Don't trust anyone at this dealership. Don't do business with this dealer. We called and emailed back and forth with a sales rep over a Forester. We were confirmed a price for the vehicle and we were open about the damages to our trade in. We even gave them our vehicle's Vin number and they confirmed the damages. When we arrived the price for the Forester was very high and no where near what we had agreed upon. The sales manager then insulted us by saying we had not been openly honest with him about the damages to our trade in (basically called us liers.) They did not and will not negotiate in good faith. Buyers beware and stay clear of this dealership. read more

Walked in today and the sales experience was awful. When I told them I was in preliminary stages of purchasing, sales manager asked "Why did you come in at end of month if you aren't going to buy today?" Then pulled sales rep from us, saying he was "too busy" to bother with me. Did all the typical tactics like "how much do you want your monthly payment to be?" and asked for keys to my car to assess trade in before I saw even one Subaru. Presumptive and the type of sales manager that makes sales people themselves cringe. Two stars for Manuel, new sales guy who tried but is set up for failure. I hope he prospers elsewhere. read more

Not a great experience... I was interested in a used outback. I just wanted to test drive it and ask some questions about their financing options. I spoke with a sales rep who assured me that there was no pressure to buy and I was welcome to test out the car. When we got back from the short drive, the sales manager was waiting for me in a cubicle with paperwork to sign for the car. I politely explained that I wasn't interested in buying today, however he continued to hound me to sign the paperwork. I very sternly told him that I would not sign anything, and after a fe minutes of back and forth he finally left. The sales rep (who apologized for the persistence of the manager) asked me if I was actually interested in the car. I told him I was going out of town for the weekend and would be back next week and I would contact him then if I was still interested. Well, over that weekend I received multiple calls a day from the manager and the sales rep, on top of texts and emails. Truly, I was bombarded with calls... I will NEVER use their services again. Pushy staff and no respect for customer requests. read more

They will not stop calling me. I did an online vehicle inquiry 6 months ago, and they constantly call to see if I want to buy a car from them. I've called three times to be taken off their call list now. At one point I blocked their number, but found out the hard way that they were still able to leave voicemails. Turns out I was missing important doctor appointment calls because my voicemail was full (20+ voicemails from Camelback Subaru). I live in the East Valley and if I ever decide to go with a Subaru, I'll gladly drive out to Peoria Subaru to buy from them. Can you get a restraining order on a car dealership? read more

Read every piece of paper before you sign it. Don't trust what they tell you. Prepare for a long day. Headaches included: -Unnecessary waiting... It took 5 to 6 hours from the time I approached them to purchase the car to leaving with it. -Unnecessary extra fees... Initial quote included an additional $3000 in "dealership added extras". Took about 1 hour and a couple threats to walk out before I was able to get the car at their sticker price. -Lies about warranty... Car was advertised online, on the car, and by the salesman as having a 7 year, 100k mile warranty. When signing, I noticed no warranty paperwork. After an hour of hassles with the manager, two threats to leave, multiple lies about the warranty, and multiple lies about what I was signing, I finally got the warranty I was promised in the beginning. Do NOT trust what they tell you in person. Read everything. read more

Covid? What Covid? Made an appointment to test drive a car earlier in the day. The receptionist, half the sales team and entire finance department had no masks on when I walked in. Take photos of your car before bringing it in! I brought in my vehicle for maintenance and discovered splattered marks where the paint had been eaten away all over the side and hood of my car when I went to pick it up. They initially said it was sap, which is interesting because there are no trees where I park for work or at home. They are now claiming it was bird poop, which is laughable given the amount of rain PHX has had in the past two weeks. My car was dusty, but there was no bird poop on it when I brought it in. Careless and won't take responsibility for their mistakes. read more

On Scottsdale and needed front brakes at 30 percent on pads. This dealer in my opinion started very unprofessionally with a "do not care" attitude and ended with Subaru America stepping in as we were out of pocket $1500 for front brakes and rotors on STI in the end. The Camelback mechanic used impact wrench to strip down the Brimbo calipers that had to be heat torched off. The Camelback mechanic put the lug nuts on with power wrench and stripped the posts and nuts. 2 posts have been replaced. They did not grease the new pads causing searing noise. The dealer in Chicago where the car is now after shipping - stepped in and brought these issues to my attention. There is a credit proof photo below and would recommend to all victims of this low class dealership to utilize the 800 number to force this dealership to step up training, attitude and professionalism. Next stop BBB on formal complaint. I am not bashing them on lack of service but this is clearly a safety issue and they appear to not care. They have enough bad press on this site and others but there is an avenue to accountability and it is provided below. I will go there again but have the need to let others know there is a difference in training vs malice. I am the one out of pocket for the balance as warranty will not cover brakes as we all know but the damage was done and I am still out the $450 for Camellback new factory pads were ruined by compete stupidity. Thankful Subaru 800 stepped in to assist since Camelback was not interested in assisting. Total of $2500 and my time but at least I am not dead on the road with no brakes or broken lug nuts. read more

