I had to have some insurance work done after a minor traffic collision. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and got things done in a timely manner. Hopefully, I won't need them in the future but if I do, I'll be back for repairs. read more

I've had caliber collision perform service on my vehicles twice. Both times were through referral through my insurance. The first time was as expected, repairs were done in a reasonable time, received texts and calls to keep me updated, the expected. The second time is what I am writing about now. I took My car in to have repairs done in the front bumper. All was fine, or so I thought. About 6 months later, I hear a strange sound coming from my car. I take it to the dealer to see what is wrong. 169 dollars later, I find out that while repairing my car, they had not replaced a part. After informing them, they admitted that was what happened, and inform me they will call me when they get the part in. It has been 2 weeks, and nothing. Not a call or email to say the part was ordered, no estimated time of arrival, no offer for a rental car, nothing. So I am now driving a vehicle with a missing part, which has already caused an issue once, and have heard nothing from the company that damaged it. I can only hope that damage isn't being done to my car, since I wasn't told one way or the other. Apparently if they aren't getting paid, there isn't much incentive to reach out. read more

Andrew was great! Answered all my questions in a friendly manner and got the job done fast!

Exceptional service. Overall I had a great experience working with caliber on my repairs!

This is my second time rating caliber collision. The first time, I was involved in a no fault collision and the other person's insurance was paying for the damages. CC was one of the service providers on their list so I decided to give them a try. I rated 5 stars because it was a great experience. This time however was completely different. I was paying out of pocket for minor damage to my car so I wanted to get a few quotes to see how much it would cost. Caliber was my third quote and it was doozy! Minor bumper work they quoted me $1200 and itemized 9 hours labor. Two other reputable body shops quoted me $500 & $620 for the same work. For some reason Yelp won't allow me to upload photos...I'd love to share with you how minor the work is. read more

Our automatic gate malfunctioned pulling out of the driveway, clipping and dislodging the passenger side of our front bumper. We contacted our automotive repair shop, who in turn recommended Caliber Collision. Fearing the worst, we called our insurance company and got the claim assigned to Caliber, which I am glad we did. When my fiancé took the car over (I was out of town on business), Jessie popped the hood, took one look, and managed to reattach the bumper into the existing slots. There was a pin that broke, so he sourced a new one from the shop, put the new clip on and the bumper was as good as new. My fiancé was ready and more than happy to pay the bill, but Jessie said no charge. Professional, fast, honest and friendly. What more can you ask for in today's world. Wish I could give Caliber Collision 10 stars!!! read more

Went to the one in La Mesa. I had a car accident and they called the next morning to set up an appt. Thank goodness someone cancelled and I was able to get in same day. The ladies who are on the phones were super nice. I checked in with them and while waiting heard them on the phones and talking to others, very personable. When I was waiting for a while they called my specialist again to remind him I was waiting which really made this a 5 star review. I hate waiting especially when I've already booked an appointment. My specialist was fast, efficient, and had my report typed up and sent to both the insurance and I in under an hour. Such a relief for a stressful situation such as a car accident! read more

Jesse at Caliber Collision is the best! Unfortunately I was in a car accident and used this body shop to get my car fixed. Jesse has the best customer service and continuously followed up with me to give me updates on my car. He even delivered my car directly to my house and took my Rent-A-Car and turned it in for me to enterprise. He went above and beyond my expectations! Highly recommended! read more

What can I say about Caliber Collison? Had a car accident and we researched many places and Caliber collision was an approved shop for the insurance company. I looked up reviews and they were fairly okay, but not great. In any event , we decided to give them a shot. BIG MISTAKE!!! These guys completed the repair and left the car a different color than the actually car. On top of that, one of the parts they replaced started to fall off. These guys just basically want to get the car in and out as fast as possible!!! They don't check their work twice and just want to charge the insurance company for their crap service. Stay away from these at all costs!!! They are very sloppy and wont do their job right! When we got the car back, they even left some of the tape from their work inside the gas cap area. WOW!! Sloppy, messy, and incompetent. Stay away at all costs! Go somewhere else!! You will regret bringing your car here. Bumper piece is coming off, do not trusts these guys!!! You willl be sorry!!! Biggest nightmare auto body place ever! Complete idiots, tried three times to fix. Go elsewhere!!! Beware!!! read more

This place is awful. First the girl that did the estimate said it was just cosmetic damage and I could drive it home. I told her I thought there was more damage underneath and she said no it's safe to drive. She made me feel dumb when I said i thought it has some type of frame damage because my steering wheel was bent to the right. Come to find out I had a bent strut driving around with kids. Then they messed up my battery which made my alternator go bad. I think they switched the positive and negative wires on the wrong place. Then I get it back and my glove box won't line up right so it doesn't open and close right. They told my insurance it wasn't from the accident. They don't respond and are rude. I'm normally a very patient and understanding person, but this is ridiculous. Steer clear. read more

