From day 1 of my car being here, Jorge kept consistent and constant communication with me. He never sugar coated the timing of when my car would be ready and I was really appreciative of that. His accurate timing made my car rental process headache free. My car did take a lot of time, but this was only because we were waiting on parts to come in from Germany. We took our truck here for some damage to the left front fender bumper and light our experience was terrible. We picked up our 3500 and there was overspray on the hood from some other project they clay barred it off. However we got home and noticed the light that was "Fixed" didn't light up when I unlocked the vehicle. Come to find out the socket and bulb were gone. The new fender liner were held in by 2 screw and the front left splash guard is missing makes me wonder what else is missing. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!! read more

Turns out I didn't need to stress out over that part, because we took the car to Sid's* on El Cajon Blvd. From the very beginning, Beth--the manager--made the whole process go smooth as silk. Quality work backed by a quality warranty I was originally sent to Sid's from the insurance company of a man that rear-ended my car. The damage was pretty minor, but still required the bumper to be replaced and repainted, along with rear-quarter panel work. Jorge (pronounced "George") helped me and was very straight-forward and efficient. Made a date for the fix/return, and even had it done a day early. Car looked great - as good as new. But that's not the end of my review. About 6 months later, I noticed a small, 1/2-inch wide bubble in the new paint on my bumper. I went back to Sid's, and was told it was covered by the warranty. Jorge called a little later that day to schedule a date for the warranty repair. Again, the repair was finished, and looks as good as new. And they don't just return it like you dropped it off - they clean/vacuum/wipe down the interior and leave the car waxed with shiny tires. I highly recommend Sid's - they did me right. read more

This place was so lovely when I got into an accident! Jaime Moreno even sent me an estimate break down after my tear down so I would have an idea of what was going to be replaced! Migel did a beautiful job fixing it and with the paint, you can't tell at all that it had an accident! They even cleaned up the split drink in my cup holder from where my cup broke in the accident and left a lovely note with my dashboard stuff!! I've used sids for several repairs. I have never been dissatisfied. The paint matches 100% and they clear coat everything. They take parts off the car that need to be removed and there has never been an issue.They guarantee their work for as long as own the car, or at least they use to, haven't been there in 3 or 4 years. I've taken my Toyota's and my wife's BMW in for repair two different times. The car is silver with a clear coat. They fixed and matched everything to factory. I never gave it a second look after my pickup and inspection. She still has the car and even after 5 or 6 years the paint is exactly the same. At one time Sid's was repairing SOUTH COUNTY'S BMW wrecked and damaged vehicles, this was when they were located on El Cajon Blvd in the city of El Cajon across the street from BMW. For all I know there still reparing the dealership vehicles.... If it's good enough for BMW it was sure worth a try for me and it worked out perfectly! ! My car had been in an accident and USAA recommended my car be brought here so I did. I have had the worst experience. Not only was the car not fixed right I have had to bring it back twice to get the car repainted and refixed within 3 weeks of getting it back! It wasn't fixed like they said it was when I arrived to pick it up the second time, so I had to wait for them to try and fix it while I stood there. There are scratches all over the other side of my car where there was no damage. I am extremely disappointed that they messed the paint up where there was no damage. I had gotten rear ended and this is where we took my xterra. They failed to replace the hydraulics on the trunk door so every time i load up the trunk I have to hold the door open with my head otherwise it'll fall shut. My mom and I took my car to the shop and I felt like we were very taken advantage because as women we don't know much about cars. They had stolen my spare tire out of my trunk. And for an SUV it's not just a spare tire, it's an actual tire which are really expensive to replace. Do not go here if you want honest work done on your car. Would not recommend. read more

