Was out late and wanted something sweet but most milk tea establishments are closed by 8pm -- 9pm. Luckily, Caffe In was still open! Their menu is so awesome; I love that they serve food, snacks and milk teas. I haven't tried the food or snacks yet but on the occasions that I've had the milk teas, very refreshing. The staff members are very nice and sweet! Positive vibes! Seating is available inside but it's very limited. Can get crowded very quickly. Limited parking available up front or plenty of parking in the parking lot. Will likely return again when I'm in the Union City area. Would definitely recommend!
Me and the kids came here after school to get a quick bite before they start their class at Sam Montgomery Tae Kwon Do around the corner from this place. We got a drink, protein and carbs. Brown sugar boba 4//5 boba was a tad hard Popcorn Chicken 5/5 mild spice was good! Creme brulee toast 3/5 It was a miss for me. My daughter liked it tho. Good service. Drinks came out fast. Food took time to come out so it was piping hot! I think they serve coffee too. Good place to chill. Someone busted out their laptop and was doing there work. Electrical plug for your electronics everywhere. Kids from the High School was painting and doing homework. Def be back!
My Go-To Boba Spot in Union City! Caffe.in is such a cute and cozy café -- definitely one of the best finds in Union City! The vibe is super clean, and calming, making it perfect whether you're grabbing a quick drink or settling in to get some work done. I come by often just to get a boba or even two bobas plus a Creme brûlée toast. The staff is always friendly and patient, even when it gets busy. They greet you with a smile and actually make you feel welcome -- which is rare these days! If you're a boba lover like me or just want a cute spot to chill, Caffe.in is definitely worth a stop. I usually eat at Bar Bay Grill next door and bring my receipt here for 10% off my order.
Great and unique coffee spot in Union City! Both drinks were delicious and had a unique twist. I really liked how they double seal the cups so they don't leak. It was my first time seeing this method, and more cafes should definitely use it. The music was a bit too loud for conversation. Even with noise cancellation on max, I could still hear it. This place is located in a plaza, so there are plenty of parking spaces available.
3.5 stars! The husband and I stopped by Caffe:iN to check out their drinks and snacks for the first time. We ordered the Brown Sugar Latte, Lavender Breeze, Popcorn Chicken Bento, and Ramly Burger. Both drinks and snacks were tasty and came out fairly quickly. The Brown Sugar Latte was sweet but a bit bland in flavor, Lavender Breeze was refreshing, Popcorn Chicken Bento was fulfilling but again a little bland, while the Ramly Burger was flavorful and yummy. Staff was friendly, shop is a decently sized with fair amount of seating, and parking was not an issue. Overall, another boba place with various snacks to check out if you're in the area and looking to try something new.
TWO NIGHTLY VISITS The first time I came here was last Tuesday night at about a time for place a about to close late at night. I ordered popcorn chicken and matcha iced cream milk green tea. Regarding the latter I order that drink because on the menu it starts this item is one of the signature drinks. I ordered popcorn chicken as non spicy because spicy can be too salty. The popcorn chicken I ordered here was bland. I've never eaten a popcorn chicken that lacked flavor. The matcha iced cream milk green tea was too watered down. I wasn't planning to come here again. The next time I back was last Friday night. I ordered two items that are considered the best-seller at this place - creme brulee toast and brown sugar pearl latte. I also ordered the chicken wings. The chicken wings were more flavorful than the popcorn chicken I ordered earlier in the weak. The brown sugar pearl latte was better than the matcha iced milk green tea but it was just ok. I never tasted creme brulee toast before. I expected there to a hard sugary crust on the toast. This dish is a textural thing but the creme brulee was cold with a pasty taste. The toast itself was light, but creme brulee topping wasn't to my liking. I am glad I ordered the creme brulee toast to try an item I never ate before, but I would never order it again. One benefit of this place is it opens late at night. Other than that I thought CAFFE:iN was ok.
