Paul Valentino gave me the most amazing experience. He was extremely patient and friendly, recognizing that this was my first new card buying experience-he treated me with extra special care. The car itself is beautiful and has been a dream car for a few years, I just wasn't ready for the price. Paul was able to give me the best deal possible, just to keep my business and make me happy and comfortable with what I could afford. Everyone else (including Tully---so sweet and just a great person!) was very friendly, welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. They also let me ring the gong twice since I didn't get the first time on video lol. I would highly recommend this dealership for great customer service and awesome pricing-Paul will beat anyone's pricing and have a positive fun attitude with each conversation you have. read more

Was in for some routine maintenance and some work on the coolant system. There was a bit of confusion on which coolant the mechanic had put back in my vehicle, upon some negotiating the service manager agreed to make it right and flushed the entire coolant system as a result. Overall satisfied with the service and staff here. Would recommend read more

Everything was very relaxed from the start. I knew the car I wanted, and they worked with me on a deal without any of the shady tactics I've experienced with other dealers in the past. The price we agreed to was the price when I signed the final contract. Kory, Van, Tu and Tully were really friendly and professional throughout the process. Next time I'm in the market, I'll definitely reach out to see if they have something I'm interested in. read more

Yelp needs a NO-STAR rating for these clowns. In May 2017 I contacted Camelback Subaru because the AC in my '04 Forester had started blowing hot. Service guy Brian who we had dealt with in the past made an appointment for me. I brought the car in on May 30, 2017 at which time they replaced two o-rings and charged the AC system at a cost of $162.38. AC worked great again for awhile until it again started slowly blowing warmer again just as it had before. Obvious leak. Called Brian in Service and told him what was going on and he told me to bring it in again. The system had again lost its charge but they were unable to find a leak. They re-charged the system and told me to bring it in if it happened again. The AC worked great for the rest of the summer during the time I drove the car. Fast forward to April 2018 turn on AC and it is once again blowing hot. I called for Brian, but I was told that he no longer works there. So I made appt and brought the car in, at which time I was told that I needed a new AC compressor, new AC expansion valve, and evacuate and re-charge the system at a cost of almost $1700. I tried to explain to the new advisor about the history of the leaks and bringing it in twice both before and after they looked at the car, but he simply blew me off saying, "I don't know who Brian is, I had my 'master-tech' look at it and that's what he came up with." I took the car to another local AC shop and told them the history of the leaks/recharge at Camelback Subaru. He advised me that since the system ran 3 times for extended periods without an adequate charge (no fault of my own), the compressor was not lubricated properly causing the compressor failure. I called the service "manager" back at Camelback Subaru and told him what the other shop had said. He immediately had an attitude, and told me I could bring the car in to have them fix the issue at the cost of $1700 estimate I was given. I tried to explain to him the history as well as the visit to the other AC shop, but it was more than obvious he had no intention of helping me out. He told me that he would look into the problem via vehicle history and call me back. I never heard from him. It's obvious that some major changes have been made in the last year at Camelback Subaru as far as the people that work in the service dept, and with that change went the great service we used to get there. I come from a big family of Subaru owners. I've told my family and friends who own Subs to go elsewhere for their service. read more

Always friendly staff, very helpful service and prompt assistance. I always get my car service here and I've never had a problem.

We were out-of-towners with a car that just had almost all of the dash warning lights come on. 600-miles from home and what do you do. Camelback Subaru Service Department (specifically Michael) got the car repaired and back on the road in about 2-hours. Great job Camelback Subaru...you saved us It seams like the ratings for this facility are all over the board....ask for Michael....he took good care of usl! read more

Make sure you get any quotes on paper. After we were quoted one price for their service, they almost doubled the price on completion. Not honest at all. Buyer beware, it's about money. read more

I didn't take too much time to read other reviews. I am assuming the low star rating is for the sales department? I did not buy my car at this location, so I cannot speak to the sales department. However, my car has had a few safety recalls over the last two years. I have always been wary of Dealership Service Departments. I had been warned growing up that they were over priced, pushy, and might try to trick me into unnecessary services. Well, when a service recall happens, you have no choice but to take your car to the dealer service center. The guys at this location are awesome. I felt like my car was in great hands each time I brought my car in. I think I typically speak to the same guy... I feel awful for forgetting his name, but for identification purposes he has a few Boba Fett tattoos. He is an excellent communicator. I have started having basic maintenance done at this location in addition to repairs. He always explains the maintenance that was done or needs to be done, in a way that helps me understand without being condescending. Most recently we took my car in for a recall, oil change, and my driver window stopped working. I was really impressed with how the service worked this time around (maybe it has always worked like this and I didn't remember). I received an email from the shop that broke down the items they felt needed to be repaired, the cost, and the severity of those issues. This allowed me to make an educated decision on what I could afford to take care of and what I could hold off on. I will continue to bring my car to this location. read more

