Spicy boil bag with 1 lb. Crawfish, 1 lb. Shrimp, 1 lb. Dungeness Crab Legs. Plus fries

Oh my goodness, this place is such a hidden gem! One of the best seafood boils I've ever had. Highlights from last night: - delicious, fresh seafood; well seasoned (ordered spicy) - very reasonable prices - mouth watering selection of sides with Korean twist - sauce fridge in the back added a new level of deliciousness - self serve water and drinks - friendly and prompt service - ample paper towels and seasonings on the table Highly, highly recommend. Can't wait to visit my family in town and come back to try more things!

The set up is nice. It's part convenience store with slot machines and then the restaurant on the other side. As far as the boil it was ok. I wouldn't rave about it. The wings in the Korean chili tho, delicious. Get the wings

Food was absolutely delicious! Fantastic seasoning, fresh and was delivered in a plastic bag. Now we are talking a GOOD seafood boil.

I really enjoyed this spot. It has a nice casual vibe and great R&B music and is really clean. They also have a variety of menu items like sushi and wings and bubble tea. The first drink my companion ordered, they said they couldn't make because they were out of tonic water. To me, that's an easy sub so I encouraged her to ask them to still make it, sans the tonic and they did :) I ordered the #3 bucket which includes a pound of shrimp and a pound of snow crab. All the buckets come with corn, potato and sausages included in the price. They give you gloves and bib and crackers and the whole 9. The food was really good and not over cooked. The sauce had a really good spicy garlicky flavor, but I will note that the shrimp were not deveined and the side of butter tasted really...artificial? They also are kiiiiind of skimp on the boil sides. Plenty of shrimp, but literally like 2 baby pieces of sausage and 2 small chunks of potato. On the way out, we wanted to order bubble tea but they were out of boba so we didn't get it. I'd definitely return though and can't wait to get another shrimp boil bag.

BEST SEAFOOD BOIL IN RVA. Just wanted to get that out there. Now, I've been going to sauce & toss since 2020, and they never disappoint. Lately it has been renovated to have a convenience store in half of it and the other half has seats for dinning. This is interesting but I guess it works for them. The overall vibe is casual, the decor and the overall "sea" theme is really cute. The service is always great and they are very attentive and kind. My bf and I always get bucket #4 and we got it spicy. I have noticed that the portions have gotten a lot smaller over the years. It's incredibly delicious. Then we get the Korean sweet chili wings which is also a FAVORITE of mine on the menu and the fries. I would rate this 20/10. It's so good! It's a little pricey I do have to say, our total was $120 before tip.

Soft shell crab and Onion Rings look the same.

I found the person who made my food to be pleasant. Sadly, if I could give this restaurant a one-star rating, I would. I was craving soft shell crab and onion rings, but it was an epic failure. My order consisted of soft shell crab and onion rings, which was a big mistake. The crab and onion rings had a thick batter, making them unrecognizable and unappetizing. The food was so unsatisfactory that I spent $23.38 on it and it wasn't worth it. I can say that the Fanta orange soda at the fountain was refreshing.

This was our first time here. When we went in the lady behind the register gave us cups. She didn't tell us the cups were $3.98 each. Apparently it didn't matter if we got water. We ordered #4 which was I think $46 and we for hush puppies $2. Then we get almost a $3 charge because we didn't pay with cash. No one explained all of that. $60 before the tip. $120 for two people. the point is no one told us about the credit card surcharge. Service was good. They were attentive. We asked for medium spice. It was HOT! Good portion of food but a little light on the sausage. Would I go back, no. I don't like not being told what I'm being charged for.

Does anyone know what number works? I've called on 2 separate occasions, and once it would only go straight to voicemail, the other it sounded like I was calling a fax machine. The restaurant was open both times.

Pretty sure they are too busy to answer the phone.... Good Luck!

Is there a kids menu? If so, does anyone know what is on it? Thank you!

    No kids menu

Has anyone ordered the big bag? How is the portions?

Haven't specifically ordered the big bag, but even if it's just multiple portions of the smaller bags, it's worth it. I've ordered almost every other bag on their menu. NEVER disappointed.

    Do they deliver?

