Exceptional Service -- Tony and the Mechanic Went Above and Beyond! This was my first experience with Capitol Ford, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better one. I came in for what I expected to be a quick oil change on my 6G Bronco. The service advisor, Tony, recommended that they also perform a recall inspection involving a potential engine wiring harness defect. I'm extremely glad he did -- because when they inspected it, they discovered that the wiring was actually open and exposed. Tony and the mechanic personally brought me into the shop, showed me the damage, and took the time to explain in detail why the recall needed to be addressed immediately. It was clear that this wasn't something they were taking lightly, and I genuinely appreciated their transparency. I'll also admit that I wasn't exactly the easiest customer that day. I live several cities away, already had plans for the weekend, and was frustrated about the unexpected repair. I definitely gave them some attitude. Tony and the mechanic remained calm, patient, and completely professional throughout the entire situation. They never became defensive, never treated me poorly, and continued focusing on getting my Bronco taken care of. What impressed me even more was that my Bronco was already experiencing some electrical issues. Rather than simply telling me I would have to come back another day, they immediately put the vehicle back on the jacks and completed the recall repair. They went well beyond what I expected. I arrived earlier than my scheduled appointment, and they took me in early. They identified a potentially serious issue that could have caused major problems down the road, clearly explained what was happening, and got it repaired right away -- all while handling my frustration with an incredible level of professionalism. My wife had been wanting to sell the Bronco, but honestly, this experience changed my perspective. It made me feel like Ford actually stands behind its products and, more importantly, takes care of its customers when something goes wrong. Tony and the mechanic could have simply done the oil change and sent me on my way. Instead, they took the extra time to look out for me, educate me about the problem, and make sure my vehicle was safe. These two employees significantly exceeded my expectations and represented Capitol Ford and the Ford brand extremely well. I've dealt with plenty of service departments over the years, and this was hands down the BEST service experience I've ever had. Tony -- thank you for taking care of me, especially when I wasn't making it easy. And thank you to the mechanic for taking the time to personally show me the issue and get it repaired. You both earned my respect and my business. If you're taking your Ford to Capitol Ford, ask for Tony. Based on my experience, you're in good hands. read more

Be careful as this sales store uses deceptive pricing practices! Thieves When buying items in person. This exact gasket was priced at $64 in the store. However, when I showed the item to the employee at the desk on Saturday at 1:50 PM, he mentioned that I could order it online and pick it up on Monday for less. It would have been a $88 difference. Pay $140 or order online and pick up for $53.43. read more

Bad experience at this dealership. I'm a very black and white, no BS type of person. Transparency is key especially in having all the information to make a decision like purchasing a new car. What I got was the exact opposite. DO NOT LIE TO A CUSTOMER. DO NOT ask your finance guy to come over and lie to a customer. If you don't know the answers or you're not sure, get someone who is. Don't waste my time. Curtis, you act like a 12-year little girl. You were beyond annoying, catty and acting as though you and your time is so important. News flash buddy, I'm the customer. I'm one one making the purchase. MY time is what matters here, not yours. You are there and paid to do a job. So do it or pass me along to someone else who can. Don't like me, too bad. Had I of decided to come back to finish purchasing here, it would have been with a different sales person but since I didn't feel like my business was wanted or appreciated, I actually went ahead a took my business elsewhere and thank GOD I did because It was a great expereince, NO BS, and I love my new vehicle. read more

I'm always honest and tell it how it is. I wait a few months to see how things go post purchase, to gauge the total experience. Shopped around regionally for a new F150 to replace my Lemoned 2023 Ram 2500. To say I wasn't thrilled to be shopping again is an understatement. I knew the price I wanted to be at, as well as how low other dealers were going on similarly optioned models. Contacted the dealer and started to negotiate via text with Dale (great communication) to see if this dealer would be worth my time. I ended up driving an hour to the dealer a few days earlier than planned and started the process with Edgar (very nice, professional, and a good sense of humor). I recommend everyone start their process with him. MVP! The only part that rubbed me wrong (hence 4 star) was the demeanor and a few things said by another employee while negotiating. That was reflected in my after purchase survey and rectified by their stud of a Sales VP Scott! (I still owe you that tequila). 4 months and 10k miles later I'm mostly satisfied with my purchase. I had 1 "break down" around 3k miles due to software issues (no fault of the dealer) that resulted in a tow and 5 days out of service. Normally I'd understand new cars having quirks, but after my 2023 Cummins needed a new motor at 6,000 miles it definitely struck a nerve. That said, Dale, Edgar, and especially Scott are class acts. When the time comes for another vehicle for myself or co-workers, CapitolFord or another DGDG dealer will be our first stop. read more

