I walked into without an appointment and was greeted while all the salesman were working and a few minutes later Sergio introduced himself. We talked about what I want and what my situation was. I hate dealerships but this one was different. I've owned about 20 car's throughout my years. I've walked out of countless dealers because of games, pushiness, almost harassment. Not here. Without making this review too long, Jodi the manager came over, sat down and gave me real, honest numbers without all the nonsense most dealers do. Her presence is strong and she knows the business. It was late and they were closing so I left and came back 2 days later (my next day off) and she remembered the exact deal and once again, sat down, talked to me and gave me a bare bottom price that ended up being better than I expected. 20 minutes later I signed paperwork, got my new VW and I couldn't be happier. Update 04/26/2026: After my initial review, the dealership reached out and asked me to bring the car in for inspection. They acknowledged that the missing rear wheel liner was an oversight on their end and took care of installing a new one at no cost. I also want to mention that the salesperson apologized, and I don't believe this was his fault--it seems more like a gap in the CPO inspection process rather than anything intentional. While the original issue was frustrating, I do appreciate that the dealership owned the mistake and resolved it without any hassle. I recently had my 07 EOS in for an oil change. In follow up additional services were recommended. The paperwork stated both front lower control arm bushings were torn/split. I spoke with Abigail Wileman for additional explanation since I did not personally bring in my car. She offered no explanation except that the repair should be done within a couple of months. She also recommended 4 wheel computerized alignment. The recommended repairs were estimated to cost $1210.53 Today my car was examined at a AAA repair facility for a second opinion. I was invited in to the shop to stand under my vehicle and the control arm bushings were identified and they were not damaged in any way. I have been a customer at Findlay for many many years dating back to a Jetta I previously owned. However in light of the turnover of personnel in the service department, and this most recent service experience I no longer feel confident with the service department. This is by far the worst dealership ever. We purchased a car 4 years ago here and had a great experience, so naturally we thought coming back here for a lease would be a good idea. We were so wrong about that. They were short staffed in salesman. Nobody greeted us upon arrival. We didn't catch her name, she was an older white lady. I just purchased an ID.4 from Christine and couldn't be happier with the process. I came in 3 times total - twice before I purchased. Christine and team were friendly, patient, and super helpful. I never felt pressured or like I was wasting their time. The entire team was really respectful of my timing and it was just overall a great experience. When we came in to buy we worked with Luke and Christine, and again the experience was great. It was still the usual back and forth and negotiation and all of that but I got a car at a price I was happy with. Finance was quick and easy, and all in all it was about a 5 hour process from test drive to walking out the door. They did have water, ice, coffee drinks, and tea while you wait. We lease cars so we go through this process every 3 years and just did this a month ago at a different dealership with my husbands car. No. Instead, they sent an ESTIMATE of over $800 BEFORE they could reprogram FOBs. Because their computer was not communicating w my car, they wanted to TRY - TRY - this "repair" but they wouldn't guarantee it! Reprogramming the FOBs, btw, would still be extra. I declined to TRY an unguaranteed exercise in graft. So I was still charged $110.25 for "diagnosing" a pretend problem which they may or may not have solved. I'm very disappointed in the product and how the company handles their service department. not only make it seem like it's no big deal but taking time away from your day or scheduling time to fix the car extremely often is a huge imposition and not the point in buying a car at all the car is supposed to give you free freedom to pick up and go wherever you want or make plans or work when you need to, but this car is always broken and anybody who thinks that that's OK is out of their mind. I regret buying my 2023 Volkswagen Taos. Brakes have squealed and ground since day one, "repaired" every 6-8 weeks but never fixed. At 12k miles, the head gasket failed. VW admitted it's a "known issue" and still sold me the car. My warranty was reduced from 60k to 25k without notice. I'm disabled and clearly stated I needed a reliable car. I got a lemon. Buyback requests were ignored. Don't buy here. Updates: I purchased a 2023 VW Taos in September 2023. From day one, I had significant issues with the