**CUSTOMER BEWARE** I purchased a 2019 Kia Niro EV from Capitol Chevrolet 3 months ago, Paul the salesman helped me, going through all the documents/inspection report, it stated no issues with the vehicle, basically a perfect vehicle. After driving it for a day, I notice a weird clicking noise when accelerating and a crunch noise going over bumps and when driving 70 mph, the steering wheel shakes violently, I called Paul to explain the situation, he said bring it back and we'll let the service team figure it out. The same day, I bring the car at 8am, I finished work around 5pm and went to the dealership to see what went on (I need the car due to living an hour and a half away). Henry, the service advisor states the tires are the issue and they can't do anything about it, so I speak to the service manager (Trent) stating the issue is normal, he also had a Toyota that would vibrate going over 60 mph and that was totally fine. Fast forward 3 days, I make an appointment with Capital Kia, they state, the vehicle needs new tires, and they couldn't figure out what was the issue with the clicking noise, so they need more time, at this point they give me a loaner car to use since I live far away. All this while driving a gasoline vehicle, I also spoke to the manager at Capitol Chevrolet (Steve) and he told me to hang on to the fuel receipts to get reimbursed (since I purchased an electric vehicle, but loaner was a gasoline). AFTER 30 DAYS (WITH EVERY OTHER DAY OF ME CALLING FOR AN UPDATE), Kia says the clicking noise is from the gear reduction unit and they need to replace it, but due to me purchasing the vehicle within 30 days, the warranty cannot kick in, so they need approval from Capitol Chevrolet. After about a total of 34 days, I receive a text to pickup the vehicle, the next morning I drive the car and the clicking noise is gone, but now I have an alignment issue and the crunch noise is still there along with the steering wheel vibration. (BTW, I argued with Steve the manager about how he lied saying I would get reimbursed, but totally denied the fact) I make another appointment with Kia for them to solve this issue, they keep the car for about 2 weeks, while driving another gasoline loaner, then after Kia confirms the tires need to be replaced due to cupping and warranty will not cover it, I speak to Kia and end up speaking to (Oniel) the General Manager, which spoke to me in a very rude tone, stating they will not cover the tires and they will not cover the fuel expense. After posting a negative review on Google, I get a call back from the Chevrolet GM, saying they will cover my tires, but not the fuel costs. Fast forward as of today (10/05/2023), my vehicle is still not fixed with the crunching noise over bumps and they had to do the alignment 3 times for them to end up figuring out a camber kit needed to be replaced. Such horrible service. I do NOT recommend this dealership at all to anyone. I thought this was supposed to be DGDG Be Happy. I have already hired a lawyer for this case and I hope for other people to learn from my mistake and all the other negative reviews from other buyers. read more

This is my first Yelp review, but since I found Capitol Kia here, it seems like a good idea to pay it forward to would-be buyers. I purchased my first new car ever yesterday, a base model Kia Optima LX with all the options. My better half had put the skids on buying any new car, but I knew exactly what I wanted. Keep this in mind--I was a first-time buyer practically drooling over the Optima. Before yesterday, I didn't even own a car. So there we were, ready to hoof it to Fremont Bart and take the bus to the dealer. Two-hour trip, but if you're gonna drop $20k+ on a car, what's two hours? The night before we took off, I had a relaxed, frank discussion with Elizabeth Czahar about my experiences with less savory dealers. She listened attentively to what I wanted, ran my numbers at my request, and told me what they would offer. Due to a reliable service I used to scout the deal, I'm 100% sure that the price was good. (Even *after* taking ownership, I'm still thrilled with my price.) More on this charismatic and utterly competent young lady in a moment. My partner was not excited about the trip, but when he heard about my interactions with Elizabeth, and when I informed him that she had offered us a ride from Fremont to San Jose, he cocked an eyebrow. What ensued was a leisurely, personal, and completely unrushed day of getting comfortable at their new facility. After interacting with Elizabeth, my partner came around. And he is a fussy, east-coast "you can't sell me anything" type ready to cuss anyone out for a sideways glance. What the experience *wasn't* was smarmy, inefficient, or condescending. Elizabeth clearly values integrity in sales. Like I told her: I'd love to buy a car, and I don't have a problem with you making a profit. But I don't want to *feel* like a means to an end. Go on, do what I did and Google "bay area Kia dealerships." I won't name names, but search for everything you find on Yelp. It'll take two minutes, but it'll save you the night I spent at a rival dealer getting the run-around. Note the absence of dealers with ratings greater than 3 stars, then come back here and look at the ratings for Capitol Kia. Depending on how tinfoil-hat-inclined you are, you will believe one of two things: a) that the dealer has a well organized horde of paid-for social media goons, or b) that they're doing something right. Hint: it's the latter. If you're into the prospect of a mid-20s car that has the features of one 10k more, and a warranty that kicks ass, go to Capitol Kia. Ask for Elizabeth. Test drive the Optima. No douchiness, no sleight of hand, just honest interaction about cars. I will update this space with further information about service I get on the vehicle--I trust that the dealer will follow through, and reserve the right to be a fussy Yelper if they don't. But you know what? If their service department is as good as their sales, there shouldn't be a problem. read more

