If I could give zero stars I would. Just left there and had a horrible experience. It started with an add for car on Auto Trader that, I believe, never existed. When I showed up for an appointment to look at that specific car, it had just been sold (10 min ago). Ok, bummer... but I was fully prepared to buy a used car today, so I told the salesman my budget and that I was NOT interested in a new model. He fetched a NEW car to test drive that was almost $6k above my budget (before tax & license). I declined to take the test drive and reiterated my firm budget. While I waited the sales manager came to me and said "we'll make the numbers work"... really? You're going to come down $6K? Not likely. They could another car, we looked and it was nice but still $3K above the budget. I gave it a drive. When done I, again, told him my budget and I don't want to waste our time if it won't work. He said, "let me try." Ok... What he presented was insulting. He didn't come off the price at all and the out-the-door price was over $8k above my budget! I lost my shit and stormed out. As I was starting my car in the lot he ran to my window and asked "what can I do to earn your business?" Really dude? Can't believe the lack of listening skills. I thought car dealerships would have evolved away from this old-school type of operation... guess not. read more

We just got a survey from these guys, here was my reply: "It seemed like we were putting the service guy out by just showing up. I came in after working a 12-hour overnight shift. There were other places we would have rather been ourselves, but my car was broken. The first service guy seemed bothered that we started to sit in front of his desk. He sent us over to Subaru man, who was bothered that he had to clean off his desk in order to help us out. Then he seemed hesitant to honor the coupons that we got off of your website. Really? Here's a little hint to keep repeat customers: throw them a bone. Most families in the this country nowadays are unable to absorb a $1,000 emergency. My wife's Jeep dealer does a complete check on everything, even fixes tires for free when she goes in for an oil change. They offer her specials that transfer to other dealerships all over the country. Even our Firestone guy goes online to find a way to reduce our costs. Wincing when we pull out a coupon? If that's gonna be the case, then don't put the stuff out there. It's bad enough to go in there tired, but then to be treated as if we were trying to pull a fast one on you guys... So yeah... never again. Are your service staff merely sales people or did they start out turning wrenches first? Hopefully it's the latter, but you'd never know it by walking into that place. Don't call us. Good luck." I have experienced no benefits for paying extra at this dealer. I have a high-mileage Subaru with a brand new engine. They called me after my first oil change and asked me if I wanted to replace it. And then they called again... and again. Stay away. Stay far away. read more

My husband and I have two Subaru leases, a 17' Legacy and a 17' Outback. We are new to Arizona and took the Legacy to Camelback for maintenance. The gentleman advised we should change the cabin air filter, at a cost of $89.95. We declined to have this taken care of at this bizarre cost. I have researched other dealerships for maintenance closer to home, Cottonwood, and discovered an average of $39.95 for cabin filter change. This is a far cry from Camelback Subaru. However, since we are both men and can do basic maintenance, we decided to go to the local parts store and obtain cabin air filters at a cost of less than $39.95 for both and took the few minutes to change them at home. I have to say I fell that Camelback is only after the greenback dollar and could care less about anything else. I am completely disappointed and to have a service charge gouge like this is unacceptable. When our leases are due, we will not be going with Subaru based upon such insane price inflation for no apparent reason. read more

If you are looking to purchase a Subaru, or have yours serviced, then stay clear of this nightmare of a so called dealership. The are dishonest and extremely bad. The service department service advisor, Dayna Bourassa seams like a zombie, you can explain to him the problem with your car, and he will make a appointment for you to have your car serviced, and not order the part needed, and he will let you to believe that the job will take a short time, and then on the day of your service appointment he will tell you that the job takes a day and a half to be done. He will never even give you a I am sorry for the miss understanding. He could care less about you. I went to AutoNation Subaru and they tell me the job will take about 2 hours to compleat and order the part right away, and offer you coffee, water and fresh donuts. A 360* Difference! You are best to go to another dealership that cares about you. read more

