I came here to see if they had nails for a nail gun that I rented for the day. First off, they opened late, I stood outside for a short while I waited for someone to open the door. A middle aged gentleman came to open up, he said good morning and asked how he could help me. I responded with a greeting of my own and asked how he was doing. He responded with "I don't know yet, it's too early." I said ok, and asked about the parts I needed which they did not have. I ended up not purchasing anything, but I was unimpressed with the short bit of interaction I had. I probably will not return here unless I am out of other options. read more

I have wanted a screen door for my front entrance for awhile. Luckily, one day I seen some at True Value and asked about them. Greg, the Manager was the one that came out and took the measurements. Within a week, it was at the store. He installed it during his off time and even went the extra mile for us. Because the frame was not square, he also had to installing molding to make it fit right and painted it. It looks amazing and having the air flow with both front and back slider open is awesome. I've been in this store several times in the last year to buy cabinet paint. Every time has been a pleasant experience-happy, cheerful employees & great customer service. However, things were very different today. I bought paint in the am and then returned in the afternoon because the color was wrong. From the minute I walked in I could feel something was "off" . The clerk was worried about having to exchange the paint because her boss would be upset. She was really worried about the error and the cost. As she was mixing the new for me and trying to make sure she had the right formula, a man I hadn't seen before came into the paint area. His attitude was condescending to both me and to her. She looked visibly afraid of him. I could see that in her face and I was concerned. So as I was leaving I asked who he was. I was told he was the owner Andy-So Andy this is for you : your employees shouldn't cower in your presence. You shouldn't lecture your customers. You shouldn't discipline your staff in front of anyone.( I heard you chide her about her cell phone being on the desk) . Your store manager Gary is a very nice man, and when you aren't there it's a great place to shop and it looks like a great place to work... But it's not that way when you are there. I could have cut the atmosphere with a knife. So I won't shop in your store anymore if you are there. I can't imagine working for you. read more

I love this True Value! I prefer going here and maybe spending a few extra bucks than driving father away to Lowe's, where most of their associates aren't willing to help or are spread too thin and unavailable. What brought me here initially was that they have Benjamin Moore paint in stock. A lovely gentlemen helped me get everything I need and educated me as to the accessories I would need. Since then, I have been back several times and have always received superior customer service. And, my project went smoothly and turned out great! I will definitely be back, as I will need a lot more paint. Can't beat the convenient location and wonderful staff! read more

Today I went to look at A pellet grill that a friend of mine had recommended . When we got there, we were greeted and the staff was very accommodating. Once I decided on my purchase, the manager Greg came over and helped recommend a few items, gave us a discount and made me feel the purchase was very well worth it. talked to the cashier asked about water heater pans, he took me to the back & couldn't find them. he told me the guy that knew where they were is busy....then i here a voice 2 aisles away say......i am too busy to answer any questions. all he had to say is what aisle they are on, or we are out of them..... no this moron doesn't want to be bothered. so i just walked out & went to lowes. really is no wonder there was 3 employees & no customers but me. really how is it so hard to answer a question, for christ sake its your job........i will never step foot in that place again. keep up with your customer friendly service & your store will be closing soon ...... 1 star is more than they deserve......zero would be more fitting. read more
