I had to deal with getting a storage unit really fast for an emergency. I called a few places in the area and I have to say most of them are rude or very short and uniformed. When I spoke to Jasmine she was very helpful and polite. She was able to find us a unit at a much better rate than the other local storage facilities. Good rates online. I called to see if they would be able to honor the rate today instead of tomorrow. We didn't mind waiting but wanted to know if it was possible so we could start moving in on the weekend. The customer service women that picked up was very rude. I started the conversation with do I need to wait for tomorrow or would you be able to honor that rate if I came in today? She checked and gave me their price *higher. So I confirmed myself "that means I would need to wait until tomorrow then?" and she didn't respond. The phone was silent for a whole minute and then she said "ok". So I repeated myself and her response was "if that's the price you want to pay". What? Did you not pay attention to how the conversation started. Customer lost. I'd rather pay more somewhere else for better service. I can't imagine if I was in person. read more

I need to update my review. I don't recommend this place at all. I don't receive full service but they raise fee and charge full amount. I CAN NOT ACCESS TO MY 3rd FLOOR UNIT NOW. No way to bring heavy boxes down to use only stairs. Lack of maintenance, elevator doesn't work for 60 DAYS! I got this notice AFTER I sent a claim. I have boxes to store for my work and bring boxes down but only elevator is out of service, DISTRICT MANAGER told me that either I have to use stairs or PAY FULL AMOUNT of empty unit down stairs even it's temporary and may need it for a couple of days. DON'T USE THIS PLACE IF YOU USE STORAGE REGULARLY. NO ALTERNATIVE ACCESS TO UPPER UNIT AND POOR MAINTENANCE. read more

Unfortunately, security at this location is very lacking. Within 9 months, with no visible damage to my "approved" lock, my 63" Plasma TV was stolen (along with some tools). At the time I reported it, other patrons mentioned, it wasn't the first time they heard this. Though I still have my remaining household in storage, I fear going back to see what else may be missing. Now... my bill is saying it is past due, despite the balance indicating $0.00, and the due date is two weeks away. If I could afford to move the content to a location closer to where I live currently, I would not hesitate. If you rent from this location, monitor your storage space as often as possible for missing articles. read more

If I could give this storage company less than one star, I would. I believe this facility has a strong rodent nesting problem. Also, I am not happy with the rates they charge for the quality and size of the unit. I was lured in with a promising pricing promotion, only to get hit with strong rent raises soon after and continuing for the years I had my items stored...much higher than other storage units i have at other companies. Yes, I should have moved my stuff sooner and glad when I finally made the move. My biggest concern is customer service. On the first of the month, I notified the office that I would be vacating on the 1st of the following month and was told that with the notice, as long as I was out by the 1st of the following month, my account would close in good standing with no additional charges. I moved out on the first of the next month, but thirty-five days later I started receiving harassment calls from a collection agency for an extra month's rent. I called to discuss and was told the agreement couldn't be honored, that company policy dictated that space must be vacated by last day of the month. Good riddance. read more

I had an amazing experience with this specific location. I left my car outdoors in one of their spaces for 9 months, and it was totally secure and well looked after. At the time Jasmine was working there and she was a DELIGHT to interact with. So friendly, helpful and resourceful, and clear with explaining to me, all of the questions I needed assurance with. She also helped me out with Wifi, when I was having issues with my phone, so that I could catch a taxi out of there. Just beyond helpful. Paperwork, payment transactions, notifications, communications, directions, updates, was as SMOOTH as an be. Plus the price they offered was impossible to beat. The location also has a good vibe and nothing questionable about it, which is something I look for in a storage facility. Further more, upon my return, my car battery was out of charge, which was expected, and one of the facility workers, who was actually just coming off her lunch break, was SO kind and thoughtful enough to drive her vehicle down to my car, and give me a jump start. Had she not, I may have been sitting there for a long time waiting for roadside. Haha. This review should have been written and sent out a long time ago. I hope either of these two wonderful people end up reading this. Either way, they made my experience ABSOLUTELY STRESS FREE. If anyone is thinking of leaving their automobile for an extended period of time with them, look no further. Thank you Torrance Public Storage Team! Really didn't have a problem with them since I started renting at the beginning of the year, but today they decided to call my emergency contact for collections. The worst part, I am only behind less than a month for a small unit. According to Property Manager Francine, that is considered an emergency. I really wish them luck with their financial crisis. The part where you attach your lock to secure your storage unit door is nailed down ON THE OUTSIDE. so, in theory, anyone with a screwdriver could unscrew it, and it and your lock would easily come off. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN. VERY INSECURE. Also, the floors in the facility are never cleaned. This is our first storage renting and we found the place based on the reviews and how close it is fron my apartment. When we got there we were greeted by the employees, helped us right away and showed us our unit. The walkthrough was great, Neishia was thorough with the details and everything we needed to know about our first storage renting. The location is pretty clean and the hallways was nicely lit although it gave me that horror movies/video games vibe which was pretty cool. Afterall all that we went back to the office and started our lease(or rent). All 3 employees Nieshia, Francine and Evelyn were very helpful with the process. They explained every details that we had to check off and we were on our way! So to sum it all up, great employees, clean location, and great service! read more