I sincerely wish I had read the reviews and done my homework before buying a car here. I purchased my Volkswagon Jetta from here almost 2 years ago (I know- buying a Jetta from a Subaru dealer??) When I walked in I knew what I wanted- a white Subaru Forrester. I was just out of college and had a good job and some savings that I was ready to put down. First, the sales person directed me to the used car guy on a lot nearby. (I think they're all related) For the life of me I couldn't figure out why he took me there. My mom and I were there together and when we walked in to this used car guy he was disgusting- he was using chewing tobacco and wanted to talk about my credit in front of 4-5 other people (employees??) there. When I told him I wasn't comfortable with how this was going he told me this was how he ran his shop and I could deal with it. I looked back at the first guy who took us over there (sales person from the original Camelback Volkswagen place) and said I'm not doing this and walked out. He was sooooo apologetic and wanted to help us so we said fine- but we're doing it on your lot. Fast forward 3 hours and I had purchased a 2010 used Volkswagen Jetta. I didn't even test drive a Forrester. I know I was swindled but unfortunately I was too dumb at the time to notice it. Luckily, I freaking love my Jetta so I'm not having buyers remorse, just wished that I had been able to look at the Forrester. The reason that I'm prompted to write this review now is because I still get promotional emails from them and it's extremely unnecessary. I moved out of state and am just not their target market anymore. First, I unsubscribed using the button on the bottom of the email. (That was about 3 months ago.) Then, after getting another email about 2 months ago I called to complain. I talked to a man in the service department (I have no idea why it went there) and he agreed to take me off the list. Finally, I got one more promotional email this week and being frustrated that they weren't respecting my right to unsubscribe I looked up the CAN-SPAM laws- and they were indeed breaking the law. I called and had to leave a voicemail in customer service - when she called me back (and left me a voicemail) she said that she would indeed take me off of the promotional email list. I've had a very frustrating experience with them and am not convinced I would return. read more

Good Guys Finish Last at Camelback Subaru...... My husband had a less than positive experience at Camelback Subaru. He requested a quote over the phone on a new car. He then made arrangements to come by to get a quote on a trade-in in order to finalize the deal. After he arrived he was told that--despite promises to the contrary--they didn't have the car in stock. That probably should have clued him into the fact that this was not going to go well. However, he is a nice guy so he hung in there after being promised that they would locate the model he wanted at another dealership. Things got worse. After agreeing on a price for a trade-in he was then told that the price he was given over the phone already included a trade-in amount even though he had specifically said that he would only discuss a trade-in after they saw his car. As such, the price was way too high. He never would have made the 40 minute trip to the dealership had he known the truth. Final score: good guys 0 and bad guys 1. DON"T LET CAMELBACK SUBARU MAKE A LOSER OUT OF YOU. read more

After visiting camelback subaru they wouldn't stop calling me. I told them my pricing requirements and even sent them links to the two cars I was looking at. I said if they could meet their price I would buy from them. (I even said that I understand that through a dealer I would have to pay tax, but the benefit of buying from a dealer was worth it to me to pay a bit more out of pocket). They said I HAD to come down to be in person to see the deal. When I got there, no deal had been put together. They mad up some numbers no where near where I had been promised they'd be and so I left. I bought one of the cars from Craigslist the next weekend. I still get calls from the salesmen even though I told them I already bought a car. After a few weeks they finally stopped. Now, I went onto Camelback Subaru PARTS department website to inquire about the price for a Subaru part. I input my information and requested a PARTS quote. That was 7 days ago. I have not received the parts department quote, but I have been receiving calls from salesmen again. That will teach me to ever deal with this dealership again. What a pain in the ass! read more

I arranged the purchase of a new Subaru Forester for my mom and received the best deal, by far, at Camelback Subaru. The facility is great and the sales staff professional. No strong-arm tactics and they gave a very good deal on our trade. Check them out! read more

My car went in for an ac service under warranty in august of 2017, the work was performed and O-rings were replaced. I paid my $100 deductable, I didn't use my ac much over the winter and in the spring I began using my ac and noticed it blowing warm again. I brought my car into the dealership and they replaced the same O-rings a second time. This time stating "the incorrect O-rings were replaced" supposedly. A month later my ac began blowing warm again. Same diagnosis and they replaced the O-rings, stating it was their fault they incorrectly installed the o-rings. This time my ac lasted less then a week. I brought my car back and this time demanded they keep my car and find the actual problem. They replaced the expansion valve this time and made me pay my $100 deductible a second time even though it was for the same exact concern that they mis diagnosed 3 times. I will never do any business with camelback Subaru, and I will never bring my Subaru back ever again to them. read more

I used to take my car there for service and repairs with no issues at all for few times, but now not anymore! I won't be back again.

I have asked SEVERAL times to be taken off the mailing/calling list. I have spoken to MULTIPLE sales people telling them I already bought a new vehicle from someone else and that I do not want to be contacted again and they LIED and said I was taken off the contact list because I am still be contacted. I received another email yesterday and said that if I do not get taken off the mailing list I would leave a negative review and I GOT ANOTHER EMAIL TODAY. PLEASE take me off your list. read more

