Hello I am writing to you regarding my bad experience i just had with your car shop located on 7473 Elcajon blvd La Mesa, CA I January i took my car there to get estimated so after this visit i call to make appointment to get my car fixed, i was told that someone will call me at the end of the day to schedule my appointment. Someone called me his name is James or Jaime he is very very very rude and unprofessional he was telling me that my first appointment will be in April so i said it is too far. His answer was there are many places if you wanna take your car somewhere else so i was bummed out that his answer is like that. So i said no thats fine and i asked him when should i take my car ? He said anytime during the day. So today 04/04/22 my husband woke up early to take the car after waiting for three months to found out that James or Jaime didn't schedule my appointment and all he said that he doesn't have appointment for me. And he kept telling me you can take your car somewhere else. I am so disappointed and frustrated from being treated like this. After waiting 3 months to get my car fixed. I was referred by my insurance agent because I have a high deductible and was told this place does good deals. I came in on Friday for a quote and estimate and ended up dropping it off that day and was told it would take a couple days. He called me on Monday and told me it was done! I was beyond impressed with the fast service and great customer service. They consistently communicated with me the whole process and sent text alerts to keep me updated also. I got a great deal and to my surprise when I picked up my car it was completely clean and washed and vacuumed and looked brand new. I was not expecting that extra service. They went beyond and above my expectations for a small mom and pop place! Definitely recommend these guys for quick affordable service they work with you and make sure ur satisfied! read more

The work I had done over 2 years ago has really lasted and made a big difference, because the car I drive is at risk for being damaged from the way the parking barriers are set up. But because such a good job was done on my car, it has not had the same problem since I took it into them to replace that front part of my car. They did such great work, and it really lasted! I purchased my 2018 Ford Fusion hybrid just two days before getting drilled on the highway heading towards chula vista. My beautiful new car was hit so hard that I thought it had been totaled. Sid's is the GREATEST!!!! My son got in an accident and Sid's in La Mesa was on the list of repair shops from my insurance company Farmers. When I walked through the door I was met by Jaime. He welcomed me, explained the entire process an promised me he would keep me informed as to what was happening. I felt very comfortably leaving my car there. I was so pleased with the entire process. Jaime kept me informed via phone calls and texts. He had the car ready on the day he promised and even allowed me to come in the next day to pick it up. He explained exactly what they did and honestly it looked like a totally new car. The work done was excellent. I was very happy and my son was ecstatic to get his car back. Sid's is the BEST! I have never written a review before, but no other company has been so deserving. My insurance company USAA sent me there because I was rear-ended on the freeway. Upon entering SIDS the receptionist was warm and friendly and provided a 2018 calendar which was a nice Personal Touch. Junior was my representative and understood all my concerns and exactly what I wanted. ie; I wanted to change my rear bumper from Silver to a satin finish Black, Junior did so at no additional charge. Even though my insurance was paying for everything, the prices were very reasonable and I shall return for any future needs. I dropped off my 2013 Xterra on Tuesday morning and was called back on Wednesday morning with job completed! Super FAST ! I was very impressed. I would also like to give a shout out to Beth who was very diligent and keeping me informed of progress. When I came to Sid's to pick up my car, Beth was very helpful and patient as I loaded my wheelchair. Beth also provided me with some excellent ideas on how to customize my Xterra. I also have several small scratches ( not caused by Sid's ) which I will definitely have Sid's Auto Body take care of when I get my tax return. Took my car here for two repairs and both were shoddy. I got rear ended and they pulled off my bumper cover, refinished it and repainted it. First off, the color didn't match. I took it back and they argued with me about it. They claimed that it's hard to match the color because the two panels have a straight line. They also tried to claim that my factory paint had faded. They even showed me other pictures of crappy paint jobs they did, that also didn't match. I guess that was to try to convince me that I wouldn't be the only one in town, driving a pile. A couple years later, the paint had large faded spots all over the bumper. I guess that explains why the paint didn't match, they must have used the thinnest coat they could possibly get away with. My car was later rear ended and repaired at a shop that was competent. Before my bumper had faded and I still had a tiny bit of faith left in Sid's, I brought it in for some front end damage. My entire front bumper, hood and side panels were replaced and repainted. Looked great out the door, fast forward a few years and guess what? More faded paint on my hood! The hood lost all it's luster and had big patches of paint that were faded through. Am I making this up? No. How so? My insurance adjuster took one look at it and sent me to another shop to have it done right. Thankfully, because I used a recommended shop from my insurance, it was still covered. I cannot reasonably recommend a place that botched both my paint jobs. I've had several other scrapes and fender benders over the years and none of them have been fixed as poorly as Sid's. On top of that, they were anything but friendly at the shop. Their hours are not very good, making it hard for someone who works during the week to drop their car off. They don't work closely with any car rental agency, so you're on your own there. They also never had any of my paperwork ready when I showed up. I was very happy with my repairs when they were first done. It LOOKED like they did a good job, but the half life of a bad paint job quickly fades to a sour taste in your mouth, twice. read more

Body shops are just like hospitals, you should always know where a good one is but hopefully you'll never have to visit one. Unfortunately I had to visit one recently but luckily it was a great shop! What happens when a SDSU girl is on here phone and runs an intersection? Answer: I get t-boned! State Farm ruled she was at fault and willing to fix my vehicle and this was a certified shop. Ron looked the car over and 10 days later my 2003 Civic looked BETTER than before my accident. All the parts were OEM and the people at Sid's did a wonderful job. Even left a little "Thank You" card on the dash when I picked the vehicle up. Very professional, car looks great and Ron was awesome. Highly recommend this place. read more

