We have moved over 10 times in our lives so have experienced many different moving companies. This move was a local move so easier than most and used a service through our realtor's company. Camelback Moving was quick to respond and gave us a much better quote than than the other companies. I do want to add that the young lady that called was very thorough and explained the whole process. On moving day the crew of Zac, Mario, and Tony showed up on time and worked very quickly. Since they are hourly this is important. Not once did they take a break. They even added some felt to the bottom of our dining table that had come off. The sale of my condo preceded the closing of my new home by two weeks. Camelback Moving sent four guys to finish up my packing and move my belongings to their storage facility on 10-21-18. They laid down carpet runners to protect the bamboo floors, then got to work -- without stopping! They were in and out within three hours. This was especially remarkable given that my condo had furnishings and boxes on all three levels. My cleaners arrived the next day to make the condo shine, then I moved into a hotel. On 11-4-18, my belongings were loaded onto a truck (they have a loading dock at their warehouse, making it much easier to use a dolly in and out of the truck). Three of the four guys from the earlier move arrived at my just-built home (with white porcelain floors and freshly painted walls), and brought it all in. I barely had to give instructions. They remembered how to re-assemble my furniture, and even tipped the heavier pieces so I could apply foot pads for future shifting. On both days they exceeded my expectations. They knew what they were doing and worked together as a team. They were professional and kind, each complimenting my new single-level home. I have now unpacked every box and put everything away. Weather was incredibly warm and the two gentlemen were positive, upbeat and professional. This was after they had already completed two jobs. We moved approximately ten to fifteen big furniture items out of a storage unit and into our new home. They were careful with our belongings and wrapped them appropriately. I decided to use Camelback Moving after reading several reviews of moving companies on yelp. They appeared to have the most five star reviews. I am certainly very pleased with a very difficult move. I was impressed with Dorris on the phone, she spent a total of at least two hours with me prior to the move going over every piece of furniture. In addition I was able to talk to someone who did a FaceTime walk-through my house who is able to give me an estimate of what it would cost me. because I had some specific Antique Furniture, as well as some large art pieces and family heirlooms, they sent their best movers to our house. We had a four-man crew with Robert as the foreman. They were friendly, professional and for the first time in my life, The movers actually placed the boxes in the correct rooms. In addition, the furniture was placed where we directed. Because we had downsized considerably, we had more furniture than we had room. The piano had to be moved a second time to another wall. The couch also was moved twice.No one complained, everyone had a good attitude. The next day I noticed that my shelves to pantry cabinets had not been installed and the pegs were missing. In addition, I realized that they had not plugged in the adjustable bed and it was not working. I placed a phone call the next day and they called me back, and I eventually found the pegs and the shelves. The following day I called them again, I asked for Dorris and I told her the adjustable bed was not working. She transferred me to operations, and they told me to look for the cord taped to the frame. I explained to them that both my husband and I had both tried to retrieve the cord, but could not. The following day I called them again, I asked for Dorris and I told her the bed was not working. She transferred me to operations, and they told me to look for the cord taped under the bed. I explained to them that both my husband and I had both looked under the bed and the cord was wrapped around the lift mechanism. I told them I thought they needed to send two movers out to pick up the bed because the cord was jammed. I was told they would send 2 men. A few hours later the doorbell rang. I was a little bit confused because the gentleman introduced himself as a representative of Camelback movers but was dressed in professional business attire. He came in. I showed him the problem. I told him that he would have to be a magician to lift the bed and get the cord. He said they called him the magic man. I chuckled. He said within five minutes he would have the cord out. Much to my surprise he had the cord out within two minutes. I said "who are you?" He said I'm the Director of operations. I shook his hand but he wasn't ready to go. He said I want to see the shelves where the pegs were missing. I told him I had found the pegs wrapped up within the shelves. He wanted to put the shelves in for me. I said thank you, but I think I can do this. I really appreciate you fixing the problem. Moving is a complete pain but luckily companies like Camelback Moving exist to make the experience a little less painful. I also suggest being pregnant when you move because then you get out of lifting heavy boxes! I've hired Camelback Moving several times over the last decade and they have always been my favorite movers in town. Now here's the trick. You need to be with the movers while they are moving your stuff so that they don't stall, but as long as you do, they work hard and quickly! For our recent move, we were a mover's nightmare because our condo complex is the least moving-friendly condo complex in town. Half the time was spent walking back and forth. However, Frank and Alex, the two Camelback Moving movers (along with my husband who was a rockstar during this whole moving process), saved the day and worked incredibly hard to get the move done. Frank and Alex were super nice to work with, they worked hard and they were very friendly along the way! The price is very reasonably priced with a one time trip charge, plus $70 an hour for two movers and a truck. I hope I don't move again anytime soon, but whenever I need a moving company, i will know to turn to Camelback Moving! read more

