How did this outfit receive anything over ONE STAR ratings? Where you do start? 1. Complete ripoff artists - I brought two headlight bulbs (H11 model) to the front and was told that each bulb represented TWO separate charges so instead of the $3.24 on their website, they were going to charge me $9.50 PER bulb. When I pointed out that the bulb is a single unit and cannot be disassembled, they gave some lame excuse of how the bayonet is a separate piece from the bulb as if they are not bonded together and the bulb will somehow work without it. I bought a single bulb at that point as I NEEDED it, not because I didn't feel like I was being cheated, which I was. 2. Completely unprofessional - No puedes asumir que los clientes no hablan español porque no parecen latino. (You can't assume that customers cannot speak Spanish because they don't look Latino.) I heard customers being insulted by the staff in Spanish apparently so they wouldn't understand what was being said. 3. Completely unprofessional #2 - I really don't need to hear about your personal life while I'm trying to conduct business. Overheard intimate details of people's lives that they really needed to share at break time away from customers. 4. They don't seem to hire people who actually understand auto parts - There are so many incidents of this that it would be joke if #1 hadn't happened. How hard is it to hire people who know what they are doing? 5. Treats everyone like they are criminals - Just because some people steal doesn't mean that we all do. If you can't tell good customers from bad ones, then you really need new people working for you. I was feeling bad when I saw people stealing items out in the yard until the incident when this business ripped me off. Now if I ever use their business again (which isn't likely as they don't have many makes or models of my type of car) I'm not going say anything when I see guys loading up on switches, relays and fuses that they can fit in their pockets. Big shout out to Eduardo L. and team for helping us out! They helped remove two old vehicles and left us with cash! We had a 1986 Chevy Van that had been sitting in a garage for nearly 30 years and a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan that had been sitting for 5ish years. It was time to get rid of it. Once we found the titles/keys, they were at the home within 24 hours with a check for each. They came on 2 separate occasions because we found the titles at different times, but the service and communication was top notch. They'll give you a window for pick up and then narrow that window down the day before so you don't have to lose your whole day :) I'd recommend them to anyone in the area looking to haul off an old vehicle. Didn't really need anything from this place, just tagged along with my dad as he needed some parts. It's a self-serve salvage yard. This is one of his favorite places to get used parts for cheap. He comes here about once or twice a month. My dad just usually brings a set of hand tools - screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and sockets. He only gets small to medium size parts. We saw others brought in their whole tool box and others removing a whole engine lol. Entry is $1 per person, check in via the touch screen monitor at the gates. The yard appeared organized by car brand/model. Prices seemed reasonable, bumpers $15, fenders $20, set of wheels $250. read more

I was removing a rear end from a ford and upon arriving to the check out and paying it and a radio. he interrupted me and the cashier to charge me more for the radio, he was extremely rude trying to over charge me. Gonzalez the supervisor doesn't show that he cares .his careless attitude while laughing when asked about the entrance fee wasn't professional. if you look young expect to get treated like garbage by everyone including the supervisor. Came in for an antenna for my 1997 which is manual (physically have to slide the antenna in and out of the mast) which was easy there was good amount of civics so grabbing a decent shape was no problem. Came up to the cashier bought it and thought 'wow why so pricy' now came to mind once I read it he over charged me for a automatic antenna which is $21 bucks more from the measly $5. So I turned around and ask for a refund but I couldn't because I charged with card so instead I got store credit. Of course I also managed to get tires, fuses, jacks, bulbs, and etc. All I had to do was cannibalized two cars. This was my first experience actually rummaging in a junkyard. Can't wait find back up parts for my car as well. Personal hint. Entrance fee is $1, bring your own tools, and carts & wheelbarrow are free to use. If you want tires, they got them. If you got one with wheels, you have to remove it yourself somehow if you want to save $11 bucks. read more

Wow. Since I was 5 I've loved taking things apart and I am finally getting better at putting them back together again. This was my first serious visit to a salvage yard and I brought a bag of tools, two jack stands and a hydraulic jack to scavenge some body bushings for my '70 GTO. The yard has close to 2000 cars to pull parts from, as well as about 1000 more ready to move into the yard when the well-picked-apart junked cars are ready to move to the car crusher. Old rusty Home Depot carts are available to haul your tools around, and there are paved 'streets' in between the gravel yards of cars. To the East are all of the imports, to the West are all the American cars and all SUVs, trucks and vans. I found a mid-seventies Cadillac to work on (pics coming soon) and it took me about 90 minutes to separate its body from its frame, jack up the body, and pull 5 body bushings (more than enough - I really only needed one!). What an amazing place to practice your wrenching and to learn a lot. I even pulled the trunk carpet out of the salvage car to lay down on the gravel to make myself comfortable while working. Retail cost of a new bushing kit for my '70 GTO? $129.95 from the cheapest online store. Body bushings are never available at local auto parts stores, so the salvage yard was my best option. Total cost of bushings and bushing bolts/washers that I found at Nevada Pic-A-Part? $6. Loving junkyards right about now. Never wanted to go to them in Atlanta because kudzu grows in them and mosquitoes love hanging out wherever kudzu grows. If you need late model Japanese or American bits or parts, reconsider going to the store and consider bringing your tools to Nevada Pic-A-Part. Awesome! read more

