This past Sunday (Memorial Day Weekend) We walked in and were greeted with a beautiful smile from the young lady standing there. Seated in the front, nice. Our waiter introduced himself (nice) and disappeared for about 15mins. He returns, took our orders recommended the cornbread because I was starving. When I tell you that cornbread is delicious, moist, soft and tastes like a cake...mmmmmmmmmmm good. I ordered a second batch. Our orders were cooked to perfection, seasoned to the Gods. At one point our waiter was no where to be found and another waiter (with a smile) refilled our drinks when we asked her with no problem. The karaoke was wonderful. Great singers, nice interactive vibes and crowd participation. We will definitely return when we're visiting Thank you

Takeout was fairly reasonable price-wise for a hefty helping of crawfish and crabmeat - not exactly easy to get to for us, but worth the drive to have a nice creative meal at-home. Quick service too and an interesting ambiance on the inside - think night club meets seafood shack. Wish there were a bit meatier pieces than the ones we got, but still pleased with the overall experience!

Ommggggg!!! Of course I've been to crafty crab many times in the DMV Area but nothing beats this Crafty Crab in RVA. Let's start with the excellent customer service! Soon as I walked in I was greeted and ALL the staff seemed to be excited to see me! I felt special ! And I felt very happy to spend my money here. Then I found a seat at the bar area (which was open with many seats) and the bar tender (Lex) Who was AWESOMEEEEEE!!! Greeted me , made suggestion for my food and drinks and made excellency drinks too by the way. My food was sooooo yummy and came out fast and hot! Also in the DMV area u never seen "Cajun rice" on our menus and I ordered that with shrimp and it was a HIT! Nothing but good things to say about this place and I will be back. Great job crafty crab Richmond!!!! ::::Tips Happy hour is from 3-7pm with specials on drinks and food A DJ was there The day I went and started playing Great music around 6:30 pm Nice vibe is here !!

I have been to crafty crab multiple times but this was my first time ordering the steam oysters (boom sauce) medium spicy. LISTEN. I'll go every day if I could! They were amazing. I also ordered the scallops medium spicy with boom sauce and they were good as well.

So yesterday, I tried the new seafood spot in RVA. Crafty Crab "Southside Plaza" My go to when I need to grab and go are Crab Cakes. Disclaimer: this is my review and I am a seafood lover Let's start with COVID is real and they were packed so I did take out! Fries: I think it was Cajun fries but I missed the Cajun taste. However they were orange. And fried in fish grease possibly. It lacked its own taste it was seafood flavored fries. Crab Cakes: they were soft fried, all filler, light on the Crab meat. Just Crab Cakes it was $13 add fries $15 I ordered my food left to hit the corner store and came back to my food being ready. Gives and idea of Sunday at Crafty Crab. They do have night themes and a full bar.

They have slightly redeemed there selves for my first dine in experience. My entire table ordered the ALL YOU CAN EAT $55.99 deal and honestly it's tooooo much food! You get (3) fried starters and a seafood boil option. I opted for crab bites, Fried oysters, and wings. Crab bites were good and a decent size & flavor. Fried oysters taste fresh but a little too fried on the batter in areas..overall good. Didn't even touch my wings because it's just so much food. For my boil I had (3) servings of crab legs for each choice. which also comes with egg & sausage. I barely could touch my egg, sausage & corn because again it was so much food. Keep in mind they do add tip automatically but it's less than 20% of the ticket, so you have the option to add more. Also, if one person gets the all you can eat...the entire table needs to order it because they do not want you sharing or leaving with the extra food.

First. A margarita should be served in a margarita glass without the fruit which makes it a mixed drink. Ok the food was pretty good. The mild spice is still really spicy but they do have broccoli which is a major plus for me. Great space and atmosphere.

First review! I think this branch opened recently because I received a menu in my mailbox. I decided to give it a try and it was quite satisfying! I got the 1 pound of headless shrimp in their The Boom sauce (mixed cajun, garlic, lemon pepper) with mild spice. The order comes with 1 corn and 2 potatoes, but I added corn on the side as well. The shrimp were big and juicy and the amount of food was sufficient. I liked their sauce - compared to other cajun seafood places I've had, their sauce is definitely more on the liquid side with more butter-y flavor and less "garlic/herb chunks." They double bagged the food (as many places would) and are available for delivery. Solid meal overall and would come back if I was craving seafood!

The rain ran us out of OBX early and missed out on our family crab broil. Search best seafood places in RVA, Crafty Crab won based on reviews and ratings. Went on a Friday afternoon with husband and 11 year old. We three we were warmly greeted and seated immediately by Glenda, who also was our waitress. Beyond knowledgeable, sweet, and patient. She wanted us to enjoy our meal. We ordered the Crafty Crab deluxe with Cajun seasoning. Perfectly plentiful with leftovers. Friendly staff and environment, clean and decorated, and amazing staff. Ask for Glenda, we will AGAIN!!