It was hard to figure out what rating to give this company. I've used them in the past for short distance moves across town in Phoenix and would have rated them a 5 based on those alone....but then I made the mistake of using this company for a long distance move out of state. I've never experienced such poor customer service before. Throughout the whole process, the long distance moving rep. (Susan) made promise after promise that she never upheld. 1. I was told by Susan that there was another person moving things to Minnesota, and that the shipments could be combined to minimize costs. I spoke with another rep (Alicia) about this and she said that they were waiting on the other persons reply. I never heard anything about this matter afterward despite inquiring about it prior to my move, and have received no updates despite being told that I would. I finally received a follow-up after I wrote a complaint to the company. During their follow up after my complaint, I was told that my price quote already reflected the savings of a combined move, but I know that is not the case because the discount I received was in response to the quotes I received from two competitor companies (Atlas and United Vanlines) and had nothing to do with the savings from a combined move. When I received the quote, they specifically told me they were knocking off $300 to be competitive with the other companies, that I would receive more off once they get confirmation from the other person that a combined move would be possible. There is no misunderstanding here, I was flat out lied to by Camelback Moving in this instance to cover up their incompetence in handling my move. It's important to note that everyone I have dealt with from the company, except for the long distance moving rep., has been professional and courteous, albeit unhelpful at times. 2. I was never given a quote by Susan during her visit to my apartment, I received a quote from Alicia when I called in, which she quickly did as a courtesy because it happened to be 15 minutes before the office closed on that Friday. I had been told by Susan that she would be getting in touch with me later in the afternoon on August 23rd, if not for my call to the office near closing time, I would have been left without a quote from Camelback Moving. What I was given at the time was never meant to be the actual quote, Alicia informed me that I would be getting a more accurate updated quote from Susan on Monday morning (August 26th). It is important to note that my apartment was examined at 10am. There was an excess of 6 hours that passed between the visit and me needing to call in for the information that I was promised. 3. I called Susan Monday morning on August 26th around 9am inquiring about my actual quote. At no time was I given the complete updated quote despite asking for one. The only quote I was given at the time was for my packing fees. Once again, I was promised a more precise quote and pick up time later that afternoon. The three gentlemen that packed my apartment unit were surprised at my price quote because they said that it was a very small move, that according to their paperwork, I was quoted as needing 8 wardrobe boxes, when only 3 ended up being used. This lead me to further question the quote that I was given, considering the prior conversation about how the cost was estimated and the cost reduction of a combined move with the other person moving to MN. When I brought this up in a follow up with Alicia, I received a lot of excuses and finally was told that even though the type of boxes were overestimated, the total number of boxes I was estimated as having was still within one or two boxes. I don't know if I buy this answer, since it was pretty clear that she was doing the damage control for another person's screw up. 4. During the same phone call on August 26, I asked Susan when the movers would be arriving the next day and was informed that she didn't know at the time but would call me back once it was confirmed. I received no contact from her. I was forced to speak with one of the warehouse staff and another employee at Camelback Moving after office hours and they apologized and informed me that the movers would be at my apartment between 8-9am the next day. 5. The only contact I have had with my moving rep (Susan) since I asked about how the pricing is done was a phone call informing me that the move was delayed due to mechanical issues with the truck. I definitely appreciate the follow up from the company after I wrote them a complaint, but it seemed more like I was getting worked over than having my concerns addressed. It makes zero sense to me that my costs are the same when my original quote was made without the savings from a combined move. Really unfortunate experience and I will no longer be using this company or recommending them to anyone in the Valley. read more

When we called they answered all of our questions and emailed us a rundown of all that we talked about. After booking them they called us the day before to confirm and the day of to give us a general time of when they would arrive. Exceptional service! This is the best moving company in the Phoenix area. With my job I tend to move almost every year. This time instead of using a big national company, I decided to go with Camelback Moving and was glad I did. Out of all the movers I've used, these guys are the best. Here's why these movers are the best: 1) They return your calls right away. 2) They give you a quote over the phone and then follow up by email. You don't need to take an afternoon off work to have them walk through your place and look at stuff. 3) You have until 5 p.m. the day before the move to cancel without losing the $125 deposit. Some places never give it back if you change the date so this was amazing. 4) You pay by the hour and after the second hour, you pay in increments of 15 minutes so you never feel like you are getting ripped off. And here's my favorite reason: There are no hidden charges. My pet peeve with some movers is when they charge you a last minute "walking fee" because they had to walk more than 10 ft to your door. Camelback Moving doesn't do this. Finally, a reliable moving company that doesn't make you feel like you are being ripped off. Plus, Camelback Moving went out of their way to accommodate me with my moving situation. I had booked my move in advance and at the last minute I had to cancel due to problem with the condo I was moving to. Because I cancelled so close, I had expected to have to pay the 2 hour minimum as the guys were already on their way to my home. Steve from Camelback Moving was fantastic and told me I would only lose the $125 deposit. I was thrilled. BUT then he called me again later that afternoon saying they were able to book a last minute move during my time slot and he was going to refund all my money. Wow!!! I never expected that at all. The guys brought the clothing boxes in first so I could load all my hanging stuff and with a little explanation of what was going they worked hard and