager admitted that he had lied and responded with a smirk and a dismissive attitude, saying, "Yeah, I lied, so what?" I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior from management at any company. The vehicle has been diagnosed with several significant issues that clearly did not develop overnight, including cracked front tension struts, cracked rear differential bushings, a leaking coolant pump, and a leaking heat management system. After just repairing a leaking turbo coolant line and all 3 motor mounts-These are not minor repairs, and they raise serious concerns about the thoroughness of CarMax's inspection process and the techs performing them before selling the vehicle. Instead of standing behind the quality of the vehicle they sold, CarMax has refused to help because the issues they ignored were discovered shortly after the 90-day warranty period. While they may be relying on policy, it does not change the fact that these problems existed long before they were identified and should have been caught during inspection. So the vehicle was not as described. I trusted CarMax because of its reputation, but my experience has shown a complete lack of accountability, honesty, integrity and customer service. Buyers should have vehicles independently inspected as soon as possible after purchase and should not assume that CarMax's inspection process will identify any major issues. It is far easier for them to pretend they don't exist. I expected transparency and support. Instead, I was met with dishonesty, disrespect, lying general manager and a refusal to address serious and safety concerns about the condition of the vehicle they sold me. By the way- the General managers name is Darren. read more

It wasn't a perfect experience, but I still give 5 stars because I truly believe Carrie in corporate and the GM of the store are stand-up people who genuinely care about making sure their customers are happy and in the right vehicle. In the end, everything worked out as it should. Carrie was extremely professional, patient, and helpful throughout the process, and the GM was equally understanding and supportive. I stand by the fact that CarMax sells reliable, well-running vehicles. Two of my children have purchased cars from them, and I recently purchased a Ford F-150 myself. Each time, the vehicles have been excellent. I've been very satisfied with the service I've received--both when selling my vehicle (fair offer) and when buying one (fair price). UPDATED REVIEW: We're updating our rating because Elizabeth Levert went above and beyond to make things right. She was the only person who genuinely cared about our situation and took the time to get the necessary fixes done properly. Her professionalism and follow-through turned around what had been an incredibly frustrating experience. Thanks to her, our issue was finally resolved, and we're truly grateful. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This location will half-ass your maintenance. Every time we've gotten our car serviced through warranty, they've messed something else up. A couple of months ago, we brought our car in to fix an A/C leak and the passenger window not rolling down under warranty. They performed the services on the car and when we got it back, we noticed that the passenger side door would not open and had to bring it back in. They fixed that, but when we got it back again, a panel of the passenger seat fell off. We just noticed today that the driver's side seat panel is hanging loose and the electronic seat controls will not move the seat forward due to this. We have to pay a deductible every time and plan for being without the car every time they mess up. It's been 2 months so we are sure they will probably try to have us pay another deductible when we find the time to get this fixed even though it is due to them not double checking everything before returning the car to us. We will never purchase a car through Car Max again due to this ongoing headache. read more

In January 2026, the vehicle was taken to Fairway Chevrolet for repair and diagnosed with a rear differential failure. Warranty coverage was initially denied based on alleged "contaminated fluid," which I dispute. A Chevrolet technician indicated metal, not contamination. Additional major powertrain issues (transfer case, transmission, front wheel bearing) were then identified. Despite having the extended MAXCARE warranty, coverage has been denied, delayed, and inconsistently handled. The vehicle has now been held for over three months with minimal progress and poor communication. I was also asked to pay hundreds for a battery before work would continue. I am now being asked to pay additional thousands of dollars for repairs that should reasonably be covered under the warranty. This has been an ongoing and unresolved situation involving CarMax, MaxCare, and their warranty administrator. Buyers should be aware of potential issues with warranty coverage and claims handling. read more