I pulled into the parking lot and this place has a unique setup. All the tables are outside similar to checkers. The place looks like it belongs in a dessert or South of the Boarder based on the color which is odd as well. They take your orders at the walk-up window. When I originally arrived, I didn't see much business but while I waited for my food the cars were pouring in left and right. My hopes for the food increased. There is a menu on the outside that is somewhat difficult to read and navigate. A ton of options with some whopping prices. I ended up ordering the 1 Snack and Fries. I wanted something good but also light as I had another place in Richmond I wanted to try. $14.99 seemed good until I saw this bogus, Local meals tax on top of the state sales tax. This caught me off guard. I ended up waiting in my car for about 20 minutes and later heard my name called over the microphone. The gentleman showed me the food, and it was 3 large pieces of fish. The fish was delicious. The fish was Cooked well, and I could taste the flavor. Way more than I expected. Tartar sauce elevated the flavor. The fires were piping hot and good as well. I wish I had some ketchup, but they were still good. I loved that they were salted but if I had high blood pressure I should have stayed away. You can see the salt on the fries. They were good to me. Overall if I were in Richmond again, I'd definitely stop. The food was good. I would definitely try more options. The customer service was good. The cashier and food distributor were on their A game. Outside could use some love and care but it is what it is.

I ordered food and what I asked for was not even in my order. So I called to let them know. He told me when I come back I could get another plate or something else and I wouldn't have to pay, especially since I live far. When I got there, his whole attitude switched. He got aggressive and said, "why would I tell you that? nothing is free." I didn't even get to eat my food. Now let's talk about the atmosphere. Ever since they started playing loud music in there, it's just not the same. It's NOT kid-friendly at all. It's supposed to be a restaurant, but the mixed vibe is off. It turns into something else at night and honestly, it doesn't feel safe. If you go later when it's crowded, just know what you're walking into. Don't look at nobody wrong, don't drink too heavy, don't bump into anyone--because it can turn into a fight real quick. The ONLY positive thing I will say is Sandra the bartender--A+. If you do go, go to her. She's really good at what she does. But overall, the service, the attitude, and the environment is not it for me.

BRING YOUR WALLETS AND STRETCHY PANTS!…read more We went as a corporate outing group of 5. The front door is a little tight cause as a popular spot there's a bunch of foot traffic. The lady at the front door was a bit staticky but she got us sat fairly quickly so we could deal with that. Vibes are all wooden, but not creaky. Could be a cool date spot, it was very casual so we were able to be a bit boisterous. Good place to chat and blend in. Service was great and friendly and attentive. The waitress we had always made sure our cups were full and we had napkins and what we needed. We didn't get any alcohol, I got an Arnold Palmer, the wife got a midtown. They were both pretty good, I don't know what the difference was but they slapped. Free refills on sweet tea was dope too! The food came out pretty fast for the portions and quality. The wings are a must get, get the large and if you don't finish air fry them back home (reheat is good) (I would get sauce on the side, we did buffalo). We got like a desert style cornbread with syrup and powdered sugar, not normally my jams but totally delicious (my coworker ordered, I am not into sweets; still 10/10). I had 2 buffalo shrimp and they were also good, I didn't get a flick but that's a safe pick. The mains are pricey (typical soul food prices) but fire!!! Portions were good but the quality of goods and meat are awesome. I eat at a lot of places, the quality was really high here so I think the price tag was fair. My wife got the catfish, I got the stuffed salmon. For our sides we got the greens, cabbage, and the Mac & cheese. I had a couple of things I personally like that I feel would have enhanced the meal but the overall outlook is that this is the place to go. The greens were salty as heck and didn't have like a turkey neck or smoked anything in it, could be a regional preference but that was missing for me. The cabbage was also cooked really well and didn't require much but had no sparkle. Great texture but the flavor wasn't there, I'm also Caribbean so maybe what I like is different, the crunch with a kick would have gone far and maybe some salt from the greens in there. The Mac and cheese was good, I like a creamier one but this will suffice tbh. Overall I'm going to give them a 8.9/10. I could have gotten the wrong things or went on an off day but they certainly delivered and the service was GREAT. I would deff revisit, it's got a lot of charm and personality. The staff were amicable and the bathrooms were clean. I would recommend this spot if you're visiting Richmond!

Our server, LENA was very helpful and friendly. She made sure we knew what was what. She was Awesome. Okay now this FOOD! So much food and everything hot and fresh. You'll be tempted to order an appetizer. I observed the portions and decided I couldn't eat all that... in a week. Definitely getting the fried oysters next time though. The "Fish Boat" comes with 2, 3 or 4 pieces of whiting. It's fried and the onion and pepper "sauce" is a mustardy, vinegar concoction that compliments the fish perfectly. You have your choice of two sides. Typical southern specialties. Collard greens (no pork added) were delicious, with a little kick; Candied Yams and a BRICK OF CORNBREAD. Light, soft sweet cornbread... my goodness. I don't think I can do this food the proper justice it deserves in this review. The chicken strips; the Alfredo were just as good. Even their version of an Arnold Palmer, (The Uptown) was done right. It's worth the drive and definitely worth the calories. If you love southern food, seafood with an ample serving of back in the day hospitality, (it's on the PLATE) stop by and come hungry. My family said it tasted like Thanksgiving. Family cooking seasoned with love. That's exactly right. Oh! GET THE CAKE... for later

In my opinion the shrimp isn't that great (taste farmed raised), but I am very picky about shrimp. The wait time is generally pretty good, but during holidays and nice weather be prepared for a lengthy wait. If it is busy I suggest parking at the goodwill to avoid getting stuck in their small parking lot. You have to ask for cups for sauces on the side and they will charge extra for just about everything else (like bread, lemon etc). They can get a heavy handed with seasoning so I always request very light to light depending on who is taking my order. The establishment is very clean, organized, and well maintained.
