My family had to sell a car for a disabled member. We had very limited time and they knew it. As one of the members I felt like, not only did they take advantage of a disabled person but also because we were on a deadline crunch. They gave us a super lowball offer that was SO insulting. Unfortunately we had no choice but to accept that offer. I personally will never give them another opportunity to earn my business. This company should be ashamed of themselves!!!! read more

Service department does the bare minimum. An oil leak that was discovered was pushed off as someone "not cleaning the bottom side. The tire rot that they hid by shining the tires was "not enough to cause an issue to replace." The transmission code that was thrown at 6 pm on Friday after getting the vehicle back at 3 pm, was unable to be dropped off at the facility due to be closed on the weekend, means that the care max plan doesn't cover the rental. This is all within owning the vehicle for 3 months. Just buy new. read more

ACTUAL STAR RATING: "0" I bought a car from CarMax located at 1000 Warm Springs Road in Henderson, give-or-take 10-years ago. At the time, I wasn't into reviewing much of anything, so I let what happened drop. And to be honest, CarMax ultimately did what I expected of them with some gentle prodding from my wife and me. To be accurate, it was a little more prodding from her than me. So why make a mountain out of a molehill, right? Fast forward ten years, 10-years, yes I said TEN YEARS! Since our purchase, we haven't stopped in at any CarMax for all that time. The other day my brother-in-law and I dropped in at the store located at 6755 W. Sahara Road. My further review of that CarMax details what happened. In 2011 we gave Henderson Carmax 33 or 34 days to repair a vehicle we had just purchased. I specifically asked our salesman if we went over the 30-day warranty, would the CarMax return policy still be honored, and he told both of us the guarantee would "absolutely" stand. There had been disturbing engine noises from the day we picked up the car. My wife and I felt it was a precursor of "things" to come, so we ran it back and forth in their shop. After three visits to their shop, I asked CarMax for our money back, and they responded by requesting we bring it in the fourth time. It was then that we asked the salesman about going over their 30-day guarantee. Having been told they would honor the return policy, we left the car a fourth time, thereby going over 30-days. Long story short, the noise never was fixed, and at 33 or 34 days, I asked for our money back. Of course, the manager then got involved, and the salesman denied telling us that we could "absolutely" return it. While I never lost my temper, patience, or composure and never made any threats or even raised my voice, I (especially my wife) can be pretty insistent when $40,000.00 is on the table. The bottom line was that they took the car back and refunded our money a week or so later. When we left, I even shook the manager's hand and thanked him. Ten years later, I am persona non grata at all CarMax stores. And to the first question I asked at the top of my review of the Sahara Store, I have to laugh at a company this size being so petty and keeping me in their database for ten years not to sell me (I'm not sure my about my wife) another car. How ridiculous and small-minded can a multi-billion-dollar company get? And by the way, if CarMax keeps blacklisting people, they may go by way of their other company, Circuit City, which went belly up 15 years ago. No pictures for this place because I'm sure as hell not going to promote a business that blacklists people for less than justifiable reasoning. REVIEW AT A GLANCE RECOMMENDED: Not if you've crossed them in the past. SERVICE: Poor at best, non-existent at worst. PRICE: Mostly Overpriced PANDEMIC: non-existent PARKING: Average REASON: Purchase a vehicle read more

100% money back guarantee!!!!!!!, I bought a used car from here and later founded a car from somewhere else, CARMAX, gave me 100% of my money back. When my daughter finally found a car she liked we drove to this location (20 miles away). It was towards closing time but they were welcoming and brought the vehicle upfront so we could take a test drive. The salesperson (young Hispanic male, when I find his name, I'll update) was professional, respectful and helpful. He helped my daughter problem-solve her pre-financing info and arranged for final transaction for another day...they held the car for her!!! She ended-up not going with her own financing. Carmax's financing was a smooth transition. I have never had or seen such a fast transaction. No haggling, no add-on's, no rude finance person, no stack of papers to sign...I trusted them that my daughter went back by herself to sign and pick-up her car. She loves her car!! Thank you Carmax for making my daughter's experience an awesome one. read more

