Recently, I purchased a drill bit to put in knob pulls on my kitchen drawers. The salesman sold me the wrong size drill bit and there is now a huge hole in the drawer I started with. I spoke with the owner of Sun City Hardware today and asked that they either fix the hole or pay to have it fixed for the mistake his salesman made. The owner told me it was a miscommunication on my part and refused to do anything. All he did was give me the correct drill bit for free; refused to fix the drawer; refused to have it fixed; wouldn't even tell me how to fix this giant hole in my drawer. I will never go to Sun City Hardware again. They have been my go-to hardware store for 19 years - never ever again!!!! I have never been treated this bad by anyone when it was their mistake and not mine. read more

Been going there for over 15 years. They are always so helpful. I have learned to go to one of them or let them know at the register I need help in ??? department and they get me someone or point me to someone. I can tell them my problem and they think with you on solutions or what is available. I am hardly a plumber or electrician, but even if they do not carry something they will get you pointed in the right direction with the correct nomenclature. If I need a bolt or screw to match something they will take it to determine its threading etc. and if I mention the length I need they will try to find it. They are much like the Bowman's I grew up with in Eastside Riverside on Kansas. Try getting any of this service at Lowe's or HD. read more

Sun City Hardware was recommended to me when I need some window screens repaired quickly. All the screen companies in Temecula were booked for several days to weeks. When I called they told me that they would "maybe" be able to get them to me that day, but definitely by the following day. All in all, the price was far more reasonable than the mobile services in town and they called telling me they were ready the following morning. Whenever I couldn't find something at either of the big box stores at either end of the town, Sun City Hardware has it. I go here for ONE reason.. and it definitely is NOT the over bearing "customer service". They should stop saying that they care about customer service, because the only thing they are doing is harassing you. Yes, they ask you if you need any help, but really they just want to make sure your not trying to steal. How can anyone feel comfortable enough to shop when every single employee that is working is breathing down your neck. Have you heard of privacy? Perfect example, I was shopping there today getting some windows cut for my house, so I did some light shopping while I waited. During the 20 minutes I waited I was asked if I needed help and followed down each isle the whole time. Did they once ask me if I needed help loading the rolled up hose into my cart? Nope. If I needed help carrying the glass out to my car, nope. But one employee sure did make an effort to pass by my cart as I'm unloading to the register and make sure to point out the light switch cover that was still left in the cart and asked me, "are you buying that light cover that's by your purse?" Did he ask me about the 3 pieces of glass that I was having a hard time holding, did he once ask if I needed help with that? Nope! Listen, I get that people steal, I do, but not everyone is a thief. Horrible service the manger in charge stepped in front of the cashier as she was in the process of returning an item I purchased and had no use for after finding out it did not fit what I needed it to do. I used to be a regular here but after getting into a shouting argument with the manager in charger early mornings I am Hispanic and the man usually follows me but I do not pay any mind I just get what I need and leave but this was unacceptable I pay for something and if i don't need it I have every right to return it especially in new condition days after paying for it. I love shopping here, I have found a lot of items are cheaper than home depot or lowes. I think it is a plus I don't have to walk around a huge warehouse. Everything is at my fingertips at this store. They also carry older items in stock that are dated to our 20+ year old home as well as newer contemporary stuff. The staff is very helpful and friendly and I enjoy my time in store while im shopping. Definitely a hidden gem. I rented a sod cutter here since the closest Home Depot that had took rental was over 20 minutes away. The workers were very friendly and the store has a lot more in it then the outside portrays. I thought it was much smaller when driving by but it seriously has everything. This is the best hardware store I have ever been to. They will go out of their way to help you. I bought a brush yesterday but the handle was long and I was afraid to use it in the shower since the doors are glass, the cashier suggested after I purchased it that I go talk to the guys in the back which I did and he got a hand saw and cut the metal pipe for me and put a stopper on it for me at no extra charge, I paid only for the stopper.