Capitol Kia restored my faith in dealerships. Micah has always been the one helping me from the beginning with my Kia Spectra EX 2008. I have been ordering parts from him so I can fix my Kia for about two years now. Sadly, I finally gave up and came in to let Capitol Kia get my Spectra up to par before I go to Oregon with it. Last week I went in and I was told, nothing needed to be done with my car, of course not. But I had a list anyways, of course the shop was shocked I wanted to get about a 1,000 bucks worth of work done still. Within five days I got a call saying all my parts were in and they were ready to work on my car. Now it is August 31st, I never knew they had people drive you back home if you are close or not too far, for a dealership to do that I was shocked. Not only was I taken home, the driver was amazing, made me feel like my mother was driving me. I felt safe and comfortable with the driver. I can't remember his name but Micah would know. Everyone at the dealership is nice, there is a new trainee name Michelle in the service department, do not be mean to her, she is new, and very young to the world, meaning she is slow so calm the f down when you come in. I have seen her smile less than me today, due to the rush of people, please remember your car takes time to fix, so if you don't have the time to be nice to those working on your car, I would just stay home that day if I was you. So Michelle needs someone make her laugh or I am going to make it my personal mission to come in and pop jobs while playing Pokemon Go HAHAHAHAHA please remember these people who are working, they need a good smile, dont be an asshole when you come in, I seen so many assholes that I am shocked that the WHOLE TEAM not just one can handle the stress of this field. NOTE THE AMAZING DRIVER'S NAME IS.....JUAN (I just got a text being told what his name was within a minute of asking Micah, now that is service) The whole team is amazing. Everyone down at Kia was amazing....BUT sadly, my car wasn't done on August 31st when it went in...Only because they found more shit missing with it. which I knew, and understood ahead of time that CARS TAKE TIME TO FIX. so Micah told the amazing driver to pick me up the next day. I completely messed up the directions to Micah but the driver knew better and met me right where I needed him even though I was a dumb ass. Today is Sept 1st and my car is fixed, blowing cold air again, and I am crying because I never been taken care of by a dealership and not been ripped off. I even asked Micah to speak with his boss. I wanted to cry to him and hug them all I was so happy but I didn't. Bet your ass I will be hugging them goodbye before I leave to Oregon. I just pray the next dealership is just as good. Or I guess I am coming back to California once in awhile for major repairs and upkeep. read more

DGDG does stand by their motto: Be Happy. And they will go the extra mile to make sure that you, the customer, are happy no matter what the case, even if it is a year after your purchase. We bought our SUV from DGDG Capitol Kia a year ago. We bought a vehicle with high miles, but had a really low interest rate, so between our down payment and low rate, our payments looked to be very manageable. Our only concern was the high mileage of the vehicle. The finance guy keyed in on this concern and convinced us to add a warrantee to allay our fears about possible repair costs and maintenance. We were told that this warranty would cover everything that could possibly go wrong with the vehicle, and that repair shops would welcome working on our vehicle because the warrantee company (United States Warranty Group) paid above the normal rates for repairs and maintenance. For the past year we have been paying more than we would like for our car loan because of the warrantee costs, but have accepted it as a worthwhile cost because it gave us peace of mind. Thankfully, for the past year we had no reason to use the "warrantee", but in anticipation of a long road trip, I decided to take into the dealer for service (on the suggestion of a USWG rep). I came to find out that our "warrantee" only paid for a fraction of the service. To make matters worse, it was 10,000 miles overdue for a timing belt replacement! Which, of course was not covered by the "warrantee". After explaining the situation to Vernon, the store manager, he informed me that they had a completely new team at Capitol Kia, and he apologized for our experience, assuring us that it was not in line with how DGDG conducts business. I can only assume that the guy who oversold us was cut because of situations like ours. Also, even though he had no knowledge of our sale or the finance and sales team we had dealt with, he agreed to take care of us and cover the full cost of a new timing belt. This included the extra recommended associated parts such as water pump and serpentine belt, and all labor associated with it. They also let us know that we could be refunded for the warrantee, and gave us the information to get a refund for the warrantee. Our buying experience was far from ideal, but it is good to know that there are companies like DGDG that go out of their way to take care of their customers. Even when it is a year later and they are paying for the mistakes of past employees. It is clear to me that DGDG stands by their brand, and will go to great lengths to keep their reputation. read more

