Update to my previous review: They responded to my previous review in a way that did not address my complaint. They said that "Rate adjustments are occasionally necessary". But I never suggested that Rate adjustments are NOT occasionally necessary. So their statement is irrelevant to my complaint. I complained that a 43% increase is outrageous. They never addressed this complaint. I replied to say so; and then I got an email saying that they commented on my reply. However, I cannot see their added comment anywhere; so I have no idea what it is. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with US Storage Centers. We got our unit in April 2025. Since then our rate has increased 4 times. The latest increase amounts to 78% of the original price we were paying. Original price was $179 and it has increased to $319. I called to complain, but the response was that "everyone does that to existing customers." Their website offers our same unit size for $186. Victor's solution..."we can give you another 10 x 10 for $186. So we're supposed to pay to have all the our items moved to another unit only to have the rent increase in 3-6 months. The excuse that "everyone in the industry does it" is no excuse at all and doesn't make it right. I totally understand annual increases, but 4 increases in a year and 4 months is extreme. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

Total bait and switch. I signed up for a $65 a month storage unit and paid for 3 months in advance and then starting getting bills for $175 a month and was told that the unit that I actually got was Not the $65 special. These people were rude about it they offered me no refund. It's basically just total fraud. It's unfortunate I was really excited to be able to get a local storage unit right near my house for a fantastic price and I intended to hold on to the unit for several years I understood that the price went up to 175 a month afterwards but for 65 bucks a month for three months that was a good deal. Compared to other storage facilities in the area, this place was reasonably priced. It is conveniently located by the Galleria, more specifically behind Ralphs. Melissa was super nice and helpful in getting my wife set up with a unit on our first visit. So far, we haven't had any issues when visiting. I rarely see others there at the same time I'm there, and I've always felt safe and secure. read more

Updated 5-3-22. The area manager Manuel did get involved and did his best to reimburse me for some of my loss. He also gave me a 6 month discount on a different storage unit and reduced rate to help cover my loss. I now have insurance on my belongings inside the unit as well. ( I Highly recommend this). Ask Stephanie the manager for the insurance info. Stephanie and her staff are courteous and have assured me there are new security protocols in place. The sales staff was friendly and welcoming -- now I know why. Four months after moving in, the facility increased my rent from $338 to $487 per month -- that's a 50% increase! When I called the office, they tried to justify it by telling me their maintenance costs have increased. When I explained to Andrew, the manager, that inflation peaked at 7% and I'm sure their maintenance costs have NOT increased 50%, he was silent. I'm sure they know that no one wants to move twice in 5 months, so they take advantage of the situation by boosting rates shortly after you sign the contract. I've been renting multiple storage spaces in Southern California for more than 25 years, and while all storage facilities eventually increase their rates, this is ridiculously excessive. I'll be using my meager 30-day notice to find a new, more reasonable facility. My recommendation: Find another storage facility. read more

I have heard stories of predatory storage centers, and you'll find that this is one of them. The service and unit have been fine thus far, but the pricing and rent increase policies are outrageous! I have been renting a unit for only three months. The first month was discounted due to the obligatory move-in special and then went up to full. agreed-upon monthly rates. That was all spelled out and agreed upon. Now, I'm about to pay for my third month and they've just told me they're increasing the agreed-upon monthly rate by more than 16%! What the hell?! I've only just had one month of the agreed price! There are no protections for storage renters, but the industry standard seems to be an increase between 6 months to 1 year. 16%! Within 3 months! I have 0% faith in them that they won't hit me with another increase the following month! How am I expected to do business with them like this? read more

Delicia showed me around and indulged me in figuring out any way to get me to work with them. Ultimately, it didn't work out but not for the lack of trying on their end. Other noteworthy highlights, they are conveniently located off of Hawthorne, tucked behind Ralphs. This is my first time getting storage and Joan and Stephanie were so very helpful. It was really fast and easy to set up, and Joan very kindly took us around to view storage space and show us around. When we went back to start using our storage, Joan helped bring a dolly around for us and showed my husband where to go while I waited in the car with my kids. They have a very generous and family-oriented relationship with their clients and I felt very taken care of. Joan especially was very friendly and helpful. BEWARE! My storage unit has been broken into 2 times in a few months. They did not contact me immediately when the alarms have been set in either case. The first time the camera footage wasn't saved. I have been with this company for almost a year renting two storage units. I was okay with this storage unit but it was way too expensive and I felt the Manager John was rude and condescending at W. Pleasant Ridge in Arlington. He treated me like I was stupid which is very unprofessional. Also, I know many people who just leave items in the storage unit and are not charged. Not that I had planned on doing that but they said they would charge another month if I didn't give them 10 days' notice and all of the items were not removed. I was told by Philip Wilson (the man that worked there when I moved in) when I got the unit that if I bought their lock I would be reimbursed for the lock when I moved out. Today I was told I would not get that money back and then they refused to give me the headquarters number. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!! I am moving my items to another storage for a lot less which is climate controlled. read more

The on-site mgr is great as long as you are a paid tenant. The district mgr is MIA. After 15 years of renting a spot for my Rv I had to terminate my lease due to the increasing rent. On my last day of paid rent I went to drive the RV out only to find damage to my rig. Having cameras as they advertise would allow me to find the culprit. Not so. Quoted: "we don't have time to sit and watch video" "that's what you have insurance for" " you are not a customer anymore". I call corp and leave a message and no return call. Buyer beware. 1415 Hawthorne Blvd Redondo Beach ca 90278. I and 23 other people are very disappointed at the lack of management, safety and trust we have in U.S storage. A total of 24 units were broken into Saturday 27 2020 at 3 am.We did not get notified of the break in until 5:30pm.They sold us on how safe and secure the storage facility is. I could understand 1 or 2 units max on the outside units . the fact it was 24 units inside the building seems like an inside job to me.