This review is for the service department. I bought a 2016 Subaru STI (not from Camelback Subaru) but I've brought it here for service. Brandon Pederson is a world class Service Consultant. Extremely professional service and he has been great with communication. I appreciate the straight forward approach and Brandon always lets me know exactly what's going on with my car and the service it will need. They've always been able to call a Lyft for me to get to work while my car is being worked on and then called me a Lyft to bring me back after my car was finished. Very convenient! Thanks to everyone at Camelback Subaru, appreciate you guys. read more

I would rate this unethical, dishonest business 0 stars if I was able to. I took my car in for recall work and they gave me a free inspection. The mechanic told me my brake fluid was black and full of particles. LIE! It had just been changed a couple months before and still looked new. They also wanted to replace both my cabin and engine air filters for $80 over the average cost. read more

I went to Camelback Subaru in late August 2019, spoke with a Sales Manager by phone first, then I was told that the price I was quoted for a new station wagon was wrong, as the Sales Manager was "new, and did not know what he was saying." The prices were raised, and after a $5,000 deposit was made, the following paperwork somehow omitted the $5,000, and charged us for $5,000 again, plus the Finance Manager added in a $2,000 Extended Warranty fee, which we said we did not want. I wrote to the General Manager, and the GM decided that the best way to handle my deep concerns would be to ignore my email. This Subaru dealership has to be one of the worst in the United States. We cancelled our order, and then had to wait a 3-week processing time in order to have the $5,000 returned to us. Go elsewhere. This is nothing but bad news. read more

Garbage of a place frank galtieri should be fired, didn't sell a single car for the 4 hours I was there and we walked away as well rates to high even for solid credit and worst part is they act like they didn't need the sale for Memorial Day never going back Update came back to check out an Impreza they wanted 30k for it which is ridiculous to begin with. Advise them we can do 24k due to market rate and research sales dude laughed acting like he didn't need the sale. Lol okay whatever man. Before we were leaving he went to frank about the offer and said "get them the fuck out of here" we have the Snapchat video of the recording too which is even funnier because the news station and everyone else on here will see that. I will never go back for a vehicle here ever again. You want a decent deal go see certified Benz and Beemer they have quite a view vehicles as well as Subaru's and don't screw you. Lol good luck to you camelback Subaru you guys are going out of business and I can't wait read more

Went there to sell my old Subaru and I worked with Two gentleman who I genuinely liked, unfortunately their ringleader was the real problem. Told both of them I was strictly selling my car not looking for a trade in. They appraised it for $500. Told me the offer was good today, tomorrow, didn't matter. Went and got my title and a drink to celebrate Susan's life( Susan the Subaru) and returned in an hour. When i got back they appraised the car again and magically forgot the conversation we had where I wasn't looking for a trade in and how the offer was good today, tomorrow, whenever. They offered me $200 and said there was a miscommunication. Whatever, if they wanna run a clown show over there that's fine, I've never liked the circus. The best part was their ringleader over on the Volkswagen side said they could only offer me $200 because the most they or I could even get for it was $500. I drove 20 minutes to a different dealership where they said quote "We can't give you much, but how does $1,000 sound?" Now either this guy is brand new to appraising cars or he has a really comfy mattress because he sleeps fine at night trying to get over on people. I could sell the door off the car for $200. In any case, Susan thank you for your services and I'm glad i didn't leave you in the hands of that genius. read more

FANTASTIC DEALERSHIP. FANTASTIC PEOPLE. I'm shocked by all the 1 star reviews, but this is my own personal experience with them. I bought my first Subaru at this dealership, and am so happy I bought from Camelback Subaru in particular. Being new to the brand, I went in to the dealership wanting to educate myself on the WRX's performance and how it looked in person. First impressions of this dealership was definitely super welcoming, friendly, and not intimidating to someone who's just looking and not wanting to be pushed to buy at that exact moment. I really appreciated how when talking to my sales rep Todd, I was able to speak with full transparency and have a conversation on my current vehicle needs and budget. Couple months later, I was still in email contact with Todd and he would let me know when there was a new car in the lot that I would be interested in. I see a lot of reviews complain about the persistent phone calls, friendly tip- just leave an email! Several emails and 2 phone calls later, I was able to negotiate a price I wanted and left the dealership as a confident owner of a Subaru WRX. I was confident because I knew if I had any concerns, I was only a phone call away from great customer service and individual attention. Fast forward two years, Camelback Subaru kept their promise of "having my back" whenever I had a question or needed maintenance on my car. For example today, on a busy Saturday, I purchased wheel locks from the parts dept and the services department went above and beyond by installing them for me for free despite having tons of other cars to attend to. That's great service, and frequent acts like these are why I'm so happy with this dealership. In summary: Great customer service goes a long way here! read more