I have never been so disrespected as a potential customer in my life. Here I sit at Carmax Henderson with a credit score North of 700, a decent paying jobs, a professional license, no bills (the ideal customer) waiting for "3 hours" for new car purchase assistance. The Branch Manager has the audacity, after "3 hours of waiting" to concoct a story of "someone told her I was just waiting around for 3 hours hoping to see a salesperson" and unfortunately they're closed and no one can see me now". ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! I guess the actions of the greeter at the front desk - who took my name and phone number and entered me on "an electronic list in a computerized system" - could not be VERIFIED by an entire branch manager. And I mean certainly the person responsible for confirming appointments and placing people on wait lists could have been consulted to confirm my status. Or MAYBE the Branch Manager could have "LOOKED" at that list and saw I was ON that list for service, then apologize profusely, create an alternate plan for me to return the next morning, jumping any lines for immediate service for my inconvenience. INSTEAD I was told to leave and advised the next day "I'll just be in line behind whoever gets there first. No special treatment." 0% compassion, guilt or remorse. Devon is a dreadful manager if she is in fact the "pentium of authority" like she stated after I asked to speak to that upper level manager. She is cocky, insensitive, arrogant, insulting and has a very cold hearted, crass way of dealing with potential customers. Your non apologetic disposition and outright rude handling of my business yesterday will be the topic of many calls and emails. I will not relent until you are severely reprimanded for how you treated me last night. Shame on you! read more

This was my first time ever purchasing from CarMax. My experience was TERRIFIC! No hustling you or jerking your chain. I met a total of TWO people while I was there. I felt confident in the quality of vehicle I was purchasing. I pointed out a damaged plastic on the vehicle, they took pictures and will be ordering the part to replace it. This process was amazing compared to any dealership Ive been to. I was treated with kindness and respect. Ronnie, who helped me with my purchase, was terrific. He was such a nice gentleman and was very knowledgable about the entire process. He was patient every step of the way. I highly recommend him. Shiloh helped me with my down payment, she was very sweet and excited for my purchase! I had a terrific experience at CarMax and will be there to purchase my next vehicle! read more

Sales department was great but service is terrible! It's July 8th and I bought this car in April and I'm still trying to get fixed what they promised me they'd fix in the first 30 days. Again, I had a great sales experience but the service department has soured my expert so I won't be referring anyone to carmax. read more

Having used Carmax in the past, were were curious what our well-maintaintained used cars would be worth. I've been in contact with Walter T. and set up an appointment to get the estimate and it was perfect for what we were looking for. After finding a suitable new vehicle, we took my husband's car in to sell and it was such an easy and quick process. Vanessa was able to get the payoff quickly and we received a check the same day. We will definitely be back again in the future! Thank you! read more

This is a great operation. I didn't have an appointment, but I was able to sell my car in a reasonable time, around an hour and half. They were efficient and nice too, working on the estimate right away. I took care of my car, but because it had almost 220,900 miles, I got a low price. It was better than what Auto Nation gave me though. I am satisfied with the service, and I will sell my car to them again in the future. read more

Don't waste your time at this location. Worst customer experience trying to buy a car for my son. I had originally set an appointment at the Henderson carmax at 8pm. They appraised our car right away , however we waited 50 minutes and they had no salesman to help us. So the manager Chaz came and explaine to us that they close at 9pm and wouldn't have anyone to help us so we would have to come back the next day. I asked him why we needed to come back when we had an appointment at 8pm and I made 3 days ago . He said it was an appointment to reserve the car but it didn't guarantee a salesman to help us. Seriously... then what's the point of making an appointment if I can't drive and buy the car. I've bought 29 cars in my life and never have been turned away especially after having an appointment. If there's no one to help a customer and you're the manager, then you're supposed to help the customer. That's management 101 common sense people. Needless to say we didn't go back , but because they gave us a good price on the trade my son found a great car at the centennial store. I explained to Brady the manager what happened in Henderson and he took care of us right away. He gave us the best salesman Rain. Rain was so nice and answered all our questions. He even explained by putting in the extended warranty in the loan and adding the money we were going to pay for it out of pocket to our down payment, it lowered our interest rate by 1.5% APR. Which dropped the payment $50 , we were blown away. My son got a 2020 altima with less than 2k miles, practically brand new. He is happy as can be, and yes it took until 9:30 pm to finish the paperwork and they didn't kick us out or make us come back the next day. So I give 5 stars to centennial and 0 stars to Henderson. read more

