I came twice while I was in town. The place is clean. The staff is friendly. The food is good. I'll eat here again for sure

The original restaurant location is a historical landmark on Route 66. It serves traditional café food with a Mexican spin on several dishes. Located on the corner of Route 66 or what remains of Route 66, the restaurant provides an excellent overview of the route's history. This is a definite must-try just for the historical essence of the Mother Road trip. The service was excellent. We were offered refills multiple times, and the waitress came back to check on us and see if anything else was needed. The only downside was that the menu was not up-to-date, as items were ordered that were no longer offered.

This establishment is amazing! We ordered a Turkey deli sandwich, with bacon, cheese o. Toasted sourdough. It melted in my mouth. My husband ordered the original cheeseburger, with grilled onions and we both had French fries. The fries are so fresh and delicious. We will be back! One bite and I knew we were in the right place for lunch! Yummy!!!!!

I love this place but I've never left a review. I often get the French dip with green chiles which is awesome, but today I was in here with breakfast in my mind. Homemade corned beef hash, eggs over easy, green sauce. And maybe the best horchata I've ever had in my life and I've had a lot on both sides of the border. Holy moly! A Flagstaff classic.

Small old time diner on route 66 in town of flagstaff. Just off the I40 its a few miles up the road. A cool little hole in the wall diner. Interior looks like it was stuck in 70s or 80's ..which is cool...Its airconditioned and has clean individual bathrooms (male or female no other ficticious options) The menu was basic diner food (burgers entries etc) not a bad option..... decent portions and fair pricing...

The floor was filthy. Don't they own a mop?

The food was good, although it was not presented well on the plates. The service was cheery and speedy. But what really gave us pause on the way in was the appearance of the place. It's shabby and run down. The floor is filthy. It's not a welcoming looking place. The 'blah' appearance of the food didn't help.

Came here just coming into Flagstaff for the weekend. Little quaint diner off Rte 66. Came in and half the restaurant (upper half) was closed so we were told to take a booth right inside the door or go downstairs. Downstairs was packed so we chose the booth by the door. We ordered our drinks and when the waitress brought our drinks she asked if we were ready to order- I like to ask what the waitress recommends and she had not one recommendation to give me- not a good sign ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We went with the Carne Asada Fries- they were just ok And the Buffalo Chicken Fries- those were delicious! Service was ok Half the meal was so so Price wasn't bad

This is a local restaurant in Flagstaff, AZ. It's one of my son's favorites. Today's experience, according to my son, was sub par because of the service. Miz Zip's is primarily a breakfast place. It's on Route 66 and occupies a pretty nondescript building both inside and outside. It was open seating when we arrived so we took a booth. We received our menus and ordered drinks. I asked if they had Splenda and our server didn't know so I didn't order coffee right away. I took our coats to the car and we had some there, so I did order coffee. Our drinks and coffee came but there was no creamer (I wasn't asked if I wanted some so I assumed our server would bring it). She didn't. I asked for creamer. The donut holes came and the creamer. The donut holes were fantastic!! Our food came. We were asked if we wanted anything. Our daughter-in-law asked for chalula. Our server brought more coffee and the chalula. The food was very good. I had the huevos rancheros. My son had the chicken and waffles, which he enjoyed. Our daughter-in-law had the Gringo French toast. She loved it. Great food! We didn't see our server again until she brought the check. I asked her to freshen up my coffee.

The menu items at Miz Zip's are simple, but don't let that fool you - everything we tried when we visited was really good :-) Tip: The venue is situated just off the infamous Route 66 My friend tried some of their breakfast items, but I went with the lunch menu; my burger was outstanding! The staff is friendly and welcoming; they bake their cakes and pies fresh daily :-)

The bacon was delicious, perfectly cooked.

