My college recommended campus storage as a convenient and cost effective alternative, however that was exactly the opposite experience I had. This company hides everything in fine print, not to mention has many hidden fees lurking underneath. Charging students per item PER month is just downright immoral. My monthly bills ended up being close to $300 each. Don't count on them bringing back all of your belongings either. According to an inside source, this company doesn't separate items into individual lockers. Consequently, some of my items were mixed up with other students' stuff and were not in their previous condition. Very disappointed and will be addressing this with my university so as to dissuade fellow peers from making the same mistake. Oh and if that wasn't enough, they don't present you the monthly charges and premiums until AFTER they arrive to pick up your stuff because they have to add up all of your belongings. There were multiple complications with my delivery from beginning to end and I'm very disappointed in how I have been treated my Campus Storage. Because of these complications, it was hard for me to keep track of my boxes until I was able to unpack all of them and see what was in each one. What happened was: one of the movers told me I could deliver one of the boxes (so I thought I only had 9) but then you could not deliver so I had 10, then come August you sent me 8 of my own boxes and 4 of some other person's boxes, and then you came to take back the 4 other person's then sent me back 1 of my own boxes. They lost my 1 box worth $5,000 and stopped responding to me when I asked about it and refuse to give me any sort of refund. I absolutely do not recommend. read more

I was so happy to find a company that will pick up my daughter's belongings from her dorm room and deliver them to her new housing in the fall, especially since we live across the country and I am not able to be there to help her move out. I will never use campus storage again. I ended up with someone else's things mixed with my own and then I didn't even get all of my own objects until almost two weeks later. Not to mention, they didn't arrive to deliver my objects when they said they would. Instead, they came the day after. Definitely do not recommend. I would not recommend nor hire their services in the future. When students had to move out early in the fall, they adapted and provided services for move out, now that students have to return early to campus because of quarantine the company will not provide any help for an early delivery or self pick up, leaving students without their essentials for weeks and having to spend extra money buying more things. I called Campus Storage last minute in the evening to pick up my sons items to be stored last minute. They were awesome, not only did they answer my email right away, they picked up his stuff the next day and stored it for the summer. When it was time for my sons things to be dropped off they were there on time and again answered my email question promptly. I highly recommend Campus Storage. I wish I could give a ZERO star. I have to use this storage service because we lived on campus during the COVID-19 and our college was cooperating with this company. I was in a different city when they packed my belongings. They told me that they would video call while packing - none; they just messaged me when it was done. Later I negotiated with them on the shipping choices and proposed to use a third-party moving company. Of course they said no and told me that I need to pay delivery fee even if my company came to pick it up. Now I finally received my stuff. My picture frames were smashed, glasses broken, and oh my god, my legos were in pieces. When I unboxed the storage, my legos rushed out and were everywhere on the floor. The microwave and printers had scratches all over. The customer service agent told me that those scratches were NORMAL WEAR and they would not take any responsibility for that. Please, STOP RAPING THE COLLEGES AND STUDENTS DURING THIS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TIME!!! read more

This seemed like a super convenient way to store my stuff for the summer, however, it has been a nightmare. My program at school starts before the regular classes. Unfortunately my school didn't inform me about this until after I had already stored all of my stuff. I emailed campus storage and after a 2 weeks of emailing they told me that it is impossible to get me my stuff earlier than their specified window. They offer zero flexibility and the customer service is really poor. I can't call anyone and the woman that I emailed was honestly pretty rude and didn't actually seem interested in helping me. Moving is stressful and life is unpredictable. I would recommend storing your stuff with a different storage company even if it costs a little bit more. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. DO NOT RECOMMEND. 1. I was told that pick up and deliveries were free. HOWEVER, there is only a TINY 10 day window for the free service. Otherwise, it is $125+. When I asked if I could pick up my belongings myself, the guy said that I COULD NOT. 2. THEY NEVER PICK UP MY CALLS. I called the main office 5+ times and they never once picked up my call, and only returned my call two days later (after I had left 4 voice mails). I called the truck delivery men around 8 times and they never once picked up my call. 3. They were supposed to deliver my belongings between 9-11am. HOWEVER, they did NOT meet this window of time. THEY WERE LATE. NO ONE NOTIFIED ME OF THAT THE DELIVERY WOULD BE LATE. And when I called to ask the status of the delivery, they DID NOT pick up. 4. When they finally delivered my belongings. THEY FORGOT TO DELIVER HALF of my stuff. HOW DO YOU JUST NOT BRING HALF OF MY BELONGINGS?! I am still waiting for the second half of my stuff right now. This has been a huge inconvenience in my day. This is my first ever yelp review. I usually don't review but my experience with this business is so awful I had to share my experience. This business is dishonest and not upfront about the prices they will charge you. They charged me more than 100 dollars per month for FOUR (4) Boxes, and did not give me an initial quote. I was not aware of these ridiculous prices until they were at my apartment ready to move my things. I had to store the majority of my things myself at a friends house last minute bc they tried to charge me $225 per month for all my things. In addition, my pick up experience was awful. They were late 1.5 hours and had not methods for me to reach them. Calling the office brought me directly to voicemail. I was essentially waiting for nearly two hours without even knowing if they were showing up. Then, my plans changed and I needed to get my things back a month earlier. They had no pick up dates available so I emailed to ask if I could pick up. I was then told that there was no pick up allowed but I could schedule an emergency delivery for $400. (Btw all other storage companies in the area allow pick up.) DO NOT DO GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY. You are much better off working with College Storage or Jones Storage. read more

