Caliber collision is the absolute WORST place ive ever been to. 1. They didnt fix the damage to my car which is what it was there for. 2. They painted rocks into my car. 3. They lied about my car being aligned. Ive got the paperwork saying its aligned but the other shops said it wasn't. My insurance is having a field day with them. And their GM? Yeah, he said he would fix it by "going the extra mile" to fix the paint on my car. As if that wasn't something he was already liable for. Ruby told me to even go to the mechanic that they use and speak to him because she had no idea what was actually wrong with my car and this guy's down the street. She told me to literally leave their facility and go down the street to ask about what's wrong with my car. This is the most unprofessional, least skilled, and mismanaged place I've ever been to. And every single other shop says the same thing about them as well. read more

Caliber Collision - Body Shops Near Me - La Mesa, California

Good Afternoon, I would like to express how grateful I am to have visited the Caliber Collision Center in La Mesa. I had initially taken my car to another body repair shop nearby to have my front end painted and some dents removed. I became extremely dissatisfied over the next few days with the manager and his poor communication skills. Over a two-day period, I would receive a phone call about another so-called issue with my car that should have been explained initially. The last straw was when they removed my front bumper then told me it had been glued on and that they didn't want to take the risk of putting it back on with screws since it wasn't something they were comfortable with doing. I then took my car to Caliber Collision and from the very beginning, Alfredo (Perez) listened to my concerns and then took the time to carefully explain about the parts needed along with the estimate. He made sure that all of my questions were then answered to the fullest. I was very impressed with his level of expertise and professionalism. After making the decision to drop off my car, he made sure to contact me daily on its status to keep me abreast of any changes. In the end, I received another front bumper which was painted and all of the dents and scratches were removed. My car looks brand new, and the final repair cost was very affordable. If I had left my car at the other shop, it would have been way more and none of my other concerns would have been touched without having to pay thousands more and I'm pretty sure I would have been stuck with my old front-end bumper. I would highly recommend Caliber Collision on Center Drive in La Mesa and ask for Alfredo. My sincere thanks to both him and everyone who worked on my car. I'm a customer now for life. Mary S. If you want your car fixed properly do not take it here. The person handling the claim was great but I noticed that there is a disconnect between them and the techs. I happened to be present when the handler brought up my concerns to one of the techs and he basically told him he wasn't going to fix it. I took the car back a second time and the panel alignment was off, color and finish of the paint was off. To top it off they lost my floor jack. I gave up and to my car as is. read more

Extremely upset with my experience at Caliber Collision on Center Drive. I brought my truck in for a minor rear bumper repair. The repair itself was fine, and the service advisor was professional--but everything else about this experience was unacceptable. While my vehicle was in their possession for several days, someone went through my truck and money I had hidden in a secure, non-obvious location went missing. This was not visible or easy to find--you would have to deliberately search through the vehicle to locate it. When I brought this to management's attention, they did nothing. No accountability, no effort to investigate, and no concern shown. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told no. That response is just as concerning as the incident itself. If a business is unwilling to even address a situation like this, that says everything you need to know. You are required to leave your keys with them, which gives full access to your entire vehicle. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend removing ALL valuables before leaving your car here--or better yet, consider going somewhere else entirely. I will not be returning. read more

I've now had to bring my car to Caliber Collision twice after being hit, and both times the experience has been incredibly smooth and stress-free. Their team communicates clearly, keeps you updated throughout the process, and the repairs were done quickly with excellent results. My car looked perfect when I got it back. It's never fun dealing with an accident, but they make the repair process seamless and easy. I really appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs collision repair. Thanks Benjamin! read more

That big and nice business it's a big scam. In the beginning, they told me that it's gonna take them maximum one month to fix the car in the end Took them three months to fix a bumper and a fender And after three months, return my car with disconnected parts broken parts and glue sign all over my car. Not professional! Bad customer service! Shitty job! read more

10/10 experience at this Caliber Collision!! Miguel is amazing and super friendly, and he kept me updated consistently throughout the whole repair process. I was out of town for most of the repair, and by the time I got back it was late Friday night. Normally they would be closed on the weekends, but he let me come pick it up Saturday morning so I wouldn't have to get a rental car. Thank you again Miguel and Caliber Collision La Mesa!! :) read more

I am clearly overdue in writing about my experience with caliber collision! I had a run in with a stationary street roller and scratched the entire passenger side of my car. (yep. it happened.) my insurance company recommended caliber- so off I went. I was greeted by Julie. such a fun young, accommodating lady. but the stars and stripes, glitter and gold plus some fireworks goes out to David leyva, my service advisor!! david doesn't just do his job. he goes up and beyond, sideways and forward!! he provided me with golden customer service!! I was informed of the status of my car's repair every step of the way!! couldn't be happier! he surely represents caliber collision in an amazing way!! kudos to David!! what a guy. I do not want to come back for any reason- but if I must, David will be my main man!! terrific guy!! read more

