Okay, here's the deal. Chef Joe doesn't take a day off! As you can see below that we came to his amazing restaurant 3 times while we were staying in Flagstaff. He knocked it out of the park EVERY time! JoeJoeBob's is a MUST when you're in Flagstaff. We live in Chandler and my wife and I will take a beautiful drive to go for a hike and to stop by and enjoy his food. His place has a great vibe with Album covers on the walls while playing some good music in the background. When you walk in the door you're in the best hands, because Madi is there to greet you and to take your order. The two of them make JoeJoeBob's a warm and inviting place to grab the BEST food. Do yourself a favor and stop by whenever you're in Flag.

Leek confit on focaccia with whipped Boursin was unreal!

Absolutely amazing! You have to eat here. Everything was homemade including the bread. Soup and small plate so delicious. Best turkey sandwich on earth! Do not miss coming here to JoeJoeBob's!

Try out the chula smoked salmon sandwich. We try salmon and short rib but I'll say my favorite was the salmon with everything cream

A memorable first visit to Mariposa…read more This was our family's first visit to Mariposa, and it definitely lived up to its reputation. We started with the grilled octopus, which was an excellent appetizer. For the entrées, the fish of the day (halibut) was outstanding--perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. The forest seafood soup had an absolutely amazing broth, rich and full of flavor. The chicken entrée was also delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. For drinks, the signature Mariposa cocktail was excellent and memorable. The Skinny Margarita and the Smoky Pear were enjoyable but didn't stand out as much as the food. The non-alcoholic drinks were also a hit. We finished with the cheesecake, which was a delicious ending to the meal. What impressed me most was the depth of flavor while still feeling fresh and health-conscious. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and surprisingly fast without making us feel rushed. The only disappointment was not being seated in one of the dining areas with the beautiful view. Since the scenery is one of Mariposa's highlights, I'd recommend requesting a window or patio table when making a reservation. Although it's definitely on the expensive side, I believe it's worth the price because of the exceptional food, outstanding service, and spectacular setting. Would I return? Absolutely. I'd happily order the grilled octopus, the halibut, and the forest seafood soup again.

And that I was able to be seated and served immediately. The food 5/5 stars no doubt. Plating presentation was just beautiful. The steak was cooked to my request, very tender & flavorful. The potatoes were a nice mixture of crisp and soft. The scrambled eggs and the mimosa were as expected-no complaints there! As you can see the views from the dining patio are gorgeous and on one hand, I am grateful that the room service let me down so that I could truly appreciate such beautiful views while eating a delicious, hot breakfast. On the other hand, it was disappointing that I could not enjoy my breakfast from the room because no one answered the phone for at least the first hour and a half of my morning until I decided to go check out the restaurant in person. 4 stars. 2 for the great food (and views), 2 for the kind waiter and his excellent service. I wish I could give 5 stars but some serious improvement needs to be made on the customer service side in terms of room service.

First and damn we didn't get servers name -she was great. We ordered chips and salsa which looked to tomato based but it was still delicious. We also ordered the mussels w Parmesan (rich and delicious), the salmon tacos -large, the Beef and garlic, and the shisito peppers. The shishito peppers were unusual, slightly sweet and had other vegetables. The salmon tacos were a generous portion, the beef and garlic contained large pieces of garlic amongst the sauce for the chunked beef. The Parmesan mussels are quite rich and delicious. We will definitely be back.

The tale of the chorizo hash…read more.. I was in town visiting family. We have tried to eat here a couple times before, but could never get in. We had a reservation and were excited to finally try it! I ordered the Chorizo Hash and it came out as a plate of ground chorizo with a very small amount of diced potatoes. I assume what happened was they batched it with other orders and mine was the end of the pan. It happens. No big deal. I asked the waiter for some additional potatoes as it was unbalanced and he started counting potatoes in my dish!!! He got up to 5 and then looked at me like I was the idiot... this is after we sat there for 20 minutes before he even took our order. We wanted to have a drink or two first, but felt compelled to order as service was slow already. We made the right call... food took a while to come. We also had Brisket Tacos, which were decent but not warm. The margarita had soda in it... a travesty. All in all the food was average but the attitude of the waiter ruined the experience. I had high expectations. We will give it a whirl again at some point and if that is pleasant, I will update this review. I just couldn't let this service slide... he was TERRIBLE.

In contrast, my husband's gluten-free pizza failed to impress, with a crust that he likened to average store-bought options, lacking any distinctive qualities. We love the founders main restaurant (Dahl & de'Lucca (sp?) and dine there most times we get to Sedona & love it. We have recommended that place dozens of times. THIS PLACE: strange decor, sat at the bar, great friendly bartender & great customer service. We ordered meatballs & mushroom pizza to share for starters for 3... then decided to go elsewhere. The meatballs were ordered with mozzarella (as we were told all their cheeses/ingredients are fresh & imported) - our server had to inform us the chef said "No" to cheese on our meatballs. To be clear- we asked again, and assured him we are fine with an extra charge- again, the chef refused. Flat out refused. Wow. The Food : Meatballs are very small and the bowl looked like a bowl of tomato soup with meatballs ... tasted like bottled sauce & frozen little meatballs. The dish lacked any flavor- like school cafeteria food. Pizza: looked & smelled excellent- crust crispy & chewy, perfectly cooked- but barely any taste. Very slight truffle auroma & taste. Subtle mushroom flavors. Salt did help a little but we opted to go somewhere else for our main meal after the disappointing start. We had to request fresh Parmesan as the little powdered kind was also flavorless/grocery store level either stale from sitting out on the tables or not "imported" as we were told. One question remains... Are patrons allowed to put Parmesan on the meatball soup.. or is that also forbidden? We won't be back and we will NOT be recommending. In fact after the attitude of the "chef" I have doubts about patronizing or recommending the other restaurants Lisa Dahl owns.