Great experience all around! My husband and I came to this Ford dealership after visiting two others beforehand. We were on the hunt for a specific truck -- a hybrid Ford Maverick -- but the previous dealerships didn't have it and kept trying to push other models. As soon as we arrived here, we were greeted and helped by Dale, who was extremely knowledgeable and clearly knew what he was talking about. We mentioned we were just looking and planned to come back later once we decided, but that didn't change his level of customer service. He still gave us the opportunity to test drive, view different color options in person, and never once made us feel pressured. By the end of our visit, we were so impressed with his professionalism that we decided to make the purchase that same day. The whole process was smooth and easy -- the staff was friendly, personable, and even offered drinks while we waited. We highly recommend this dealership for your next Ford purchase. Thank you, Dale, for making our experience so enjoyable! read more

My recent experience with Capitol Ford began last week when we test drove a used Ford, the car was not ready to be driven as it has been in past experiences with test driving a vehicle. This a pink flag, not quite red yet. Then when we went inside to consider our options, Angelo was going to run my credit with asking and we only knew when my husband asked what he was doing, so my husband immediately said no. Then I found a a car I wanted to purchase and was in touch with Angelo again to come in on Sunday after he told me to come see the car. When we arrived, a completely different salesmen had to tell Angelo that the car was not even on the lot, but that it had been given out as a loaner and had been gone for 4 days, Angelo had no clue. This was extremely disappointing and after reading other reviews, it seems this has been the same experience for many people, it's just BAD BUSINESS. In the mean time sales managers from the dealership had been keeping me updated by texting me, first asking how they can get my business on the Ford Explorer I looked at( didn't look at an Explorer), then corrected to the car I was going to see, then later that day I get another text saying "Hi Peggy....were gonna get the car back tonight" (my name is not Peggy). I let them know they weren't speaking to Peggy, they had a long day. These things may seem insignificant to some but I've been a part of others car buying processes and these are not professional interactions and are somewhat off putting. But I still wanted to buy this used vehicle so I put it out of my mind, hoping for better. Hopes be damned. They got the car back in a day later, washed it and I arranged to come see it . I went fully prepared to buy the car based on the "out the door" price I discussed with Angelo and including a slightly lowered price which he "talked with his boss" about. When we sat down to sign papers we were presented with a completely different price, that they weren't willing to move on even with us showing the the prices that Angelo said he talked with his boss about. When the manager came over he put a paper in front of us in a very matter of fact way that showed other fees (ok, fine) and a fee NOT listed on their website or ever mentioned face to face, a "Dealer Installed equipment Fee" for $795. They couldn't even tell us what they fee was or what they installed on the USED car I was going to buy. It's a vague fee that they said is on every car. It was clear they were not going to work with us even though the price miscommunication was on their end and was due to unprofessional practices and lack of transparency. The photo attached is from their DGDG site that lists other fees that aren't added, no where does it say a possible Dealer Installed equipment fee of almost $800 (not chump change). All in all, I do not plan to do business with Capitol Ford and suggest you don't waste your time either.. read more

I've now taken my car to Ford Capitol Service Center twice, and unfortunately had the same experience both times. While the staff is friendly in person, this service center appears to struggle with scheduling, capacity, and clear communication. Unless you actively and repeatedly follow up, your car does not seem to be prioritized, and updates are rarely provided without prompting. Most recently, I brought my car in for a Ford recall software update. What was scheduled as a same-day appointment turned into multiple days with minimal information, shifting explanations, and long stretches with no proactive updates at all. I experienced issues only after the car was in their possession, yet communication remained vague and reactive. If you value timely service and consistent updates, I'd strongly recommend considering a different Ford service center. read more

