After checking with the manager, the waiter took back the meal, but still charged her full price for everything else. Instead of apologizing, he became loud and belligerent about how busy they were, which was embarrassing and unprofessional. It also felt like our large group received poor service because a 20% gratuity was already automatically added, and that charge was not very clear on the bill.
