We came in early without a reservation and were seated immediately. A different take on the pasta...thick. Tasty and held the sauce quite well. Took a while to be attended but when we were the service was quite good. read more

First off get reservations! I've traveled all over the world and by far one of the best Italian dishes Ive had. Chicken Alfredo was insane, the noodles were perfect and the chicken was perfectly cooked! You can get any dishes minus the meats if you need. The tiramisu was out of this world! Great ambiance and quick service! Even if they show a lot of availability when you are looking for reservations don't think oh they don't look busy, you'll be turned away quickly as it gets busy quick. Drinks were also well balanced. read more

Came here for brunch! Sat in the cute outdoor patio out back. Had the flagstaff hash waffle which is just like it sounds. It was a hash brown made in a waffle maker! Two eggs sunny side up with nice roasted peppers! Delic! The homemade Pasta and sauce looked good too! read more

we ate here tonight and I would honestly tell you not to waste your time or money going to this restaurant ordered a house salad and they had all the bad parts of Romain chopped up so super bitter, I ordered ravioli that was supposed to be homemade but it was freezer burnt, my husband ordered Bolognese that was probably the most disgusting spicy Bolognese I've ever had and it was not supposed to be spicy. read more

My boyfriend and I had a reservation for his birthday dinner. We are visiting in town and had someone recommend Cafe Stella to us. We started our dinner with the garlic bread and marinara sauce, which was flavorful and perfectly toasted! I ordered a side of meatballs to try and they were very tender and full of flavor. The marinara was acidic but not too sour. I really enjoyed it. I ended up ordering the sausage and mushroom pasta and my boyfriend got the steak Alfredo. The pasta was so soft and had a perfect bite to it. The shape held the pasta sauce well and had a great texture. The sausage made the dish, and I could taste the fennel and herbs well. The steak Alfredo was perfect and was surprisingly not too heavy. We really enjoyed everything we tried. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. read more

This lovely little restaurant is popular for a reason. They have great food with huge servings that is unbelievably priced. We enjoyed the lemon ricotta pasta and the Bolognese with garlic sourdough bread and a side of steak that was eight dollars as an add-on to our pasta. I hope people appreciate this little restaurant and continue to support it so that we can come back for years to come. read more

They don't open until 5:00PM, which worked great for us. We were greeted by Alexis, who was our server. She was friendly and attentive during our meal. Our party order, beef ravioli, spinach ravioli and spaghetti & meatballs. Our meal came as ordered and was hot. Because we arrived @ 5PM, they weren't that crowded, however, when we left more patrons were arriving. We choose this restaurant due to walkable location from our hotel. It was a good choice, good service, good food! read more

Ambiance is pretty good nice vibe in the restaurant. Food, Well it's alright....my lady ordered the lemon ricotta and it's okay. Very heavy sauce. I had the chicken margarita and it's alright. Chicken tastes like teriyaki chicken. Pasta is good that's about all. Lastly the bread was okay just not cooked enough. read more

My boyfriend and I had one of the WORST experiences here than we've ever had at a restaurant. Keep in mind, I am a server myself at two restaurants so I try to stay open minded and understanding, but this time was mind blowing. We came in Saturday morning for brunch outside, we sat down around 10:30 and there was only one other table there. Our server, Sophia, took our drink order, brought them out, then took our food order, all fine. (She didn't write anything out, so first red flag). My boyfriend and I are sitting there and more people come in. Twenty minutes goes by, my boyfriend finishes his drink. Thirty minutes goes by, our server has not come back ONCE to check on us. The other tables server was a guy who was checking on them plenty of times. Forty minutes goes by, other tables are getting their food when they ordered AFTER we ordered. An hour goes by, we have no food and our server has not come back one time, so my boyfriends drink is still empty and he wanted another one(he got a mimosa). Mind you ALL other tables have gotten their food and basically finished eating. I finally call over the other server, and ask him to check on our food. He says, word for word, that he noticed us sitting there for a long time and asked our server what was going on, and she said she took our drink orders but didn't get one food order. WTF?!?!?! Not true. I was livid because by now it's been over an hour, it's around 11:45, and we are starving. So she either forgot to put in our food and was embarrassed to come back, or she just didn't care about our service. We order LUNCH at this point, and the guy who is not our server went to go put it in and "prioritize" it. He comes back two minutes later with our ORIGINAL food, and says he found it and it got "lost". It was some of the worst food I've ever had. You can tell it had been sitting under a heat lamp for at least thirty minutes. My gravy had a hard coat on top, and my boyfriends bacon was dry and disgustingly crunchy. We ate it because we were just so hungry at this point, it was noon. STILL, our original server had not come back, the new server didn't check on us at all, and instead we barely finished, asked for the check, and got out of there. My boyfriend left two dollars cash as a tip because he's way too nice to leave nothing. I would NEVER ask for discounted food. but working in the service industry I would've given us something. We left, and saw our server WIPING down counters in the front as we walked out. She saw us, looked down, and didn't say a single thing. My boyfriend and I loved Cafe Stella, but after this we will never go back. If you get Sophia as a server, just leave. You aren't going to get ANY service at all anyway. read more