I leased a new Crosstrek from this dealership in November of 2016. I was satisfied with the vehicle in many ways, but the horsepower left something to be desired. I called the dealership last month to see if there was any way to upgrade my vehicle for one with more horsepower. I was very clear that I did not want to raise my payment and that i was simply calling to explore my options as an existing Subaru customer. The man I spoke with on the phone (Dale) assured me that "there are always options for an existing Subaru customer" and that if I came in to discuss these options, I would be taken care of. I met with Dale a few days later to discuss options. When I first arrived at the dealership I, again, reiterated that I was not interested in raising my monthly lease payment by any more than $20/month and that I had already put down $7,000 on my car 6 months ago - so I did not have any type of down payment. Dale, still, assured me that there were "options". Long story short, I spent 2 and a half hours at the dealership speaking with Dale, test driving a car, and waiting on Dale to figure out options before I was presented with an offer for the dealership to buy me out of my lease and tack on a new car payment for $200 MORE than my current lease payment. Needless to say, I walked out very unhappy. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN UP FRONT THAT THERE WERE NO OPTIONS! Instead he wasted nearly 3 hours of my time. I WAS NOT TRYING TO BUY A NEW CAR AND TACK ON TO MY PAYMENT, AND WAS CLEAR FROM THE JUMP. I am not upset by the dealership not being able to accommodate my request to swap the cars for the same payment. I AM upset by the dealership wasting 2 and a half hours of my time, not being upfront with what the options were, and attempting to "pull one over on me" when it comes to purchasing a car. If Dale had been upfront with pricing and options on the phone - or when I got to the dealership that day - this all could have been avoided. Frankly, the entire experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will never be purchasing another Subaru again. In addition, I will be informing all of my family and friends about the lack of respect and customer service at your location that lead me to feel angry about the experience even a week later. I will be advising anyone who will listen that they are better off shopping elsewhere. read more

Awful dealership. Their price listed on autotrader and *their own* website is about 3k below msrp, which is what gets you in the door. Then after a test drive when it's time to look at numbers they want to go back to the now irrelevant msrp and negotiate from there. Additionally they charge about 3k for "dealer accessories"...which other dealers do window tint and nitrogen for about $400. So then by this point the out the door price is 10k above what THEY advertise their sales price as. Get out of here with that crap! You except a few grand for tax, fees, etc but certainly not 10 on an SUV of this price. We don't play games like this--there are more honest dealers that don't either so why would we give our business to a place like this? Additionally, we were looking at a brand new car with only 40 miles but it looks like it's been neglected just sitting on their lot. Filthy on the exterior and even under the hood, sticky crap all over the interior. We walked and had no trouble doing so, this is not the caliber of dealership I would ever feel good buying from. Looking at the other reviews here, clearly this isn't an isolated incident and is how they do business. You would think management might take a gander at their reviews and decide to make some changes but I guess they're happy being the kind of dealership nobody wants to do business with. read more

NO NO NO !!! The reputation of this specific dealership precedes itself. I can't count how many people advised me to not use this dealership. The negative comments are extremely true. Unfortunately when I used my Truecar account for the 3rd time, this dealership was included in the "offers/lead generation". I have no issues with Truecar, however they farm out the leads to 5 or so dealerships. I could not exclude CAMELBACK SUBARU from receiving my lead and within a couple of minutes had numerous dealerships call me and emailing me. I quickly was reminded of the last time I contacted Camelback Subaru a few years ago and could not get them to STOP harassing me by phone and email. Ignorantly I thought, how could this dealership have not changes their pushy, harassing contact policy over the years. There is no way I will ever purchase a vehicle from this dealership. I have quite a few Subaru friends and they agreed, sharing almost the exact experiences they had when they contacted this dealership. Fast forward to this week, after blocking their calls for 2 weeks and requesting no calls, they sneakily are still calling from cell numbers and other numbers from the dealership. NO NO NO I do not want to have anymore call and absolutely would never purchase a car from CAMELBACK SUBARU. *******************BY THE WAY CAMELBACK SUBARU!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love my new 2020 OUTBACK and the dealership I purchased from was over the top kind and courteous! NOT pushy, annoying or sneaky and a great price, trust me I do my research. read more