Honestly, they dont even deserve 1 star...All I want to say is I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE RENTING FROM PUBLIC STORAGE. Just read over the contract completely & you will know how scandalous they are. Starts out with hidden fees that are not listed on their websites & then they raise rent often. Much of my items were stolen from my unit, elevated was not working for over a month could not easily access my 3rd floor unit. Staff is rarely in office so very hard to get to use a cart since they are locked up. I could go on but bottom line is please dont be duped by these scandals. read more

We finally moved out and I couldn't be happier. After the fast-talking lady left the property, the property got even worse! She was replaced by a staff of very rude women who made a series of penny-pinching changes. The first issue is that they put the hallway lights on short timers. Previously, it was on a timer that allowed you to select a length of time, much like a jacuzzi timer. The units don't have a light inside of them, so this is your only source of light! Then they put new timers, which I believe are 15 minute ones. Don't go alone to your unit or you'll find yourself in a pile of boxes in the pitch black. Scary! Worst of all, our rent was increased twice "to provide better customer service", to the point where we were paying more than was advertised on their website or any other price comparison site! They had made no changes to the property, other than changing the light timers, so I'd like to know what the additional $40 a month was for! Basically, they raised the rent until we left. When we vacated our unit, they didn't really seem to care. Good riddance! read more

I think the ladies who work there are great and the units are okay. It would be nice if there was lighting in the actual unit or what is provided in the hallway was sufficient to see inside the units. The company, itself has poor business practices. They lure you in with low storage fees and, soon after, increase the rental fee by a significant amount because they recognize that moving is a hassle for most and people are less likely to move within a few months after placing their items in storage. I previously rented with a different company and had my items stored for years with no increase in my rate. Increased rates should be applied to new tenants or possibly on an annual basis, but not soon after you move in. I WOULD NOT recommend to others. Shop around for options available to you with other storage companies and ask about anticipated rate increases. Public storage is quite vague and will state that it can happen at anytime, which is code for "real soon." read more

My Wife and I have been storing our possessions here the past few months while relocating. The whole process has been super easy and convenient! THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU!!! and they get copies of the keys because there is no proof of forced entry and they will deny your insurance claim for that very reason.... an employee lives on site and just doesn't have a clue how it happened to SEVERAL tenants.... convenient! there are NO security cameras covering any unit.... didn't know this until after my things were stolen of cours. Horrible, horrible horrible has been my experience. Knowing that my unit is unlocked tonight, and that they say they cannot get anyone to fix it until tomorrow really bothers me. It have been broken into once already and they tried to fix it with a "not typical type of lock". (Think its called a haas or hash or something Ive never heard of) that for the most part I could not unlock/lock without the help from someone in the office. It took me a while to get in touch with Customer Service. Araceli McMahon-Mendoza who is the district manager has not contacted me as of yet. I am livid... I work, I travel, I do not have extra time to take care of my storage concerns... Actually there shouldn't be any concerns. My unit with me belongings should be safe 24hr/7days a week. They did offer me another unit to move into today today, but of course I would have to find/pay movers to move my belongings there..at this moment. Anyhow, NEVER AGAIN PUBLIC STORAGE..Customer Service was a joke, I don't know how anyone could stand working there. ANYONE.. BTW the only reason it got one star is because I had to pick at least one in order to get this review through. That PS is horrible, filthy not customer friendly.. I moved into town and arrived at Public Storage #25749 on Crenshaw with the things I couldn't get into my condo at closing time. I applaud the business manner in which I was handled ~ Karen and Francine waited past closing time to make sure I was happy. I am giving 4 stars for the facility only because most units do not have in-unit lighting. I am happy to say Karen and Francine worked with me until they found a lighted unit...though larger than i wanted... that's what i rented! Their move-out policy is horrible and should be changed. I was paying for a storage unit for my aunt. When it came time to close out the storage unit as of last week as she no longer needed to continue renting it, I was not able to get a partial refund just because it's month-to-month and that we did not move out or give notice before the end of the month. Total $95.00 loss just because we vacated the unit early. I should contact my credit card company to dispute it. read more