Awful company. They have outrageous fees for the simplest issues. Case in point: their out of area fee is $75.00 and out of the 5 mile radius of your school is what constitutes as the out of window fee. I would say they do make it easy for you to get your goods packed and sent off easily and the customer service I experienced with the movers themselves was great. However, the ease of doing business is a gigantic disappointment. The company does not offer anything remotely enticing to be able to back the charges and fees that they implement, in my opinion. While they do explicitly state that to get to your goods out of window will be a big fee, I don't think anyone should be under those constraints for having to get into their OWN goods. Use a Public Storage, it makes way more sense. read more

This company seemed really great at first, albeit a little expensive. I was a college freshman and my school advertised campus storage, so it was just really convenient. Everything was fine at first, the movers came and got my stuff on time. They were super nice and helpful. However, the problems came when I was moving into my new apartment this year. The movers delivered everything but told me that they broke my mirror. They said there was a new guy on the team that didn't know how to load the truck properly. I completely understood, these things happen right? The delivery guy assured me that all I had to do was email the company with a claims form and they would reimburse me or get me a new mirror immediately, making sure to tell me that the customer service was great about broken items. So, I emailed the company the next day with the claims form filled out. Two weeks went by and I realized that they had never got back to me. I emailed them again wondering if they had received the form and if they were in the process of reimbursing me. The woman who replied said that she would talk to her superiors about it. I got an email back the next day that really rubbed me the wrong way. She told me that I did not purchase insurance for my order so they really shouldn't be reimbursing me, but that they would make an exception this time. It was like she was saying they did me a favor when they were the ones who broke the mirror. The icing on the cake was that she ended the email by requesting me to write the company a good yelp review, basically like a "present" for them reimbursing me. While I understand that it's probably corporate policy to only reimburse with insurance, I was assured by the movers that I would be fully reimbursed no matter what, because of their "great customer service." So not only did I have to wait 2 weeks to hear anything, I had to receive a really passive aggressive email from them. Asking a customer to write a good yelp review in "exchange" for good customer service is extremely unethical and it really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not going to be bought like that and that's why I'm writing this honest review. So while I was reimbursed the $40 (I don't know why a big company would make such a fuss for this amount), I was left with a really bad impression. So basically, if you want to use this company, yeah they're really convenient, but you better hope you never have to deal with their customer service department. Edit: Make sure you read some of the super rude and unapologetic replies on previous bad reviews, blaming the customer. The point of customer service is to help the customer that didn't have a good experience, not vehemently defend the company. If you don't believe me about their customer service, those replies will convince you. read more

Dishonest. Just be aware that the cost you see on the pricing page will end up being approximately 70-80% of the actual cost (depends on how long you store), because there are going to be fees hidden in the terms and conditions. I am fine with the price. However, these little tricks make costumers question their trustworthiness. Update: Lol, it is the end of the summer and a friend of mine complained about almost exactly the same thing to me about this company. These guys delivered all my packing supplies right to my dorm front desk not two but three weeks before my pick up date! To top it off, they came promptly within my 1 hour premium package slot. Long story short, this company capitalizes and exploits the naivety of college students. DO NOT LET THEM RIP YOU OFF. My friend is being charged 900$ for storing 10 medium sized boxes this summer. This company is terrible. It is a rip off. They charge you prices that are significantly higher than those advertised on the website. For instance, you do not find out how much you will be paying ($350 for 3 medium size boxes for me) until the storage people have finished packing your things and you are seconds away from signing the contract. On the invoice, the individual charges are not listed; only the total price. The first month's fee $50 higher than what I expected from the pricing listed on the website; the only explanation given was "packing supplies and moving fees" which should not cost so much. THE WORST PART is that once you store your items with them, there is no way to get your items back until the end of the summer (at least 3-4 months) unless you want to pay a "$200 fee," according to the extremely rude and unhelpful employees I spoke with over the phone. If you try to cancel before the storage company takes your stuff, they will charge you $50 regardless of how far in advance you cancel. Five of my friends chose another company where they stored enough items for 5 people--including a futon, 10 boxes, 3 mini fridges--a large amount of items that would have cost over $2000 with Campus Storage, considering the friend I mentioned at the top of this review is paying $900 for 10 boxes with Campus Storage. By NOT using Campus Storage, each of my 5 friends are only paying $55 for the entire summer. ***Bottom line: DO NOT USE CAMPUS STORAGE!!! They are a rip off. You will feel like a fool once they charge you exorbitant prices, and you have absolutely no way to get your items back for AT LEAST four months...while you pay hundreds of dollars each month in order to let these people take advantage of you. read more