Well my car is still there. I dropped it off at 8am and have not heard anything all day. I went back to talk to my advisor at 5pm nine hours later and he acted clueless, he then said he had no notes or anything in his system so he left to find the tech. He returned and stated (he guessed) the tech went home and we would figure it out in the morning. That's odd because I never stated keeping it overnight was acceptable. I bad been ignored all day. So there is no valid reason to keep it overnight. All this after his silence and unwillingness to talk to me when I dropped it off. So I walked 3 miles to get a ride home and it's what? 110°. Not sure how I'll get to work at 5am. He said he was sorry. BS. No offers for assistance and still no mention of routine maintenance or anything. Hopefully it gets fixed tomorrow. Not going back as the several hundred dollars I AND my warranty company are about to spend is all they are going to get. read more

I bought a 2020 Outback in February. It has one major fault that can't be remedied according to the dealer (who cared not) or the Subaru Corp (who does not even have a "complaint" access). The START/STOP "feature" is very distracting and dangerous. It can only be deactivated each time you start your car. Turn off the engine and it resets. To deactivate each time you start your car, you need to go thru a checklist of things to reset, like the auto hold feature. When you stop with the A/C on high and the engine turns off, A/C "dims" and the car shudders when it restarts. Very disturbing in tight traffic. This was installed to "beat" the gas consumption numbers (gain an extra tiny bit of miles) with the new engine in 2020. If you are thinking of buying this car (or other models which have it), test drive it a long time before buying. I am going to dump the car and get something else. read more

If you are looking for a new Subaru and just want to test drive a vehicle. Be prepared to provide your phone number and email before being able to so that they can blow up your phone and email. A valid driver's license isn't enough, "it's company policy" is what I was told. read more

Harassment starts with asking a few simple questions... My 9 month pregnant girlfriend and I stopped by to check out the Crosstrek, which we were interested in buying for our growing family. We met with Kris Patel from the sales dept. Keep in mind, we went in just to see the car and didn't even want to take it on a test drive (which he later talked us into). We made it very clear that we needed to look at competitive vehicles and make the right choice for our family. We also made very clear that if we chose the Crosstrek, we would call and then come in... Bottom line is... Do NOT give salesman Kris Patel your telephone number if you speak with him at the dealership. He will call you over and over. His newest trick is to call 3-4 times back to back. Thanks to Kris's borderline harassment of my family with phone calls, which he is now blocked from doing more of, we will NOT be purchasing a new Subaru from Camelback. Who in their right mind would think calling someone over 30 times would persuade them into buying a car from you? Kris must either have a quota of pregnant customers to harass or entirely too much time on his hands. read more

I am brutally honest when it comes to auto dealers and my purchasing experience so take this for what you will. I have purchased a number of cars in my life and I always judge a dealership by the people, the experience, and the deal. I purchased an STI here last week. The People: The sales people are nicer than your average dealership and the pressure is probably low to average. I never felt uncomfortable or like I was anything other than a car buyer (though more on that later). Employees passing by would even stop and chat. The only person I wasn't all that thrilled with was the manager (I think he was the manager) who was brought in to talk me into being ok with all the add ons. NY/NJ accent. He was nice enough but it was the typical sales pitches and likely embellishments ("it costs me this much and it's really for your protection...") to get me to sign. B+ on the people. The Experience: Overall pretty typical. I actually went here by mistake. I was supposed to go AutoNation Subaru but I mixed up the addresses. As most car buyers do, I went in knowing what I wanted and got talked up into taking something else. I'm not terribly disappointed as I love the car but there's always that lingering spite of buying something you don't think was worth it. More on that in the deal section. We had to go back and forth a number of times on price because I had a dam good quote in writing from AutoNation. I was about to leave twice and of course they kept making me offers. Some insulting, others more reasonable. After the deal was said and done, the rest of the finance process was not bad. The Deal: So here's the thing. Camelback Subaru...and I'm guessing a lot of other dealers put a bunch of dealer add ons and stuff that is WAY over priced and generally not worth it. Tint? Fine, that was only about $50 more than aftermarket but $600 for paint protection that I have no choice in rejecting? Door and handle guards for another $600? You can find them on Amazon for under $10!!! ZakTek? You can get 3 years of applications/coverage for $180 ($30/application every 6mo). Here's the thing, you want to sell all this overpriced stuff to people, give them a choice and let them know they have a choice! Hiding the truth is just as bad as lying to make a buck. As far as the price of the car...typical markup I guess. Well over what Subaru advertises online and in media. Just know that you can easily get them down by walking out. Never go look at cars thinking you are going to walk out the door with one. Always go in with the idea that you will buy one next week. Don't let the draw of driving away NOW cost you a few thousand. Do research and have quotes ready. Hard numbers for the base price of the cars you want, the car you are trading in, and if possible, an offer from another dealer. Some tips: Talk your way out of paying for any of the extra stuff they put on the car without asking you first. You don't want it and don't need it. The tint in AZ is probably the only exception. The paint protection...hell no. You can get that cheaper aftermarket...and it's probably only a warranty they are selling you. You have no proof that they even put anything on the car. The door guards are 99% marked up. The ZakTek is about a 400% markup. Don't even bother. As far as the second round of negotiating (in the finance office) reject everything. The only possible thing you might want is the extended warranty but first, check your insurance company. Geico offers mechanical breakdown insurance on new cars for a whole lot cheaper. It costs me $16 every 6mo with a $250 deductible each time I use it. Way cheaper on a new vehicle than the $2000 plan the dealer wants you to buy (and finance so you are paying interest on it). It's also an exclusionary policy so it covers almost everything. Overall, if you can get them to keep their overpriced add ons, this is as good of a dealership as you will find. Car buying, sadly, is of the few purchase experiences that hasn't changed at all in decades. Everything is stacked against you. Know that going in and also know that 90% of what you hear in a dealership is a half truth at best. UPDATE: So a customer relations manager contacted me regarding my purchase and I explained all my concerns with the dealer package that I was forced to by. I explained that I was not happy at the value of the package and that I wanted at least a partial refund on the ZakTek and door guards. I was told that they would not work with me and that I was basically out of luck. Please do not purchase a vehicle from these people. Like all dealerships I have worked with, they rip you off with a nod and smile. read more