Wasnt looking for a different car but was called by the sales staff and told they were offering 125% of KBB for my trade-in. I have a 2007 Outback with the highest trim in good condition. That's 11-12k on KBB so I thought 2600-3000 on top of the trade in value is a solid deal. Went to take a look at one of their used vehicles that was in the price range I could get when factoring in the bonus from the trade-in. Salesman worked quickly to process my trade-in (the 2nd star) but they low-balled me so much on it, it was insulting. Offered $6k with no intentions of changing it, didn't even acknowledge the original deal of 125%KBB- the salesman kept trying to talk to the deal advertised on the phone and the finance guy would wave him off and actually said "it doesn't matter." I wouldn't buy a car here. They over promise and under deliver. There's nothing special about this place. If you want a car from their inventory, go to a different dealership and tell them about the car you want- let them make the deal between each other. read more

Our family have been going here for any parts or service for our subaru for awhile now and we haven't been disappointed yet, their customers service are good and willing to help you find anything you need, want or simply if have any questions.. but the sales deportments are not the same, promise you the world and always run short at the end. The family wanted a new forester and we been looking around the valley and couldn't find a white one, so we came here to see if there was a white one around... we look around the lots and couldn't find a white one, so we ask and they said they do not have a white forester in the lot.. but trying to force us to look at a impreza which was on sale... We said we wanted a forester not a impreza but they keep trying to show and tell us why a impreza would be a better choice, well i mean thats fine, but keep pushing it again and again. The next day they got a white forester which they told us they will not be getting and sold it to someone else.. Overall is a nice dealer but not that big. We will continue to come here for service and parts but for buying a car I think not.. read more

While I think car dealers and their service departments are often dishonest, Camelback Subaru is a definite. Two experiences with them: 1. Took my 2014 Forester there for routine service. As they talked me through what was done, they also told me I needed new brakes. I thought this was odd, as there was no noise at all from the brake pad sensors, there was no warning light on the dash, and the car only had about 35,000 miles. (I have bad habits as a driver, but riding my brakes is not one of them.) I declined to schedule a brake repair, went down the street to AAA, and paid for them to check the brakes. As I suspected, nothing wrong, just normal wear. AAA told me I probably had another 15,000 miles in the brakes. Guess who my new car repair and maintenance shop is? 2. I had knocked off my passenger side mirror by driving too close to a wall. The mirror was okay except it would not stay in place. My son duct-taped it, and it was fine, although not ideal, obviously. At the time of the service mentioned above, I asked for an estimate to repair it, and was told $500, the whole thing needed replacing. So I just left the duct tape in place. This week my Forester was in a body shop after a collision. I asked the service manager for an estimate for the mirror (separate from the insurance coverage, since this damage was not from the accident). Turns out he fixed it for free! There was a small plastic clip that had been dislodged, and just needed to be snapped back into its proper place. So either Camelback Subaru never bothered to actually check out the mirror and/or they wanted to make some extra bucks from me. Will not return either for service or to buy another car. read more

I recently purchased a Subaru Outback from Camelback Subaru. I hadn't purchased a new car in years and really wanted to find just the right vehicle for my family. Kris Patel took really awesome care of me! He took me around to test drive a couple of cars that I was trying to decide between. One was not even a Subaru! That's right! He even took me to one of their sister dealerships, so I would have no doubts that the Outback was the car for me. He was patient, informative, and definitely NOT pushy. He helped me get a really great price for my new car and for my trade in. I highly recommend Kris and Camelback Subaru. They treat you like family. read more

I was searching for cars near near nevada and I stumbled upon this place online. I spoke to George over the phone and he made the whole transaction easy. When I arrived in pheonix, George picked me up form the bus station and immediately we started chatting it up as though we were long time friends. I didn't get the salesman vibe, which is nice, but we still got stuff done. His service was definitely great, I highly recommend him as your sales man. Be careful with the subaru manager, Richie (?), before I arrived I was told X amount for the car and it's yours, when I arrived the manager was pushing higher numbers, his customer service was a joke, and it made the whole trip down there a drag. Besides the manager, everything else was great. read more