Overall rating: 5/5 Came around 10pm and this CAFFE:iN was pretty lively. There's plenty of seats indoors and there were a good amount of people there hanging out, grabbing food and boba, and working on their computers. The boba shop is located in a shopping plaza so plenty of parking. You can order from a worker or opt for self order kiosk. There are a lot of items on the menu you can pick from. I ordered: - Lychee green tea, 50% sweet, less ice, with lychee jelly (5/5): the drink was well balanced and the lychee flavor was good and not artificial The order came out fast and the workers were really friendly and efficient. There's a bathroom at the back of the store and it was clean. Would I recommend? Yes, it's good late night boba spot with a lot of food and drink options to choose from Would I come back? Yes
While the ambience was nice and seemed like a good study spot, I ordered the Creme Brulee Toast and the White Grape Oolong Tea (75% sweet) and neither were that great. I had had the toast before and remember liking it, but this time it was just too hard and the bread to creme brulee ratio was off, especially given the $9 price. The tea lacked flavor and the crystal boba I added to it carried the taste. Maybe I have to try something new since the menu seems good.
Malaysian food lovers! Roti Canai and ramly burgers for an affordable snack price :) it's super hard to find good quality roti that isnt above $10 in this area. It's supposed to be an inexpensive snack or breakfast (approx RM2 in Malaysia, which is USD 50 cents). The dipping curry that comes with it is nice, chicken flav I think. It's not the Dahl I'm used to but it's very good nonetheless. They also have a laksa dish as well as a chicken curry rice. I looooooooved the curry the last time I had it, definitely shareable between 2 people to get the curry rice and the roti. It's an amazing place to go when you want authentic Malaysian flavor without going to a formal dinner place like Layang Layang (which is still great btw and I highly recommend checking them out as well :D) Drinks: I only ever get the Malaysian iced white coffee ooooooooooooooooooooof!! A winner Some tables to sit and eat and chat with friends, service takes a few minutes longer than other boba shops because of the extensive menu and the fact that there is only 1 worker in front. Jazz music playing--my favorite. Very nice one ah. Always, always worth the wait.
The drinks were absolutely delicious, and the service was impressively quick. I was looking for a spot to catch up with a friend for about an hour, and this place was perfect. The drinks looked great, and the location was conveniently close to home. When we first walked in, I was a bit worried about being able to talk because the music was quite loud. However, once we placed our order and found a seat, the atmosphere felt more relaxed. We sat towards the back of the café, which may have contributed to the quieter environment. Ordering was simple through a kiosk, and our drinks were ready at the counter in no time. The music did make it hard to hear our names being called, but that could have been due to us being caught up in conversation. I had the CAFFE:IN Fresh Fruit Tea, which was fantastic. The fruit tasted incredibly fresh, and the portion size was just right. My friend had a latte and mentioned it was really good as well.
I stopped by CAFFE:IN while getting new tires nearby, hoping to hang out and grab a quick snack. I ordered the POPCORN CHICKEN (MILD) and a THAI MILK TEA (LESS ICE, NORMAL SWEETNESS), and honestly, I was severely disappointed. Let me start by saying my go-to popcorn chicken spot is Truewin Tea Shoppe in Newark -- they never miss. I was pleasantly surprised that Caffe:In gives a generous amount of chicken, but omg... the flavor was abysmal. It tasted like it had been sitting in a freezer for ages -- bland, lifeless, and even after adding some salt and pepper, nothing helped. The mild seasoning barely existed. Truewin adds actual garlic and crunchy basil, which makes a huge difference -- flavor-wise, this didn't even come close even though they have basil in theirs, too. The THAI MILK TEA was also disappointing. Thai tea is my favorite drink, so I've had plenty to compare it to. This one was just basic AF. The staff mentioned it would be more tea-forward when I asked about sweetness, but it ended up just tasting flat. Now, I will say the PLACE ITSELF IS NICE -- cozy, cute, and definitely Instagrammable. But that's kind of where the positives stop. The FOOD AND DRINKS JUST AREN'T GIVING, which might explain why it wasn't busy. Unfortunately, since I'm on a budget, I'll still finish the meal for the sake of sustenance -- but it really shouldn't feel like a chore. I don't mean to offend -- the staff were kind and deserve better -- but this spot really needs some tweaking on flavor and quality if they want to thrive. Right now? It's just not it. What a waste of a good aesthetic. Update: It's been an hour and my tummy is aching, and this was the only meal I had today, so there's definitely something wrong with that chicken. Slay.