Deceptive salesmen. Will promise you anything you want as long as you initial a piece of paper to get the contract printed up. Lies & deceit even from the MANAGERS! Unbelievable that dealers are still legally able to function in this manner. Don't trust a word any of them have to say because your contract will not reflect your agreement. Be sure to read every single line. That is, if you even manage to sift through all the bullshit and get that far. I suggest taking your business elsewhere where honesty, customer business, and retention is actually valued. read more

"I would give this dealership a 0 star rating, if possible. I negotiated a deal for a new Subaru Ascent with a $1,000 deposit and signed contract (exact VIN# included). Three weeks later, while on the road for over 2 hours to Phoenix, ON THE WAY to pick up the new car, a dealership representative (Frank Galtieri) called and said the price had changed/increased by $4,000. Frank said I could pay full MSRP for the vehicle or the contract was being voided by Camelback. When I questioned the reason, I was told to drive safely and hung up on. I was also told to "be sure and spell my name right" by Mr. G.A.L.T.I.E.R.I. when I asked for Management and apparently, he IS the management. I have never been treated so rudely and disrespected; this call was awful. I turned around and drove home without the new car I thought I'd purchased. The originally helpful salesperson Gabe cannot be reached now via phone or text. Buyer beware--buy a car somewhere else. Camelcack Subaru doesn't honor their signed contracts. This was the absolute worst experience!! Nicole (service department) treated me like I was an idiot since I walked in. she accused me of doing something I didn't and then after they wasted my time for 6 hours (2 days) they they tried to make me believe I needed a whole new seat, when the issue was 100% my seatbelt, so many other things happened i can't even describe. And the manager even said they didn't even know if it was for sure the seatbelt 2 days after Nicole tried to make me believe it. A joke and when I asked to speak to manager she said no and that I should call corporate. Then I asked again she left for 15 minutes to obviously tell her joke of a manager her side of the story and as I walk in his office he doesn't believe anything I say and treats me also like I was an idiot (Chris) my whole family is in the car business and I've never ever seen this treatment in my life, to anyone, and at the end of the day my car wasn't fixed and the manager was just defending Nicole the whole time even though I was complaining about the treatment towards me. This dealership is well run, but Chris (manager) and Nicole (service) definitely need a crash course on how to speak to people. read more

