From start to finish, the service was great. I was kept informed of the status of repairs. They'll shuttle you if neccessary. The end result is a car that's back to what it was before some numbskull backed into me. Body work, painting, all good. Gap tolerances between sides were within 1/32". And the car was nicely detailed. One thing to keep in mind: credit or debit incurs a 3% service charge. No personal checks. So, not the most consumer friendly policy if your insurance pays you directly for either initial appraisal or total. That might keep me from going back if the estimate was greater than this one. I'm giving Fix a 5, but the cc service charge wasn't told to me up front. Choose accordingly. read more

My 2025 CRV is currently at the shop as I'm writing this review. It was already a big headache dealing with my insurance company (basic communication) but Jodi lowered the stress and made it much easier between my insurance and overall process getting my vehicle worked on. You can't beat great communication regardless via text or phone calls. My neighbor highly recommended this shop/location and base on my experience with the communication and updates, beats expectations and I highly recommend! I'm confident in the quality once my vehicle is ready for pickup! Keep it up and Greatly appreciate Jodi!! She the best! read more

Great Experience, and very Friendly and Professional Staff. I dealt with Jodi and she walked me through the whole repair process from start to finish and kept me updated on my car progress. Jodi made me feel at ease with leaving my car to them! I would highly recommend La Mesa Fix Auto. read more

The people were fantastic. Notified me every day of their progress. Very courteous and helpful. The work was better than professional. The truck was given to me in a very good clean and polished state. I highly recommend their service and would go back again if needed. read more

I've known the owner Sid for decades and his company has always done right by me. This time I worked with a nice man named Jeff, who gave a very fair repair estimate, got the job done efficiently, and communicated with me in a timely fashion. All in all, it's a real pleasure to work with this fine team (and I shouldn't forget Alice at the front desk)! read more

Very good body work after my accident. Great service. Friendly staff. I especially appreciated the ride to work when I had to leave my car. read more

Jr. and his team went above and beyond on my car repairs! Not only did they do what they were supposed to do (basic front and rear bumper repair and whatever things were damaged in between), but they also cleaned my headlight covers, put shine on my tires, and vacuumed out my car before handing it back off to me. Anytime I come to the shop they have free ice cream, great customer service, and free calendars (lol but it was actually extremely useful!) for me to grab. They always provided timely updates via text or email and were very responsive to my calls. Worked with my insurance company to ensure I had everything squared away. I have no complaints. This shop is doing things right and I'd highly recommend anyone considering this place to come! read more

Customer service is amazing! They are so kind and generous and offer fair prices. They are quick and get the job done fast and well. Highly recommend! read more

This place is worthy of a super good review because they worked with my insurance company and with me to make sure that the process went smoothly. I was rear ended and needed to have my car repaired as soon as possible. Fix Auto communicated all of the repairs with me and made sure that I was thoroughly satisfied with the repairs. I'm really glad I chose to bring my car here and get it fixed. I also was able to get my other car buffed out for free, after I saw that someone had also scraped the side of it and not left a note. Brought it in and Ramon went ahead and made it look like it was never touched. Super grateful! read more

I chose this place based on the reviews that I read here on Yelp. I came in to my rear bumper fixed due to motor vehicle collision. Junior was the one who explained the whole process from start to finish. I am very satisfied with the work that was done and my car is looking better than it had in years. When I picked up my car it looked as good as new. Staff is friendly, and they even have a little fridge of ice cream that you can help yourself to. What more can you ask for? I am so happy I came to this place. I highly recommend. read more

I have been using this body shop for years, I recommend to all. The service is the best! Our cars are always fixed back to how they were prior to accidents. I like the ice cream they offer when you come into the shop, a very nice touch. Thank you Sid's Auto body! read more

Scammers. Overwritten estimate for repairs to lift gate and quarter panel when it was only front bumper damage.

Maura was very helpful and updated me on all the things they were doing with my car. Her smile was very welcoming, considering how stressful it is going through a car accident, repairs etc. She helped our process less stressful. The guys here did a amazing job on our 2022 Toyota Corolla hatchback. read more

If I could give Sid's 10 stars I would. My wife was in a fender bender and Sid's was the shop recommended by USAA. From the moment you step into the shop you are greeted warmly and with excellent customer service. Junior and his staff are nothing short of outstanding. Our damage was appraised within a few hours and our repairs were completed 2 days ahead of schedule. As an added bonus they will arrange for the local enterprise rental car to come and pick you up for even speedier service getting your rental. Sid's is a hassle free experience and I highly recommend them for all of your car body repair needs. read more

I've always know this shop as "Sids Auto Body", they have been in La Mesa for over 40 years to my knowledge. That length of time indicates they are a business that is fair, does quality work and can be trusted. The August storm blew my neighbor's tree down and it smashed my 1999 Tacoma's truck bed. I only use the truck for errands and I was happy to hear that Sid's was agreeable to install a used truck bed if I could find a junkyard bed. It all worked out, the work was done in one day! Luis' customer service was great. Thanks Sid, for staying in our neighborhood! read more