I purchased a 2019 Genesis G90 3.3T from this CarMax location, and while the car-buying process went smoothly, my experience with the service center was disappointing. When I test drove the car, I noticed the brakes were squeaking noticeably. After purchasing the car, I took it to the service center to address the issue. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't resolved. The squeaking persisted, so I brought the car back a second time. Even after the second visit, the issue only got worse. Frustrated, I decided to take the car to an outside mechanic. They informed me that the front brake pads were worn out and needed replacement, along with rotor resurfacing. I went ahead with the repairs, which cost me $300. Afterward, the squeaking was mostly resolved. When I contacted the service center to request reimbursement for the repair, I initially spoke with someone who took my paperwork but didn't follow up. A few days later, I called again and got a more helpful representative who directed me to the service manager, Oscar. I emailed him the invoice for the repair, and the next day, he informed me they couldn't reimburse me. He claimed the issue wasn't related to their workmanship or craftsmanship--even though they failed to address the problem twice and didn't replace the pads or perform any substantial repair. I'm extremely disappointed with their decision. I chose to purchase my car from this location because it had low mileage and was exactly what I was looking for. However, this experience has made me reconsider how I approach buying cars in the future. Let this be a reminder to thoroughly inspect every aspect of a car before purchasing, listen for unusual sounds, and ensure any concerns are properly addressed before completing the deal. At minimum I was looking to at least get my money back. read more

1/5 Stars - Avoid this location if you expect honesty or a safe vehicle. I purchased a 2023 Honda Passport Elite from this CarMax location on 7/31/26 only to discover shortly after delivery that it was equipped with dangerous, out-of-spec aftermarket wheels and tires (+12mm offset vs. factory +55mm, and 9.5" width vs. factory 8.5") that completely compromised the vehicle's safety suites--causing active Road Departure Mitigation failures, steering wheel shaking, and disabling the adaptive cruise control. Worse yet, when the car was sent back for evaluation, the local store attempted to manipulate a blind inspection with Honda by misrepresenting the visit as a routine "ABS check," deliberately hiding the wheel specifications and my technical evidence to dodge accountability. To top it all off, they sold me a vehicle in this modified condition while simultaneously collecting $2,000 upfront for a MaxCare warranty that is effectively voided on day one for any major suspension or drivetrain claims due to these pre-existing unapproved modifications. The local management completely stonewalled, hid behind service desk runaround, and refused to take responsibility for delivering a non-compliant, hazardous vehicle. If you buy here, get a third-party independent inspection immediately, because they will gladly pass off dangerous reconditioning failures onto unsuspecting buyers and leave you to fight for basic safety. non-compliant aftermarket wheels and tires that completely destroyed the factory safety systems, triggering aggressive false steering corrections, disabling adaptive cruise control, and rendering the vehicle a major road hazard that they've attempted to pass off as a "bad battery" My car is STILL in the service bay at Honda and has been there and at Carmax service for 8 of the 12 days I've owned it. There is a corporate complaint that has been opened as well. The GM and service manager have been pretty much silent on anything that is going on. Absolute worst car-buying experience of my life, bordering on outright fraud. When caught, the local management engaged in deceptive trade practices, intentionally lying to certified Honda technicians during a service drop-off by masking the real structural defects as a basic "ABS check" just to dodge liability. Management hides behind service desk walls, ghosts phone calls, and thinks they can bully customers into accepting unsafe, improperly reconditioned vehicles. Do not trust them, do not buy from them, and if you already did, check every inch of your car and protect yourself. read more

To CarMax Corporate & Regional Management, I am formally escalating a serious safety and ethics issue involving CarMax after purchasing a $70,000 2021 C8 Corvette from this location. The vehicle was sold with aftermarket tire decals glued directly to the sidewalls. During the 800-mile drive back to New Mexico, those decals began peeling off--taking rubber with them. I removed the decals solely to prevent damage to the paint and body, only to discover clear sidewall damage consistent with buffing and/or adhesive use. This is not a cosmetic issue. Tires are a safety-critical component. I provided photos and documentation. Both Big O Tires and Chevrolet inspected the vehicle and documented that the tires should be replaced due to sidewall damage. Additionally, Michelin will not warranty tires that have been altered, buffed, or exposed to adhesive that can compromise structural integrity. To make matters worse, the decals covered DOT date codes, preventing identification of tire age and manufacturing details--information required for safety verification. Despite all of this, the Henderson store initially claimed: "This meets CarMax standards." That statement alone is alarming. When the issue was escalated further, Adam, the Reconditioning Manager, contacted me and offered the following response (verbatim): "You should have stopped at another CarMax store so we could re glue them on." That comment is beyond unacceptable. Does this manager understand basic tire safety--or manufacturer warranty requirements at all? Re-gluing decals to tire sidewalls would: * Further alter the tire * Further violate Michelin warranty practices * Potentially worsen sidewall integrity * Mask existing damage instead of correcting it The idea that a CarMax employee would suggest intentionally reapplying adhesive to a tire sidewall raises serious concerns about training, safety standards, and reconditioning practices at this location. After that suggestion failed to hold up, the explanation changed again. I was then told the damage was caused by *me removing the decals--decals that should never have been applied to the tires in the first place. So the narrative keeps shifting: * First: "Meets CarMax standards" * Then: "You should have had us re glue them" * Then: "You caused the damage" This is deflection and blame-shifting, not customer service. CarMax sold a high-performance vehicle with: * Altered tires * Unknown adhesive methods * Possible sidewall buffing * Obscured DOT identification * Documented professional recommendations for replacement And is now refusing to correct the issue over a set of tires. If this is how CarMax handles a clear, documented safety concern on a $70,000 vehicle, it raises serious questions about what other shortcuts are being taken during "reconditioning." I am requesting immediate review by regional and corporate management, including: * Why altered tires were approved for sale * Why DOT codes were obscured * Why an employee suggested re-gluing tire decals * Why manufacturer and dealership safety recommendations were ignored Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend CarMax--especially this location--to anyone concerned about safety or accountability. read more