I will never step foot in this dealer again. I was ripped off by the service department and bullied, pressured and treated like I could be manipulated into anything because I was a woman. I took my 2004 Outback in for service for a knocking noise in the front and some squeaking in the rear. I was told that I needed struts and tie rods - $1250. When I drove the car home after having the service done, the exact noises were still there. I called the service department and brought it back in. They had the tech that worked on the car test drive it with me and he heard both noises before we were out of the parking lot and told me that he knew exactly what they were. My first question - did he not drive the car after he completed the service? I was told that they would look at it and let me know. I soon received a phone call explaining how bad my axels and sway bar were and that it would be $1800 to repair both. My second question - why does the paperwork that I was given about the extensive diagnostic that was done the day before show that the axels are not in need of repair? Either they never inspected the car once they saw that there was an issue with the struts, they never drove it after the service to make sure that the problem was fixed, or they knew everything that was wrong and realized that I wouldn't want to spend over $4000 to fix this car. I never have been able to get any kind of answer on what happened. I said no to the additional service and asked what could be done about refunding my money on the original service that did not fix the problem. When I got to the dealership to pick up my car I was directed to the sales department to see what they could do for me. I told them that I needed a payment around $150 and that I was interested in leasing a Crosstrek. The sales guy immediately got out the paperwork to run my credit and write up a deal. Whoa! Hold on, I just need to see if I can afford the car I want and I want a refund on that un-necessary service. They came back with a $392 payment, which I said was not $150. They went back and after a while said that they had something that I should be happy with - it was in the $200s. He then pushed the piece of paper in front of me that said my payment would be $297 . . . how is that remotely $200?!? I was never given a clear answer on what I was getting for my trade, how much the car was, or what they were going to do about refunding me my money. At this point I told them that I wasn't doing a deal right now and I needed to think about my options. The finance manager told me I should go home and meditate since I was so upset. I seriously doubt that he would have said that if I were a man. I emailed the general manager with my concerns and to date have gotten no response whatsoever from him. I have gotten about 30 calls and emails from the sales guy wanting to tell me about the great incentives they have. So obviously management doesn't care if the service and sales people are out scamming and pressuring customers. I finally went to Subaru America and they agreed to give me $1000 as a customer loyalty reward if I purchased a new vehicle. I ended up leasing an Impreza from The Subaru Superstore in Chandler. The very first time I asked for a payment of $169 I was presented with a deal that was $167. It included the price of the car, the amount I would need to put down, all of the other taxes and fees, and the amount that I was getting for my trade. He even showed me another Impreza that was a little lower in price so that I would have less up front if I couldn't afford the higher deposit. After explaining my situation with Camelback he contacted Subaru and got them to increase the amount of my loyalty reward to the full $1250 that I had spent on the service. He even suggested that I should try to sell my car for more money than the trade in value(which I did and got twice the trade in value). So if you want a really great experience buying a car go to the SUBARU SUPERSTORE IN CHANDLER, and stay away from Camelback Subaru! read more

This review is for the service department for Camelback Subaru. First of all I decided to switch to Camelback Subaru for the Servicing of my vehicle after suffering through bad service and attitudes with certain advisors etc. at the Subaru Superstore in Gilbert. Camelback Subaru is a good drive for me from my home in the East Valley and after having a chance to have my vehicle serviced in the Subaru side of the business I am very pleased with the experience and outcome. Camelback Subaru Service Department did a number of things right: 1. VERY courteous service advisor (KS) who explained options for servicing at Camelback Subaru when i called to check services after the bad experience with the service department at Subaru Superstore 2. Received a call from service scheduling 1 day prior to my appt to confirm my scheduled appt AND to confirm that loaner car was available per my request!!! (If the Subaru Superstore would learn to handle a small detail like this they would be able to hold onto customers) 3. Very courteous and efficient drop off of my vehicle and pick up of loaner. My Service advisor KS was really cool and was able to get all my info from Subaru Superstore and my warranty info input into Camelback system quickly. 4. Received status update next morning from KS on service and was given option of waiting for a part for my vehicle and or keeping loaner and returning when part and vehicle were available and installed. 5. It took a few days for the part to arrive due to having to be ordered from Subaru but KS gave me 2 more calls during this time to keep me abreast of status 6. When vehicle was ready, KS spent some time reviewing repairs, reviewing what my warranty covered (it covered all repairs which was cool!) and reviewing other inspection results from vehicle. A review of inspection results only occurred once (out of 4 or 5 service appts) during time I was at other dealer. Courtesy and appreciation of me as a customer was very evident during the entire process for my vehicle servicing and was night and day different from Subaru SuperStore. Subaru after all only has 2.7 percent market share (vs 7.9% for Nissan/Infiniti or 14.4% for Toyota/Lexus) in the US thus you would think that all Subaru service departments would value their customers since there are so few of us...well some do..some dont.... read more

Run away! Do not go to this dealership. There are several other dealerships with a higher level of integrity and ethics then this place. I received a call from the dealership along with several others based on an online request I submitted. Here is my experience with Camelback Subaru: I visit with one of their sales managers he advises me that there are a few vehicles available that meet my criteria. Wonderful let's sit and discuss pricing. I ask him again are you sure you have this vehicle? They say yes we spend over an hour going over pricing, and come to a fair price. I agree to purchase and the manager heads back to get the paperwork, after 20min he comes back and says I have some good news and some bad news. The good we came to an agreeable price, the bad we do not have the vehicle available nor can we get it. Ok, so I ask they stay in touch and let me know when they get a vehicle. I receive a call a few days later. They have great news they have one in stock just off the truck. I am so excited I say great what needs to be done? All they need is a deposit and we are good to go. Sounds good everything else is figured out here is my card info for deposit. They thank me and say your car will be waiting for you. The next day I receive a call stating that they don't know what happens to original quotes and paperwork but this car is actually going to be 4000 more. Complete bait and switch unethical and misleading. Read these reviews and do yourself a favor stay away! There are several other dealers in the valley that are more trustworthy. read more