brakes -- constant grinding and squealing. The dealer "repaired" the brakes multiple times, but the issue kept coming back every 6-8 weeks. Still grind and squeal At 12,000 miles, the head gasket failed, said its hot outside add water. Twice. and the dealership staff admitted it was a known issue but refused to issue a buyback. To make matters worse, I found out my warranty was downgraded from 60,000 miles to 25,000 miles without my knowledge, and they entered a fake email address on my account, preventing me from getting important updates. The dealership's approach to customer service has been deceptive and unprofessional. I've been repeatedly told that issues like the brake noise are "normal," and I've been forced to endure constant repairs. As a disabled individual who needs a reliable vehicle for work, I am extremely disappointed with both Volkswagen and the dealership. Absolute chaos in the Service Dept from the time I drove in. They couldn't enter my VIN right, or phone #. Told me my repair was over 1k. Provided zero back up. I understand there was "an" issue so agreed to repair. When completed they tried to organize an uber. I called twice to tell them they put the wrong address in. Never updated. Then tried to send a Lyft. SAME thing. Then had to take my payment over the phone and delivered my car. Driver didn't want to give me my receipt or detailed list of what they did. Car was DIRTY! I want to share my experience to caution others. Despite the fact that I personally completed all of the purchase paperwork, Mr. Hoffman entered everything under my husband's name only. When I raised the issue and provided clear proof of my involvement and completion of the documents, he attempted to dismiss my concerns and even suggested I had not completed the paperwork at all. This behavior felt not only dismissive but gaslighting--an attempt to make me doubt my own actions despite the evidence. Thankfully, I have the documentation to prove what actually happened. A dealership should respect all parties involved in a purchase and handle paperwork accurately. In this case, that standard was not met, and I left feeling disrespected and disregarded. They give you the run around and just refer you to a number that has no intention of helping or responding with any responsibility for any defects. I have opened up a case with consumer protection for VW twice now, and they just close it with no notice or interaction with the customer at all. So I got a second opinion and they were able to find the actual problem (completely different than what VW said needed fixed). I went back to VW to tell them and the manager was so rude and told me they didn't fix the problem and that my check engine light would come back on in 1 wk or 1 month. Yes, I was devastated & hurt but the whole time just THANKING GOD that my son was not in the car when her car smashed into mine. Anyways, long story short... I needed a new car. Like, FAST. Like, in 3 days fast. I went to several local, reputable dealerships in a very short amount of time... Have you ever gone into a business (somewhere) after a LOOONG day of running kids around, you're in mom leggings, not feeling your hottest lol - your hair is not done (it's in a mom bun) and you have no makeup on??? I bought a new 2022 VW Atlas in 2021 and shortly afterwards noticed unpleasant grinding and squeaking sounds from my front brakes. At my first service I mentioned the noise and my brakes were cleaned. Soon after the noises returned, and persisted since. Every time I mentioned it as the dealership I was told the noise doesn't effect brake performance and it was something that happened with all Atlases. I finally got utterly fed up with the noise from my brakes and complained to a higher level at the dealership, above the Service Manager level. I had a long and detailed response which was faultless, my complaint had been heard and addressed as needed. I took my Atlas into the dealership and my brake rotors were resurfaced and new brake pads were installed. The result, silence while braking. Every time since. I was treated very professionally at the dealership and my brake upgrade was done quickly. I am once again delighted with my Atlas and Volkswagen, I was very pleased with how the problem was finally resolved, my only disappointment was that it took so long for the right and necessary thing to be done. My Atlas is my fifth Volkswagen and I have always liked them, the value for money provided is excellent and now Findlay has addressed my problem to my satisfaction, I am happy to recommend both the brand and the dealership once more. Sometimes it is necessary to stick with a complaint until someone takes the time to do something about it. read more