My car was hit at a 4 way stop by someone skipping their turn and it dented my radiator frame and knocked the front bumper off. I took it here and David was very helpful in making sure I got it back in a timely manner by ordering the parts before I dropped it off for the repair. It looked perfect, good as new, when I got it back and had been repainted which covered up minor dings on the side. read more

Save yourself some time and just take your car somewhere else. Tried for a month to get my car in for work, went to shop 3 times. Never got a single call/text or email back. Manager Chuck was useless and insulting. read more

I came in on a Friday morning to get a quick estimate which they said would take 15-20 minutes tops. Although they had asked me to schedule and come back Tuesday morning which I did. Not only did we start late but they had the completely wrong car attached to my file. After the estimate, I was told I would have it sent to my email in just a few minutes. I waited the whole business day and called back at the end of the day to check on it. They asked me to wait on the phone which I did for 15 minutes while they looked for it and I ultimately lost my patience and hung up since they forgot to mute themselves and were talking bad about me. Feels like they are completely unorganized over there and customer care is not of importance. read more

The Caliber Collision at 8310 Centet Dr. in La Mesa, CA. did a great job and they delivered the finished product about a week ahead of time. David Leyva, our contact person kept us apprised every step of the way. He was very thorough on the initial evaluation, and that level of care was evident throughout our contact with him. We were very pleased with the service and the result. Steve read more

Still no update from Miguel, contacted community manager via email twice and no reply. My bumper is still left with brand new chips and scratches & scratches that weren't fixed. I need compensation since they can't get it right after visiting them multiple times. I will not bring my vehicle back because everytime I do there's always a new issue arising. Sloppy work, seems like they don't double check what they're doing. read more

On the Friday before Memorial Day, as I entered the 125 Freeway northbound at Fletcher Parkway, a tree was laying across the roadway that had apparently just fallen in the morning wind. I could not see it since it was pitch black at 5:00 a.m. As a result, my car struck the tree. I immediately drove home [I live nearby to the location] and took my other car to work. Later that morning, I called my insurance carrier, Wawanesa, to report the incident. Caliber Collision is on their approved list for repairs, which makes for a more expedited process. The interaction at Caliber with all the staff was pleasant, and a new front grill was placed on my car within a few days. My assigned Caliber service advisor, Mikhail Abramov, was thorough and efficient, and he answered all of my questions to my complete satisfaction. read more

So far I'm happy with the work, I read the reviews about 5 years ago the customer was unhappy but that was 5 years ago and I wanted to try them out. The part I liked is when I got a text every Tuesday and Thursday what was being done. I hope they continue the good work. The staff was very nice. I hope the paint was as good as mine was before they worked on my car. Thank you again for your services.. read more

Great shop! If I ever need repairs again, definitely coming back to this location. Very clean office!

Absolutely terrible service all around. Ultimately ended up with more issues than when I brought my car in and they scammed me out of my money since I had to involve an entire separate agency to review their work which was deemed faulty. read more

I worked with David Perez and had a great experience. Even when my insurance company refused to cover repairs and wanted to declare my vehicle a total loss, David worked with us to get the repairs done outside of insurance as all the damage was purely cosmetic. This shop was referred by my insurance for estimate and repair. The experience was horrible. The service advisor assigned to me got offended because I recorded the interaction when he was conducting the estimate. The service advisor asked me if I was getting a rental I told him yes. He advised me to go get my rental and return in 20 minutes. I thought it was odd I didn't get the estimate and paperwork immediately. After I went to get my rental the manager was waiting in the lobby to tell me they could not warranty or repair my car. They would not do the repairs. The Manager also told me I could not record because I was on private property. His boss was available David Adams the Regional Manager and David told me I had a right to record my vehicle. However, he did not want to be on camera. David proceeded to call a Regional Manager at my insurance company to notify them they would not conduct repairs. They discriminated against a fully insured female. They were referred to me. I did not want into the shop off the streets. I set up an appointment. I had to go turn in my rental car. This was an unproductive off day for me. The worst part is this is a business with a high rating through my car insurance. read more

Raul and his team helped me out after an unfortunate rear ending incident. I was really impressed by the professionalism, courtesy, and honesty through each step of my car being taken care of, despite some supply chain holdups during the process. A plus, the location is right next to Enterpise for renting a car to hold you over. Thanks guys! read more

Miguel made the process of getting my car fixed very easy and he made sure to communicate/ update me throughout the whole process!