Late night spot in Fremont, stays busy throughout the night. Thai tea snow was icy; not the creamy consistency I was craving. Creme brûlée toast is delicious with the sweet egg filling and slightly salted taste but quite expensive at $9. My drink (white grape tea) was ok; I ordered full sweetness but it tasted more like 50-70%. read more

Finally got to try out this cafe, and it definitely is such a hidden gem that I wished I discovered a lot sooner! Their food and menu offerings are so unique and extensive, and I love how everything was very carefully prepared, all while being extremely affordable, especially for the Bay Area! Here's what I tried: tropical passion toast: a freshly buttered toast topped with your choice of ice cream, as well as strawberries, mangoes and bananas. The toast reminded me a lot of Korean injeolmi, and the toppings added such a refreshing touch of sweetness to the rest of the dessert. strawberry crepe: fresh strawberries, ice cream, and cream wrapped in a freshly prepared crepe and drizzled with chocolate and powdered sugar. Also a solid choice if you're craving a sweet treat! ramly burger: I was so excited to try this menu item, and it definitely didn't disappoint! The fried chicken patty wrapped in a fried egg definitely reminded me a lot of the burgers I've tried in Taiwan. popcorn chicken: definitely one of the few boba shops in the Bay with popcorn chicken that resembles the authentic Taiwanese version. Would highly recommend if you want to play it safe with a snack! brown sugar pearl latte, fresh fruit tea, white peach smoothie: all of these drinks were incredibly well prepared, and I would recommend both their fruit AND milk tea options. I didn't have to adjust the sweetness of any of these drinks, and they were definitely perfect the way they were prepared! This is definitely one of my favorite new cafes in the Bay Area, and you'll be catching me here every week before I have to leave for grad school. If you're in the area, definitely make sure to check them out for their quali-TEA snacks and drinks and support a small, local business! read more

Food was decent and fresh, but subpar service and pricey The ordering process was abysmal as prices were not easily understood because the tablet with the photos of the menu and prices did not match with what was communicated verbally by staff. Food took relatively long to prepare despite being the only customers and what seemed like a full staff in the kitchen. Order submitted at 1136. Order ready by 1156. A wait of 20 minutes! As the first order of the day (order number one) on a weekday (Wednesday) and the floors were visibly dirty. Fortunately the seats and tables were clean upon inspection. They do have outlets at the booths inside. They also have outdoor seating. They have complimentary WiFi. They have a chicken sandwich, called a Ram-Ly burger, which was made fresh to order and quite tasty. You can opt to make it a combo by paying extra to add fries or black/green iced tea. The chicken sandwich had a pretty sorry bun but had a fresh fried chicken thigh and a fried rubbery egg. The sauce had a minor spice kick. There was a piece of lettuce and some bits of onion. We also got a mango crepe. All their crepes come with the same sauce and choice of ice cream. The only difference is the type of fruit that comes with it. They also have savory crepes. The crepe was presented beautiful in the brown box (they didn't ask if we were dining in or taking out so I guess they default to take out options). The taste was decent - nothing special. They also have a partnership with Bar Bay Grill next door and if you have a receipt from them, they may honor it and provide you a 10% discount. But despite not specifying the terms on the receipt, it is only available for use on the same day. They did not honor the discount despite our disappointment in the lack of communication. Overall, the food is decent at best and passable as a quick snack or lunch spot (if you can wait 20 minutes for your order). Their drinks might be better but I'm not willing to spend more money here. They definitely do not offer the pickle at this place. I am not a fan of their quality of service. There are better places nearby for boba drinks and food. read more