I recently set about to purchase a new car. After much research and some stops at various dealerships in the area, I narrowed my search to Kia or Mitsubishi. After getting down to the last two options, I made some inquiries by Email to both Captol Kia and one of their competitors. I immediately received phone calls from both Dealerships, and this is where the differences began to appear. Elizabeth Czahar left me a message stating she was with Capitol Kia and that she just needed a bit more information so she couls try to accomodate my needs. After this discussion, I decided to stop by the dealership on my way home, just to drive the Kia Forte Koup. I arrived and walked the lot, never being bothered by a salesperson, although a gentleman approached me and made it clear that if I DID want assistance, they were ready to help. I explained I was there to see Elizabeth and he said he would get her for me. Elizabeth and I walked onto the back lot and looked at several cars as we walked to the Forte. I noticed a Grayish Sportage and was immediately drawn to it. She said that this was what she drove as well, and she proceeded to explain all the features and benefits of the car, while never really "Selling" me on it. I decided to test drive it, and when we returned to the Dealer, I was ready to buy... At this point, I began the dreaded "process" to finalize the deal and get my financing in place. I have purchased many cars over the years and I was not expecting anything less than a long drawn out ordeal... Well, to my delight, that was not what happened. I was out the door an hour later with keys in hand and a smile on my face. What a great experience!!! I had a long work week and on a Friday afternoon, I stopped by the Dealer, exhausted and ready for the weekend, and certainly not feeling like dealing with the "process" as I expected it to be. I really did not intend on making the decidion that day, but Elizabeth and the rest of the team at Capitol Kia made it so easy, I saw no reason to wait. I had been shopping for a little while for a gas efficient vehicle. KIAs peaked my interest because of its gas efficiency, price, warranty and overall car rating (comparable to that of Toyota and Honda, nowadays). I initially went to Serramonte Kia out of convenience because they were close by to where I live. I DO NOT recommend going to Serramonte Kia, because I went there looking to buy a Kia and they were trying to push a Nissan on me when that's not what I wanted. Furthermore, the salesperson at Serramonte Kia was not helpful at all, she just wanted to make a sale. The finance manager was very demeaning and did not want to help me. Fast forward to a GREAT experience. I shopped online and found Capitol Kia. Greg, the internet manager contacted me right away and set up an appointment for me to come in. I wanted to spend the least amount of time at the dealership so I filled out my loan application online and they had me approved in minutes. I made my way down to San Jose and met Susana, totally awesome. She was genuinely a nice person, someone who wasn't just trying to make a sale but was also looking out for my best interest. I had a trade which they paid off and gave me an overall great deal. I had my 2 year old son with me so to keep him content she even put on a couple kid shows and gave him a balloon to make my experience as easy as possible. The finance manager was great, he explained everything in full detail to ensure I understood and was comfortable with the sale. This is the 8th car I've owned in the last 10 years, so I've had my fair share of bad dealership experiences. This is the best dealership I've dealt with ever. I highly recommend visiting them. They have very professional staff, from sales, finance, and service. Can't say enough great things about them, I will definitely go back to Capitol Kia for my next vehicle. read more

I have been looking for a car for a few months. It felt such a drag every time I went to the dealership, there were either no cars or the customer service was not good. I never imagined or considered purchasing a KIA, I only went to (Capital) KIA because my friend took me. When I first met Jesus Miranda (product specialist), he greeted my friend and me with a smile and was cheerful. I felt comfortable, that I was able to ask all the questions I had; with that note let me add, that not only was Mr. Miranda patient, he never appeared annoyed with my questions. He was also very knowledgeable. Mr. Miranda left such a GREAT impression that he set the bar high for the other sales representatives. As I continued looking for a car and going to different dealerships I knew I wanted to go back to KIA and purchase a car from Mr. Miranda solely based on his customer service. Mr. Miranda made buying my first car a wonderful experience, from the moment I met him I never felt pressured, he was patient, I felt comfortable, and it also helped that he was funny. Last but not least, I would also like to acknowledge Denise Moreno (finance specialist). Let me first begin with, Mr. Moreno was SUPER patient when it came down to deciding on a payment plan (e.g., down payment, how many years to pay off the car, etc), as it took me a good 30 minutes to decide. He never rushed me and I never felt rushed that he made sure I was 100% satisfied with my payment plan. Mr. Moreno was also comforting, pleasant, funny, and knowledgeable. Overall, buying my first car from KIA was a GREAT experience. I am satisfied with my car, but what made this experience exceptional was the amazing customer service I received from Mr. Miranda and Mr. Moreno. read more