Just picked up my GMC Envoy from Sid's in El Cajon and my wife and I were surprised at the timeliness and quality work. Our pleasant experience began with Jodi Young, who was very friendly, professional and made us feel welcomed. She explained the process and when we left my vehicle we knew it was in good hands. She kept us informed and when the wrong door from Detroit arrived she called and told us what had happened. Great experience beginning to end. Took my Nissan Frontier in for body work/paint on a Monday afternoon and it was ready for me 2 days later. Pounded out, parts replaced, sanded/ painted, and FULLY detailed inside (vacuumed, wiped down with Armoral, and finished off with Mints and a Thank you note for choosing them to do the job), and washed and WAXED outside. The guys in the back are at the top of their game!! Bob (in the office) was pleasant each time we spoke on the phone, (which wasn't that much, because the job completed so fast) and even took the time to check out my spare that I thought was rattling loose down in the undercarriage. Turned out that wasn't it, it was my tailgate, Bob managed to figure out why it was shimmying around every time I turned a corner and fixed it so it wouldn't! They truly go the extra mile here. There was always a fresh pot of coffee brewing each time I went there- 3 times total. Once to drop off insurance information, the 2nd to drop the truck off, and the 3rd to pick up my girl!!! I couldn't believe it was her, she was SO clean. She's usually a dirty girl with mud all over her... Anyhow, Bob PROMISED me it would be done for me by Weds. so my family could take it to Vegas/The Grand Canyon. He was true to his word, and THEN some. He also sent my kids home with lollipops every time we left. I highly recommend Sid's on 1st. Like many others I was referred here by an insurance company when I was rear ended on the freeway last year. Kent helped me out and was incredibly kind and helpful during that experience and even called to yell at the Hertz car rental in El Cajon for me when they were an hour late picking me up. I got the car back a few days after their original estimate because the internal damage was more than it originally appeared. They kept me informed of the delay and passed on the info to the car rental place so I didn't have to deal with them. The car came out looking great as if nothing had happened! The only evidence of the accident was the scuffed license plate :) Fast forward to this week when my trunk mysteriously stopped closing. I brought it in hoping it would be covered under their life time warranty on repairs. Turns out they didn't do any repairs to the part that was messed up but went ahead and fixed it within 15 minutes FOR FREE. JODIE greeted me when I came in, called up my claim walked the car with me and let me know how much it would be unless they found hidden damages when they took the bumper off and was able to see in the trunk. JODIE was 100% professional but her personality was the best. She made sure I had a Lyft driver to the car rental when I turned the car in. My insurance company referred me here after I was involved in an accident, and I had high hopes. If you want a body shop that won't keep you up to date with your repair and constantly keep delaying when your vehicle will be done, this is your place! The individual handling my repair never called with updates during the entire process. And when they finally did call to say my vehicle was done, they called again to say it would take 2 more days... This place uber-screwed me. An insane person ran into me on the highway and did major damage to my car. So my insurance company referred me to Sid's. I was helped by the biggest asshole, the State Farm guy. He would not authorize my car for a mechanical check-up, although we hear weird sounds coming from under the hood. So anyway I let him fix my car. After he was done, he did not contact me. However he did contact my insurance company to try to make me pay for my rental car when he was supposedly done. I actually found out the car was completed when I called up my insurance company to check on something else. When I picked it up, I drove it on the freeway and this horrendous sound like an airplane taking off came from the car. It was obviously un-drivable as it sounded like it was falling apart. I took it Sid's La Mesa to repair. So anyway, I found some more stuff wrong on it yesterday that was fine before the accident and looked on the invoice. It was all the stuff he messed around with. I was backed into and had damage done to my bumper on October 6th. I called Sids and they did the estimate that day and got me in to get my car fixed the 18th with an estimated completion date of the 21st. Once they took off my bumper they found additional damage and told me since the 21st was a Friday that it would be done Monday. Saturday (the 22nd) rolls around and I get a call that my car was done! Jaime worked with me the whole time and he was amazing! From the get go he was kind and courteous. He completed my car ahead of the revised schedule and even washed my car himself (because the detailer didn't work on weekends) before giving it back to me.