Let's start off with my estimator Luis, very nice guy who answered all my questions and helped me through the entire process. I brought my Dodge Durango in for a few scratches that were done by another driver, her insurance covered the damages since she was at fault. Luis was on top of reaching out and getting back to them quickly for us to get the repairs going. Took my car in on a Friday and was given an estimated date for pick up about a week and a half, it was done by the following Friday 5 days earlier then expected! My car came back just as new like damages never happened. Would highly recommend Fix Auto! Loved that they sent me updated texts on the status of my repairs as well :) read more

It's bad enough that I had a fender-bender. No one was hurt, but I still anticipated the pain of dealing with the insurance company and a body shop. Turns out I didn't need to stress out over that part, because we took the car to Sid's* on El Cajon Blvd. From the very beginning, Beth--the manager--made the whole process go smooth as silk. She negotiated with our insurance company, kept us informed every step of the way and managed our expectations like a pro. The car looks beautiful and they detailed it inside and out... even replacing a brake light bulb that they noticed was a bit weak. (Note--the damage was to the front of the car, not the rear.) This is a company that pays attention to detail, and we definitely recommend them. *During the week that our car was being repaired, Sid's went through a name change. They are now part of the Fix Auto family of repair centers. read more

Great experience all around. I had initially taken my car to another collision repair and they quoted a ridiculous amount and more work than needed to be done. Even though my insurance was going to cover it, I didn't feel like this was ethical or necessary. On a friend's recommendation I went to Sid's and met with Jodi Young. She's delightful - smart, friendly, forthright and honest. I received daily text updates and my car looks brand new. I hope I never have to use their services again, but I highly recommend Sid's and especially Jodi. read more

My insurance company set me up with Sid's Auto Body/Fix Auto La Mesa after some doofus backed into my car. Junior, Alice (the receptionist), and everyone I talked to were nice, respectful, and knowledgeable. I know I've had mechanics try to pull the wool over my eyes, but I never once felt these guys had malicious intent with me - I really felt at ease about leaving my car with them. The repairs and paint job were so masterfully done that it looks like my car had never been hit in the first place! Unfortunately since getting my car back the radio cuts out very frequently when I'm turning corners or stopping, but of course that's not something they can troubleshoot when you're sitting on the parking lot so it pisses me off that this is my new reality. read more

I brought my car here to get fixed after my car was victim to theft. I brought my car in on a Friday and it was ready by Monday during a holiday. Junior at the shop was very reliable and sent me text message updates and explained the process very clearly. I would definitely come here again, I felt very confident leaving my car here and Junior made me feel very supported through the process. He had the best intentions for me and made this situation a whole lot easier. When I came to pick up my car it was just washed and sparkling. Love this shop please give it a try! read more

where to start? Warning......RUN. DO NOT use this auto shop, regardless if your insurance company recommends them....and I am a pretty reasonable person. I was hit (t-boned in an intersection, front left side) in my 2014 explorer, which was in PRISTINE condition at the time. Fix Auto La Mesa (FALM) did the repair, and it looked good. $7k in repairs. Took delivery and on the way home, I noticed that the entertainment/navigation system did not work at all. Took it back, they spend an hour "diagnosing". Tell me that they cant figure it out, I would have to take it to the dealer. I did. 10 minutes they diagnosed some "module" needed replaced. $900. I called FALM to try to get it added to the claim, they tell me that they cannot associate it with the accident. Whatever, I pay the dealer and call insurance company who called the dealer and covered it. Less than 100 miles later, I'm on my way to Yuma (near the rest area in Imperial County) when the steering failed. Called FALM and they wanted nothing to do with it. I had it towed to the dealer, who found a failed steering unit. I told them about the accident and repair, and they replaced the steering unit ($750) but did it under the extended warranty and waved the $100 deductible so they wouldn't need to deal with the insurance company. (wrong, IMO, but whatever). It drove fine. But, less than a week later, again heading for Yuma (Golden Acorn), the steering failed again...so I towed it again to the dealer. Dealer takes a few days and diagnosis is the NEW, AFTERMARKET front left axle replaced by FALM is junk, has binding which makes the steering shut down. This time I demand to do it under insurance, which they cover ($900). 3 days later, again,, heading for Yuma (Buckman Springs), again, STEERING FAILURE! Towed back to dealer......this time they took nearly a week diagnosing the problem, probably because this time it was on their dime.....and found that the entire subframe assembly was bent in the accident! They ordered it ($2700) and made the repair, took a few phone calls but insurance covered it under the accident. ALL OF THIS could have been avoided if FIX AUTO LA MESA would have PROPERLY diagnose the damage caused by the accident. MORAL OF THE STORY? If you need accident repair and you want it done correctly, TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. read more