fast. They were very considerate of moving my large flat-panel tv into my own truck with their padding as they explained it's an easier ride than their truck. My fiance and I decided to go with Camelback Moving because of all the great reviews we saw on-line. Our first impressions were great. We had Eric S., Eli and Richard doing our move. They showed up at the end of the window of time that they were supposed to be there, and started moving promptly. Everything I had was boxed and ready to go. They even complimented how organized I was. It took them two hours to get everything out of our 3rd story apartment. Man were they quick! We made sure they had food and water, sodas, etc and they seemed grateful. Now, lets get into where it went bad. At the end of them loading our apartment they tell us that their 2nd job of the day got canceled, which we thought nothing of until we got to our destination. It took them 4 hours to unload the truck and they didn't even have stairs to go up! Really?! One guy was texting every time he brought a load up (which happened to be the guy that broke my nice set of Martini Glasses), and when I told the foreman of the job that he wasn't working, his response was, "he has worked 9 days in a row, so we are taking it easy on him". Well I didn't pay for 3 guys to only have 2 of them working! It was frustrating that they took their sweet time since they had nothing else to do for the rest of the day. They even told me that unloading would be quicker than packing the truck! So all in all it was a very frustrating experience and I won't use this moving company again unless they change the way their movers perform. read more

Some Yelpers like Gabi, Dante, Darnell, and Stephanie all used Camelback and everyone seemed to like their services. 3. They were the most professional. I called 5 others to check for prices. I needed help loading up my truck because there was no way in hell I was going to do it myself. I'm too lazy to do it. My laptop gave me that look of, "Go to Yelp and just find a great mover", so I went down the list and called several. Some quoted higher prices, and some quoted lower (although the cheaper ones were less reputable). Camelback offered to beat any competitor's price (provided that they had the same BBB rating and a CDL license). I didn't bother. I knew that these would be the guys. On moving day, the three guys (Toby, Nick and Cody) showed up ON TIME, and loaded up my 26ft truck in 3 hours. They brought all of their own shrink wrap, were very respectful of my belongings, and did a thorough inspection beforehand....to make sure that I had enough space in the truck. They didn't take smoke breaks, or complain about the hot weather. They did their job, and did it well. I would definitely hire Camelback again....but I don't envision living in Arizona, ever again. If you happen to be there....use Camelback. They are the best. If you don't believe me, then read all the other reviews. My two man crew consisted of Adam and Moses (thanks guys) and they were the bees knees. They called me to let me know exactly when they would show up to help me with my move and arrived on time and got right to it. Yet another case of Yelp serving it's purpose perfectly! I needed movers. I don't know any. Did a Yelp search, found Camelback Movers with fantastic reviews (including some from Yelp friends!) I called on a Tuesday and was able to schedule two men and a moving truck to be at my house between 7:30 and 9:30 Saturday morning. Andre and Tomas arrived at 8:30 and were amazing. In addition to being quick and careful (and strong as oxen!), they were both very friendly. Everything I had going with them was loaded on the truck, moved, and unloaded in about two hours. No damage on ANYTHING! Camelback moving also provides storage - and I had some items that just would not fit in the new place, but I am not willing to part with. The rate for the size storage was just about half of what other self storage facilities wanted! And - Camelback movers brought my stuff there. No extra effort on my part! I am thrilled with the service - from the initial call to arrange everything, to how quickly and easily the move went, to the final call I got later in the day confirming my grand total. I think we can all agree that moving sucks. I was thinking...do I ask my friends with trucks for help? I have used Camelback Moving Co. quite few times. I must say they are hands down the best in AZ. I have used other companies before and found some of my things dinged up or scratched. But not with these guys. I love how they wrapped everything in a protective wrap and take their time to make sure that everything is has the proper clearance. They also disassembled and reassembled my boys very expensive bunk bed set perfectly. I've found them to be very accurate with quoted time. I haven't moved in years, and I was very nervous about the process. Camelback Moving made the whole thing so easy, and on top of that, they were professional, kind, and very nice. On the day of the move, Salvador, James, and David were fast, very helpful, and even funny and entertaining! They took great care of my furniture (even my grandmother's very old dining set), and they made me laugh throughout the day! I can't recommend this company enough. Ok, I got so excited for my move on Sunday morning that I went out and got shitfaced drunk on Saturday night.... Then I never went to sleep. So the movers show up on Sunday morning, and I was so hungover! But they made the move quick and painless. I thanked them inbetween my dry heaves. It was pretty awesome. read more

I called Camelback Moving about a month before my move to get a quote and also to get a feel how they operate. I was happy with all the information given to me on the phone, and I immediately booked them to move us from a 1st floor apartment to a 3rd floor. A few days before my move I received a call from their office (just as they said I would) to confirm my move date and they reminded me that the movers would give us a call between 7:30-9:00 on the day of the move to let us know they were on their way. On the day of the move at 7:40 I received a call from the movers (once again just as they said I would) saying they were on their way. They arrived at our apartment approximately 30 minutes later and once we did the paperwork they began working. We had 2 guys and 1 truck to move us. They were very professional, polite and courteous throughout our move despite the fact that it was 100+ degrees that morning. It took 4 hours on the dot to get our apartment done, and nothing was broken as they had taken the time to properly wrap our couches and other fragile things carefully before moving them.