The stereotype that Asian drivers can't drive may be true in my case. Though, I am only half Chinese but I'm a full part shitty driver. Below is my resume for incidents Caliber Collision has helped me with. July 16th 1996- At a gas station I was pulling in to fill up my sister's truck, and pulled to far past the pump. I threw open the door, stuck my head out, backed up, and didn't see the concrete pole that bent my door 180 degrees forward "Tommy Boy" style. March 20th 1998- Driving home on Highway 1 I feel tired and start to doze off and slowly hit a minivan driving next to me. February 24th 2001- I fail to check my blind spot and send a car into the gravel on the freeway, they loose control, and hit another car of five passengers sending that car into a ditch. The other car drifts across the freeway, hits a curb, and flips three times. Luckily no one was hurt. December 16th 2008- I have been accident free for quite some time now but I crash into my garage. All these damages were fixed by Caliber Collisions. They do a fine job getting your car looking perfect again and will return it detailed. read more

I'm totally redoing my review. I feel Yelp is a forum for the consumers, independent of the business we go to. But I received a call within hours of posting a negative review of Caliber. I feel this is too little too late and invasive of my use of Yelp. Yelp I thought was for me, but it seems Yelp is now for business owners and Yelp itself. Google the lawsuits against them, Yelp, if you want to know more. So here is my new, more current review of Caliber. Still two stars though. This is just a review of my experiences this week, not with any of the other cars I've had to take there. "I had an appointment on a Monday at 930am. I was there at 930am. My service writer was helping someone else at my appointment time and asked me if I could come back Tuesday at the same time as they 'were really busy.' Very annoyed, I agreed. I have a life as well and if I make an appointment you should freaking keep it. Not tell me you are busy and ask me to bring a wrecked car clear across town again the next day. Secondly when I did return the next day we discussed the possibility of the car being totaled. When I asked him how USAA valuated a total he told me he didn't know the process. I find this very hard to believe as I doubt I am the first person to have a car totaled and then with that insurance company. I have little time for people who are button pushers and don't know or own the process they are involved with. Third, I was told I would be called that Tuesday afternoon. I never was. When I called Thursday morning the front desk girl was rude and unhelpful. She simply collected my info and said I would be called later. Again, do what you say you are going to do. If you say you are going to call me Tuesday afternoon, do it. If I ask you a question, give me a real answer. If I call you two days after you are late calling me, then get me and answer. Do not be short with me on the telephone telling me it takes 48 hours when it is already past that and you've already pushed my appointment back because 'we're busy'." Average work, less than average treatment of their customers. Why do I go back? USAA will not pay for a claim at the body shop I would prefer to use. I will be looking for a different place on their "preferred" list. read more

It took 2 phone calls from my insurance company and 2 phone calls from me to have the shop arrange for a tow truck to pick up my non-driveable car from my home. Brandon told my insurance company he's arranging the tow initially, I waited all day, then when I called them directly, he said they do not arrange for tow. My insurance company called them again and he ended up speaking to his supervisor. For a shop who is sponsored by my insurance company, service was terrible. Brandon is rude and should not be answering the phones. Frank, my service advisor, however was knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for calling me like you promised. Having a car accident is a major stressor. It does not take much to give great service. Please reiterate that to your employees. read more

Good, high quality work! Car was done fast. Very good service, kept me updated during repair process.

I was referred here by AAA #the other guys insurance company.... They actually took great care of me here as in the estimation process.. The work was done in a timely manner... only 4 days because they had to replace my rear bumper... I'm guessing that's probably the normal time period to finish body work....IDK.... Not big deal because AAA covered my car rental... Just one thing did bother me...It was the front desk... They are just lacking something... Oh yea its called interpersonal skills...other than that It was a great place to get auto-body work done... read more

Wow! My car was a hit and run but i was parked! The back bumper and trunk was smashed in. My car was hit so hard it was pushed into the parked car in front of me. So, both ends were smashed. I was directed by my insurance to go to Caliber Collision. They took my car in that day. Javier was kind and courteous. I explained i needed the car as soon as possible as we were going out of state on a long vacation. He talked to his guys and said they'd work overtime just to get it done. And they did! Even a day earlier than expected. I couldn't have asked for more. But wait, they cleaned my car, inside and out! Just wow! I hope to never need them again but if i do i wouldn't hesitate to go back to them. Thank you, just thank you! read more

So I was in a car accident and got hit on the rear left side/tire area. When I got my car returned to me I noticed that the same tire was still on there and the door wasn't aligned correctly, it was sticking out. My husband was not satisfied with that and asked if they inspect the car before releasing it because they didn't change the tire or align the door properly. My husbands concern was that it might look ok but what if while we're driving it pops on the road since it already had a big impact on it from the car accident. There answer to everything was that everything is insured. My husband kept explaining why it's a safety hazard and again they would say it's all insured. Ok we don't need it to be insured we need it to be safe. Then eventually it got changed but after a couple days of arguing. Then we noticed that our eco mode wasn't turning on or off on the display screen so again we took it back. Long story short that never got fixed. read more

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate to repair my Promaster van. I waited in the lobby for ten minutes for the estimator to look at my vehicle. His name was Gomez. After looking at my vehicle and taking some photos he said they would contact me the next day. Two days went by and no one contacted me. I called them and they said Gomez was out and they would have some one else do the estimate. They said they would email it to me the next day. No email. I called them again. They said the service manager Sergio would call me back. No call. This was the most frustrating experience I have ever had with auto service. I would not recommend these people to anyone. read more
