I've been wanting to try the purple cloud tea latte and finally got a chance to try it today. The wait time was about 5 minutes after I ordered on the kiosk. It looks super pretty and aesthetic but the taste unfortunately didn't match up. I could barely taste the ube flavoring and it was so bland. This drink tasted like black tea watered down even though it was supposed to have milk in it. I couldn't taste the milk and was pretty disappointed considering this was supposed to be 100% sweet and it didn't taste sweet at all. The only thing saving this drink was the amount of boba you get as they do offer a hearty portion but it has no flavored coating on it and is a bit mushy. For all new boba spots I go to, I order the brown sugar boba if it's on the menu. This review is solely based on that drink alone. Mr. Green Bubble's brown sugar boba drink was lacking in various aspects. For one, the boba was very very soft, almost a mushy consistency. I'm guessing they overcooked the boba so the bouncy chew was no longer there and the pearls stuck together. The drink itself just tasted like plain milk with a little bit of added sugar. The ice to sugar ratio was off-- the drink tasted quite watered down (there's no "no ice" option). Overall, I'm not too impressed with the drink I got. As for the service, I can't say much because we simply ordered on a kiosk and got our number called when the order was ready. I ordered 2 popcorn chicken bentos (no spicy & level 5) with addition of 1 taro milk tea (no sugar, no ice, add mango jelly). However, they set the tips at 15% even for take out (not that I don't want to tip them but I think the customer should have the choice to give whatever percentage they'd like). I put in my phone number & got text when my order was ready. The portion for popcorn chicken bento was good with the price given. Beware that the level 5 spicy was super spicy, but I like it. The chicken pieces were crispy and they gave generous amount. The bento also came with white rice, a veggie roll and a side of green salad with ranch sauce. The taro milk tea was just ok. Really solid boba place. I'm not an expert by any means but I got into boba a few years ago and have tried quiet a few different places. This one is definitely my favorite. I usually get the Thai tea or early grey. Egg pudding and honey boba are my go to add ins. Their egg pudding has a great consistency, not too mushy, not too rubbery. Their boba is the best I've had around Fremont. It's always got a soft, fresh texture. Some places you can tell the boba is getting too firm from sitting around but I've never had that from this place and I've ordered here at least 10+ times so they're consistent. I think the only "complaint" is that sometimes it can take a little bit to get your drink cause they're busy!
