Recently we moved from Phoenix to Colorado, and used North American Van Lines. I have moved many…read moretimes in my career as a contract engineer, but this was a terrible experience. They "forgot" a deep freezer and some other unreplaceable items, and badly damaged several furniture items. In total, there was over $6,000 in missing and damaged items. They sent a guy from Michael's Restorations out and he looked at the damages, telling us he would repair the furniture damage - but we never heard from him again. Instead, about a week later, we received a check for $200 from the moving company. Don't ever use this company!

Moved long distance from IL to AZ. Didn't realize how important the accuracy and level of detail…read moreis NEEDED. Their inventory list was sloppy and I felt it but didn't say anything. It has now haunted me. As they were unloading in AZ I couldn't believe how many big ticket items were not cared for and damaged. Leg off expensive console, totally bent marble coffee table (unusable now), expensive brand new leather auto recliner scraped up, 10 piece top brand iron patio set all scratch up, full length mirrors broken.... list goes on. I could name the items that showed up UNDAMAGED. So many "missing" items it could make you go crazy. Oh and bill was $3k over estimate. You would think the Corporate Office, in IN, would care about their customers wanting repeat business. Well they DONT give a damn about your experience or your belongings. Trust is key with any mover. DO NOT TRUST NORTH AMERICAN VANLINES. No corporate office to back up any local mover. Very sad in today's world. The CEO/President will not talk to their upset customers again very sad. They go silent. Horrible business. In business myself, I could NEVER imagine treating my customer like this. Yes I paid for insurance - what a joke. Claims will barely pay anything. Working with claims is HORRIFIC. Horrible communication, inaccurate claims etc... Bridget Kelly is President's assistant, again horrible communication. She is not reliable and total gatekeeper. They clearly don't care about their reputation and the executives will not engage which I think is sad. Overalll.... DO NOT USE! Thought I was safe with a large van line. Moving now to possible law suit. This is not acceptable business practice. UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE! All of my furniture was under 4 years old. NO "white glove" service, no floor coverings on floors at either location. Damage to IL home moving out and to AZ home moving in. This company / industry MUST change.

I have never written a negative review before, but after the experience I had with this moving…read morecompany I feel compelled to warn others. The level of unprofessionalism, incompetence, and disregard for my possessions has been nothing short of appalling. From the start, their handling of our furniture was rough and careless. Our solid oak dining table, a piece of furniture we valued both sentimentally and financially, was returned to us scratched across the surface and covered in duct tape residue over the entire thing. It looks like they wrapped the table in tape instead of proper protective materials, leaving sticky, damaging residue that will require professional restoration. They also broke a standing wooden jewelry box. Instead of properly documenting the damage or treating it responsibly, it appears they attempted to patch it up while it was still wrapped, which only made the situation worse. A lamp was broken during transit; worse yet, they did not inform us of the breakage at the time. Because of that omission we had no idea where the lamp was or whether it was damaged. When they finally admitted the lamp had been broke, it was too late and the damage had already been hidden by their silence. The move took place in July. It is now March. Per the contract, after we submitted photos and descriptions of the damages we were required to allow 90 days for them to issue a check. I have called every week since then. Every single week they tell me to "give it another week" or they'll "send another check" and nothing ever arrives. This is not a misunderstanding or a single mistake; it is a prolonged pattern of delay and empty promises. This company is taking advantage of a young, first-time homeowner who now lives too far away to be a constant bother. Their failure to communicate, to take responsibility for clear damage, and to follow the terms of their own contract is unacceptable. I believed in giving people the benefit of the doubt, but this has been an ongoing, maddening ordeal with no resolution in sight. Do not use this company. I cannot stress that enough.

1 Star - Worst Moving Experience I've Ever Had…read more I paid over $800 for what was supposed to be a full apartment move, and this was hands down the worst moving experience I've ever had. Their excuse to everything was that "I signed the paperwork" which meant I was satisfied. I signed the paperwork in a rush because when you are are a girl alone with two grown men rushing you to sign something because they are going to be late for their next job and making you feel bad and pressured I signed it in the moment. I immediately contacted the company 10 minutes later to complain. They forgot an entire closet full of my clothes, which I had to go back and move myself despite paying for a full-service move. The movers also left their trash behind for me to clean up afterward. The clothes they did move were handled terribly -- I had them wrapped and on hangers in garbage bags and instead of hanging them up, they threw all my clothes into a large messy pile on the floor. One of the movers offered to mount my TV, claiming he knew how to do it. He clearly did not. He didn't have the proper tools and should have declined, but instead left me with large holes in my wall that I now have to pay to have repaired. They also placed an entire storage cabinet backwards and left it wrapped, making it impossible for me to fix or turn on my own. It was obvious they were rushing to get to their next job and completely neglected mine. Despite all of this, I was offered no compensation, no resolution, and no accountability for the damage caused. Please save yourself the stress, time, and money and use another moving company. I will never use Arizona Discount Movers again.