I waited a while before writing a review for this very purpose. I had Sid's do some work on my car after getting rear ended by a hummer in my 350z. When I initially saw the work I was pleased.. But as I've been going through the past work, I've noticed quite a few things that either weren't done properly, broken in the process of repairing, or completely neglected because it wasn't seen in plain sight. A few of these include my right rear wheel well splash guards improperly drilled, which I noticed cleaning my car one day, they tried drilling it at an angle because they put the wheel on before drilling the bottom hole, which looks horrible and the screws fell out. Where my spare tire is, the foam, which is now broken, was improperly secured and missed fasteners to keep it in place. Tools I kept in the trunk near the spare were dumped out in a bag where I kept a funnel and some ratchets (one of which I'm missing now). The taillights are below par compared to my previous ones, which I assume were super polished to hide the scuffs and scratches. There is paint residue in my trunk and the flanges on my rear trunk panel are broken and will not secure properly. (Still after the re-work) The license plate bracket it still messed up and was never replaced. Which is a part bought from Nissan. As weird as it sounds, I forgot to mention that after the accident, my right window wouldn't roll down. I notified the mechanic a day after the initial evaluation. Which I was told, I would have to prove that the accident caused it.... **October Rework Update** I had the car reworked to fix the problems mentioned above... Turns out my car is in worse condition again.. My left splash guard is damaged and still not against the body. My right window panel and handle are damaged, improperly installed, and scratched now. My car had an ashy substance all throughout my car, and the cars exterior was dirty upon pickup. They ordered the wrong parts and tried to have me drop the rental off for the extended time they would have to wait for the improper ordering of parts (3 extra days) I reset my trip odometer to zero when I dropped off the car, when I picked it up it read .9 miles, not sure what it needed to be test drove for.... (It didn't) THE WORST part of it all... I explained my busy schedule to the USAA representative Raymond. I told him I wouldn't be available to pick it up until Friday because I work full time and go to school full time.. He told me he would keep me updated and that customer satisfaction was of the up most importance. I had just got off work Thursday around 3:30 and had received a voicemail saying that the rental would not be paid for any longer and that I would have to take over the payments. The drive from work to the Enterprise was a 50 minute drive, a post inspection needed to be done, and I had to be taken back to Sids to pick up my car. So of course I was late for class and you can tell the maintenance done to the car was rushed so they wouldn't have to pay a measly $120.00 for the rental. Turns out, my car is in worse shape now than when I dropped it off originally. I'm always skeptical about mechanic shop a for this very reason, and now what am I to do? Give my car to them again and hope for the best? I would give negative stars if I could, and will definitely be adding this review to all platforms regarding their business. read more

I had gone to 2 places and called 2 places and this place and Junior was the only one who could help me or was willing to find a way to help me install a tow hitch we had bought from the van dealer (Chrysler Pacifica). Once again had the need for auto body work--the front end design on the Toyota Avalon has a long low overhang and far too often had come in contact with curbs, to the point that the underlining and grill was falling off. Initially I had a good feeling about Sid Fix. They ruined that with some malicious accounting behavior and employee dishonesty. My insurance claim was for repairs to the right front quarter panel. ONLY! A shop employee damaged my car and never took responsibility for it! In fact! I was blamed for the damage. Front drivers door window frame. I COULD NOT EVEN INTENTIONALLY CAUSE THE DAMAGE! The employee opened my drivers door and hit the frame on a machine which was actually still next to my car when I dropped it back off. He hit the door attempted to bend it back in place assuming I wouldn't notice it.. I left the shop with the assurance that they take care of it. So I left and returned the next day. The wrong side was ordered (Probably because they were thinking right side! Where the initial damage was done)....The correct part was ordered and installed. HOWEVER!!! instead of the shop paying for the damage THEIR! employee caused. They maliciously charged my insurance company... WTF! I got a notification of the charge and immediately had the payment stopped! My claim was for my Passenger side quarter panel not the drivers side window. Blatant misuse of the trust my insurance company placed in them... BLATENT! I'm disappointed in you Junior.. Will never use your shop again. read more

Jaime and the guys were so helpful and nice! I felt so welcome in their business and enjoyed a tasty treat that they offered me! They updated me all throughout the process and kept in contact by phone and text every day. They finished my car 3 days early!! It looks so good like I never even had a problem. Hello I am writing to you regarding my bad experience i just had with your car shop located on 7473 Elcajon blvd La Mesa, CA I January i took my car there to get estimated so after this visit i call to make appointment to get my car fixed, i was told that someone will call me at the end of the day to schedule my appointment. Someone called me his name is James or Jaime he is very very very rude and unprofessional he was telling me that my first appointment will be in April so i said it is too far. His answer was there are many places if you wanna take your car somewhere else so i was bummed out that his answer is like that. So i said no thats fine and i asked him when should i take my car ? He said anytime during the day. So today 04/04/22 my husband woke up early to take the car after waiting for three months to found out that James or Jaime didn't schedule my appointment and all he said that he doesn't have appointment for me. And he kept telling me you can take your car somewhere else. I am so disappointed and frustrated from being treated like this. After waiting 3 months to get my car fixed. This person was so rude unprofessional and I don't know what is he still doing there if he got an attitude like that. Sent from my iPhone read more
