What a gem I found in flagstaff! My doctor said to try and eat more plant based food and lower sodium items. So we wanted to switch it up and look for a vegan place here in town. I found morning glory cafe had really good reviews, so I took a chance. My partner had the breakfast burrito and I had the vegan hemp burger. We also got the corn chowder and the pistachio latte. Everything was a 10/10 perfection. The lady who took our order was so knowledgeable and the owner of the shop were so friendly, they explained how everything was made. Apparently the previous owner died in 2009 and the new owner who was her best friend took over. This business has been here for 40 years and I hope it will be here for 40 more. Apparently every ingredient is locally sourced from their very own farm, and everything is made from scratch. They even lab tested their food to be heart healthy and low sodium. So this was perfect! I went into this with the mindset not to expect really super flavorful food like how you would if it wasn't low sodium, but they did a great job of bringing it the natural flavors of each ingredient in perfect harmony. I don't think I've ever had a better meal in flagstaff and I'm definitely coming back. read more

I really enjoyed the blue corn tamal and the jackfruit tamal. Both came with red chilli sauce, topped with veggies. Nice presentation even for the side tamales. The tamales were much smaller than other tamales I have had. I was also pretty underwhelmed by the beans, just whole beans, not much flavor in them and very expensive. I found the prices to be very high for the serving sizes in general. The counter service was good. If the biscuits and gravy are on the specials board when you visit, TRY IT. Omg. I ordered the $15 gluten free and vegan biscuits and gravy with potatoes and was SHOCKED that this gravy tasted like the regular pork and gluten-filled gravy. I was born in Texas. I know what this dish tastes like as I've had it a zillion times before my Celiac diagnosis. This version was better than the regular versions and the potatoes were great (and cooked separately not to be cross contaminated with gluten.) You might think it sounds suspicious and that they're using the real pork or wheat flour to make such a good gravy. No - again, I have Celiac disease and if this gravy or the biscuits had gluten, I'd be doubled over sick, not writing Yelp reviews in bed. I also had a $7 Golden milk latte with certified gluten free oat milk. I forgot to specify unsweetened and was so relieved that it came unsweetened. It makes me think they're making it from scratch unlike every other place that uses powders. My husband got a $4 cup of coffee but he should have ordered breakfast. Still my Favorite restaurant in ALL of Flagstaff for over 5 years! The quality and flavor of the food is outstanding! You can tell that love and care goes into making it. Today is my boyfriend's birthday, and we had just arrived in town. It was my first time here, and we were simply looking for a quick bite. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The reviews were completely misleading. The potato fries were excessively spicy, which makes no sense if they are meant to be kid-friendly. The shake was runny, served in a very small cup, and no one bothered to mention that beforehand. Overall, this was a total disappointment. It felt as though the restaurant was trying to get as much money as possible out of a single meal, likely because repeat customers seem unlikely or any other customer for that matter. Strict vegan, ask if you have particular criteria but they try really really hard to meet the "no heart beat" standards and have been hitting the mark for a long time. This is such a lovely gem of a place. We had breakfast there on a quiet Sunday morning, and the staff were just so friendly and laid back. We felt truly welcome. And the food was worth it! I had the blue corn pancakes, and they were everything I dreamed of and more. I even brought home some pancake mix to try to recreate the magic. I washed it down with a lavender lemonade, which is the perfect flavors normally and was totally magical this time. My husband created his own breakfast from sides, and even though that is probably not most cost effective, he got a huge plate of delicious food that was so fresh and healthy. Stumbled upon this organic vegan eatery on a recent trip. Need to grab a lunch while pasting through Flagstaff and ended up pulling in around lunch time. When entered I was greeted by the whole staff and was offered up great food support. I ended up grabbing the Tempeh Avocado Sandwich and the Tamale with Beans. Both food options are a solid choice. This was a super refreshing lunch, as all the vegetables were garden-fresh and blended well with the proteins. Highly recommend for a nice light lunch. My husband and I recently went here for brunch and were really disappointed. Our two meals and two drinks (a coffee and a chai latte) totaled $45 before tax which seemed steep, but we were still hopeful. When the coffee was brought out, the cup was dirty--stains on the rim that would come off if you rubbed your finger on it. The person who had taken our order kindly traded the mug for a different one when we asked, but our concern regarding the cleanliness continued when I had to pick off a small hair from my french toast. The place seems a little run down and the hygiene in particular could use some significant improvement. For these reasons, along with the price, we didn't feel comfortable there. Please don't get me wrong, the food TASTED AND FELT great, my biggest concern is that I was explicity told that all the food is organic and vegan upon initally studying the restaurant my first time at Morning Glory Cafe on my laptop, I double checked to make sure that all the food is organic and vegan as was said on the internet which is all that I am allowed to eat, but then she told me that only the wheat flour tortilla isn't organic, so I ordered something that she said is fully organic and vegan, I suspected something wrong while eating the first time.. the second time I ordered days later, ​she said that she doesn't have organic vegan sausages and if it's okay to replace the inorganic vegan sausage with organic vegan tempe, AFTER SHE ALREADY TOLD ME THAT EVERYTHING IS ORGANIC AND VEGAN EXCEPT THE WHEAT FLOUR TORTILLA... I said sure... this was right after she brought me my first order which she very eerily suggested non gmo only whip cream, which is not fully organic, SHE THEN SAID SHE IS BEING TRAPPED IN THE BACK. My blueberries were turning ashy and then looking normal over and over again.. I found this awesomely cool little place in old historic downtown Flagstaff, AZ while wondering the streets searching for nearby Vegan restaurants. It's difficult to describe this tiny little old school hippy, ultra casual, very friendly, full of love atmosphere. Crazy busy, only six tables inside (Three on each side with walkway down the middle), and a couple of small tables on the sidewalk out front - but it was raining, so I elected the only available table. Serve yourself water jug with mason jars for glasses, and cups with utensils and napkins. It's way too busy to expect them to be fast, and they were not - but took in all the atmosphere and eclectic people watching to fill the wait time. It was well worth it. The food was delicious and I loved every bite. Highly recommend this place when you find yourself in downtown Flagstaff. Try the Breakfast Sandwich. (This is what my tastebuds, heart, and soul screamed out while eating) The moment we walked in, we were welcomed SO warmly that it felt like we were entering a friend's home for lunch. The youth with glitter laden lids offered us coffee and enthusiastically assisted us in ordering (we were road weary travelers struggling to make a decision).