After driving over two hours to pick up my new to me truck and going over pricing with my sales person, Capitol Ford pre-installed VIN etching on the vehicle and then presented it as a mandatory charge during pricing, even though it was not clearly advertised upfront. The finance manager specifically stated the etching was already installed on the car and could not be removed. However, after getting home and inspecting the vehicle, there was no VIN etching sticker or indication that the product had actually been installed. Under FTC CARS Rule transparency requirements, mandatory add-ons should be included in the advertised price -- not added later at the dealership. This felt misleading and deceptive. The only reason I kept the car is because I know I won't find another one like it and it was not my sales persons fault, she was great. I will be submitting complaints to the DMV and FTC regarding these practices read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I went in ready to purchase a Ford Expedition King Ranch (nearly $95k with taxes/fees). I expected basic respect when spending that kind of money, but Ryan (who called himself the sales manager) was beyond rude--worst attitude I've ever seen from a salesman. Customer service was awful. After leaving, I did more research and found the same car much cheaper elsewhere. This dealership is adding unnecessary costs on top of their cars. Save yourself the headache--go somewhere else. Bought a brand new car and after signing all the paperwork they suddenly discovered they "lost" the key. They offered to mail it to us when they found it, but over a month later and that hasn't happened. So we're stuck with just one key for a car that should have come with two. They offered to make a new key for us, but only if we came by on a specific weekday in a one hour window. The one day we made time to do that, they didn't have the right guy around to make a new key and have since been largely unresponsive to the issue. read more

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I feel this experience is important for other customers to be aware of. This occurred in January 2026. I brought my 2018 Mustang to Capitol Ford specifically for ABS / AdvanceTrac warning lights and paid a $325 diagnostic fee. After the inspection, I was told that the issue appeared to be related to voltage (battery and battery cable), and that if repairing those items didn't resolve the problem, I would need to bring the car back for further diagnosis. I was also given a list of recommended repairs totaling over $2,500. Wanting to verify the diagnosis before moving forward, I had a free ABS scan performed elsewhere. That scan identified a left rear wheel speed sensor. I had the wheel speed sensor replaced, and the problem was fully resolved. The ABS and AdvanceTrac alerts turned off and have not returned. This confirmed that the wheel speed sensor was the cause of the warning lights I brought the vehicle in for, which was not identified or communicated to me during the paid diagnostic. While I understand that voltage issues can sometimes affect module readings, the root cause ended up being a specific wheel speed sensor failure that was immediately identified with a basic scan tool. I want to be fair and say that my service advisor was very helpful. My concern is with the diagnostic process and the fact that I paid for a diagnosis that did not identify the primary fault. I also reached out to management afterward but did not receive a response. I wanted to give the dealership the opportunity to review this privately before leaving a public review. My expectation from a dealership-level diagnostic is that the primary fault causing the warning lights would be identified and clearly communicated, especially when it is later found quickly through a basic scan and confirmed by repair. I hope this feedback leads to better diagnostic transparency for future customers. read more

Bought a used ford explorer thinking buying a used vehicle from the dealership would run across any issues, not even a week into buying the vehicle check engine light comes on so I brought it back to dealer because not only did I want the maintenance package but also requested extended warranty. Come to find out the extended warranty wasn't added to my vehicle and even though I had only had it for a week and I already had check engine light on I was to come out of pocket for whatever issue maybe, took it to my own mechanic and he told me nothing was done to vehicle and had to pay $700 n repairs plus another $200 to have it towed from the place it left me because car was overheating. All this recall issues on the vehicle keep coming up and I'm told when I set up appointment that I would have car back in a couple hours, came to my appointment at 9am and it's 1:09pm and I'm still here waiting as others have come and gone. Worst experience with a ford vehicle and the first opportunity I have to get rid of this vehicle I'm getting another Chevy or Honda but never again will I trust a ford vehicle or set foot into a ford dealership I can say that this has been my worst experience and I will never again go with a ford. read more

Another bad experience with Ford. Took my truck in 4 times and the transmission problem is still not fixed. I asked the dealership to cover my rental difference given this is the 4th time I'm bringing it in (Ford extended warranty only covers $30/day). They've refused and said they have to first diagnose the problem. 4th time and they still do it right. Chris at Mazda was amazing! He restored my faith in dealerships. He was patient and worked hard for us.