Typical car dealer bait and switch. Did my deal online...it's supposed to be hassle free...lol. They offered me $XXXXX for my trade. Got approved based on my trade, payments all set, etc. Took them 2 weeks to transfer my purchase to the Henderson facility (I paid transport fees). Arrived per our scheduled appointment, after a 2 hour drive, only to be told that my trade had to be "re-appraised" because their offer expired after 7 days. Huh? Took you jokers 2 weeks to get it here, how can your trade offer be expired? Needless to say, no deal was done. I wasted 4 hours out of my day. Have done several deals with Carvana. NEVER had to deal with BS like this. Nobody even went the SLIGHTEST bit out of their way to make it right. Run! Do not do business with these clowns. read more

When we picked up the vehicle it had 3 very large splatter stains on the paint job. Left front side fender, left back side fender, and rear bumper diffuser. Which were not documented when we purchased the vehicle online. When we left the dealership, we were told to bring it back and they would buff it out. We came back and they said they could not do it because they had to have the detailing shop do it. So we came back a second time, and the detail shop could only get some of it partially removed. After I demanded they fix it they said they had to order a rear bumper diffuser and replace it. So we came back a third time and after about 3 hours they told me the new part was cracked, and they had to order another one. So we came back a fourth time, and they replaced the rear bumper diffuser. YOU CAN STILL SEE THE DISCOLORATION IN THE LEFT FRONT SIDE FENDER AND LEFT BACK REAR FENDER. Four different visits to get something partially taken care of that should have been fixed before we even came to pick up the car. Very disappointing as we both work and had to take time off of work four times for something that should have never been. This is our sixth vehicle that we have bought from CarMax. It might be our last. read more

Just bought a lemon from this place and NO ONE did anything to rectify the situation. Purchased the car and only made it home safe despite the "safety inspection" and the car being ready to go! Lol... I had 10 days to return so took it to another mechanic who right away diagnsosed the problem yet "Bertha" at carmax still doesn't know what's wrong with the car 7 hours later... Mgr Tuesday night "Michelle" and the other 4-5 people I talked to didn't do anything to rectify... lol, Beware of this place ... and good luck to the mechanic still trying to diagnose the problem read more

If you consider be a provider of automotive parts for this dealer, be very careful, Carmax in Henderson Nevada, purchase parts from you, then they return the used broken parts in exchange and get Credit for those parts, a very fraudulent operation. If this dealer does that to providers, I can't think what they are willing to do to customers. read more

Lower used car prices then dealership, I recommended especially cheap oil change too. They also do spark plugs.

customer service needs to improve never thought I'd have to be asking for a sales person at a slow dealership. They tell you to just walk the lot by yourself. No help at all. read more

We had an appointment, checked in, and were told to wait at a table. We waited for over a half an hour and we were never acknowledged by any of the eight employees who were milling around, talking and joking with each other. Why bother making an appointment when you're just going to be ignored for a half an hour? I guess they weren't interested in our business. After thirty minutes of waiting, we just left. read more

Don't bother making an appointment to test drive a car they'll put it "on hold" for you and then sell it before your appointment anyway. I had an appointment to see a car on Wednesday just to see on the website today, Saturday, that the car has been sold and is not available. read more
