I had the worst experience Extra Space Storage. I went online and reserved a unit for my storage. Then I called Extra Space Storage on the same day Tuesday the 27th. Spoke to a male representative of extra Space storage. Got the information I needed regarding the storage unit.On the 28th, 29th and the 30th i was called by the same male representative for Extra Space Storage .Saying will i be there to get the unit. I flet like i was being harassed, forced. I understand that I reserved the unit but things change in the process of moving I'm just. In people's life. So if I did not call being responsible to saying "is the unit still available and can I still have it" would be on me and only me. Topeak also consistently as quite irritating then I thought to myself maybe this company cares about the customer. Let me not assume the worst. So with that in mind being called today, this morning, gave me a thought that maybe they go on commission. Just a thought, so I decided to ask that question, when I arrived at the place. You see I promise myself that from now on I will only deal with companies that will treat me as if I'm them, as if I'm the one who owns the company. As if I'm family but not asking for anything free because I don't think that's right. But with compassion with concern with respect with honor. So when I go to the place the same mail that I spoke to I said hello greeted him with a soft voice and implied my question. Do you go in commission?. The man got upset with me replied no we do not go by Commission, and said he was offended by that question. I did not understand why he would be offended by that question. So I apologize to him for offending him and that was not my intention. And before I can finish talking he interrupted quite loudly I would not let me speak. It made me feel uncomfortable that I would not want to deal with a company that would treat me like this over a question. I understand who you are today is not who you are tomorrow depending on what you're going through in your life each day. This man accused me of being rude being the customer which I was offended by but i did not reply that to him, because all I asked was a question, do you get commission for each customer that you pull in, to get a storage space because of the calls each day, which was really annoying. One call ti ask if i was getting the unit qould be safe enough.i have common sense amd im responsible for myself. The one called back was quite enough to indicate if I was getting the place or not. Through it all I never called him out of his name never accused him of being rude loud, obnoxious, ungentlemanlike, terrible customer service. I kept that to myself at that time because he's entitled to feel and say what he wants to. I'm not going against him being offensive or offended by me what I'm upset about is how he handled the situation, it was terrible customer service he was uncomfortably loud, which was quite intimidating and mentally abusive to me.man want us to follow and honor them then they need to lead with respect so we can do the same 8f not step out of the way. he was not in control of his emotion at all. So with that being said I decided not to take the space at the storage center called Extra Space Storage. Instead I relied on public storage and even though they're a bit expensive I rather pay for the quality of service and care then to get a cheap storage space with disrespect dishonor and complete lack of control of one's emotions. At the public storage I was greeted by two lovely females that I asked them the same question and they just replied no then after a while I told them the story and they laughed replying that was ridiculous.its a simply yes or no i said thank you. Because it bothered me meaning. Was I wrong to ask that question, so I had to research it a bit more and got I my answer. So thank you Public Storage for your great customer service and understanding. Thank you for treating me as if I'm you. Extra Storage Space, etc. has no rent control and they will go up as often as they choose. The manager refuses to allow you to go over her head and speak to District or Regional manager. She was cocky-arrogant and seemed to give off the air that she has headquarter's blessings to abuse customers as needed as they will have no recourse to anyone to complain to. The gate-door for the units was left open to the public and when I inquired about it, I was told "oh the painters are here [all nonchalantly]..." Demonstating their lack of concern for theft oportunities or protecting their customers units. They tried to trick/force me into buying their locks even though I told them 5 times I already owned 6 of them. Even worse, was their refusal to allow me to read a copy of the contract lease ahead of me signing it! ...And they were going to charge my Debit card the intro fee while refusing to print out the contract so I can read and refuse if I wanted to. (they didn't even tell me what was in it! -- Until I demanded my debit card back, they started spilling the dirt! Saying I was required to allow them to roll over funds from my bank on a particular day every month! I was hell no!!! I've seen Storage company charge banks twice and admit weeks later than it was technical error. And the company didn't even tell the customer they accidentally charged them twice weeks later! Shaddy as hell! This company - is out of Utah - they have a history of ripping off as they know the hardships of paying for movers, trucks etc. so people lose their life-long belongings as Americans are dealing with financial losses, or the lose of their jobs and homes, down-size, or are females fleeing homes from domesticated violence. Extra Space Storage have horrendous business practices and use the "Bate and Switch" methods to entice victims and then raise rates beyond what they can afford during these challenging economic times. Extra Storage Space Customers service over phone will tell you one thing and then when you visit the facility the manager will contradict it by telling you something completely different. I was told over the phone I could sign a waiver if they didn't want to buy their insurance, however when you come in the manager told me that it wasn't true, customers are required to buy their insurance. When in itself feels like she's call the customer [me] a liar. When according to customer service over the phone, she demonstrating she's the one who's lying. Tacky customer service on both ends! The manager said, she couldn't print a copy of the lease until I was ready to sign it! I told her I needed more time to read it before signing it since they wanted to charge my account before I signed on the line. Beware they want you to blindly sign their contract lease WITHOUT YOU READING IT! DO NOT LET THEM take your money and commit you to agree to the contract within seconds after charging your Debit Card. They hire personal who have shaddy sociopathic personalities, thieves, pathological liars, con artist, heartless, cold blooded, and selfish employees. They forced customers to pay for insurance and then the insurance companies consistantly renig on paying out for damages. I find it hard to respect these real estate monopolizers! There is just no excuse for their business practices. Victims have lost their entire lives of belongings, professional tools, family personal heirlooms. There is a desparate need for CHANGE! RUN LIKE HELL! Bottom line -- Don't do business with them!!! AND WE SHOULD ALL PRAY FOR CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST THE GREEDY REAL ESTATE MONOPOLIZERS AND PREDATOR BUSINESS PRACTICES!!