Lot of vehicles are available. But really bad in customer care specially if you don't speak Spanish. Some months back their website was kind of good. Customers were able at least to find available vehicles, a photo of each vehicle, arrival dates of the vehicles and the location in the yard. Then the site became a mess arrival dates became the date the customer search on, and photos disappeared. I informed them about the mess and didn't see any upgrade. Now no one can search the vehicles in the yard. Customers need to go and find what vehicles are available. Before visiting no one know if required vehicle out of which one need of remove parts, is available. Two three time I informed them by emails and in person but found no solution. That means they don't care about the customers. read more

Here is some feedback regarding my last visit to Pic A Part. For some background information you may be interested to know that I have been coming to Pic a part for easily over 30 years, since I was a young teenager. I have fond memories of pulling parts with my father. It was always known that if you were willing to put in a little effort and risk, very often you could find exactly what you need at a bargain price. Unfortunately, I feel that this is no longer the case. I pulled a window regulator from a small compact car along with a battered spare wheel. Imagine my surprise when my parts cost was only slightly less than a brand new part with a warranty! Plus a core charge on a used part in principle is absurd! I was so disgusted that I left the parts and walked out. This is NOT the first time I've had this reaction. On one of my previous visits I managed to pull a hydro boost unit from a ford diesel that with some retrofitting could be modified to work with my truck. Upon checking out the teller proceeded to tally up the hydro post unit along with every hose and electrical harness connected to the unit as a separate charge. This untested unit would have cost me over $190 when he was done! For just a little more I can buy a rebuilt unit with a warranty! Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that my long history with Pic a Part is at an end. It simply is not the typical junkyard most of us are looking for. How sad that such a long standing fixture in the Las Vegas community is falling prey to corporate sellout. read more

Scheduled a pick up today. Was told someone would call between 8:00-8:30 AM. That never happened. I called at 11:00 AM to find out someone would be here between 2:30-3:30. At 4:00 still no show. I called an waiting on hold for 30 minutes. Now they're closed for the day! HORRIBLE service! I never asked for the car to be picked up today. They just told me it would be today. So I went ahead and stood in line with the jack for ten minutes in the hot sun. Once I got to the 'cashier' he told me it would be 12.50! I told him the other employee told me it was 5.50 and he had the NERVE to tell me the crank for the jack was sold SEPARATELY! He even gave me a STUPID analogy! He said if I came in to buy a door, would they give me the whole car? He even told me I could operate the jack with a screwdriver!!!! That it didn't need the crank! Someone tried to steal my old backup car. Bashed the windows, crowed bar the door, smashed the key lock and the ignition so I went to salvage some parts. Entry has always been $1 even when I was a kid. Crazy Willy used to be their ad spokesperson "bring your own tools. $1 entry." Prices are posted on a spreadsheet behind the guard shack. Bring 2 screw drivers and a 10mm ratchet with extension at minimum. The cars are organized by foreign and domestic. It's not that badly organized. I've seen worse. Kind of cool to see cars in various stages of stripped. You can learn how things are put together here just by looking and following the lines. Customer service can be better but oh well. It's a junk yard. As long as there's no dog chasing me I am ok. They told me the keys were in the cars; but after searching 5-6 of them, it became pretty futile so I gave up. The prices on EBay are better than here or just as good even with shipping so you may bypass this place. You save the trouble of scraping your hands and baking in the heat to remove something. For example I removed a door lock cover that sold for $2.50 but it's $2.85 shipped from EBay and its new. But since I was there I removed it. I needed a window so I had to come. It was $27.50 versus $50 from EBay plus I didn't have to wait a week for it to get here. So check EBay first and come here second. I learned how to rekey the lock and saved $30-50 from the locksmith and the part. There used to be another location off Nellis where the majority of them are found. Not sure if it's sill there. Some junk yards don't let you rummage, they get you the part but they charge quite a bit more too. FYI, I didn't have the tools to remove the window so I ended up asking a Hispanic dude to help me remove it and gave him a few bucks for using his tool. Sure beats going home and spending gas and money to go back, or waste time trying to remove it with a plier. read more

Make sure you 100% want the item before buying, whatever promises they give you about exchanging within 30 days is pure fabrication. They do not honour their exchange policy. When buying things, prices are just kinda made up on the spot by the cashier. We have been a couple different times and the prices for the same item change. If you bring a lady friend with you, they won't charge her admission because 'she's a girl'. While you do save $1, this is extremely sexist. If you know what you are looking for, then by all means swoop in and grab it. However, do not expect quality, care or any kind of customer service. I found what I was looking for on the first vehicle I saw, and trust me, it wasn't a common part at the other location. Prices just suck all around. Ive been going here since we moved to Nevada in 99' .the gate fee has always been one buck,I look for what I need new and price it ,then I get price from picapart. On my last visit I needed a six cd exchanger for wife's car,they don't sell it anymore,and a custom alternative was big bucks. I found one in a car,removed it and paid $18 plus I got a warranty for 1o% more.The cd works ,wife is happy. when I walk in this place I treat everyone like my friend,no one has ever been rude to me.The cashier Hector can take a joke as well as dish one out,it has always been a Good expierience.