I discovered back up lights were non-functional so I called Jesse at Caliber because I suspected it was a result of work performed by Caliber. Jesse said to come in at any time convenient for me and he would take a look. I was at the shop for 25 minutes in which time Caliber found the problem to be a burned out bulb, so they replaced both back up light bulbs. When I offered to pay for the parts, Jesse said not to worry about it. The customer service at Caliber and especially Jesse is the best. FIVE STARS PLUS and thank you. Rodney George read more

No one comes here on a happy note. However, I was taken good care of, after someone hit my car in a parking lot (shocker alert - they didn't leave a note). Key notes: GREAT communication: I always knew the status. GREAT work: done correctly, and with out apparent flaw. NOT ON TIME: they didn't feel that the work was done correctly, and were clearing something up: I couldn't tell. But that's a testament to quality. read more

Took my Subaru in after a head-on collision. They did great body work/color matching and sent me on my way. Noticed a few months later that I had uneven tire wear - the alignment was off. I checked the invoice and saw they'd done nothing mechanical, only body work. Alignment and suspension check should be standard after a collision. Took it back. They assessed and fixed the alignment under warranty and offered no apology. Then tried to send me on my way with the bald tire, tread depth difference way out of spec, and mismatched low tire pressure with no comment. The manager told me that their policy is not to check the alignment and suspension unless there is direct tire damage. I declined to take the car until they'd spoken to the adjuster about covering tires. They must have misrepresented the issue, because they said he said "no" to them, but once I got him on the phone and explained the situation details, he immediately offered to reimburse prorated tires. At this point, I am out an extra $ above my deductible for a new set of tires and realignment and a whole lot of time. And my car and temper has sustained additional wear and tear due to their minimalist work ethic. Working with this shop feels like dealing with a low motivation middle schooler. Aren't there rubrics for this shit? Expect to check their work at every step and still get C-level work. 07/2020 My battery died today. Got it checked out with the wonderfully helpful people at Batteries + Bulbs and they showed me that the new battery I was billed for by Caliber was either not actually replaced or was replaced with an old one from 2016. At this point, neither option surprises me. read more

Customer service was good. Hector was my repairman contact. He was very responsive and timely with all calls. My car was ready 2 days sooner than quoted which was a plus. However I had to take it back bcuz they forgot to contact something. So I had to take off work again and wait 35 minutes for fix... connect something that should've be done initially. read more

I had an accident and was given the name of Caliber by my AAA agent. I called and asked if I needed an appointment and was told that I could have it towed to them and no appointment was necessary since I was a AAA member. Two days later I got a call saying they can't fix cars with my kind of damage at this location (no one asked what level of damage I had prior to this) and did they have my permission to tow my car to their San Marcos shop at their expense. That was two weeks ago and I have not heard a word from them except for a link to a billing page for my vehicle which shows a $142. charge for the tow. They still have not even processed my car into their system nor determined if it is totaled or repairable. If anyone had given me any indication that it would take this long I would have gone elsewhere. Now my car is basically being held hostage with no word about when or if they are going to fix it. read more

I took my truck to Caliber because I've done business with them before and thought I could trust them. They did an original quote to paint my hood and tail.gate that I was happy with. When I dropped off my truck, Francisco told me that he forgot to add the blending of both of the front fenders to match the paint in the estimate. Came out to about 800 dollars more. I understood and agreed. When I picked up my truck, the fender paint had not been blended in to match the new paint on the hood. Francisco told me that he originally had the labor for the hood at 5 hours and the tech asked for 10 hours. So, they decided not to blend the fenders to match the hood. So I don't understand how he could quote me for doing the whole hood and then it take twice as long. Francisco charged me for work that was not done and doctored the records. The difference between the original quote and the reciept doesn't add up. When questioned, Francisco told me that there were miscellaneous charges that made up the difference. I cannot recommend this location, and I will never do business here again. Also, they painted my tailgate and didn't do a good job. They painted over chipped paint and charged me for new vehicle name letters when I don't even know if they used new letters.Watch out for this company. They will cheat you. Francisco needs to learn how to quote an estimate on a job if he doesn't know how read more

They were so helpful and informative! It was my first time ever needing repairs after an accident so I didn't know what to except and I was so nervous but they really went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and make me feel comfortable. They don't deserve one star, though I'm pretty unsatisfied with my last visit. I show up around 9:05 for my 9:00 appointment. There's another guy already waiting for the same service advisor (SA). Is the other guy running really late, really early, or did they double book the SA? They SA finally comes out...and helps me first. Thank goodness they got that right and honored their appointment. Later that morning I get a call from the SA. He doesn't have an estimate for me (so they can start repairs), but he says his shop is overbooked and is it okay if they send my car to another Caliber in the area. I say no problem, whatever is quickest to get the car back to me. 24 hours later, and I haven't heard from the other shop. After extended effort on my part, I'm finally in touch with an SA there. And six business days later, I finally get my car back (though the repair was supposed to take four or less). I'm not urging anyone to completely boycott this place, just be aware of some of their customer service practices. read more

1) they're closed on the weekends, which is major inconvenience for me to get off work early enough to catch them before closing time 2) they don't take cash. RIDICULOUS! I came here with cash in hand just to be told to go to the bank and either get a check or pay by credit card. On my way to the bank, I get a call saying that their manager was willing to pay with his credit card if I gave him cash. Like what? Why have me leave and when I'm pulling up to the bank call me with this suggestion? 3) after I came back with a check, the manager met me outside and told me that he'd give me a call within the next few days. He ordered something for my car and was supposed to let me know when it arrived. Guess what? It's been almost a month and I haven't heard back from anyone. I went through them because of my insurance and will not be returning. I should've just went through my own body shop that is actually open on Saturdays and Sundays and take cash. read more