My wife picked out a 2018 Forester. She spent 4-6 hrs at the dealership doing paperwork and stuff. Couldn't drive home with the car that day for whatever reason. I went with her to pick up her new ride. When the tech brought the car out from the service garage, i noticed a small scratch just under the license plate. I noticed it from inside the office we were waiting. i immediately pointed out the scratch, it was not there when we did our initial inspection. We decided we wanted another new vehicle, we weren't comfortable settling for a scratched paint job. This turned into a shit show. As soon as we told them we wanted another vehicle, their attitudes changed quickly. Not in a good way. The next vehicle they brought us didn't have the roof racks like we negotiated. They kept the new unscratched Forester for 3-days before letting us know they could not install the roof racks. So onto the 3rd vehicle, by this time we were not getting any politeness that is overwhelmingly present during initial visit. They made us feel like we were a very sharp thorn in their side. My wife actually broke into tears at one point. Fucking tears trying to purchase a new vehicle. They are a terrible dealership with terrible management. Stay far away from this place! Subaru's are great cars, but this place will suck the fun right out of your experience. -shannon- read more

I just wrote this review, but I didn't save it, so I'm trying again... What an insane experience! I offered to pay what they offered online for the car ($25k) and asked for $9k for my honda accord with 75,000 miles. I expected to get negotiated down to say $6. Mr. Sales Manager came out and said that in fact they would not negotiate below $28,000 and offered me $1,000 for my trade in. They told me our offers were too far apart. So if you want a car from them, look at the online price and add $5,000 and ignore the value of your trade in. I would have paid a good price for that car, but I'll pay someone else now. read more

This review is for the Subaru service department. From my experience, these guys are excellent! Took my 09 Impreza for a timing belt replacement and an oil change. Brian helped with a loaner car for me to use while they serviced my car. He's a super nice guy and always listens to your needs. I have to give a shout out to Kyle, he was the person I dealt with before and a good man. These are really good people and won't try to sell you something you don't need. I highly recommend them for all your Subaru needs. Thanks again Camelback Subaru! read more

It's so hard to find good service for my Subaru. I was in because my radiator blew. It was under warranty, so they replaced it, but left a big mess of green coolant all over my engine, which was clean before the radiator blew. They didn't bother to hose it off before they gave it back to me. They also failed to replace an engine bolt when putting the engine parts back together. I've been driving around for nearly 2 months without the bolt that holds the engine cover in place. So I learned to always check the car myself before driving away. read more

Can't get rid of robocalls from the Service Department I bought my Subaru in 2010 and was reasonably satisfied with the transaction, though it took 3 days to get the car I wanted. Everyone was polite, which I attribute to the fact that I was buying through Costco. They sent me coupons for the first couple of maintenance intervals, which I appreciated. Then, instead of a coupon, I started getting automated phone calls reminding me that it was time to get the car serviced. This was especially bad after the 30,000 mile service, because it's an expensive one. I got it done for $400 at Gab's (all genuine Subaru parts) instead of $600 at Camelback Subaru. I told them it had been done and asked them to have me taken off the robocall list. They didn't. It's not every day but it's often enough to be annoying. Starts to feel like harassment after awhile. read more

First time buying a car. Let's be honest buying a car seems "fun" but it is NEVER fun. We shopped around for a whole at a few different dealers on Camelback. It was horrible. What I loved about my experience with Subaru is that I was not hassled once so ever. I am not sure if it's just Charles Nunez but he was fantastic! He simply just have us information about buying the car and our different options. He didn't pressure is to ever buy that day and went out of his way to accommodate us. read more

The customer service I received at Camelback Subaru is leaps and bounds beyond any other experience I have had at dealerships. From Karina, to Frank the Sales Manager, and Alex the finance manager, the patience and attention to my needs was superb. We were able to quickly come to a deal. I felt no pressure whatsoever to purchase a vehicle from them. And I appreciated that more than anything. I have had many car buying experiences in my life. I had been to a few Subaru dealerships before I went to camelback and this was by far the best dealership experience I have had. Todd was wonderful and the whole team went out of their way to be accommodating and not pushy at all. Service department is awesome! Everyone that's taken care of us has been fantastic! Sales department is obnoxious. YOU CAN'T HAVE MY CAR! I'll come to you if I want a new one! Stop harassing us. Telling us my 2009 Subaru is old? Isn't one of the premises of a whole ad campaign that you can own & love your Subaru forever! I don't even have 100k miles on mine. When the time comes that I might want to upgrade, your incessant calls aren't helping the case. Also, the survey that only takes you to a place to write a "review" on yelp or google, dammnit! Lol, obviously I'm overly annoyed by these things. But still. Wish I could review the sales & service separately :-P Keep up the awesome work service department! read more

Kyle has since left Camelback Subaru Truly was bummed at my most recent oil change, but meh... change is inevitable.