Absolutely not they tried to do me dirty today ! I took my car to Chevy down the street to have a sensor fitted. While there Chevy also did some diagnostics work and gave me a quote. I then had to go to Ford for a recall issue to be sorted. While at ford they also ran a diagnostic which came back completely different from Chevy's . Chevy's report had told me that two of my tyres needed replacing and brake pads. Ford's report was completely different it said everything was great no work needed and everything had been given a green mark. I questioned the ford employee and he said Chevy were wrong Obviously I was super pissed and I went back to Chevy to ask they why the two reports were polar opposite! Chevy then proceeded to show me each result manually and Chevy were completely right ! The employee at Ford was happy enough to send me off in what could have been a potential dangerous car ! read more

I do not recommend Capitol Ford for servicing your vehicle. They do not thoroughly investigate errors that other service centers diagnose. Having been dealing with months and months of the same alerts and issues, all documented with the Ford app, they were not able to diagnose the error properly, leaving me with an approximately $7K bill. This dealer and service center does not care about their customers and only care about the dollar. read more

What an awful experience. All sales staff we encountered were untruthful and hostile. I went to check out a used car from their lot with a friend, about a week ago. The car had several sizeable dents and scratches that were completely unmentioned. They did not budge on the price one cent after explicitly assuring we could negotiate "in the hundreds, not thousands" just beforehand. We were offered 9.7% APR in the salesroom. This was promptly changed to about 15% once they handed over the final paperwork, with a sorry excuse about mistaken rental records. They stood by this bait and switch until we showed photos taken of the original offer sheet. When I urged my friend to think over the purchase, the salesman became visibly angry and tried to talk over me. He threatened to not offer the same APR / sales price the next day, which was quickly corrected by the financier. (Who was aggressively blocking the exit.) At this point, we gave up on trying to discuss and promptly left. This entire team should be ashamed of themselves. What an unwelcoming and manipulative buying experience. read more

The sales person that helped me out was super friendly and I test drove one that I liked but didn't love. All the one star reviews of Capitol Ford's Service operation are well-deserved. All the high rated reviews are about buying a car from Capitol and my experience there was good, but once they have you their followup service is deplorable, and they apparently don't care. They overcharge (labor rates are criminal), they recommend fixing things that don't need fixing, they don't keep you informed of your vehicle's progress unless prodded, there is no quality control in the parts department... I brought my vehicle to Capital Ford because the transmission -- which this dealership had already replaced twice -- was leaking again after just 9 months. I drove two hours to this location as I was told they had six technicians who specialize in hybrid transmissions and that they would be able to get to it faster than other locations, quoting me a two-day diagnostic turnaround. However, once I arrived, I was told otherwise-- that they might have my car for up to a month and wouldn't even be able to diagnose it for at least a week and that the repair might not be covered. I expected this to be a straightforward process since the repair should be covered under Ford's 12-month/12,000-mile warranty, but instead I was met with conflicting and inaccurate information. *****Disclosure: I would be lying if I stated I was calm, cool, and collected during this entire interaction. All patience and understanding went out the door when I was told multiple different answers to the same questions on the same day within the same hour. .******** After checking in, I asked to speak with the service manager to get clarity. Service manager stated the repair I came in for would not be covered because it was supposedly paid out of pocket by the previous owners. Moments later, he changed his story and admitted Ford had paid for the repair -- but still refused to confirm warranty coverage. I ended up calling Ford Customer Relations back from the waiting area, and again they confirmed the transmission should be covered. ****For the record, there is no relationship between warranty coverage and the owner of the vehicle -- the warranty applies to the part/repair itself.***** All I wanted was a straight answer: is the transmission itself covered? Instead, the service manager went in circles, saying he wouldn't know until a $299.99 diagnostic was performed, and made it sound like I'd be responsible if they determined it was "something else." Not only is this misleading, it also showed a lack of understanding of Ford's own warranty policies. To make matters worse, the service manager dismissed my concerns by saying my 2014 vehicle was "old" and that a car this old doesn't have or come with a warranty. That excuse doesn't hold up when the transmission itself is less than a year old. Warranties cover the repair and part regardless of the vehicle's age. He even went so far as to gaslight me by suggesting that "something could have happened" between December 2024 and now -- within only 10,000 miles -- to cause the issue. That's just ridiculous. If a transmission has to be replaced twice at the same dealership and is already leaking again, that points to questionable workmanship, not the age of the car or the driver. At the end of our conversation, the service manager even said that "Ford Customer Relations will say anything to get the customer off the phone." Even if that were true, it is completely unprofessional and immature to dismiss the company's own corporate support team just because I questioned the validity of what he was telling me. I ended up leaving and going to another Ford dealership closer to home, where the staff were professional, respectful, and immediately followed the correct process. I'm sure this dealership will respond and try to disagree with my review, but the facts speak for themselves: a transmission replaced twice, with the most recent one failing after only 9 months, should be enough to make anyone think twice. Everyone beware. read more