I recently used campus storage at SMU, Dallas, TX for my daughter. They delivered her things in wet boxes and mildew was present. I had to throw away many articles including pillows, comforter, and decorative pillows . We were not contacted before hand that we had damaged items. I have also emailed the company and they have not replied. I was told by the delivery men that they had water damage at their facilities. As many of you can imagine , many of these items were special ordered to match her roommate and can not be replaced. I also needed my daughter's things a week earlier due to her assisting with Freshman move in. We were also told that we could not have her things nor could we pick them up ourselves. Make sure that you read the fine print if you choose to use them. I DO NOT recommend this company at all. I would use a local company near by. read more

I've used the campus storage in the DMV area and they are awful. In 2016 I used their services for the first time and the movers gave a very broad time frame for when they would come pick up my things. In the end they came at around 9 pm, after they said they would pick up my things between 10 am and 4 pm. Although this was a huge inconvenience the guys were very friendly and polite. Since this company gives a good price for their service I arranged for them to pick up my things again for the 2017 school semester. The pick up went very smooth and on time and once again the movers were extremely pleasant. However, when it came to drop off my belongings after the summer, it was not a smooth process. I was scheduled to have my things dropped off on August 17 and I received an email confirming that on July 25. When August 17 rolled around I received no email no phone call or anything to indicate when/ where my belongs where or when they would arrive. I called several times and there was no response and once I did receive a response the individual informed me that they had a high volume of drop offs on my designated day so they would have to reschedule me for the next day. Mind you, they gave me no prior warning of this "rescheduling issue". I had already moved into my dorm room on the 17th of august because this date was confirmed in July. I had planned on using this company's services each year, but after this very unprofessional incident (which in my opinion would not have been an issue if I was notified in advance) I will never store my belongings with this company again. If you plan on using the campus storage company in the DMV area look else where. read more

I was completely satisfied with my service. I used them in New York at Columbia, and the website was so easy to use I set up everything from pickup to delivery without ever using the phone. I like doing everything online. And overall they were pretty much on time. If you want your stuff picked up and delivered - door to door - its the best deal, as long as you use the free window days. But there's about 10 of them, so its not too difficult to fit in. It is very clear on the website that if you want your stuff outside of the windows there are extra fees. No summer storage place has ever let me pick up my own stuff, because then everyone would do it and steal other people's stuff! read more

Awful company. I received emails about them in my UA cat mail and decided to go with them, as i was focused on finals. They charge PER ITEM PER MONTH and the rates ARE EXPENSIVE. After calculating what would have been 100+ dollars a month (two 17 by 17 boxes a dresser a mattress and a desk) i decided it was pretty ridiculous, then was tacked with a 50 dollar cancelation fee. Total BS. Even after the cancelation fee, my monthly storage for a 10x5x8 storage unit is only 50 dollars a month, which is still cheaper than the 300 plus i would have paid. This company lurks on college kids and strips them of their money. Total waste of time. I did receive good customer service though when speaking with an employee. read more

Overpriced Disappointment When my son said he got a flyer on campus advertising a storage place, I was thrilled he had found a place to store his things over the summer. I didn't bother checking the prices as I figured it would be a little more than self storage and a whole lot more convenient. Yes, they came and picked up his packed boxes from the dorm room at the appointed time. But that's when the good vibes ended. After paying over $500 to store 5 boxes for three months we were ready to set up delivery to his new apartment. Problem: they only deliver on one weekend of their choosing and we were flying in for just one day on the Friday before. They said there was no way they could deliver on that Friday. After some digging, we found on their website you can pay an extra $195 to set up delivery by an outside company on the day you need it. Ok, sounds crazy, but when you're desperate...what's another $195 after already being gouged? Besides, we only had the one day. "Sorry" says the oh so helpful response, "we're not doing that anymore". Okaaaaay, we will rent a bigger car and go pick up the boxes ourselves from the storage place. No sorry, not zoned for that. Believe me, I tried everything and this company would not lift a finger to help, nor did they seem to care. They already had all our cash...apparently not in the "repeat business" business. Bottom line, I'm flying cross country to help move my son in for one day only, and his things are being held hostage. Store yourself for for about $100 a summer and stay away from CAMPUS STORAGE. read more

Unprofessional and ruined my things. I used campus storage for my summer storage, however needed the items shipped due to a change of schools. I stored items including a computer, dishware, and pots and pans. Upon asking for shipment, I am told they can only ship boxes at which their solution for my large items in storage was to just dump them (over $1000 worth of items) and seemed confused when i asked to simply leave any items that could not be shipped in storage. Upon delivery, ALL of my boxes were beyond smashed, most split open at the sides. When removing my items, I have discovered significant damage to many of my items including dented pots and broken dishes. When my items were initially picked up i had mentioned many items were fragile upon which i was told to simply mark the boxes and it would be taken care of. DO NOT USE IF YOU VALUE YOUR THINGS. If only I could actually hear back from them on whether the insurance I also purchased actually means my items getting replaced or simply another empty promise. read more