I would 100% highly recommend this car dealership to anyone, they did a exceptional job and the customer service it AMAZING. I was helped by Kaden and he was so patient with me, I probably took close to five hours to pick a car just because I'm a very indecisive person and he even waited for me to go get food and come back because I forgot to eat breakfast. Buying a car can be very stressful and they made it as least stressful as they possibly could. A lot of dealerships are very pushy too and they were not at all, everyone was just so kind and genuinely wanted what was best for they're customer even if it meant going to a different dealership if they didn't have something that fit all your needs. I had to go in a week later to sign some paper (my fault I had to go back in, not theirs) and Kaden took my car to get detailed up again while I was there just to be nice. The customer service is just above and beyond wonderful, if you get the chance to goto this dealership do it, and see Kaden while you are there! P.s. check out the finance guys relaxing sand ball thing, it's helps while you sign your life away to a car. read more

After going to a few dealerships and test driving several vehicles before being so frustrated I had to leave without making a purchase, Subaru was an extremely refreshing change of pace. James the salesman was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. He did not once make me feel pressured into purchasing a vehicle. I ended up leaving with a 2012 subaru impreza. Regina was fantastic and did not give me any issues for wanting to finance through my own bank, Wells Fargo. In and out in a relatively short time, great customer service--honest and friendly. I bought my Subaru Impreza in 2015 at this dealership and when I did, they told me that the tires need nitrogen because all-wheel-drive vehicles need very precise pressure due to the synchronization and nitrogen is less susceptible to pressure fluctuation from temperature fluctuation (this is evidently debatable from what I've found online). The last couple of years I've been coming to camelback Subaru when my pressure gets low. 2 weeks ago I came in and an employee named Abel says "we don't do nitrogen". Dumbfounded, I asked for clarification and he just said they don't do it. I told him I'd been there several times for nitrogen and this was the first I've heard that. He said the service department has probably just been telling me they're inflating with nitrogen but they're actually just using regular air. I pretty much just stared at him with my mouth open when he probably realized he said something he shouldn't have and decided to ask his manager or somebody who actually knew what they were talking about. Turns out, the VW dealership next door has nitrogen and they're under the same ownership so they just use theirs. Then in attempt to save face or something he says "they've still probably just been putting air instead of nitrogen in your tires". I'm frustrated with this conversation and don't see why he thinks it's necessary to be abrasive just because he didn't know how to get some nitrogen, but I'm at least happy that I'm not crazy and they're putting nitrogen in the tires. Anyway, I'm driving home and I hear a clicking coming from the back of my car but think little of it, until a few days later I get a low tire pressure warning! I go back to the dealership and unfortunately Abel (lol, ironic name) is working again that day. He immediately gets confrontational when I mention tires and nitrogen and just keeps saying "i told you we don't have nitrogen". Again frustrated, I tell him to just fill it up with something so I can be on my way, but wanted to know if I should just go to the VW dealership going forward. Instead of answering he just says the low pressure is probably not at all related to nitrogen vs air, but because I have a nail in my tire (omenous). Turns out, I do have a nail in my tire, which I'll just assume is a coincidence. He asks if I wanted to get a new tire and I said I'd just go back to Discount tire because it's under warranty and I just got them a couple months ago. Sensing an opportunity to be patronizing and condescending, Abel asks if i insisted with discount tire that they use nitrogen when I got new tires. YOU GUYS ARE THE ONES THAT TOLD ME I NEED NITROGEN! IM JUST DOING WHAT TOU SAID! I told him I didn't and with a shitty grin he tells me "make sure you ask them if they have nitrogen" then hands me my keys. What an asshole. I'll never go back. read more

My wife and I wanted to purchase a 2016 Subaru Forester and filed out the Costco Auto Program thing from the Costco website to purchase this car. It came back and directed us to Camelback Subaru. First, they aren't prompt at contacting us and it took 2 days to even get anyone on the phone who could discuss purchasing this car. Second, the Costco Auto Program is somewhat of a scam as it got Camelback Subaru stuck on offering us a car at a very high price. We have a friend who bought a similar 2016 Subaru Forester a month earlier (at another dealership) for $1,500 less than the Costco Auto Program Price. Our hope was that we could do some of the price negotiations with Camelback Subaru before driving across town to make a visit since we knew of the exact vehicle we wanted. Unfortunately, Camelback Subaru does no negotiation via phone or email. They took the position that the Costco price was take it or leave it, even when we stated we don't want to buy under the Costco program. Anyway, we did buy our 2016 Subaru Forester, but from another dealership that was willing to negotiate price with us. read more

Great experience with Adam (salesman), Jeff (manager), and Scott (finance manager). I purchased a Certified Subaru Outback. Negotiated a great price over the phone (I live in CA) without high pressure, tricks/games, or endless negotiating rounds. Arrived at the dealership and found the car was just as expected from their website photos and drove great. It was immaculately cleaned (except the rear sink drink holder which they took care of immediately). The paperwork was ready and all the costs were exactly what I expected. Scott arranged excellent financing rates and even knocked a little off our already agreed-to price. He went over the extended warranty programs but wasn't super-pushy selling them (I ended up declining them). Even though I live in CA, I'll keep Camelback in mind for my next car. read more