Even though we've bought from them before, this was the worst experience at a car dealership I have ever had. Had a deal worked out (after several hours) shook on it, signed the papers, made deposit. Had to leave due to time constraints. In PM received message deal was all set, called in the morning "it all good, come in to get the car'". Get to dealership they had a totally different deal that we agreed upon. and no one seemed to remember the day before. Traded my super reliable 2010 Nissan Maxima that I had since high school that had never had any major issues besides flat tires for a 2014 Subaru Forester over Christmas break 2021 while visiting family in AZ. Sales guy named Ayiden was a smarmy 23 year old fresh out of college who wasted my time and was incredibly unhelpful, but I liked the forester, so I didn't let that stop me. Three days after I buy the Forester, all the car's warning lights come on at once while I'm on the highway; I lost power steering and I was redlining my revs. Managed to exit the highway and stop in a parking lot. Wait 2 hours for a tow, get to Camelback Subaru, and they call me the next day saying the VDC module is broken, and it needs to be replaced, but they would do it for free and they gave me a loaner that I can't take out of state. That's good news; the bad news is that no dealership in the country has the damn part, and that there won't be any VDC modules entering America until at least early February. So, a recap: crappy sales experience, but the car drove great, 3 days later, car dies, can't get it fixed until February, so I'm stranded in AZ while myself and my girlfriend while we can't work because our employers are in UT all because a piece of shit sales person at camelback thought it was more important to sell a car than it was to make sure the car itself was safe and reliable enough to be sold. Due to a not at fault accident, our car was declared a total loss. After physically going to several dealerships in the Tucson area, we looked online for Subaru dealerships in nearby cities. Camelback Subaru website had a basic Subaru Forester for $28,945.00 MSRP. We made an appointment to see a sales associate and drove over 100 miles to check out a car. We had an opportunity to test drive it and were satisfied with the results. When we went in to review the paperwork, my wife and I were shocked to see the $28,945.00 MSRP increased by $12000.00 due to a DEALER MSRP of $5000.00 plus dealer add ons of $7000.00. When we protested to the sales associate about the advertised price on the website, he offered to speak to the manager to see if he could have the Dealer MSRP brought down to a lower amount. We expressed our disappointment at what we felt was false advertising and left. Returning to Tucson, we found a Subaru at a local dealer. Although it was a higher end model, it was still a lower price than the one offered at Camelback Subaru. I suggest anyone looking at this dealer's website for cars take the advertised price with precaution. read more

Two big problems with this dealership: 1 - They upsell you this "amazing" warranty when you buy the car, only it doesn't cover a damn thing when you go in due to "normal wear & tear" 2 - During and after the time you're waiting for repairs that won't be covered by the warranty you're still paying off, they aggressively push you to trade in the vehicle. Spent the entire day there. Had the deal all worked out with our sales guy, Carlos, who was patient and easy to work with. As we are finishing up, the sales manager Dave comes over and says the the final deal price we agreed on wouldn't work, that it had to be $150 more. He then acted like he was doing us a favor and said, so we got a deal? I said ok then what are you going to throw in. He looked me dead in the eye, all aggressive, and said "nothing". At that point i had enough and we walked out, only to get a call when we were already almost home That they would throw in some subaru shwag. As if that would pay us back for time and now the sheer annoyance of Dave coming over and ruining the deal. I Will be spending my 31k somewhere else, especially after reading all the other terrible sales experiences at this location. Too bad they lost a sale because of $150 and unchecked ego. read more

I originally went to Peoria Subaru. Keep in mind I was only 19 at the time so it's hard for some people to take me seriously that I want to buy a new car. I tried test driving a WRX at the Peoria location and no one took me seriously or wanted to even show me the car in depth. So I left and went straight here. Immediately greeted and thrown right into the driver seat. I still was getting used to a manual transmission but he let me anyway. I was tame then he got in the car and showed me how fun they are especially it being rainy that day it was extraordinary feeling how much traction these Subarus have. Came back a few days later and bought the car. Thanks for Camelback Subaru for treating a young guy like myself like any other buying customer. Y'all are great read more

I have been a Subaru owner for 10 years, and when my 2014 Outback was having transmission issues I figured the best place to go would be a dealership for the work since I'm new to town. After diagnostics, the mechanics here told me a pricey ~$2k fix would prevent me from having to replace the transmission so I told them to go for it; driving home after they worked on it I felt good about this choice. However, during my second drive after the work was done I had the same issues - lights on the dash and a choked-sounding engine. I took the car back to the dealership and they told me that now the whole transmission needed to be replaced for ~$8k. I tried to speak to the service manager Chris 4 times about a refund for the original work but I was told he was in meetings and would call back - which he never did. Add to this the fact that I spoke to a handful of other mechanics who told me that they would have never attempted the repair that Camelback Subaru did because it can lead to transmission failure. I ended up finding another mechanic to do the work for ~$4k total without any issues. Avoid Camelback Subaru at all costs! read more