We ordered 3 teas, 1 smoothie, and one crème brûlée toast and it was only $33. also, ORDER THE CRÈME BRÛLÉE TOAST. Soooooooo good omg. It's really cute in here tho. Going to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say I don't think I ordered the right thing for my taste preferences. Having seen grass jelly in many boba joints' drinks, I wanted to give the topping a second chance despite tasting it many years ago and not loving it. I got the grass jelly in my rose milk green tea and it had quite a medicinal and bitter taste which I didn't particularly enjoy. However, it wasn't unbearable, especially because the drink itself is pretty fragrant and delicious. So, overall, ordering grass jelly was a mistake on my part, and I'd for sure come here again and try their other drinks with different toppings for a redemption. The snack items we ordered, curly fries & chicken wings, are very subpar. Fries are salted decently well but nothing stood out taste-wise. The chicken wings are way too salty which takes away from the otherwise juicy meat and crispy exterior. Would not order that again. Not exactly sure how much everything costed since they don't put prices on your receipt, but I remember the total was about $30 (including another drink not attached in the images). It was almost 11pm on a Friday night. My group and I were in the mood for some boba. I already knew Caffe:in would be open around this time, but I figured, why not check out if other places are open? --they werent. LOL this brings me to my first point: I LOVE BOBA PLACES that are open later on weekends!!! My favorite past time was grabbing boba with friends, sitting down at the table, having conversation, playing board games/card games up until they close late. Caffein didnt let us down being one of the only boba places open in our are, AND we know the drinks are good! Matcha Yuzu Smoothie - I got this drink as I saw another photo of it on Yelp. Initially, I wanted the mango one, but the worker was kind enough to offer me the Matcha one. He said, "its better in my opion, and looks prettier!" Say less! Im a sucker for aesthetic drinks!! Tbh, i'm not one for icy drinks. I thought it'd be kind of like a yakult/yogurt smoothie so a little thicker, but regardless the taste was good and refreshing! I was in the mood for a fruity drink that would make me go "Ahhhh" after i drink it, and it fulfilled that! Honeydew Smoothie - 1000/10. My bf's favorite drink every, from any boba shop, is a honeydew smoothie! Many places these days dont carry honeydew which is a bit disappointing! Caffein, you the best for still having this on your menu! Their smoothie consistency is SO good! Smooth, texture is great, and honeydew flavor is nice, light, and not too sweet. I ended up getting Super Size for my bf and...you can see how tall it is!! ALL IN ALL, quality of drinks are so good here! Also! they have a great variety of desserts like honey toasts and snacks like their Shake Shake Fries and Popcorn Chicken! Ive tried them all and recommend you do too!! I came in with my kids because I really wanted to try the Tropical Paradise. The place was nice and clean and the treat was yummy. My complaint is that when ordering you have to get it to go even though they have open seating and it was REALLY hard to eat with a plastic knife and fork. Making it to go and using plastic silverware created a lot of unnecessary waste. read more
Can't go wrong with boba and the service was very friendly! We got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea w/ Boba and Passion Fruit Green Tea w/ Lychee Jelly. Both drinks were made well, but the boba was softer than expected (we did come towards the end of the night). Creme Brûlée Toast -- it took about 15 mins to finish. 3.3 stars. The latest open boba shop in the area. They close at midnight! I would have loved to make this a study spot, but they were pretty busy on a Monday night so I don't see that happening anymore. :( I don't recommend their drinks. The boba tastes really artificial and were a bit hard. I ordered 25% sweetness for the wintermelon black tea while my sibling ordered 50% for the lavender breeze. Both were super sweet. I'd suggest 0%. Their popcorn chicken is average. The crepe was too thick and too crispy. I like being able to hold my crepe in my hand, but their wrapper wasn't ideal for grasping the chocolate drizzled crepe. I tried to lift the crepe and everything fell out. It was difficult to even slice the crepe. The mango and strawberry were sweet at least:) I thought the wait would take a while for pick up, but it was ready fairly quickly. A worker even brought out our order to the car. There's a lot of other desserts they have to offer and I'll have to try em out on a future visit. read more
First time at CAFFE:iN was on March 22, 2022, when we came in for after dinner boba at around 10 PM. The cafe was still happening when we arrived; a line was out the door and the place was nearly a full house of young adults and teenagers (a noteworthy observation, considering that it was a Tuesday night). The decent sized menu offers ICED FLAVORED TEA, ICED MILK TEA, DESSERT, CREPES, HOT TEA, SHAVED SNOW, SMOOTHIES, JELLY ICE, SIGNATURE HONEY TOASTS, SIGNATURE CAFFE:IN (coffee and espresso drinks), and other SNACKS. I wanted to try the Lavender Breeze, but was disappointed that they couldn't serve it as a milk tea drink. Boo! I ended up with a Thai Milk Tea with Grass Jelly which passed the taste and creaminess test. My niece was pleased with her Rose Milk Tea with Honey Boba. To my pleasant surprise, the star of our orders was the Boba Lava SIGNATURE HONEY TOAST. I honestly didn't expect to enjoy this sweet dish, so planned to take only a single bite. Wow, I highly recommend this item - it doesn't taste like it's packed with sugar as it looks and the layers of textures (cool creaminess from the sauce, softness of the toast, chewiness from the boba) work very well together. I enjoyed the toast so much that I ended up fully sharing it with my niece and sister instead of just tasting it. The venue is a cool spot for young crowds to hang at and service is friendly. Conveniently located at the Union Square Marketplace, there is also ample parking for patrons. read more