BAIT AND SWITCH BUYER BEWARE CARMAX DESERVES A ZERO To all of those of you who are contemplating ordering a car from another CARMAX location to be transferred to a CARMAX of your choice DO THE FOLLOWING: TAKE A SCREENSHOT of the price of the car you will be transferring, then pay the $99 fee to transfer the car to your location. What I believe happened in my situation is that the price of the car when received by Henderson's CARMAX was increased by $3,000. I went back to the email that I received indicating the transfer was in progress; however, no where in the email reflected the price of the car prior to its transfer. I tried going back to the original website I found it on, but it had been removed from the listing. I asked CARMAX to provide me with the original list price, but stated they were not capable of doing that; hence, what I believe is considered to be bait and switch. The salesman Max was arrogant and stated that I was insulting him because I was asking to see the original price before the transfer. Really? The manager on duty that day Michelle was even more arrogant stating that if I did not like it I did not have to buy the car. In this day and age with state of the art technology, everything is retrievable. When a client asks to see the previous price of a car, the client should NEVER be questioned. They are just being cautious trying to avoid being ripped off. That is your right. I will NEVER set foot in another CARMAX again. You are dealing with snaky salesmen and managers. I have also filed with the Federal Trade Commission for deceptive practices. Moral of the story, if you choose CARMAX ,make sure that you screen shot the listed price of the car before paying the transfer fee read more

The person who helped asked a few question and then I had the next 30 or so minutes to just relax before my car was fully appraised. The first time my husband and I bought a car here we had a pretty smooth experience. I attribute some of that to the fact that we were not "shopping around". We knew exactly what we wanted, found it online, and had it shipped to our location with the expectation of buying it barring some unforeseen issue with the car. This time, I did a lot of research when I needed a car to fit 3 carseats across, and I thought I narrowed it down well, but still needed to see the options, test drive, and shop around. This location and my sales person did not make this a pleasant or welcoming environment or process. I scheduled to have a vehicle shipped CarMax Henderson so I could see and test drive it. When I got there, I told the sales person that it was the first time I was looking at this particular make/model so I wasn't sure it was right for me. She replied, "If I knew you were just looking, I would have showed you one we already had on the lot." I was almost made to feel like I did something wrong by reserving this particular vehicle, and it made us uncomfortable. Not to mention, if the website showed any of this specific make/model/year/trim on their lot, I would have been happy to reserve that one instead. When the original car turned out not to be the right fit, she let us wander around the lot by ourselves. She offered no significant help or guidance. When there was one particular car on the website that I wanted to see, she had me walking all over the lot (at 7 months pregnant with 2 toddlers in tow) to try and find it, instead of inviting us to sit inside while she looked. Oh, and she never found it. When I finally thought I narrowed it down well enough I had a vehicle shipped from California that I was pretty certain I wanted. It was supposed to arrive within 7 days but, almost 2 weeks later, I still hadn't heard from them. I finally found the same make/model/year at a local dealership and, before making a decision, I really wanted to see the one I'd had shipped to CarMax. When I called, they said it was there, but was being held up for inspection. After explaining the situation (I was interested in the car but I wanted to make a decision quickly in case the one at the dealership sold) they told me there was nothing they could do to expedite the process. The sales person at that time was rude and unhelpful. I wound up buying a car from a dealership instead of Carmax and I still never heard about the vehicle that I had placed on hold. There were many times where a car was showing on the lot, but the sales person couldn't locate it. That mixed with no updates in the shipping process, and the car seemingly getting "lost" in transit, makes me think that Carmax as a whole doesn't have a reliable database or system. They should be able to locate cars on their lot in a more reliable manner than simply walking all over asking the customer "What color is it?" I won't come back for my next vehicle. read more