Today Findlay VW has taken poor service to a new low. I asked them for a ride home after dropping off my car for service which is standard procedure here. I was told that their 'system is down' so I will have to arrange (and PAY FOR) my own transportation home. And then again when I return to pick up my car. This is such poor service that it's hard to believe someone thinks it's a good idea. My transportation costs will be about $50 today just for the privilege of having them perform the repair. My daughter just bought her first car from Findlay Volkswagen. It is a certified used car but she was so proud and excited. The salesperson assured her this car was in great shape. It's been a little over a month and the car has spent 50% of the time at the dealership. First the heater core was out. Now, it turns out the catalytic converter is out and some vacuum pump. She still has the limited warranty however she's being told it'll be almost $3000 for her to fix it. This is ridiculous! It's been in the shop more than she has had it home. First off, long story short, I really don't like car dealerships, so the fact that I've given them a 4 out of 5 stars is saying something. I bought my new Atlas in November 2024. Overall, it's pretty good. I still haven't gotten used to the gas pedal yet (seems like it's at idol or all-in. I find it difficult to make a gradual rev increase from a dead stop), and the infotainment display likes to take a sporadic crap every once in a while but always seems to figure itself out and come back to status quo. AND although I ran a car-fax thing on the vehicle before I bought it and I specifically asked the salesman if there was an active recall, there wasn't when I purchased it. BUT, VW wasted no time in issuing a recall for the engine cover possibly being installed incorrectly and starting a fire a few months later. I got an email from VW advising of the recall on Feb 25, 2025. With less than 5,000 miles on the car at this point, the brakes already have a faint squeal so that'll be addressed when it goes in for it's first dealership administered oil change at 10,000 miles. Overall, the car could be worse...I really do like it. I went from being a 20 year original owner of an F-150 to the Atlas because I felt Ford was letting quality go by the wayside (relax, it's an opinion based on countless hours researching all the vehicles available and my perceptions of the new F-150's after sitting in a couple of the new offerings. Hearing about the coolant leak issues, the other ecoboost issues, etc etc, I'm sure there are millions on the road not experiencing problems, but I wasn't going to buy one and chance it and I wasn't going to buy a dodge ram with the ecodiesel that reportedly blows up shortly after the warranty has expired). I figured, why not a VW. It is one of the few decently priced offerings that I felt was comfier than the current base or lower priced F-150 models. It really does seem like a big vehicle. I can't wait to take it on a longer road trip. Actually, on the highway, it's mpg calculator indicates it's getting better mpg than what was on the sticker. If driving on the streets, eh, not as well for me. The dealership itself? Just had the vehicle there for an emergency tire replacement since we purchased the tire warranty. In and out in an hour (Thank you, Vincente Lomeli) with no charge to me. Salesman Sergio Mendoza was great. He was personable as well as professional and was willing to work on a couple of things to make the deal more appealing. He really made it seem like he wanted to get me into this vehicle because he knew I wanted it....not a hard sell. Most of the dealerships here in the valley I visited were really nice and respectful and no hard sell. But see Sergio if you want a car salesman who genuinely makes it seem like your happiness is important to him. The ONLY objectionable thing I find with this dealership is the strong "car freshener" odor permeating the entire dealership. The wife and I have a perfumy smell sensitivity. It's kind of like when you pass someone or sit next to someone who is wearing far too much cologne or parfum. Our eyes water and our throats feel like they're burning. But we realize alot of people like smell so we were willing to live with it. Just wanted to mention it incase some car shoppers have this issue, this might not be the dealership for you, because purchasing cars takes hours of sitting signing papers. Recap: I recommend this dealership for the initial sale and for subsequent service department visits. Everyone we have dealt with there was nice people but the scent they use inside the dealership we feel can be off-putting for some people. But if we didn't feel it was worth it for the service we received, we would have left. Thanks for taking a week to help out my girlfriend get new tires. 4 miles on it and stuck on the freeway now thanks to this great quality product you put on her vehicle. Tire warranty program? Don't bother, clearly they're remanufactured and suffered near catastrophic tread separation. Update: you can't find a record of a car you kept for nearly a week while waiting for the tire "you guys had to order", with no option for a loaner for her. Went to a tire dealer and got 4 new tires after this debacle, not trusting anything they put on the vehicle.
