Instead, they billed me for the full month which I paid, thinking they would refund me the difference when I officially moved out. Same issue as William C. (6/18/25) - I had just made my payment on the 6/10 and on 6/17 I was able to clear out my unit in one trip, so I decided to turn my keys in at the office. I was told I had to give a 10 day notice, but the receptionist said she would ask the manager if they could pro-rate it then, since she still had to confirm the unit was empty. I could have given my 10 day at that moment, but was led to believe that since it was only a week into the new month they would get back to me. Of course, when I called today, 6/24 they said that they can't even get into the system, too bad, need to give 10 days notice. It is a nice clean & secure place, however, my $233/mo unit (I'd sa was 8' x 10 unit) went up to $337 in 15 months! Overpaid! read more

Buyer Beware - Buyer Beware - Buyer Beware This establishment is nothing more than a deceitful bait-and-switch operation with underhanded tactics. They offer only a month-to-month lease, reserving the right to cancel, alter, or inflate the price at their whim - and they do. Merely two months after I rented a space for my trailer at $275 per month, they decided to withdraw that offer and make me completely move. They gave me a paltry month to return from overseas, secure a vehicle for towing, and locate a new spot at the onset of summer - a near-impossible task. Eventually, I found another spot at an Extra Space in Redondo Beach, 20 miles south. Just when I thought things were settling down, they pulled the same stunt three months later, hiking my rent by a staggering 56% - with only a month's notice! I've rented storage spaces for years where the price was locked in upon signing, with no changes for years on end. Extra Space, however, is only suitable if you need a place for a fleeting one or two months at most. Any longer, and you risk having to relocate your belongings, pay more than you can afford, or scramble to find another place. This is nothing short of extortion and a downright thuggish way to conduct business. Look at some of the other review here and you will see that this is not an exaggeration, and their security level is quite lacking as well. read more

I highly recommend them - Units are maintained, facility is clean, I had easy access to my units and the all the staff I have dealt with are very helpful. The manager says that the cylinder locks hard to remove!! Well that's great buddy because the door I had was the old door with a regular pad lock I have pictures to prove that so you either was too lazy to look or just plain out don't know what is going on at your facility??? Extra Space Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Redondo Beach, California

There's a lot of theft going on here and units are broken into but for some reason security doesn't catch them and cameras never work. Prices increased several times in 2 years. The staff are ignorant. Closed on holidays and closes earlier than normal. Meaning I can't enter the gate to go to my unit...I'm not talking about the office. Once someone rammed the entrance gate and it took several days to fix while whomever came and went freely. They do not give proper notice to enter your (overpriced) unit and will cut your lock. The homeless live and roam around the grounds while the "security guards" harass the tenants. No lights in units or electrical outlets. Dirty trash everywhere and Graffitti. It's also difficult to enter the property from the street. It's a sh** show... do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I did now I'm in a safe secure location. read more

Moved into unit and about two weeks later, my unit was broken into. Thief had easily pried up old hinge. For whatever reason, didn't replace the hinge on my unit until after it was broken into despite telling me that the facility was making efforts to update the hinges. Police mentioned that break ins have happened before at this location. read more

Signed up for a "deal" in June 2023. Two months later my rent increased over $100 per month. The deal was a move to get you in the door and then they raised the rental 41 percent two months into the contract. I have rented many units for my personal and business needs and NEVER had a rental increase at this amount, nor this fast. Beware of the tactics they pull in order to lock you in and not go with a competitor. On top of that, if you do not tell them ahead of time that you may be moving out in the following month, proration is not available. Again not something I have experienced with other rentals as the notice period is usually 10-14 days to provide and they refund back the amount of time un- used as they can re-rent the unit. Overall would not recommend if you want a straight forward business and relationship that is not entirely in favor of the rental company. read more

No carts to load and unload your items into your units ( big thumbs down!) and junk everywhere on the side of the one way street that goes around the facility, no room for your vehicle to unload. I never leave bad reviews but this place is Almost downright criminal. I went to my unit one day and saw that there was now a different lock on it. I called the manager to the unit and he informed me that the lock was put on by management as there had been a break in and my lock was gone. I asked when the break in occurred and he said it had been THREE WEEKS prior! When I asked why I wasn't informed he said that I "should have been" then after some research says they accidentally informed the wrong tenant... I then asked if they had filed a police report and they told me they did not and that it's the tenants responsibility as it's my property.. yet I had no idea it had happened.. it gets even crazier.. when I asked about security footage from the camera that points directly at my unit they refused and told me they are not obligated to supply that. What was stolen from my unit was camera / production equipment which was in very large cases weighing hundreds of pounds. These would have needed to be loaded into a truck. A truck that would have had to type in an access code to enter and there would have been plenty of evidence of that. Now I'm not saying that they had something to do with the robbery but they definitely did absolutely nothing to help or find who did. Had I known at the time of the break in I could have had a better chance of locating my property at local pawnshops or resale sites... needless to say. Never store anything here that you don't want stolen. This happened on 2021 and I am still mad enough to finally leave a review in 2023 with the hopes of saving others the same pain I went through. read more

The representative was 1st class in his professionalism, knowledge, and kindness. he was very patient with me and explained everything clearly. he took the extra time to help me learn how to use the lock. he was bright, quick, and positive. the service area is very clean and well maintained as well as secure. Rented a storage unit over the phone with an agent. Received my check in information by email with specific instructions on how to access my unit (gate access code, how to access my unit etc). Great, sounds promising so far. Load up my car plus a UHaul and drive from San Diego up to LA with all my stuff only to find my gate access code isn't working and it's after office hours so there is no one around to help me either physically or by phone. Ok perfect. Luckily someone is exiting so I am able to get through the gate! Drive around to my unit only to find a padlock on the door that I clearly do not have a key to. Freak out a little and then realize there's nothing I can do and drive my car back down to San Diego and cry over how much time and gas money I've wasted. The next morning I call customer service who inform me that the representative I booked the storage unit though must have forgotten to let me know that at this particular location you must come in during office hours to check in (instead of the self serve option I read about in my email confirmation). Total disaster. AVOID this business like the plague! read more