I wanted to stop here often as I had a hunch that it would be quite charming. I was right. In addition, the service was really a plus, very attentive and clearly they enjoy their work here. I asked for extra crispy, hashbrowns and they delivered. Nice and crunchy. The coffee was good and they offer rye toast. My favorite. Be sure to look at my posted photos to appreciate how pleasant Ms. Zips is. An old diner feel. I'm coming back soon to sit at the counter.

I've eaten here countless times and I'm never disappointed. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. I can truly say there's nothing bad on this menu! The staff is always super welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. It's a smaller space and it does get pretty busy, so be aware of that. The best part is that the cafe is family owned, with roots in Playa del Carmen, MX. I HIGHLY recommend Madrez if you're looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican brunch spot. Support local!

My partner and I ordered a chorizo burrito, a skillet poblano, and a plain waffle. While everything was just okay, it honestly felt like something we could have made better at home. I especially wouldn't recommend the waffles -- they were very airy, almost like toast, and at $14 they just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it's not somewhere I'd return to.

We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!

We were intrigued enough that we visited MartAnne's the very next night for dinner. That was on a Tuesday at around 6PM and it wasn't too busy the entire time we were there. House Horchata ($5.99) - This drink comes in a giant 32 oz Ball jar with tons of ice. Per the server it's made with milk and condensed milk, no rice milk at all. It's rich, thick, creamy, sweet, filled with earthy notes of vanilla and cinnamon. There's so much spice included that at some points, there's almost a gritty feeling while drinking. It's perfect for a hot day after hiking. Buckwheat Pancake ala carte ($4.99) - Buckwheat pancakes are something we've never seen before on a diner menu in the past. It seems to be pretty common around Arizona, so we had to give it a try before leaving Flagstaff. This one's pretty big, almost plate sized. It's really moist, fluffy, bouncy, and light with a slight sweetness and a certain earthy flavor. It's moist enough that it sticks to the ceramic plate it's served on. The pancake is somewhat crumbly due to the low gluten content of buckwheat, although I believe they use a mix of buckwheat and wheat flour to give some more stability. It's bluish grey in color with black specks of ground buckwheat throughout. It's dusted with powdered sugar, but it's not a ton, making the pancake not really sweet at all. The pancake comes with a small cup of their cinnamon honey butter. It's not mixed that well, leaving it mostly unhomogenized with streaks of honey and spice through the softened salted butter. Tamale ala carte ($4.99) - MartAnne's offers two types of tamales - the first a red chile beef, and the second a green corn and cheese. We went with the latter, which is a homemade tamale with a somewhat looser, coarsely ground masa shell surrounding an interior of yellow sweet corn kernels, a bouncy and somewhat spongy block of Oaxaca cheese, and a fragrant green chile. There's a slight sweetness throughout and the tamale overall is easy to eat. Chilaquiles, Xmas, Fratelli ($17.99) - This is a monster sized plate of a mishmash of ingredients. There are three things as essentially a base layer. Firstly some Mexican rice that's tender, moist, and fluffy, totally unlike the more common dry and and compact version. My guess is that they skip the initial frying step that helps keeps the starch together. It's quite fragrant and has gives a bit of heat. On top of the rice is a layer of hash browns. The potatoes are tender on the interior, griddled on one side to give a delightful crunch, although there's some acridity that develops. Another third of the plate is covered with chili beans - tender pinto beans that are well salted and seasoned. Then there's the eggs stuffed in between layers of corn tortilla chips, smothered with sauce. I went with the Christmas combination of red and green sauce, followed up by the Fratelli-style pork green chile. The green sauce is fragrant and vegetal, while the red sauce is more smoky. The pork, which is cut into chunks, on top is a bit tough and dry but there's more than enough sauce to make up for that slight demerit. Finally, there's a small mound of I believe jalapeno peppers, cut into small neon-green colored pieces. Some pieces are spicy, some are mild, all have a vegetal pepper taste. I found the food at MartAnne's to be pretty good. It definitely hits the spot after hiking all around the area for most of the day. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Note: MartAnne's charges a 3.5% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu.