BEWARE for the Sales Managers! After talking the price down for a car I then asked about my trade... That's when tables turned when I didn't tell them how much I owed on it since I was just interested on how much they would give me on my trade as I was doing my own financing. They pretty much told me to leave since I wasn't budging. So much for a good buying experience... Got a great deal on my dream car with great customer service in Chandler. read more

Dishonest, Deceitful, Delusional Deceptive... I accompanied my wife to look for a newer/used car. As expected, we were approached by a salesman within 30 second of walking onto the lot. My wife informed the sales man that she had been pre-approved for a 20K loan at 1.9% interest through her credit union. We proceeded to test drive a 2013 Subaru Outback with 50+ thousand miles, a dented front fender, back seat worn down to the last fibers, missing buttons on the dash and the driver side mirror still had paint on the surface from an previous accident. The car also smelled like an animal shelter. They assured us that all of these issues would be taken care of after we purchased the car... The sales man also told us before our test drive that the car was priced at $18,000.00. Sounded great we thought! You can imagine our surprise when he approached us after the test drive with paper in hand, and a printed break down of all the additional costs amounting to a total amount of $30,000.00. He then shows us our monthly payment calculated at 14% interest. (We've already informed him that we have funding @ 1.9% and a $5000.00 cash down) Do we look retarded? How do we start at $18,0000 prior to a test drive and the sales team's best offer out the door is $30,000.00? Another hour of conversation resulting in nothing more than deceit and frustration. If this company would have been honest and showed us a car within our price range, we would have likely made a purchase. An incredibly frustrating waste of our afternoon. As a side note, I actually purchased a vehicle from this dealership about 4-5 years earlier and had one of the BEST car buying experiences of my life. I'm disappointed in the changes they've made with their sales techniques. It's clear that they have changed management since my last visit. Not likely to return in the future or recommend to anyone that I like in the slightest degree. This dealership is managed by greedy slime balls... Best of luck to anyone who's brave enough to stroll the property! read more

I wish I could make 2 different reviews, one for SALES and one for SERVICE. I bought my 2015 Forrester at this location and had a terrific experience. The SALES staff was very engaging and helpful. They even went out and bought Jimmy John's for my kiddos while we were finishing up the paper-work. I would also be giving a lower rating if it weren't for Frank in sales because my Forrester was sold to me without a jack- through I didn't notice until months later. I don't know whose responsibility it is to double check the cars, and I feel somewhat personally responsible for not checking the car as thoroughly myself. After I noticed, Frank, the sales manager, made a couple of phone calls (I believe initially the higher-ups were going to make me pay for a new jack). Frank intervened, and I believe that he went above and beyond to get me the jack. I would NOT recommend the SERVICE department at this location. I recently bought new wheels with compatible tire-pressure sensors, but the tire pressure sensors have to be scanned into the software of the vehicle to recognize them. This is done with a little handheld sensor that plugs in under the dashboard. This typically takes FIVE MINUTES. Not all scanners are created equal and I was told the dealer would have the best scanner. When I went to them, the service manager told me that it would cost over an hour of labor, somewhere between a $150-$200 which really surprised me. I decided to leave and just check my tire pressure on my own instead. I decided to go by Discount Tire just to see if their scanner was any good. After I pulled up and told them what I wanted, they didn't charge me or even ask me my name. The technician simply came out to my car with the little handheld scanner and in literally less than FIVE MINUTES he had scanned each tire (kind of the way a checkout person scans a bag of bread at the grocery store) then pluged the scanner in under the dash- and bingo my tire pressure gauge was set and the light on my dash was back to normal. Best case scenario is that the service people at this location have a scanner is sub-par and takes an hour to scan my tires, which is hard to believe (I even asked the service manager if the tech could just come out with the scanner and try but he refused). Worse-case scenario is that he knowingly was going to take my car back and hold it for over an hour for something that only takes 5 minutes and charge me over a $150. He insisted that in order to even try, I had to sign in, check in my car, and agree to pay whatever it cost. Bottom-line is that when trust is broken with a little thing like this then why would I bring my car in for bigger issues. There are too many other good garages around town, including other subaru service departments. read more

