If you want your car fixed properly do not take it here. The person handling the claim was great but I noticed that there is a disconnect between them and the techs. I happened to be present when the handler brought up my concerns to one of the techs and he basically told him he wasn't going to fix it. Extremely upset with my experience at Caliber Collision on Center Drive. I brought my truck in for a minor rear bumper repair. The repair itself was fine, and the service advisor was professional--but everything else about this experience was unacceptable. While my vehicle was in their possession for several days, someone went through my truck and money I had hidden in a secure, non-obvious location went missing. This was not visible or easy to find--you would have to deliberately search through the vehicle to locate it. When I brought this to management's attention, they did nothing. No accountability, no effort to investigate, and no concern shown. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told no. That response is just as concerning as the incident itself. If a business is unwilling to even address a situation like this, that says everything you need to know. You are required to leave your keys with them, which gives full access to your entire vehicle. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend removing ALL valuables before leaving your car here--or better yet, consider going somewhere else entirely. I will not be returning. read more

I came in on a Friday morning to get a quick estimate which they said would take 15-20 minutes tops. Although they had asked me to schedule and come back Tuesday morning which I did. Not only did we start late but they had the completely wrong car attached to my file. After the estimate, I was told I would have it sent to my email in just a few minutes. I waited the whole business day and called back at the end of the day to check on it. They asked me to wait on the phone which I did for 15 minutes while they looked for it and I ultimately lost my patience and hung up since they forgot to mute themselves and were talking bad about me. My car was hit at a 4 way stop by someone skipping their turn and it dented my radiator frame and knocked the front bumper off. I took it here and David was very helpful in making sure I got it back in a timely manner by ordering the parts before I dropped it off for the repair. On the Friday before Memorial Day, as I entered the 125 Freeway northbound at Fletcher Parkway, a tree was laying across the roadway that had apparently just fallen in the morning wind. I could not see it since it was pitch black at 5:00 a.m. As a result, my car struck the tree. I immediately drove home [I live nearby to the location] and took my other car to work. Later that morning, I called my insurance carrier, Wawanesa, to report the incident. Caliber Collision is on their approved list for repairs, which makes for a more expedited process. I worked with David Perez and had a great experience. Even when my insurance company refused to cover repairs and wanted to declare my vehicle a total loss, David worked with us to get the repairs done outside of insurance as all the damage was purely cosmetic. This shop was referred by my insurance for estimate and repair. The experience was horrible. The service advisor assigned to me got offended because I recorded the interaction when he was conducting the estimate. The service advisor asked me if I was getting a rental I told him yes. He advised me to go get my rental and return in 20 minutes. I thought it was odd I didn't get the estimate and paperwork immediately. After I went to get my rental the manager was waiting in the lobby to tell me they could not warranty or repair my car. They would not do the repairs. The Manager also told me I could not record because I was on private property. His boss was available David Adams the Regional Manager and David told me I had a right to record my vehicle. However, he did not want to be on camera. David proceeded to call a Regional Manager at my insurance company to notify them they would not conduct repairs. They discriminated against a fully insured female. They were referred to me. I did not want into the shop off the streets. I set up an appointment. I had to go turn in my rental car. This was an unproductive off day for me. The worst part is this is a business with a high rating through my car insurance. read more