I recently purchased a Kia Soul from Capitol Kia and had a great experience. From the moment I met Doshi, the salesman who assisted me, I knew that I had come to the right place. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and he wasn't too overbearing. When I told him I needed some time on my own to wander around to look at the different car colors, he respected that and gave me plenty of time to mull things over. He then made sure to check in on me periodically to see if I had any questions or had come to a decision. There was only one vehicle on the lot that had the features I was interested in, and when I wasn't sure if it was the color I wanted, he offered to try to find what I was looking for at another Kia dealership in order to do an exchange. It didn't come to that, but it was nice that that was an option. Doshi even stayed extra late to square things away after I had finally made up my mind to buy the car. When I went to pick my car up, he even helped me pair my phone to the Uvo system. BTW, I love my Kia Soul Plus with the sun roof and upgraded audio system. Thanks, Doshi!!! If you're wondering, I do have a frame of reference for this car-buying experience. Capitol Kia was the second Kia dealership I visited. At the first Kia dealership, the salesman was really pushy and did not seem to be very knowledgeable about the car. He also asked me repeatedly how he could get my business THAT day. I was thinking to myself that I needed to check out dealership reviews to find a dealership that better suited my car-buying personality. Capitol Kia was exactly what I was looking for! I was interested in a clean air vehicle and where I live they closed the KIA and Hyundai dealership so we set off for the Auto Mall in San Jose. Boy, did we get lucky. We were immediately helped by a charming , young man named Kevin Gervais. He was very kind and informative. He said he was new to the job so some questions he had to defer to the others he worked with. We received very timely information and always with a smile. I put a reserve fee down for the next shipment of the Niro EV and chose a white car but I really wanted the blue color. The day the car was set to arrive I called Kevin and he said the shipment was delayed 2 weeks. I asked if there were any at the dealership and he said there was one blue one reserved for someone else. I asked if he could check on it and if the people were not interested any longer I could come down that day. He called back in 5 min and said come on down. We got to the dealership and went about processing and doing paperwork while Kevin got the car charged and detailed. Denis Moreno did an expert job on the contract details and Kevin even went to the deli and got me a sandwich. I have leased and purchased many cars but this experience was one of the best. It was smooth, quick, I got what I wanted and had very nice, helpful people taking care of all the details. Both Kevin and Denis had to stay late to explain things to me and it was much appreciated. My Experience with Capital Kia was great from start to finish and the process was over several months. I did a car search for Kia Sorrento back in June of 2012. That search produce a few Kia dealerships in the area and I was contacted by all of them. At the time, I was just looking and wasn't sure I wanted to purchase. Two of the three dealerships were somewhat pushy and try to get me to buy on the spot. The one that was not pushy was the bestof them all. Elizabeth at Capital Kia was very professional and definitely not pushy. I didn't buy in the summer and told Elizabeth I would be interested closer to the end of the year. In late October, I got a nice email from Elizabeth asking how I was doing and if I was still intersted. I was very pleased to see her email and impressed she took the time to keep my information and conact me. I still have yet to hear a word from the other two dealerships. Anyway, after a few weeks of back and forth emails, finally got in to take a test drive. Of course, I knew I liked the Sorrento but fell in love after the test drive with Elizabeth. She knew all the details to explain and was extremely patient. After a week, I had my car and a great experience. Elizabeth literally jumped through hoops and bent over backwards to get the color I wanted and the model I wanted at Capital Kia. The deal was completed with the assitance of her co-workers who all chipped in. The car is great and I hope if I ever have trouble with my car, their Service department is as good as their Sales people. read more

My girlfriend and I had extensively researched the ideal SUV for our needs, ultimately landing on the KIA Sportage. Our first stop was Capitol Kia, where Jordanny provided stellar assistance. He was polite, offered excellent customer service, and addressed all our questions. Crunching the numbers, we were pleased to receive a favorable interest rate based on my credit score, and the final price had no markups or additional fees. While it was a fantastic deal, we decided to take some time to mull it over. Curious about other options, we visited Stevens Creek Kia, only to experience a significant contrast in customer service and ambiance. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and the salesperson came across as pushy and lacked charisma. The substantial markup on the same Kia Sportage was disheartening, prompting us to promptly leave and return to Capitol Kia. Although Jordanny wasn't available that evening, Jesus Miranda stepped in to assist us. Like Jordanny, Jesus didn't embody the stereotypical aggressive, pushy, and deceptive salesman. Instead, he made us feel at ease and addressed any concerns we had. Jesus helped us finalize the deal, and we were genuinely pleased with the outcome. The finance representative (whose name escapes me but had blonde hair) also deserves commendation for efficiently completing the paperwork, even beyond regular operating hours. I was very satisfied with my experience at Capitol Kia. My sales rep Manny was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the questions i asked him. I have had negative experiences with other car salesmen in the past but i felt very safe with Manny. Then later on I was introduced to a senior sales rep called ZANDER , as manny was off the next day when I visited the dealership. I was so impressed with Zander, he knows what he is talking about and makes real sense, He made my day so easy that I never ever had to bother much about the usual B** S*** that happens at every car dealership [mind games]. I felt so secure, and I knew from the beginning that what ever deal I was going to make , its going to be a great deal for me as these guys had given me a great insight on which car to buy on. I had no intention of buying a car that day what so ever, but I was so impressed the way they had treated me, I had no second thoughts ...I took the car right away with out any second thoughts. And thanks too the finance manager Joon, I remember it was pretty late that day, he made sure that I got all my paperwork finished so that I don't have to come back again just to sign couple of papers. I would strongly recommend this dealership if any one of you are interested in buying a KIA. Trust me you don't really have to play the usual mind games here. I was shopping not thinking of buying because i knew i had issues with my credit - things that could be corrected but would have taken some time. Like most people, my wife and I went through some hardship due to the economy so our credit score did take some serious hit (credit score REALLY bad) - to the point i did not think it would be possible to finance anything for the next two years. The minute i entered the dealership, my wife and I were greeted with a very polite gentleman and i told him upfront i was just shopping due to my situation. To my surprise, instead of just "politely" getting rid of me, he was extremely accommodating and simply looked into my situation. Less than 15 minutes - i was approved!!! for a new car none the less! Than started the process of choosing the car (i had my sight set on the new Optima :)), after finding the right one (which they have a large range), we started the negotiations on prices and payments. i have bought cars in the past and i know these procedures can be battles often lost but i can tell you this: Frank made the deal to the point i was comfortable and helped us understand our financial situation in less than the 1/3 of the time it took with other dealers! SO: i got the car i wanted with my bad credit score AND i got really good free financial advice -more like tips- on how to improve my credit score!. It was THE BEST car buying experience ever.... That's says a lot because I'm use to BMWs and their great customer service, however; now with a baby our third car needed to be the best in safety and on a budget but I didn't want to compromise style. I GOT IT ALL.... My Kia Sorento was fully equipped and beautiful inside and out. Now let's talk about service.... VIP all the way, Matt our salesman was AMAZING! We drove up from Los Angeles because our cousin had also purchased a car with Capitol Kia and he was very happy with the service he received. Matt had our car detailed before we got there so we didn't need to wait since we had a long car ride with our baby and dogs. Additionally, he had our rental vacuumed before returning it to remove any dog hair.. That was above and beyond any "high end" dealership has ever done. Finally, we had no hassles with price. What was quoted and negotiated the day before via phone was the price . The sales manager Elizabeth worked her magic to secure the best price. Our finance person Joon was nice, quick and efficient. No compromise on quality, price, comfort or style. I know I said finally but one very notable advantage was the DGDG website.. I was able to review stock and select exactly what I wanted! Again.... AMAZING experience from beginning to end. We recommended this dealership to everyone who compliments our Sorento and to all family & friends. read more

Visited Capitol Kia to replace my Toyota HIghlander that unexpectedly developed a headgasket issue. I was looking for a inexpensive commute car for me and my wife to drive. I called Capitol Kia new years eve and spoke to a very knowledgeable salesperson named Robert over the phone about coming in to look at some vehicles. When we arrived Robert had several cars ready for us to see and test drive. We initially wanted to purchase a used VW TDI, which we test drove and considered buying until Robert explained why a better option for us would be a hybrid vehicle called the Niro. We knew nothing about this car when we arrived but Robert was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to understand our needs and budget and was able to suggest the perfect car. We had numerous questions about the Niro and Robert was incredibly knowledgeable about the car and seemed to know more about cars in general than any salesperson I ever dealt with. His great attitude and immense product knowledge reassured me and my wife that we not only found the right car, but also the right person to help us through what typically would have been a frustrating and difficult experience. We love our new 2018 White Niro LX and will be giving our saleman the highest score when we get the survey he talked to us about.