I was really disappointed with them. I took my car here after a tree trunk fell on it. My luck with cars is unbelievable! Anyway. they have two stars because when I called them on a Friday, they let me bring my car to the shop even though they didn't have time to get to it until the next week. I didn't want it on my street where there tends to be some vandalism so I appreciated this. They were nearly impossible to get in touch with. They never made the effort to call me and when I called them, I was lucky to get a call back. Three weeks later I picked my car up. Here's a list of the things that were wrong: Paint is totally off New scratch on the bumper Somebody threw my full ashtray in the backseat (butts everywhere, gross!) No emissions stickers Hood seal cut but not replaced Missing bolt cover I took the car to another body shop to get their opinion before I went back to Sid's. The very nice man there didn't want to speak badly about somebody else's work, but he did point out that on the inside, the paint isn't supposed to be shiny. It won't damage that car, but it just isn't supposed to be that way. They completely lack attention to detail. They obviously aren't terribly concerned with customer service. They refused to fix the paint, claiming that that was as close as they could get. No, they could get closer, they just didn't want to repaint it. I'm so upset that my car looks like this now. I took it back to them and they fixed the scratch and put the missing things back. They said they were going to detail the car because of the cigarette butt situation, but I'm pretty sure they just picked up the butts and called it a day. Either that or they need a new cleaning guy. Save yourself the hassle and use someone else! read more

They went above and beyond the call of duty, resolving my pushed back front end on a 2002 PT Cruser. I would definately recommend this shop. Update, now I'm not so sure, as I've had problems since, had the car looked at by another mechanic (who knew nothing of the history) and apparently it doesn't look like the work was even done. read more

I had an awesome experience at Sids. I called in and spoke to Ron to arrange a time to have my car examined. I brought my car in that day and he took photographs and ordered the replacement part before I left the shop. The part was at the shop the next day but I dropped my car off a few days later. Ron called the rental car company and they picked me up very quickly. I dropped off the car on a Wednesday and it was done by Friday morning. The work was great and my car looks like new. Ron was friendly, personable, and professional. The entire process was easy and simple. When I got back into my "new" car, they place a couple mints on my dash along with a little sign thanking me for my business. With times being the way they are, "little" touches like that make all the difference. It showed class, which a lot of companies lack nowadays. I had a pretty positive experience with SIDS. I had both my bumpers repaired and now my car looks almost brand new again. I was pleased with the result and the paint looks like the original. Considering my car is 6 years old, I was a bit concerned after reading some of the other reviews on here. Their hours are not the best for dropping off/picking up. They close at 5:30 so it can be a challenge for those that work 9 to 5. They do have Saturday hours in the morning, which worked out fine. My car was ready on Friday, but (working in Sorrento Valley), it's impossible to get there before they closed on Friday, so was able to get it on Saturday. I had a rental so it wasn't that big of a deal for me, but I can imagine that could be a real bummer for those that don't read more

I have brought my car here 2 separate occasions to get my bumper fixed and BOTH times, these folks did a stellar job. They're all so patient, kind, and do a really thorough job. When I realized my AC was also affected by my collision, I brought it back and they immediate started assessing the problem and tried to get me in as quickly as they could to get it taken care of. Junior is amazing, and Syd of course is genuine, warm, and kind. I don't think I could take my car anywhere else for repairs. LOVE this place. read more

I went back because I found overspray on my vehicle. I contacted Jr. who promptly offered to take care of the problem and scheduled a time for me to drop off the car. I bought it in this morning and within an hour they told me the car was cleaned up (from the overspray in the rear chrome wheels and rear bumper). I inspected it and there were still traces of overspray in the wheels. (They removed it from the bumper perfectly). They brought me out a second time to look and finally as I was rubbing my fingers along the wheels to feel the rough surface from the overspray, I ended up using their clay bar and spray and removing it myself. It took 15mins to do the 2 rear wheels. Overspray sucks... it is super easy to overlook; especially because it's almost invisible. In order to remove it, you must look closely and take your time. End of the day, the repair itself was very good but the cleanup was not great. All their staff is very friendly and helpful. If you notice a problem, they will take care of it for you. read more

My 3 month old car got into a pretty bad accident and was taken to SIDS through the insurance company. My new car basically needed a whole new driver side, bumper, and both of my rear axels were snapped. I was very concerned my car wouldn't look brand new anymore but SIDS did a great job. It took them about a month, which was expected, and bob kept my informed on the progress each week. They did a great job matching the paint (which I was very worried about!). My alignment was way off when I finally got my car back, but that was done at big o tires down the street, so I can't blame SIDS for that. Overall I am very happy with them. The SUV still looks just as great as when Sid's did the repair; matched the color perfectly. Today, I picked up by 2017 RAV 4 and again, an outstanding job of the parking lot damage. Bruno Borges was simply the best in getting me an estimate; professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and kept to the estimate that was reasonably priced. You'd never know there was any damage! My car got hit while parked on the street in front of my house. I was concerned about some of the internals being damaged and I wasn't confident that just any collision mechanic would be proficient in my specific vehicle. So I contacted Subaru of El Cajon service and spoke to the manager there. She recommended Sid's/Fix Auto without hesitation. She mentioned that she sends their collision repairs to them exclusively and actually had her own personal vehicle repaired there as well. I felt comfortable knowing that. Jodi of Fix Auto La Mesa, coordinated EVERYTHING for me to get my car back better than it was before. From having it towed from my home, staying on the 3rd party appraisal company who was very slow to complete their end, communicating directly with the insurance company to get things moving in a timely manner, keeping me posted often on the status of the repair, and to finally let me know the work was completed. Sid's was a facility recommended by my insurance company, USAA. I could not be happier with the experience. Beth was my representative and always greeted me with a smile. The work was completed by the time it was estimated to be done. Given that I was headed out of town when it was finished Beth was kind enough to let me keep the car at the shop a couple extra days until I returned.