The Large is no joke. Guys, get a regular because it's practically a large. I had the matcha latte with ice cream. Didn't realize ice cream was added, couldn't even taste or see any. Strong matcha taste which was nice. Brother ordered brown sugar milk tea, nothing more to it. Like everywhere else brown sugar MT. My friend got the lavender tea and came out nothing like lavender, didn't even taste anything like tea. read more

Overall: 3.3/5 This has been on my to try list for awhile so I was really excited when the opportunity came. We came in person to order and the Bay Bar Grill's outdoor seating area structure is blocking the storefront. When we go in, the menu is extensive and pretty small to read; wish they posted their menu on the window like their giant burger advertisement. Unfortunately, they were also out of honey boba. Matcha Ice Cream Milk Green Tea With Lychee Popping Boba: This drink does not taste like it has ice cream at all but the texture is a little bit creamier. I think the green tea diluted out the matcha, and the lychee popping boba taste is stronger, overwhelms the other taste, and just doesn't match this drink. This drink is a HUGE disappointment & a hard pass. Medium Spicy Popcorn Chicken: The chicken pieces came in slightly weird shapes and was just alright. Wouldn't get it again. Creme Brulee Toast: This was the best thing there and came in 4 pieces. Overpriced for toast but it was good. read more
We came here because they give you a 10% discount after having dined at Bar Bay Grill. Wow! The drinks here I thought were a bit mediocre and nothing special. However it's still a good fix after having eaten charcoally bar food and needing something to wash it down. One huge benefit is the store promotes that they use 100% cane sugar! But other than that, the quality of the tea and taste of the drinks was just alright. read more

Came here on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy for it being a weekday. They have kiosks at the front so placing your order is pretty simple and easy. The ambience was nice in there. They was lot of seating inside which was great. I ordered a Thai milk tea with Boba and my boyfriend ordered passionfruit green tea with Boba both were pretty good. Def on the pricier side, but will definitely be coming back for some late night Boba! read more

I placed an order over the phone for 2 crepes. Pretty basic order. 1. Strawberry banana crepe with strawberry ice cream on the side. 2. Strawberry mango crepe with strawberry ice cream on the side. They charge .50 for ice cream in the side. No idea why, maybe for the cup? They charge for ice cream regardless if you get it or not. I figured get it on the side. I was told 15 minutes. I received my order in about 30 minutes. I get there, let them know my order. I see my order on the screen. I tell them it's incorrect, and tell them my order again. I received my order, and when I get home I open the boxes. Both have bananas!!!! I call and let him know I will be driving back and please make sure it is strawberry and mango. He said ok, no problem. I get to the store and he said what's the order again. I tell him my order again and irritated. Since this means they haven't started to make my order. I wait 10 minutes and check the box to confirm no bananas. I get home and start to eat it. The mangoes are green, very few strawberries, and no whipped cream. Basically I just ate a thin, plain pancake. Very minimal fruit. I won't be going back Don't waste your time or money. read more