    Not sure

The bar was getting full, but there were still a few tables left to choose from. This is a dive, similar to Poe's Pub, so if that's not your scene, don't come here. That said, we really like the character of this place, even if it smells a little funky upstairs. It adds to the character and charm, or at least, that's what we tell ourselves. The same bartender as usual (still don't know his name) helped us. They do have a sour beer. It's not as fruity as I like, though, still passable. (Seriously, Patrick Henry's, y'all need to order some from Texas and Oklahoma sours for the real deal; Martin House Brewing Co. in Ft Worth does them so right). Anyway, we ordered the goat cheese bread appetizer (warm apple butter, goat cheese, and sunflower seeds = immense pleasure). For entrees, I grabbed the Hot Chicken Pizza (hot sauce and pickles!), and my partner went for the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. There was so much food that we had leftovers, as usual. They heated up well in the air fryer and were nearly as good. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. I will admit, it does look slightly seedy, but the food here is magnificent. The pizza was thin, crispy, and full of delicious flavor. I swear, the chefs here know what they are doing with their menu. It's simple, yet elegant. The appetizers are simple, yet they easily compete with The Brooklyn and Pinky's apps, for example, which are more affordable and in a more relaxed environment. Do yourself a favor and get the goat cheese. It sings. The customers here are chill and interesting, and the bartender is calm and cool; he never seems out of sorts, even when the bar is full with a line out the door. I wholeheartedly recommend Patrick Henry's. We have been here twice now, and the service and food have been excellent both times (Sept 2025, May 2026).

A must stop in the downtown Richmond area!…read more It's truly a speakeasy with the door posing as a bookshelf. To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

It was cooked perfectly. I had the shrimp andouille. It was delicious. We were greeted cheerfully at the door. The wait staff was very good. The restaurant had moderate noise since there was a large party celebrating a birthday. But I was impressed that there were obvious regulars at the bar. The biggest impression they made was calling me after I left a personal item on the seat next to me. While it wasn't something of large value, the fact that they found my number from the reservation and called meant so much to me. Highly recommend

The service was a little too leisurely for my temperament, and the tab did arrive at the table on one piece of paper when we had clearly requested that there be a separate tab for each couple, but those would be my only complaints. We all had cocktails, one from their specialty list and three that were standard issue. All were delicious and had an appropriate alcohol content for cocktails. The restaurant week menu provided a good variety of choices. Everything we had was really delicious. Portions were generous, so I could not eat more than about half of each course and not get overly full, but I assume they are sized for all but the hungriest diner. The venue's sound level was pretty high. I could have left my hearing aids at home so I wouldn't hear as much of the background noise. Noisy restaurants are pretty standard, I guess. We will definitely be returning to Alewife. It will probably take the place of Grisette in the rotation, which has been dropped because of institution of a fee for reservations canceled less than 24 hours in advance. (I don't think it should be treated as a privilege to dine somewhere when you have so many equivalent choices, but I guess they want to decrease the number of people who try to make them their dining choice. Objective accomplished.) The Hemingway quote at the bottom of the tab was a little weird. Not a Hemingway fan, but I guess it was an interesting thing to do. If you have read other reviews of mine, you may be aware that basically non-alcoholic cocktails that should have alcohol in them are reason enough for me to never return to a restaurant.

Street parking only but wasn't hard to find. We came in being one of the first parties in. Our server explained the menu in full and all the specials in full. To drink we had the Bebot and the Monkey Business to start, both were really good. The thing we knew we needed to have to eat was the Siren's Song special which was a lazy Susan full of different dishes. The Siren's Song consisted of oysters, fried clam strips, smoked fish dip, seared tuna, pineapple fried rice, and a fried fish collar (sorry don't remember the fish, maybe Skate) with a Szechuan dry rub on it. This seriously was an amazing display. Every single dish just took it up a notch. They were also super nice to accommodate making it pescatarian because the Siren's Song usually has meat elements. The fried collar really blew me away. So meaty, fried perfectly, and the dry rub was so flavorful but not too salty or hot. Despite finishing the whole Siren's Song, we also got the Cascatelli without guanciale which was also delicious. We finished off with their caramel custard which wasn't too sweet and had a great mix of textures and flavors. Also tried one of their NA drinks and a glass of their special chilled Grenache Noir which was surprisingly good (not a big red wine fan). Overall, we absolutely loved it here. Each dish was amazing, drinks were also good, service was on point, and it was just a beautiful dinner. We will definitely be coming back.
