After getting quotes from many places, I decided to go with Earl Scheib. Joe at the El Cajon location (and others) was extremely helpful and explaining the differences of the options. I went with the middle option, which was their platinum paint job. He set the expectations appropriately and I believe the finished product is better than what I expected. This was an older car that I just wanted to add some life to before passing it off to the newest driver in the household. I feel the value I received for the price. I paid also exceeded my expectations. This is a cash only business so be prepared to pay in cash to pick up your vehicle. My 2001 Corvette has only 70,000 original miles, but its original paint was starting to look pretty ratty. No self respecting Corvette should suffer such humiliation. I recently bought one of my dream cars. A 1970 Cadillac Coupe Deville. Previous owner canned it flat black. Also had a couple dents, dings, and rust spots. My brand new 2012 Toyota Tacoma was only five years old when the roof of the cab had the paint and clear coat start to oxidize. Needless to say I was mad. Went to a few shops in the National City/Chula Vista area for quotes. We ended up liking a quote from Zooks in National City. A few days prior to dropping off the car, a friend begs me not to because Zooks in National City messed up her car. So here I go on another hunt for a paint shop. I run across this Earl Scheib and talk to Joe, he says to bring the car in he can look at Zooks quote and help us out. In the end, he didn't beat Zooks quote but came very close. There was 0 sales pushing and straight up honesty. He showed us some of the cars he's done and explained that he doesn't paint to factory standards so it won't be perfect. They tape off stuff and get it as close to perfect as possible but there will be some blemishes here and there. We understood and decided to drop off our car anyway. The roof was getting bad with oxidation so we really wanted to get it paint to save the exterior. We dropped it off on Tuesday of last week and picked it up today (Tuesday of this week). Mike took care of drop off and pick up as well as payment. Both Mike & Joe were really honest and great people to work with and talk to. The price was significantly less than some of the other local shops. It's not perfect, but it's close enough for us and the experience was easy. They did an outstanding job at a SIXTH!! of the price I was quoted by "high end" shops and it comes with a FIVE YEAR warranty. Two tone paint job plus all trim, bumbers, door jabs (5), gas port, and the inside of the hood. They accidentally broke the rear "EXCURSION" emblem trying to take it off. I went in to Schieb Paint & Body because I used to work with the owner's wife. I was just going to get an estimate for some body work and paint for my 2003 Corolla S. It had oxidation all over the hood, roof, and trunk, as well as multiple dents/dings. Joe, the owner, was great--from the beginning! He is very knowledgable and helpful and certainly does not try to upsell anything. They offer 3 basic paint jobs, depending on your price range. He was showing me his son's truck and his own car that he's painted as well. He gave me an estimate, let me pick out colors, and there was absolutely no pressure at all! I dropped the car off the next day (Tuesday) and was planning on picking it up on Thursday. I called Joe on Thursday, just to see if it was ready and he said that he painted the roof a second time, because it didn't look good enough for him. I loved that! I was in no rush to get the car back, and he preferred that it stayed overnight, so I picked it up on Friday. Not a problem at all! Cash and carry is the name of the game at this shop--so prepare yourself. Not only does my car look BRAND NEW, but they buff out my headlights, which were completely fogged over...AND they fixed the wires that connected my sunroof, which now opens! WOOOOOO!!! BONUS! I am so thrilled with the job these guys have done. My car had fading from serious sun damage all over the vehicle. It had vinyl stickers that were cracked and faded. I got the top paint job and well worth the cheap price. the things that needed taped off was perfect, I had low expectations do to the price and they state there could be imperfections but the paint job (painter Angel & pre guys) was 1000 times better than expected. I paint my car in March this year ..It's Corolla 2015 although I choosed the diamond selection for paint (which is better from standard the lowest selection) and ask them to fix dent in a top of car they work on a car for 7 days (they said 3 days) for $1350 .. and when they call me to take my car they put it under the sun in a way you cannot see how it's miserable and horrible paint, dots every where .. when I ask them why is not finishing good they said it's that what you pay for!! And they said it's better to wax it and sell it!! I took it to another shop to sand it and wax it ($300 more)and they told me that they (scheib)used a bad bad type of paint .. that's why it's appear miserable .. I sold it before 2 days .. all these months I hate this car and I don't need anyone to put himself in that situation . Note .. my car was white and I think it's simple color . Pay more to get what you need it's better to go to cheap places and cheap services read more

My 2000 Honda Civic has less than 90,000 miles and runs great so why get rid of it? Terrible (typical) paint fading on this green car. After getting a $4000 quote from a local paint and body shop and $5000 from a Honda dealer, I FB'd friends for recommendations and got one for this place. I remember growing up hearing, "I'll paint any car any color for $19.95" and remember Scheib's reputation for less than quality work. But after reading reviews I decided to take a chance. No upsell here -- Joe lays out the three levels of paint jobs and when asked if he thought the highest price job was the one to choose he said I should choose the best one for my budget. Left my car Monday morning and Wednesday morning it was finished. Signs in the shop advise they do not do "factory paint jobs". i.e., the paint jobs aren't perfect, but are very good. After inspecting the finished job I really don't know how it could have been any more perfect. And at just over $1100 for the highest level paint job including two small dents repaired, I am one happy customer! read more

So I had my Ford F250 painted. I got the diamond plan that last for five years. So what I did is I waited the full five years and brought it back to have them fix any chips or flakes that had happened over the years. When I brought it back they had no problem fixing any flakes that had happened. In fact I had so many flakes that it happened over the years around the windows and edges that they decided to just repaint the whole thing.