The Christmas decorations and inside seating here is super cute, but unfortunately, I might have just ordered the wrong dessert. It looked like their sweet toasts were popular, but I would not recommend the tropical toast. The peach ice cream tasted really artificial and the photos make it look better than how it tastes. I'd recommend trying the boba here instead! read more
It is more of a 3-3.5, but I do understand that they had a lot of orders and seemed to be low on workers on a busy weekend. I ordered popcorn chicken and strawberry milk tea for pickup and the estimate was 15-20 minutes. When I went to pick it up, my drink was ready, but my popcorn chicken wasn't finished yet. I waited and waited, and 20 more minutes passed and it was finally ready. I do not think it should take 40+ minutes to make popcorn chicken as my drink was just sitting on the counter... Even though it took that long, I must say, the chicken was goooood and good portion! It was flavorful/seasoned well and crispy. The milk tea tasted more like strawberry milk, but it was ok. read more

Met up with a friend and sat in their patio today. The person behind the register was very friendly and helpful. They were out of popcorn chicken! Bummer. I've had theirs once before and it's quite tasty. So, instead got the curry fish balls. I knowww, sounds reallyyy appetizing. She made them sound yummy though. So what the heck?!? Compared to the amount of food you get with an order of popcorn chicken, I thought the fish ball portion would be about the same. No. No, it wasn't. It filled about half the container it came in and there was a whole lotta sauce/curry. Holy mackerel! I thought. Who ate my fish balls?? Even though the portion was small, that curry sauce was delicious. It was more like a very liquidy, medium spicy, lemongrassy curry. And I digged it! That curry is delish! After eating the few fish balls that were in the container, I took the sauce home for dipping others things. That's how tasty it was. I'd go back to taste some of their boba drinks and teas. read more
Needed a coffee pick me up before going on a bay adventure. I asked if they had any boba coffee and they said they didn't serve any until noon (it was 11am). They didn't have many coffee options, but she said they could do a Malaysian iced coffee and I could add an espresso shot, which I did because I drink strong coffee. Really enjoyed all my visits here! I always order ahead before coming since I know my favorite (creme brulee toast) takes ~20min to be made. Drinks: - white peach green tea was very good, I liked that there wasn't too much of an aftertaste and thought it gave a good peach flavor - hot taro milk tea was not very good, tasted a little watered down and not sweet at all, even with boba - strawberry milk tea was my fave so far, not too heavy but still sweet and strawberry flavor! Just like the Korean drink Overall, boba has been consistently decent. Not the best I've had, but still soft and chewy. Food: - ramly burger was SO GOOD!! Reminds me of the burgers I've tried in Asia, kind of slightly sweet but also savory. Very good chewy and crispy chicken! - creme brûlée toast is definitely a favorite. Love the egg on top w the powdered sugar. I like that the portion is not too much - chicken curry rice was also very good, I ordered it delivered and it was still hot when it came! read more

Overall, this place is really cute. Located next to Bar Bay Grill, I'm not sure if the two one share that outdoor seating area because I didn't see a sign right outside of the businesses, but it looks like they might? I ordered a Honey Green Milk Tea, which was alright. It wasn't anything too amazing to note in my opinion, but it wasn't bad. My friend ordered the Handcrafted Brown Sugar Milk Tea, which visually looked more appealing and had a bit more flavor of course. My friend said it tasted a bit more artificial to him though compared to other places he's been. I thought it was pretty good. Their boba balls were cooked to a nice soft texture My favorite thing I ordered from you place was actually their popcorn chicken. I felt it had good flavor, a nice crunch, and a decent amount of chicken. It just took a really long time for them to cook though. Their brick desserts looked really appetizing too. read more

SPOILED Whipped Cream give a sour taste and cause my friend to PUKED right after eating it. Tried calling them the whole night to get a refund but the phone NEVER got picked up. I don't even know if their food taste good or bad because I didn't have a chance to eat it since it is so SPOILED. But what is worse is when they IGNORED customer call !!!! Good tasting boba but def on the pricier side - bad popcorn chicken Boba/food: I've tried the strawberry smoothie, popcorn chicken, and creme brûlée toast. Strawberry smoothie: 9/10 super good, not too sweet and didn't taste like fake strawberries, def would get it again :) Popcorn chicken: 2/10 honestly one of the worst popcorn chickens I've ever had LOL like it was not crispy on the outside and the chicken was kinda dry and just eh Creme brûlée toast: 7/10 interesting flavor, I've never tried anything like this before and it kinda tastes like a more bready egg tart with a caramel flavor.
