I was in need of a post class boba and maybe some food so I was looking around to see which boba shop I haven't tried yet and R&B Tea was one that I ended up choosing. In short, small shop with boba options and food, that is priced competitively and tasted fine, but wished that the offers were clearly shown and how to take advantage of them. L O C A T I O N R&B Tea is located in a set of buildings that are both residential and commercial off of Fremont Blvd. Because of the construction on the road, it's kind of hard to try to enter from the front, so I ended up finding my way to the back entrance. There is parking but they're quite tight, at least the one ones right next to the building. The other parking across are a bit wider. I N S I D E I entered through the back and there's a few tables that line up the side and there is a restroom inside. M E N U There's a variety of options on the menu from fresh fruits, teas, matcha, coffee, etc. I also appreciate they have quite a variety of snacks and food options which is nice cause I was hungry this day. Drinks also come in regular, large and extra large! I haven't seen extra large in a while. What I didn't like is that drinks defaulted to boba and if you remove it, you have to pay for whatever topping you do want. There are other shops that do this, but if you remove the boba topping and replace it with another, it doesn't charge you. I'm sure if you go to the register, you can get it comped. But I ordered through the kiosk. What you also don't know is that right now they have a Buy 2 get one Free drink but I only saw it after I turned from the kiosk to the desk which has the offer. I wish they had the sign near the kiosk which tells you to go to the register to order your drink and claim your offer. I got a Classic Milk Tea w/Boba and Wonton Noodle Soup. Both very classic flavors and I enjoyed both of them. Milk tea was your classic black milk tea and it was milky. The boba was unfortunately a bit overcooked. The noodles were a good chew. The wonton filled with flavorful pork and shrimp filling. Soup I'm sure was filled with salty deliciousness which definitely got me a bit dehydrated but I was expecting that. I hinted at missing it and wished I knew it was available cause I did buy two drinks. Instead of potentially offering to do a one off extra drink since I missed it? Came to R&B Tea for mandatory after-dinner boba. Was not disappointed tbh. Located off Fremont Blvd and 84, R&B Tea is in the same area as the trending Bun Appetit bakery. This boba shop serves all kinds of tea along with snacks. There are some board games stacked on a counter, and a few seating/booths available. I can see R&B being a cute hangout for high schoolers, but it's definitely small enough for grab and go. I ordered via kiosk: Jasmine banana cloud (a R&B Tea special) - after I placed my order on the self-order kiosk, the worker behind the counter grabbed my attention to double check whether I ~actually~ wanted that. Ordering wasn't easy. The online menu didn't match the tablet in store. Spam musubi online is $5 but in store it's $7.50. Online has brown sugar boba milk tea but in-store tablet didn't have it. Came here on a weekday around 3pm. Wasn't too busy which was good because I think there were only 2 staff members at the time. They have a pretty big menu and you can either order from a kiosk or at the cashiers. I've ordered delivery from here too and their boba seems to be consistent and it's pretty good. I haven't found anything extremely special yet but once again, they do have a big menu to choose from so I might've not come across it yet. The only bad thing was that when I went in, there were several tables that haven't been bussed yet. It seemed like there were only 2 out of 10 tables clean. But this place feels a little more inauthentic than the rest. 100% the portions at other R&Bs are doubled to the point that there is always food to take home. Over here, its very small. I couldn't believe how little Pate was offered with my plate. For a Vietnamese spot, that was very disappointing. Some spots will even have a steak that you need a knife to cut. And this place had the same price but half as much sauce(butter & meat juices) and was laced with veggies to clean up the lack of everything. I had to eat this with one roll and the bread was so soft that it became soggy after trying to put ingredients in it. Or it would fall apart when I simply tried to dip the bread in the sauce. I don't know what could be different but this bread was alot whiter than what I'm used to. The boba though.... I saved it for post meal and from the first sip. It's amazing! It single handedly saved the review. I'd offer a half star if I could. I gotta give it a 2 star because I came starving and left starving. But I spent as much as 25$ for this photo. This location keeps changing. It used to be i-Tea which was very popular. The inside layout did not change, but they did update their wallpaper with R & B tea logo. You can order your drinks using their tablet or in-person counter. With the tablet, you don't get the stamp card. Also, remember to check in using the Yelp app to get a discount on your drink. Ordered two drinks: 1. ) Lychee green milk tea with boba - It had an artificial lychee taste. I didn't like it. No tea flavor in the drink either. Also, I thought there would be lychee bits, but no. The wait was surprisingly long despite how little people there were; it was understaffed and it seemed like a machine had broken. I had to wait almost 30 minutes to receive my drink, and when I got it, it was room temperature and a little too sweet. They also mixed up my snack order.