How can I put this? They are...truth-challenged. Go in one day, get a very fair price on a car but above our budget - they don't try to sell us a used car or something we didn't want - ok, good sign. Fast forward one day - we decide we can make their price work and call - they confirm the price and car, then they'll call me in the morning to get moving. Next day: here we go...they said they sold every model of the car we wanted, sorry, but they'll look for one. A couple of hours later, guess what? (here's a shocker...): they can't find the car we want but - yep, they found one on the lot in a color we didn't want, without he package we wanted, and - yep - for more than the original offer. What makes these guys extra special is they didn't sell out that weekend- they just didn't want to honor their quote. Bait and switch, like a 1970's used car lot on Van Buren. read more

Ok, here's the deal: My trusty lady was getting up in years (14yo) and I needed a safe, reliable vehicle for work to drive around the Valley in. An outdoorsy, adventurous Subaru (that also fit all my equipment in the trunk) was exactly what I was looking for. My sales guy was fantastic, even took me out on a winding road so I could feel how the Forester handled. The Business Manager was also fantastic & helped me schedule my first maintenance appointment in advance (6,000mile/6month). My entire sales experience was 5 stars & I left with a great car, at the right price. This review is NOT a sales review, but a SERVICE/MAINTENANCE/SCHEDULING review. Recently, I wanted to purchase some accessories & include the installation with my existing appointment (the appointment we'd scheduled back in May & that I'd received 2 email reminders for). So, I called my sales guy to try and give Subaru my money, but was rushed off the phone, and given a number to the Parts department. I guess selling/leasing vehicles is his only focus & my wanting to go back to him... you know, just in case he could earn more commission... was not something he had time for. Regardless, I called Parts for a quote of the accessories & their quote was about $100 more than if I just ordered them online & had them shipped directly to Camelback Subaru... so obviously, I decided to order online. At least the Parts guy agreed that was the best option. Then, I asked him to transfer me to Service to get a quote for the install & confirm it could be added to my existing appointment. I have no idea why you can't call one number for all quotes, anyway he transferred me. I got their voicemail, so left a message requesting a quote for the install. In the meantime, I went online to see if I could just add the install to my existing appointment & save myself the phone tag. I was able to get through all the steps, but then I couldn't choose an appointment time. It was listing all the available times, but I couldn't click on any of them. So, I waited... and waited... and not wanting to delay the accessory order & potentially not be able to get them delivered in time, I just went ahead and ordered them & chose to have them delivered directly the Camelback Subaru. 2hrs later, I finally reach the Service department and spoke to a girl who could only schedule appointments (not provide quotes). So, I ask her to just go ahead and schedule the install for the same time as my existing appointment. Her system didn't show me having an appointment scheduled. How do I not have an appointment in the system?!?! So, I had to schedule a new appointment, at a different time than my original appointment. This entire process was super annoying & definitely does NOT make customers feel very important. It really made me feel like their service ended once I signed a contract... like they got my money for the lease & then they didn't really give a poo (you know the word I really mean). Perhaps they need to update their system(s) so everyone can see the schedule & what the appointment is for... and make their quoting system available across departments so customers don't have to call 3 different numbers to get info on parts, service, and scheduling. read more

The moment you purchase your new vehicle from this dealership and drive it off the Lot, you are on your own! When I picked up my Subaru in December 21, all they cared about was getting a high rating in their customer satisfaction survey. I still cannot register it, because I now live in another state which does not accept electronic titles in place of the old fashioned paper ones. This dealer should have immediately sent the manufacturer's documents to my new state, but instead the title department took the easy route and just sent it to Arizona MVD to have it titled in AZ electronically -path chosen because it was more convenient for them . I've gone here for my car maintenance since I arrived in Phoenix three years ago. It's a bit of a drive from Tempe but I see no need to change since I've always received stellar and straightforward service. Last time the guy advised me to make sure to get my 30,000 mile service check (which includes a lot of components like brakes, tire rotation, etc) in early before my maintenance plan expired. He also replaced an insert from my bumper that had popped out for free since they're known to be troublesome. There's free popcorn. They upgraded their coffee machine since my last visit too. I'm sitting here sipping a vanilla cappuccino, eating popcorn, and listening to some awesome 90's music. Everyone here seems pretty upbeat and friendly. SERVICE DEPARTMENT! FANTASTIC. Dayna Bourassa and Brian B. I have had all all kinds of cars, new, used, high end, low end, and in the middle.