Was a nightmare experience working with Carmax. I bought a vehicle from them and within one month I had 4 service appointments. My car was in service longer than I was able to drive it during my first month of purchasing. Multiple transmission issues. I spoke with customer relations to voice my concerns. They sounded like they were eager to help resolve my dissatisfaction. They transferred me to Service Manager Chad from this location. While I did not by the vehicle from this location, I did get it serviced here. Chad offered little to no help. He offered nothing more than a "sorry". He seemed uninterested in the conversation and offered zero accommodation for this inconvenience. Very let down by this whole experience. If at all possible, don't buy from Carmax, and certainly don't get it serviced at this location. The only positive part to this experience was my wonderful service advisor Danny. DO NOT BUY from this location car max is a wonderful business, with excellent benefits how ever this location will give you the most lamest excuses on why they can't service your car. Not only did they not inspect my car thoroughly before releasing it to me they are so unprofessional they took the bow off of someone else's car and put it on mine, did not get to test drive my car. Very odd experience. I notice some concerning issues with my car as I drove it for the first day or two. They have a 90 day warrantee for any repairs or problems you may have with the car it has been over two weeks they have given me the same excuse for not being able to correctly look at the car. On top of that when you adress this concern to them they are not very kind about it or willing to help you out to resolve it. BF: "I need a new car." Me: "Ok, let's go to Carmax." BF: "I just want to look though." Car buying is not the funnest thing. So with the hassle-free services they have here, it was definitely a pleasant buying experience. We had researched a car online prior to the visit and wanted to see a certain one. We get there and Shannon approached us and offered her assistance. We looked around at other models, but the BF had is eye on the one we saw online. We test drove it, and he fell in love. Shannon pulled numbers and added in the trade in value for his old car. She showed us different financing options and the BF was happy with the result. We went off to go sign the paperwork and bam!! Done!! Our "new" car was outside waiting for us, washed and shiny. All in only 2 hours!! Shannon was with us the whole way through. She was so friendly and personable. She explained everything so thoroughly and was very patient with my BF and all his questions. It was nice of her to sit with us with during the signing to answer any last minute questions we had. (Which was a good thing because the guy who made us sign stuff was socially awkward and quiet.) At the end, she gave us a hug and wished us well. Thank you for everything Shannon. They broke my driver mirror and tried to say it wasn't their fault or responsibility to fix it ! The damaged occurred after I had taken the vehicle in for service for leaking antifreeze fluids! This was the second repair for the same issue! The first time they called me and told me the care was fixed and but it was worse then than when I dropped it off! They also damaged the back of my bumper and got paint on it! They buffed out the paint and then said it was house paint not found on their lot! How irresponsible and lack of accountability! Be warned! The service manager was useless and failed to provide any updates! The service front line was very calm and responsive but the manager showed lack of leadership! The only reason they get 2 stars is for their front line worker's . They are replacing my mirror but only after I complained! Make it right carmax! read more

Footnotes on my experience Waited over an hour after my appointment time to buy the car after spending $700 to ship it. Car had a broken seat (they tossed the part in the backseat), dead battery, and bad fuel tank which I wasn't told until after signing. Fuel tank took 2.5 weeks calling everyday to say the part was "on order". I finally call their executive office and the part magically came in an hour later. A day after picking it up there was red fluid all over my garage and the car was smoking out of both sides. My mom purchased this car from carmax in Fremont CA. We took a roadie trip to Nevada and the car broke down. Had it towed to carmax in Henderson NV, since that was the closest Carmax to us spoke to one of the sales managers there on a Saturday, August 13 and they said they'll have somebody look at it on Monday which was going to be August 15. Nobody never looked at the car Tuesday on August 16 steel nobody had lookeat the car that morning reached out to Carmax and ask them. Hey have you had a chance to look at it they said that they were having a hard time getting the car in there and that they will give me a call at the end of business day, Belinda in service she calls me and say we have some bad news the engine is and we can go ahead and fix the car or we can see what we do to get you another one. My mom says we'll go ahead and just fix the car OK so in the process of them fixing the car they had it from August 13 all the way up until September 12 almost a month they had told me that the engine had came in two weeks before and said that the car will be ready on Labor Day. OK my mom was more than patient with Carmaxx pick the car up for my mother on September 12 around 330. Had to return the car by 6:45 in the afternoon, the car would not go over 20 mph. It was shaking it was steel stuttering and now they are posting the same car where the engine just blew up on their website as coming soon when they need to do a thorough inspection of that vehicle, and make sure that car is actually drivable at the end of the day Carmax handling this situation has been very frustrating and time-consuming. My mom return to California and Carmax in Fremont issued my mom a check and because they've been doing fraudulent activity with the account that they've been writing checks from to the consumers. The check has been on hold since Tuesday, September 13 , my mom's down payment is still on hold and here it is Friday, September 16 reached out to corporate office. Corporate office turned around and transferred me back to Fremont California office and the people at Wells Fargo bank basically said hey so many people has been coming in to the bank getting their down payment back with Carmax because they are not inspecting these cars and they are breaking down my mother purchased that car on August 5 even paid a transfer fee and put tenet windows on it as you can see from the pictures below this post is solely intended to make you guys aware of the situation at hand and make sure anybody that purchased that 2013 mini Cooper countryman have that car thoroughly inspected because like I said the engine blew up they said they fixed it picked it up and had to turn around and take it back three hours later please look at the pictures below is the exact same car that my mother purchased and now they're trying to resell basically a lemon read more