I discovered back up lights were non-functional so I called Jesse at Caliber because I suspected it was a result of work performed by Caliber. Jesse said to come in at any time convenient for me and he would take a look. I was at the shop for 25 minutes in which time Caliber found the problem to be a burned out bulb, so they replaced both back up light bulbs. I took my truck to Caliber because I've done business with them before and thought I could trust them. They did an original quote to paint my hood and tail.gate that I was happy with. When I dropped off my truck, Francisco told me that he forgot to add the blending of both of the front fenders to match the paint in the estimate. Came out to about 800 dollars more. I understood and agreed. When I picked up my truck, the fender paint had not been blended in to match the new paint on the hood. Francisco told me that he originally had the labor for the hood at 5 hours and the tech asked for 10 hours. So, they decided not to blend the fenders to match the hood. So I don't understand how he could quote me for doing the whole hood and then it take twice as long. Francisco charged me for work that was not done and doctored the records. The difference between the original quote and the reciept doesn't add up. When questioned, Francisco told me that there were miscellaneous charges that made up the difference. I cannot recommend this location, and I will never do business here again. Also, they painted my tailgate and didn't do a good job. They painted over chipped paint and charged me for new vehicle name letters when I don't even know if they used new letters.Watch out for this company. They will cheat you. Took my Subaru in after a head-on collision. They did great body work/color matching and sent me on my way. Noticed a few months later that I had uneven tire wear - the alignment was off. I checked the invoice and saw they'd done nothing mechanical, only body work. Alignment and suspension check should be standard after a collision. Took it back. They assessed and fixed the alignment under warranty and offered no apology. Then tried to send me on my way with the bald tire, tread depth difference way out of spec, and mismatched low tire pressure with no comment. The manager told me that their policy is not to check the alignment and suspension unless there is direct tire damage. I declined to take the car until they'd spoken to the adjuster about covering tires. They must have misrepresented the issue, because they said he said "no" to them, but once I got him on the phone and explained the situation details, he immediately offered to reimburse prorated tires. At this point, I am out an extra $ above my deductible for a new set of tires and realignment and a whole lot of time. And my car and temper has sustained additional wear and tear due to their minimalist work ethic. Working with this shop feels like dealing with a low motivation middle schooler. Aren't there rubrics for this shit? Expect to check their work at every step and still get C-level work. 07/2020 My battery died today. Got it checked out with the wonderfully helpful people at Batteries + Bulbs and they showed me that the new battery I was billed for by Caliber was either not actually replaced or was replaced with an old one from 2016. I had an accident and was given the name of Caliber by my AAA agent. I called and asked if I needed an appointment and was told that I could have it towed to them and no appointment was necessary since I was a AAA member. Two days later I got a call saying they can't fix cars with my kind of damage at this location (no one asked what level of damage I had prior to this) and did they have my permission to tow my car to their San Marcos shop at their expense. That was two weeks ago and I have not heard a word from them except for a link to a billing page for my vehicle which shows a $142. charge for the tow. They still have not even processed my car into their system nor determined if it is totaled or repairable. If anyone had given me any indication that it would take this long I would have gone elsewhere. Now my car is basically being held hostage with no word about when or if they are going to fix it. read more

1) they're closed on the weekends, which is major inconvenience for me to get off work early enough to catch them before closing time 2) they don't take cash. RIDICULOUS! I came here with cash in hand just to be told to go to the bank and either get a check or pay by credit card. On my way to the bank, I get a call saying that their manager was willing to pay with his credit card if I gave him cash. Like what? Why have me leave and when I'm pulling up to the bank call me with this suggestion? 3) after I came back with a check, the manager met me outside and told me that he'd give me a call within the next few days. He ordered something for my car and was supposed to let me know when it arrived. Guess what? It's been almost a month and I haven't heard back from anyone. I went through them because of my insurance and will not be returning. I should've just went through my own body shop that is actually open on Saturdays and Sundays and take cash. read more

They don't deserve one star, though I'm pretty unsatisfied with my last visit. I show up around 9:05 for my 9:00 appointment. There's another guy already waiting for the same service advisor (SA). Is the other guy running really late, really early, or did they double book the SA? They SA finally comes out...and helps me first. Thank goodness they got that right and honored their appointment. Later that morning I get a call from the SA. He doesn't have an estimate for me (so they can start repairs), but he says his shop is overbooked and is it okay if they send my car to another Caliber in the area. I say no problem, whatever is quickest to get the car back to me. 24 hours later, and I haven't heard from the other shop. After extended effort on my part, I'm finally in touch with an SA there. And six business days later, I finally get my car back (though the repair was supposed to take four or less). I'm not urging anyone to completely boycott this place, just be aware of some of their customer service practices. read more
