I called Frank after seeing his Yelp reviews to come out and give me an estimate on demolition of a patio and grading my backyard for paver installation. We walked the job, he seemed knowledgeable, and said he would send a quote later that day. I never heard from him again. I'm guessing it's because I pressed him on whether or not he was licensed and insured. I will not hire anyone to work on my property that isn't. When I mentioned I would call 811 to have utilities marked before digging he said I didn't need to do that. Well, it's the law, at least in Litchfield Park. Some of the digging was exactly where there are utility lines. I also could not find his DOT number or company listed in the US Dept of Transportation database. I have a backyard approximately 20 x 20 That had way too much dirt and stone on it and wanted leveled, graded and the excess material removed. I contacted a few vendors thet claim to be able to handle cleanup and Haul away of this material, but either got no or little response. When I called Frank he was very attentive and interested, and texted me back saying he would be there within the hour to look and see what could be done. He took a look at the job and gave me a fair and reasonable estimate. He arrived on the agreed to date, with his assistant Vince. They offloaded the bobcat and after some unforeseen disassembly of a gate for access, Frank got into the backyard and commenced with his magic. It took some hours to get all of it removed but when it was completed it was a great job. The area was well leveled and they did a great job of cleanup as well. All in all to accomplish what he did in a few hours would've taken the crew many days with a shovel and wheelbarrow. Frank came out to assess the requested work the same day that I put the request in. He and his partner removed an underground boulder where we needed to plant some roses. They moved the boulder to another part of the yard as a display piece. They also were able to dig through rock hard ground to plant two vines and a peach tree on the same visit.
