Even when I have had situations that don't fit perfectly within their methods, he has found creative ways to get me what I need and still fit within policy. I really enjoy working with him and have come back to this specific location because of that. I end up visiting my unit on occasion, simple things out or put things in and no matter what time of day, the space is always impeccably clean, tempered , and feels safe. Two issues: the front door has been broken, which isn't a small thing at a storage facility. I finally found time to call and Robert remembered me via their automated system and provided excellent customer care. As courtesy, I let the lady at the front that someone forgot to lock their unit because, I forgot to lock it before and I was informed by Antwan that I forgot to lock my unit. I was paying the favor back. She told me that she did not like MY TONE. Chris from another unit that I have confirmed that I never gave a bad tone of voice to anyone ever. The service here is terrible. The service from the call center is terrible. Stated that there office hours on Sunday are from 6:00AM to 8:00PM. When we get to the location there is no one in the office and the front door says closed on Sunday. I have no way to access my storage space, because we needed a code to enter the building and elevator. We have a U'haul full of our house furniture. Their inaccurate posted hours have completely wasted my Sunday. It's yet to be seen how much additional this is going to cost me. After moving in with my fiancee, we needed a place to store our extra stuff, so we turned to Extra Space Storage. They have the best price per cubic foot compared to other storage companies I researched that were highly reviewed. Antawn, the main rep at their East El Segundo facility, gave me a tour of he property and I was impressed with the security and cleanliness. Extra Space bought the property a year or two ago and renovated it, and it still looks brand new. Since I signing the rental agreement a few months ago I've been back to the storage facility 1 to 2 times a week to move stuff in and out, and everything has gone smoothly. Their keypad access system means I have a private, unique code i can use to enter the property, so I never have to worry about losing a key or card. The keypad controls access to the entry door, elevator and vehicle gate, so there are multiple layers of security to help prevent tailgaters. Extra Space also provides carts to use during office hours, which makes moving items in and out much easier. The location is also in a quiet, upper middle class part of town, which gives me peace of mind. So far, renting here has been a great decision. read more

Unethical! They have a very clear issue with theft, and absolve themselves of any responsibility in their rental agreement. The lease agreement actually says "Operator exercises neither care, custody, nor control over customer's stored property and all property stored within the space or at the facility by customer shall be stored at customer's sole risk". They might as well have all the doors wide open and bags over the video cameras. Should anything happen to your unit, they won't call, and will happily continue to collect your rent. When I filed a police report, the officer said it happens all the time at this location. When I filed a BBB complaint, they replied with the leasing agreement, saying they're not liable and they won't issue any kind of refund. They do not take any responsibility for the service they provide, and do absolutely nothing to protect their customers. I had the worst experience Extra Space Storage. I went online and reserved a unit for my storage. Then I called Extra Space Storage on the same day Tuesday the 27th. Spoke to a male representative of extra Space storage. Got the information I needed regarding the storage unit.On the 28th, 29th and the 30th i was called by the same male representative for Extra Space Storage .Saying will i be there to get the unit. I flet like i was being harassed, forced. I understand that I reserved the unit but things change in the process of moving I'm just. In people's life. So if I did not call being responsible to saying "is the unit still available and can I still have it" would be on me and only me. Topeak also consistently as quite irritating then I thought to myself maybe this company cares about the customer. Let me not assume the worst. So with that in mind being called today, this morning, gave me a thought that maybe they go on commission. Just a thought, so I decided to ask that question, when I arrived at the place. You see I promise myself that from now on I will only deal with companies that will treat me as if I'm them, as if I'm the one who owns the company. As if I'm family but not asking for anything free because I don't think that's right. But with compassion with concern with respect with honor. So when I go to the place the same mail that I spoke to I said hello greeted him with a soft voice and implied my question. Do you go in commission?. The man got upset with me replied no we do not go by Commission, and said he was offended by that question. I did not understand why he would be offended by that question. So I apologize to him for offending him and that was not my intention. And before I can finish talking he interrupted quite loudly I would not let me speak. It made me feel uncomfortable that I would not want to deal with a company that would treat me like this over a question. I understand who you are today is not who you are tomorrow depending on what you're going through in your life each day. One call ti ask if i was getting the unit qould be safe enough.i have common sense amd im responsible for myself. The one called back was quite enough to indicate if I was getting the place or not.