Wait staff were nice but the food was so-so. First off, my salmon salad tasted good! No complaints in that area. Now here we go....when the menu and advertisements say meatball sub, that's what it should be: A Meatball sub. When my friend got his sub, I thought he was going to cry! It was a spaghetti and meatball sub! Yikes! Now, it did in the description say spaghetti but nowhere in the title or the sign on the back of the establishment did it mention the spaghetti. So if you don't read carefully, you'll miss that important detail. In addition the sub didn't not look appeasing at all!Bright side to this, is after my friend scraped off the spaghetti he said the meatballs and the marinara sauce tasted good. Two more people were with us. One had the burger/green chili special. He said it was okay. The other person had the avacado egg Sammy, minus the egg. This was described as very bland with no flavor. Out of 4 meals only 1 was decent. read more

Bruschetta board was tasty. Lemon ricotta was tasty but would've been better with a thinner noodle as the sauce is thicker. Creamy Tuscan was a nice light flavor but salmon was a tad overcooked. Mushroom & sausage pasta with a nice red sauce, sausage on the dry end. Overall, would've been nice to have diff options for pasta instead of the thicker one. Meatballs nice and juicy, but could do with citrus. Service was good by Sophia. Ambiance - busy but we were able to be seated quickly indoors on Saturday evening. read more

I wish I could have given Cafe Stella a better review, however, their customer service is extremely disappointing. My friend had a reservation here who made a huge career accomplishment and planned to celebrate at this Italian restaurant. I called six hours ahead, confirmed what reservation she was under and bought $40 worth of Prosecco to be there upon her arrival as a surprise since I can not be in Flagstaff with her. As my card information was taken and the drink was purchased, I was truly devastated to find out the bottle never made her table. She called me later to describe her night and that the food in the restaurant was not so great, but not mentioning the prosecco I bought was an even bigger disappointment. I later called and they saw exactly where someone had made a note of the bottle I bought next to their reservation. They offered a refund, which is obviously necessary as I am unsure who ended up consuming the alcohol I pre-bought, but the surprise was already ruined. Unfortunately, I will not be coming here for my next trip to Flagstaff. read more

Really delicious meal. The pasta is so good. I had the lemon ricotta with arugula. I wasn't disappointed. I also drank a nice Pinot noir and enjoyed the garlic bread. My son ordered the but free pesto. He liked it! Thank you for offer nut free- he's allergic and hasn't had a lot of opportunity to try pesto. Didn't have a reservation, but they were able to seat us. Friday night around 8. We waited several minutes for server to come to the table initially, but after that she was attentive. I liked the vibe here and definitely will return. More items on the menu that look and I'm sure are delicious! Bill was about $100 with tip. Luckily my son and I don't go out to eat too often so this splurge was worth it. read more

Updating after a year of coming here! Consistently it's been renovated and improved specifically the ambience and tasteful menu additions. Great servers and vibe! Always my brunch or date night recommendation. Good pasta, sandwiches, salads, brunch, drinks and gelato. Nothing is filler on the menu and I've never regretted trying something new. Overall I keep coming back :) read more

The food we ordered definitely deserves five stars, but unfortunately the service brought down my overall rating. We were hesitant to order our entrées at the same time as our salads, but our waiter assured us he would wait to submit the entrée order so our first course wouldn't be interrupted. Unfortunately, halfway through our salads, another server arrived with our entrées. When we mentioned this to our waiter, he seemed unconcerned and made no effort to acknowledge or remedy the situation. That was disappointing, especially after we had specifically discussed our concern beforehand. The quality of the food makes us want to return, but the poor service makes us think twice. I hope this was simply an off night because attentive service is just as important as a great meal. read more

This was my groups first time here and we absolutely loved the food. For our appetizer we got fresh bruschetta which was some of the best bruschetta Ive ever had. 2 of us got the Steak Alfredo medium rare and 2 of us got the sausage and mushroom pasta. We came here while visiting Flagstaff before heading to the observatory, so it was an early dinner. Service was quick and professional. My wife tried the beef raviolis in marinara and our waitress recommended the lemon ricotta pasta with arugula, so I tried that. All I can say is Wow! The food was amazing and the pasta was as fresh and delicious as we have had throughout Italy. The raviolis were perfectly al dente, with an amazing fresh marinara. The lemon ricotta was otherworldly, perfectly balancing the creamy with the pasta and the arugula, all with a bright lemon flavor that enhanced the dish. I so recommend you try it. read more

Disappointed. Had reservations for a celebratory dinner. Based on reviews we anticipated a fantastic experience. Arrived on time and here is where my disappointment began: Turned away because our table wasn't ready. It wasn't the wait, but the attitude of the hostess. Like we were an annoyance. Once seated we order wine and apps. Before we even got our apps we were asked for our dinner order. This is not appropriate for a supposed fine dining establishment. Didn't get one of the apps we ordered. Waitstaff didn't come back to check on us, and then a different server dropped off our meals. And that was the last time anyone checked on us. We were blatantly ignored. Had to ask for the check. No acknowledgement of our celebration. Our plates were never cleared. The suggestion of dessert was more of a dare. We declined. I don't intend this review to discourage future diners, but to bring service problems to management. It could have been the lack of waitstaff, or poor reservation management. But I've seen too many restaurants with potential die due to service issues. I'm so sad for our célébrée more than anything. BUT the food was excellent and the choice of Chianti quite good! read more

This is a cute local option with homemade pastas. The good is that the pasta was definitely scratch made, the chicken fettuccine alfredo was very good, and the outside eating area had a cute ambiance. The average was the service. The bad was the spaghetti and meatballs that was undercooked and all the food in general didn't have much flavor. Overall, it was an average experience, not sure would try another time. read more