I came here with the intention of buying a car. You should know they use the old model of salesmanship in which the sales staff is working hard to fool the customer into paying more. They use the old ploy of hanging onto your keys while they try to wear you down with one unreasonable offer after another. Their dreamer add-ons are absurd. $1124 of a "protective coat", more than any other dealership charges for extra window tinting. Their first offer was $9000 more than any other dealer. We ended up $7000 less than their first offer- but still more than the others and they kept sneaking the add-ons back in, like I wouldn't notice. From my first call to my appt. ( about ten days later) I dealt with 5 different sales reps. I think they have difficulty holding on to staff. The man I dealt with last was perfectly nice, but it appeared he had to do what the manager was telling him to do, which kept him cram being responsive to what I was asking. The dealership was busy- end of the month. I have no idea how anyone would put up with their archaic approach. Maybe we expect to be abused every time we buy a car... I won't go back. Better price and better treatment elsewhere. read more

Went car shopping today drove cars in the 30-60k range. This Subaru dealership wanted a credit application before a test drive. I was insulted by two employees assuming I could not afford a vehicle. Take your money elsewhere the customer service here is way below par. read more

We bought our Forester yesterday through this dealership and had a really positive experience :) Kris Patel was our salesman who made the entire experience great! We left knowing we bought the best car for us, was given beyond a great trade price for our old Sierra truck, and didn't overpay for a lemon. We also worked with managers and a financing advisor who all equally impressed us with their top of the line customer service. Not once were we chased to the parking lot or felt forced to stay (unlike the GMC dealership we looked at). It's our second Subaru and the customer service was just as memorable in Seattle, too. Both locations many of the staff were employees for 10+ years. Buying from a Subaru dealership is your best bet. Very grateful to Kris and the staff, thank you! :) read more

I have to start by saying that some of the people I worked with at Camelback Subaru were great (Dwayne...Sales Consultant). I have two separate incidences to talk about. In the first incidence, I wrote a $2000 check for my ex-husband's deal to go through (we were trading in vehicles so that I could get my name off of his loans as a co-signer...never co-sign for anyone)! Rich (not sure what his title is at the dealership) told me that my ex had 14 days to come up with the $2000 before they cashed my check. Rich said that after the 14 days were up, he would contact my ex for the money. If for some reason he was unable to pay, they would contact me before they cashed the check. I should have known better but sure enough...after 14 days $2000 came out of my account. No call. If I would have known this, I would have not written the check and we could have figured something else out. They have people promising things that are not followed up on to get the deal done any way possible. I called multiple times to follow-up and had to keep calling to get a straight answer from anyone. My second incidence is regarding a pay-off on my trade in. My finance guy (Joe) told me to go ahead and make my August payment and that when Camelback made the pay-off, I would be refunded. You know what they did? They made the pay-off amount AFTER I made my August payment!!! So basically I paid for an entire month of a car that was in their possession. These people do not follow-through with what they promise. I love my car but it has nothing to do with this dealership. They will not get any more of my business and I hope they won't get anyone else's who reads this!!! 8/28/15 To follow up, I told Alex (she works in finance for the dealership) that I felt taken advantage of by Rich. She said that they have talked to him and don't let him deal directly with the customers' deals anymore. Great...how does that resolve what he did to me???? All I have been offered so far is an apology. I have contacted Human Resources with no response. Also, I looked into the pay-off situation and I was assured that I would be refunded my August payment. Hopefully that will be true. Just do yourselves a favor and stay away. read more

Got a $4,500 estimate for head gaskets, broken transmission mount, struts, sway bar, and belts. Took it to my mechanic and only sway bar bushings and ac belt needed replacement . The seepage on the head gaskets was small and from a leaking coolant hose connection. The transmission mount was tearing but not broken as they wrote. The struts were not seeping and were very stiff. read more

I found a used car on their website that I liked and so I requested a quote online. They called a short time later to ask me when I wanted to come in to look at it. I told them a time and about a half hour before the time they called me again to confirm that I was coming in to look at the car. When I got there, they told me the car had sold at auction in the morning, before they even called me - they knew the car was gone when they began calling me to set an appointment to come see it. Then of course they tried to upsell me into something totally different. Total waste of my time. read more

Negative stars would be more appropriate for this awful dealership. Sales manager could not have played the part of scumbag car dealer any better. We showed up to the dealership as cash buyers with a pre-negotiated sales price through both Costco and Trucar. After the sales person acknowledged the price he brought a deal sheet that was 8k over the price. We would have been in and out of the dealership in under half an hour with a new car, but instead we took our business elsewhere. Way to perpetuate every negative stereotype for car dealers! read more
