Hall bath sink top that I found at Stardust for about 1/3 the price of a new one.

I really like Stardust Building Supplies. Stardust is a nonprofit thrift shop offering salvaged & used building materials. I have been recycling for years as I hate throwing things in the landfill. I take any usable construction materials to Stardust. They don't take everything like used carpet, open containers of grout and some other items. I have found quite a few hard to find things there like cabinet doors, drawer fronts, ceramic tile that is no longer in stock and appliances. One time I found a granite sink top that was in great condition. The pictures are the master bath sink that was already there. I was able to find a sink top for the hall bath that matched and was about one third the cost of a new one. It is a plus that you can return things that don't work albeit it has to be within in a few days. Like all thrift stores this is a treasure hunt. Some things are beat up and some are in good shape. They have limited employees so there is not really anyone to help you find things. They also support the animal rescue called Lost Our Home and have one section for large donations like furniture and art.

Wow! This thrift store is awesome. The most organized and…read moreclean store I have ever seen. All the clothes are done so nicely by color and size. And every aisle is tidy and easy to browse. Priced are also VERY reasonable (I didn't see a single clothing item above $10). Most of the toys were also $1 each.

I did have one time I went in there and this is why I'm deducting a single star. I asked them if there was any way they could lower the price of a Montana bag that was marked at retail price on Amazon. He said that he could not, and that the prices are set in stone once they go out and that they would have to pull it back and give a note saying that it is overpriced. That did make me laugh. On the other hand, I have found wonderful deals. I got my husband an Apple Watch there for only $45 wowser that was good. Then because I have noticed that a lot of of the petite outfits for girls who are small with big chest, which would be me. You can find some really pretty outfits that don't look like Mormon clothes. I can actually say that they push you to change your wardrobe when you're part of the church. That's a positive for me because I want don't care if someone dislikes the way I dress and two they have really good brands for reasonable prices. I really hope they stay reasonable because they have so many clothes to look through that if they up their prices, it's just going to make it to where people are going to stop shopping there. I went there determine to find new clothes for my changing body because I went from a size 16. I was a big girl too a size 4 and I needed new clothes. I got myself a whole new wardrobe dresses skirts shirt, shirts, tank tops vest and even some new workout clothes for about $95 which when I say I got a lot of clothes, I got a lot of clothes not all in the same time but I kept receipts. I added up and I spent $95 on clothes. Now on my children's book collection two dollars for heart covers and one dollar for soft covers. You can't beat that. Now, for the people who work there, I feel really bad for them because many of them can't speak English or handicap or speak very little English, and also not always all there in the head. I have noticed going in there very often in the morning that the blue aprons are treated like trash by the managers. Yes I have gone there so often that I have noticed a routine. If you're looking to work there, please please remember that you are a human and you deserve to be treated with respect. For this being run by a church, I know that they treat people wrong and it's sad.

Incompetence doesn't come close to describing these people! I spoke with Nisha, the manager…read moreyesterday regarding my pickup for today. I'm severely disabled and in a scooter because I can't walk. I have nerve damage in my arms and hands. I explained everything to Nisha and asked for her help. I know drivers don't go inside your place yet, in this case would they compromise? She immediately agreed it would be fine for the drivers to help bring my things out to the truck since I obviously couldn't. She assured me she was putting notes in my account for the drivers. I asked her if she would have the driver text me 15 minutes before he arrived so I would have enough time to could go outside and wait for them. She told me she actually requested a 30 minute notice to give me extra time. At 10:30am this morning, the driver left a voicemail instead of a text like I asked, telling me he was calling with my 30 minute notice. He repeated his message letting me know he would be here at 11am. I sat outside in the hot heat waiting for them until 11:47am! I called and texted him and he never responded once. I called and left messages for Nisha and she never responded back but deliberately avoided me. The girl who answered the phone who needs a serious attitude adjustment and training in customer service is so difficult as to understand, treated me like trash. Whatever she said to the driver, he arrived with a similar nasty attitude. Claiming Nisha didn't say anything to him about what she promised me yesterday and he doesn't see the notes she put in his driver log. In other words, he was cc,offended I called asking where he was. He refused to call her but told me to. Saying if you can reach her, I will come back. Knowing Nisha is avoiding me after going back on her promise. Don't bother donating your money or items to people without integrity who treat disabled seniors this way.

I get the feeling this location receives the cast-offs because I frequent the location in Chandler which has much nicer items than what I witnessed at this store. The staff seemed to be more concerned with carrying on their excited conversation behind the counter than to help any of the customers. I like to frequent not for profit thrift stores like these, but they really need to step up their game to get people in the door.
